some lore surrounding these two that is too long overdue but 🤷‍♂️

not as detailed and rambly as i’d like it to be, but i’m really burned out and i’m trying to get back to it🧍‍♂️

all the way back in 2038 Vincent and Ray, after dating for around two years, agreed to leave California together on august 21st — Ragan’s birthday; it was supposed to be his birthday gift of sorts, a start of a new chapter, new life;

buuut Vince, being a little shit teenager, got cold feet (in Ray’s eyes, Vince always justified that as being rational) and ditched him last minute, not showing up in their agreed spot, making Ragan leave on his own after hours of waiting.

this caused Ray to despite his own birthdate, it always reminding him of the heartbreak and betrayal. 🧍‍♂️

Vincent has felt guilty ever since, but firmly believed it was the right choice. he was never fit to live a nomadic lifestyle at such a young age.

four decades later their paths cross again and a long healing journey ensues.

so now this date is pretty bittersweet to both of them 🧍‍♂️ but it gets better overtime

although i think if they did ran away together then, it wouldn’t have ended good at all 🤷‍♂️ with Vince still being pretty immature emotionally, still struggling with some inner personal things (family stuff, internalized homophobia, etc.) and not familiar with the nomadic culture and ways of living. they’d probably get in bad fights more and more as the time would go on, and eventually split. Vince would’ve decided to go back to Night City probably (if he ever would make it back) and they’d never end up back together has they met in the future.

their separation allowed them to grow and mature on their own, in their own familiar environments, experience different things, and after they met again, after all those years, they put their feelings and mutual attraction to the test

and it turned out they still want each other even with all the imperfections 🧍‍♂️(i’m not crying you are) they could lie all they want but their brain chemistry couldn’t. Vincent never loved someone they way he loved Ragan, and Ray never quite felt the same way with anyone else like he felt with Vince. there was always something missing, something not quite right. and while they could tell each other they’re looking for something too far out of their reach, that they’re looking for a too perfect partner, in reality they always just wanted each other 🧍‍♂️

they still have a lot to work on together in their relationship, but now that they’re too old for teenage fights and too tired for heartbreaks, they make compromises and their fights make their bond and their understanding of one another stronger 🧍‍♂️🧍‍♂️

like we acknowledge that Vince did a shitty thing by ghosting Ray, going no contact and being a puss, too scared to man up, and tell him face to face ‘hey i can’t go, this type of thing ain’t for me’. he didn’t want to acknowledge that, saying that out loud, or even in his mind, would make that real and that scared him. he was definitely a teen who’d rather avoid doing something he wasn’t comfortable with to not experience the uncomfortable feelings altogether. the avoidant type we all know and love 🧍‍♂️

and yet Ray still chose to love him 🧍‍♂️ he’s definitely like ‘this man’s trash but he’s *my* trash’. Vince gets better eventually after Ray finally gets through his thick ass skull.

but also i’m not gonna sit here and say Ragan fixed Vince coz that wasn’t the case 🤷‍♂️ this is not a ‘i’m gonna fix him’ type of situation. Ragan wasn’t and isn’t perfect either, his perspective was kinda askew as well; can’t quite describe it as i haven’t psychoanalyzed him as much as Vincent but they’re both flawed, make mistakes left and right and learn from that (sooner or later) like human beings 🧍‍♂️

Do u think Ragan’s got the fake swords?

it’s definitely possible; seven missing fake swords and seven people in a realm feels awfully convenient. but i also think it’s possible that the fake swords are in the beach realm, and the swords the ros people are getting back from beating the tournament rounds are the fakes -- they came in with the real ones, lost them to the robots, and retrieve fake swords (though i’m not sure how the robots would’ve gotten their hands on fake swords or had the idea to use them like that). 

as for who might’ve switched them -- gyrus’ allies were only three other people plus maria and alastair, so they’d only need to take five swords, and they said they’d go back to take the ros group’s swords after they met with the other three colleagues, so i don’t think they’re directly involved in the disappearance, but i could be wrong. don has been getting more and more sus with these recent chapters and lore drops, and given that he has that boss sword dagger, i think he’s probably connected to this.

Where I Stand

This is where I stand. To me, social medii are useful vehicles for passion and activism. Our 45th President, his power hungry cronies taking positions of authority in his Cabinet and administration, and the majority of Republicans in Congress are a real and active threat to me, my way of life, the people I love, and the nation I grew up caring about.

