Bowser Jr.’s Journey Observations (Part 2)

Wasn’t sure if anybody was reading this but here’s part 2.

- Lemmy’s been subdued by Longchin McCrayonfingers, but is left alone as Wendy and Larry show up. They get caught in barrels shortly after though.

- Morton, Kamek and Bowser Jr. arrive at the outskirts of Bowser’s Castle... where the castle is missing (prior to this, there were a few minor/indirect references to the main plot, but this might be the first major one), meaning that it’s currently crushing Bowser.

- Bowser’s Castle Outskirts part 2 happens

- The trio eventually reach the cold storage where the Shroobs are. Junior gains the ice after defeating several of the Shroobs.

- The group then runs into and Madame Broque. She’s apparently familiar with both Kamek and Bowser. The group “fights” (a guess, but given the nature of her other encounters...) her. It’s one round, just her, but she can slam enemies into Bowser Jr./your first officer and she can summon scuttles to help her. After beating her... something happens, that requires Kamek and Junior to stand outside (and causes explosions). When they come back in, Madame Broque gives them the final ingredient.

- The blue member of the SS Trio appears and takes the ingredients and makes a Blorb cure. However, Longchin also brought some sort of frog. They combine it with the cure to create a corrupted version of the cure and force-feed it to Morton.

- Morton is brainwashed into serving Fawful. Bowser Jr. attempts to attack the duo, only to get beaten back by Morton (as seen in the trailer). Morton then throws Junior into the ocean.

- Junior wakes up on Plack Beach where Kamek finds him. Kamek talks to him a bit but whatever he says (again, Japanese) doesn’t seem to go through. He leaves (to find Junior a snack?)

- At this point, Junior remembers a drumstick that Morton gave him as they were leaving Bowser’s Castle (this doesn’t come out of nowhere: that scene was early in the game, but I forgot to mention it) and is about to eat it...

- But then, we get flashbacks of Junior’s interactions with the Koopalings (mostly his bad behavior towards them), ending with a flashback of Morton giving him the drumstick. Tears can be seen falling from his face as he eats the drumstick. Kamek sees this and decides to leave him alone, only to be attacked by enemies at the start of the next stage (as a sidenote, the “ending” theme on as labeled on Youtube actually plays here, it’s a musicbox version of Bowser Jr.’s theme).

- Afterwards, Junior apparently resolves to find the Koopalings, despite them possibly being anywhere in the Mushroom Kingdom.

- At this point, Blue and Longchin pass out cures throughout Bowser’s Castle, which empowers certain minions with a dark aura (just like with Morton).

- Kamek and Junior find Iggy at Kuzzle’s shack, Iggy having washed up Plack Beach after being shoved by the SS Trio. However, he lost his memory after that fall, which lead to Kuzzle taking him in (Sidenote: Just what is the time-frame for the events in this game? Is it all just one day?). Kuzzle does apparently allow Bowser Jr. and Kamek to challenge Iggy with the intent on getting him back, and afterwards Iggy regains his memory and rejoins the party.

- Next, the Koopa Troop heads back to Dimple Woods to find Ludwig, only to get jumped by Blue, who brought the Absolute Unit this time, Mucio/Muchio (the only one who’s name I actually know at this point in time) and attempts to fight them.

- However, Mucio acts weirdly...

- ...And turns out to actually be Ludwig in disguise.

- Ludwig reveals that he apparently went back to the castle and ran into Mucio. The confrontation ends with Mucio sending Ludwig into the lava, only for Ludwig to suddenly reappear (Doppleganger? He survived the lava?) and shove Mucio in instead.

- He then leaves Mucio in the Bob-Omb storage. The same one Bowser falls into right before his “explosive” exit from his castle...

- Blue, outright furious, attacks the group but they come out on top. She leaves, Junior and Ludwig talk (I really wish I knew what they were saying there) and Ludwig rejoins the party afterward.

- Junior has a skill (possibly “Snacktime” based on english screens) where he uses a remote control to summon the Junior Clown Car and have it drop candy which heals his units. This is the first time the Clown Car is seen with its boxing attachments in Mario & Luigi (even in this game, Junior usually uses it to ram stuff).

- Bowser Jr. also has a skill while in his clown car where he calls a a bunch of Shy-Guy Airtubs to do an air raid.

- Ludwig has a skill where he goes up to an enemy and coerces them into leaving the battle. He does this via a series of rapid-fire arguments/offers (I really want to see this translated).

- Blue’s skills apparently revolve around singing and screams, based on her boss fight.

That’s that for Round 2. If you’re reading these, then thank you for your interest and patience. Now wait for the other parts and when the english release comes out where I inevitably got things wrong.

when i was a little kid i used to love going in this halloween store at the mall & they had all the scary masks on the wall behind the counter & id just stare at them & there was one that i guess was some kind of like off-brand ghostface & i called him Longchin & i was so obsessed with him. i never bought anything there but any time we went to the mall id make my mom take me in there so i could see longchin. i miss him