Some people are saying that we should give Trump a chance, that we should "work together" with him because he won the election and he is "everyone's president." 

This is my response:

I will not forget how badly he and others treated people who were different than them, by gender, by social status,or  by race.

I will not accept anyone as a “Christian” when they act with defiance and opposition to so much of what Christ taught.

I will not forget his lack of respect or outright disdain for others with any quality that wrought fear in his heart or made him feel too ignorant to understand.

I will not "work together" to privatize Medicare, cut Social Security and Medicaid.

I will not “work together” to break apart the very precepts designed to make this country a new and free nation; precepts that that made our nation great in the first place.

I will not "work together" to build a wall.

I will not "work together" to persecute Muslims.

I will not "work together" to shut out refugees from other countries.

I will not “work together” to support efforts designed to eliminate the middle class.

I will not "work together" to lower taxes on the 1% and increase taxes on the middle class and poor.

I will not "work together" to help Trump use the Presidency to line his pockets and those of his family and cronies

I will not "work together" to weaken and demolish environmental protection.

I will not "work together" to sell American lands, especially National Parks, to companies which then despoil those lands

I will not "work together" to enable the killing of whole species of animals just because they are predators, or inconvenient for a few, or because some people want to get their thrills killing them.

I will not "work together" to remove civil rights from anyone.

I will not "work together" to alienate countries that have been our allies for as long as I have been alive.

I will not "work together" to slash funding for education.

I will not "work together" to take basic assistance from people who are at the bottom of the socioeconomic ladder.

I will not "work together" to get rid of common sense regulations on guns.

I will not "work together" to support so-called "Right To Work" laws, or undermine, weaken or destroy workers’ unions in any way.

I will not "work together" to suppress scientific research, be it on climate change, fracking, or any other issue where a majority of scientists agree that Trump and his supporters are wrong on the facts.

I will not "work together" to criminalize abortion or restrict health care for women.

I will not "work together" to increase the number of nations that have nuclear weapons.

I will not "work together" to put even more "big money" into politics.

I will not "work together" to violate the Geneva Convention.

I will not "work together" to give the Ku Klux Klan, the Nazi Party and white supremacists a seat at the table, or to normalize their hatred.

I will not "work together" to deny health care to people who need it.

I will not "work together" to deny medical coverage to people on the basis of a "pre-existing condition."

I will not "work together" to increase voter suppression.

I will not "work together" to normalize tyranny.

I will not “work together” to eliminate or reduce ethical oversight at any level of government.

I will not "work together" with anyone who is, or admires, tyrants and dictators.

I will not support anyone that thinks it is OK to put a pipeline to transport oil on Sacred Ground for Native Americans.

I will not ask God to “bless America again” while we choose greed over gratitude and ignore that which we have already been blessed with in abundance.

I will stand for honesty, love, respect for all living beings, and for the beating heart that is the center of Life itself.

I will use my voice and my hands, to reach out to the uninformed, and to anyone who will LISTEN: That "winning", "being great again", "rich" or even "beautiful" is nothing -- when others are sacrificed to glorify its existence.

6. do they have pet names for each other? Do they like them?

Ray has an array of italian pet names he likes to use for Vincent; bello or amore being the most common. Vincent likes the sound of them so he doesn’t really mind; besides he loves listening to Ragan speaking italian. he sometimes calls him Elio (meaning sun) or Eli (short for Elijah) - which was how his mother would call him - but uses it very sporadically since it tends to trigger Vincent in a bad way.

Vincent isn’t big on using pet names, the closest he gets to a pet name is shortening someone’s name – in Ragan’s case it’s calling him Ray - and he has exclusive rights to calling him that. he sometimes jokingly calls him his ray of sunshine, but aside from that, he sometimes uses love and very rarely honey. Ragan melts every time Vincent uses one of those, but finds his nickname Ray really endearing as well.

8. what do they find physically sexiest about each other?

Vincent is absolutely crazy about Ray’s lower half. he’s an ass man by definition and would spend hours staring at Ray’s rear end. he’s obsessed with his big strong thighs, the way the muscles dip and curve, how the fabric stretches around them. Ray often uses it to his advantage making sure to sway his hips when waking by, purposefully wearing tight fitting jeans or really short shorts, not throwing away pants with rips, or indulging Vince by sitting in his lap and letting him run his hands down his thighs.

for Ray it’s Vince’s shoulders and neck. he loves how broad he is. his massive build makes him feel tiny in comparison despite being only 20 centimeters or so shorter than him. he liked digging his fingers into his back, hibbing him back rubs and massages, running his fingertips over the defined muscles and textured skin. the burns and scars don’t take away the beauty and only make this part of Vince’s body that much hotter and more unique. he often catches himself staring at Vincent’s back when he’s wearing a tight shirt or it’s clinging to his sweaty back.

23. what was their first impression of each other?

to Ragan Vincent came off as textbook example of a NC dweller; rude, selfish wish a sharp tongue and colorful string of curses in his pocket. a rebellious street punk, tall and intimidating, he immediately piqued Ragan’s interest. wearing dark clothes, pale with no kitsch cyberware he stood out from the flashy crowd of NC’s young punks, and was a nice contrast to what Ragan was used to seeing out in the Badlands. despite Vincent’s rather cold demeanor towards Ragan he saw something in him. first impression – cute but a raging asshole.

Vincent was conflicted about how he felt about Ray, at first he hated his bubbly personality and how friendly he was with his friends and with him, but on the other hand - even if he tried - he couldn’t deny the man’s attractiveness. there was something pulling Vince towards Ray – be it his charming persona or a pretty pearly smile and those gorgeous gorgeous eyes. first impression – handsome idiot.

27. what interests do they share? For interests they don't share, do they ever participate anyway?

what started as a remedy for soreness quickly turned into a hobby of sorts - Vincent have been practicing yoga for some time now and it slowly crept into his daily routine, so much so he starts off his day with a yoga and a quick meditation sesh, even if he has to wake up before the break of dawn. Ray sometimes (when he feels like waking up this early) takes part in Vince's early shenanigans and overtime he gets quite good at it as well! however he's more of a passive enjoyer when it come's to Vincent's interest in yoga, he likes to watch him from the distance. it's always quite a sight. one more thing Vincent has an interest in that Ray doesn't share nor participate are chess. after losing way too many games he swore to never play with Vince again. Ray's such a sore loser - just like his input. one thing they do share is watching terrible, cringy or cheesy movies and reality shows. Vince is an avid drama reality show watcher (picture Love Island but make it cyberpunk), he loooves to bitch about the people in it and Ray is right with him on that. they both comment on the contestants’ actions throughout the whole episode and usually end up binging the whole or half a season in one go. Ray loves old cheesy romance movies and old western and forces Vincent to watch them with him. Vince won't ever admit it but he does like the cheesy romance movies more than the action packed westerns. Ray's one interest that Vincent doesn't share but still tries to participate in is old tech. he loves taking apart old cassette tapes, CD players and radios, making his own little devices from parts he finds himself or ones Vincent brings him from the city's pawnshops and vintage stores. Vince can't understand how Ray can be so invested in ancient tech like this, but he himself has his own weird little interests and loves old cars and furniture so he can't really say anything about it.

7. what's their most and least favorite thing about each other?

vincent about ragan his favorite thing about Ray is his ass how he is a somewhat of an opposite of him in terms of personality. he can see how they complete each other in some aspects and it's honestly refreshing. while they're not completely different from each other (if they were Vince wouldn't click with Ray at all) there's just something about Ragan that makes Vince think of sun and nostalgic summertime as a kid. i guess he sees in him what he had missed in his childhood and early adulthood. least favorite thing about Ray would be how he holds grudges, and it seems like he will never fully forgive Vince for leaving him back in '38. he hates that Ragan doesn't try to understand that decision from his point of view at that time. Ray has a hard time understanding Vince's experiences since he hadn't went through what he had and that annoys Vince and is often the core of their fights.

ragan about vincent favorite thing about Vince is his protective nature and determination. he often purposefully tries to make Vince jealous or doesn't fully ignore the attention other men give him in order for Vince to get protective of him. he doesn't mind when he gets violent because of it neither, in fact Ragan lives for the thrill and adrenaline, having been deprived of many excitements in his past, and loves that Vince can catch up with his crazy ideas and supply him with adrenaline rush. that being said Ray is a fan of his occupation even though they tend to fight a lot about that. least favorite thing is Vince's stubbornness, avoidance and closed of nature. he's really tough to talk to and Ray knows that as much as everyone else in Vince's life. he's very stubborn and hates losing in arguments, so it's really hard to reason with him or try to change his mind. he's also really set on continuing his merc work, despite being able to retire a long time ago with how much money he has saved and the amount of time he spends being a solo mildly pisses Ray off.

14. what little things remind them of each other?

ray ever since learning that Vincent collects crystals stones, each and every pretty rock Ragan comes across reminds him of Vincent. he collects the prettiest ones in order to later gift them to him and will fight a bitch over a stone. vince brown worn-out leather, vintage jeans and old cowboy movies remind Vincent of Ragan as well as old vintage gold watches and dainty gold jewelry with christian crosses or depictions of saints.

19. what values do they not share? how do they reconcile those differences?

Vincent is a vengeful violent man whereas Ragan is more diplomatic and forgiving. Ragan has an easier time to let go of certain matters meanwhile Vincent won't stop until he finds closure and solace. he has more of a 'whatever it takes' approach, often disregarding his own health and well-being and that's something Ragan can't resonate with. also Vince seems to never be done with his mercenary work, always chasing something or someone - Ray concludes it's his own demons and PTSD - while Ragan is ready to retire and settle down with Vince. and that's the biggest issue in their relationship; while they do try to reconcile their differences it's really hard and they're not getting anywhere with it.

2. do they like each other's friends? do their friends like them?

neither Vince nor Ragan really get to meet each other's friends and if they do, it's not often for a long time. both Vince and Ragan are from two very different worlds thus they have completely different assortment of friends.

Vincent's inner circle of friends is rather small, and most are not friends with each other or are fond of one another. those with whom he has more of a professional relationship ��� Dino and Jefferson — don't really give a shit about his private intimate life; it's not their business hence why they're neutral towards Ragan - if they even know of him. Reginald — Vince's ripper and an old friend from the army — ain't too fond of Ray and their relationship in general; he fails to see the good in him and only recognizes how much pain Vincent went through because of him. he thinks he makes Vincent too soft which will end up killing him in the long run. he does nothing however to ruin their relationships, but doesn't fail to voice his doubts.

when it comes to Ray's friends Vincent is pretty neutral, a bit guarded though. he doesn't have anything bad to say about them but he doesn't make an effort to be super friendly with them or get to know them more. they're a part of Ray's clan and he treats them as such, helps if needed around the camp, drink a beer or two when Ray isn't around; crack a joke maybe, but in the end he doesn't really care. if Ray likes them, Vince will make sure to be nice towards them.

Ragan generally likes Vince's friends, although he has to admit Vince's choice in friends is rather questionable. his old pals or work friends make him a bit uneasy and he personally wouldn't be too thrilled to be around them alone. they just don't match Ray's vibe - too cold, too rude, too city-like. they haven't done anything to Ray for him to have a bad opinion about them, so he doesn't really have much to say about Vince's friends.

Ragan's friends are really confused and feel conflicted about Vince. they're a bit scared of him in fact, intimidated for sure. they look at their relationship with a dose of skepticism, but eventually manage to warm up to Vincent and treat him as equal.

4. how do they compare to each other's exes? are they the same "type" or an upgrade/something different?

after they separated in 2038 Vince had a few flings after he came back from the army, lots of one-night-stands, and one more serious relationship of 5 years with a rockstar, which eventually ended up in a mutual break up. Vince's type are rockerboys and nomads, so neither were really an upgrade nor downgrade, both were just from two different worlds, with two different backgrounds. Vince never really got over Ray, and while he did love Kerry when they were together it jus wasn't the same type of love Vincent had and has for Ragan. neither relationship was better or worse; both had some bad moments, but with Kerry Vince and him wanted different things from each other, and Kerry had a tendency to try and mold Vince into someone he wasn't. meanwhile Ragan doesn't try to change Vince while still calling him out on his bullshit. he accepts all the imperfections about him and who he is on the outside and the inside.

after Ragan got stood up by Vince he threw away all his feelings for him - or at least he tried - and started sleeping and dating around with whoever he pleased, trying to fill the hole in his heart left after Vincent. when he met Dante - leader of a clan he later joined after being on his own for over 2 years, he thought he finally found someone he can start something meaningful with. Dante was a really great friend, warm and funny, outgoing and loud - with him Ray didn't really have time or space to think about Vincent and dwell of what could've been. while Dante had so many green flags and seemed like a perfect guy he was a bit too perfect for Ray. many people would consider Dante an upgrade when comparing him to Vince, but Ragan thinks otherwise, and when Vincent eventually came crawling back it didn't take much for Ragan to take him back - his unpolished, uncut, rough diamond.

5. how do they sleep?

Vincent is a stomach sleeper and Ray doesn't really have any preference. it depends on where they sleep and how much available space they have, although they usually end up sleeping on top of each other. it's either Vince laying on top of Ragan, head on his chest or nuzzling his neck; or both laying on their sides facing each other with Ray's head either tucked underneath Vincent's chin with Vince stroking Ray's hair and back; or resting on top of it (they like to switch who's the 'big spoon' in this one). if they're spooning (which isn't often, since it isn't their favorite sleeping position) Vince is almost always the big spoon, but if it's Ray Vince is getting back kisses on his burn scars 😌

13. how do they express love for each other? do they have compatible love languages?

Vince's love language is acts of service and gift giving while Ray's is physical touch and a bit of gift giving as well. Ray likes leaving small knick knacks and dumb souvenirs in Vince's car or bag and Vince treasures them dearly. Vincent on the other hand likes spoiling Ray with guns, ammo shipments for his clan, vintage clothes or tech to show him that he knows him and does in fact listen when he rambles about ancient CD players and USB sticks.

Vince is rather sparse with expressing his feelings, so he tries to make up for it with relieving Ray of his responsibilities - do the dishes, clean and polish his gun, take Pesto out for a morning run. Ray doesn't need to ask him half the time to do something for him. he does warm up a bit more the longer they're together after they reunite, becoming more affectionate. it's not that he doesn't show his love physically, he is keen on physical contact but sometimes he just hold back, unlike Ragan.

Ragan is all about physical touch, it's hard for him to keep his hands off Vincent when he's around. it's either a hand on his shoulder, thigh or fullon sprawling across his lap to show not only him but others that he loves him and is his. he's the type of guy to kiss you good morning, good afternoon, good evening and good night. he won't let Vince leave without at least a peck on the cheek - for good luck of course.

30. where is their relationship the strongest?

both would quite literally jump into flames for each other. they have each other's back no matter what and trust neither would let the other get hurt. they're both really sacrificing and would rather suffer themselves than see the other suffer. they might have fight here and there, disagree on certain values, but their love is crazy intense. and despite going through many lovers and getting attention from even more people, they only ever had their eyes and hearts for each other.

12. what struggle have they seen each other through?

back in 2037 when they were in their late teens, very early on into their relationship Vincent really struggled with his sexuality, had a really hard time coming to terms with it and understanding himself. Ray eventually managed to help him with his repressed feelings and internalized homophobia, although it came at a cost (getting punched in a face a few times). Ragan on the other hand had some family issues back then; being both trans and gay had strained his relationship with his parents and the thoughts of running away from his clan grew more and more insistent with each passing day. he felt conflicted about his decision, since he was a really familiy-oriented guy and his his clan was all the knew, so deciding to go off on his own, knowing that leaving meant never coming back was a big decision to make.

16. how do they react when the other is upset? how do they try to help?

when Ragan is upset Vince tries not to bother him too much, especially in the beginning. he lets him cool down first before trying to go talk to him (since it was probably him that upset him in the first place). Vince is not good with words when it comes to apologies so he tries to redeem himself by doing small tasks for Ragan, doesn't get in his way and only gauges from a distance if it's the right time to talk to him. if he's not the one that made Ragan upset then he beats the shit out of that person that upset him asjdkha and Ragan usually has to stop him. Vince on the other hand is much better at hiding his emotions, so you can't really tell when he's upset and what has upset him, unless the feeling's so intense his stoic façade cracks, and you can just see the rage in his eyes. he bottles up his feelings and is stubborn to deal with them solely by himself. but when Ray does sense something is off with Vincent he leaves him alone and lets him process whatever is going through his head, since he's a hard man to talk to, but is always there for him and lets him know that. he's not the best with words either and can't relate to Vincent's struggles but makes up for with in physical contact and comfort. when Vince's upset he's more touchy and affectionate in general to help him get his mind off the things that has upset him.

how much jewelry do they wear, and do they have a favorite or distinguishing piece? if you take into account all the piercings in his ears and body in general then it's quite a lot (around 33 piercings in total). but piercings aside, not much. he settles on a few rings on his 'ganic fingers, sometimes paired with a thick chain around his neck. he's not much of a bracelet wearer, but he does wear a watch fairly often. his go-to accessories are a pair of dog tags (his and his deceased friend's) and a Hog's Tooth from his military days.

what attributes do they have that are inherited from their parents or shared with their siblings/other relatives? the need to be out in the open, hard working nature and passion for one's work from his father. back in Italy Ray's father would take him out for a whole day of working at their family farm, instead of letting him stay all day at the house helping his mother. they would almost always leave at the break of dawn and come back late into the evening, exhausted yet fulfilled. he also naturally absorbed his leadership skills over the time when they emigrated to the NUSA.

Is there a meaning behind their name, or a particular reason why they have it? (either in the story, or why you as the author decided to give them their name) Ragan is (apparently) Gaelic variation of the name Reagan and i really thought i was making a whole new name up huh. can't remember exactly how i came up with it, but i settled on it 'coz the first part is prononunced like 'ray' and Ragan is my little ray of sunshine - total opposite of Vincent. Ray picked his name himself after he came out as trans and they moved to the America. saw it probably in a history book - he was a history nerd back then - took out one letter and thought 'ah, that's good enough'. he was born during a full eclipse so the 'ray of sunshine' does hold some meaning i guess.

Ragan – little animal wood carving he did as a kid and would play imaginary board games drawn in the sand with all the other kids, dried lizard tail he keeps in a jar – first he ever caught but got away; and a few pressed flowers between old comic pages. most valuable would be an old beautifully engraved silver revolver with a pearl handle he got from his father for his birthday.

he would be a mix of sad and angry upon realizing he lost any of these (okay maybe the lizard tails and flowers would be the least of his worries), but he would be devastated had he lost his gun; his father wasn't the nicest guy to him but it was sort of a family heirloom, so losing it would be tragic.

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

Vincent – my inspiration was all over. i just wanted him to be hot. he evolved overtime and many aspects molded him into what he is today. first things that i decided about him though was: hair color, that's he's gonna have lots of tattoos and piercings and black eyes.

Ragan – thanks to you, asshole, Manu Rios became somewhat my inspo for Ragan 😪 one thing i wanted for him to be for sure was: to be a cowboy nomad and have long curly hair; the rest evolved overtime.

📚 BOOKS - how were they at school? what is their best subject? what is their worst subject? do they have a favourite subject?

Vincent – he was an overachiever; perfectionist, wanted to please his father (partially) but also wanted to be the best. science was his strongest suit – chemistry, physics and math. his worst subject was literature, economics; best – geography, chemistry and biology (got it from his mom 😌 smart boy)

Ragan – he only went to primary school for a few years back in Sicily, the rest of his education was primarily based on home-schooling. he exceeded in history, languages and geography but sucked at math and physics – he's more of a social sciences boy.

📦 PACKAGE - what are some "most likely to..." that can apply to them?

most likely to... Vincent – assassinate the president; set something or someone on fire; steal military-grade explosives; get into a car crash; play ancient songs from early 2000s and late 1900s

Ragan – hogtie you with a lasso and drag behind his car; be the most drunk; win a rodeo; walks around butt-ass naked in public; get someone's name tattooed on him after one day of knowing them.

💥 COLLISON - what emotions do they have trouble dealing with?

Vincent – mistrustfulness; he's very suspicious and wary of everyone, always keeps his guard up around people he doesn't know (and those he knows as well). that's just how Night City conditioned him, each for himself. he's contracted trust issues because of than (and because of some family stuff back in the day) and accepting the fact that not everyone is after him is hard to accept.

Ragan – jealousy; he's very clingy and possessive, doesn't really trust his partner or believe in their faithfulness. he's tends to be controlling at times, Vincent leaving him in 2038 did a nasty number on him – and he has yet to heal from the betrayal.

Ragan – being cast away from his current clan – Midnight Howlers; both his clans/families falling apart leaving him alone on his own again. he needs a group, a family; he's been a solo nomad for a few years in his early 20s and these were one of the worst years for him, every night he prays this won't ever happen again, does everything to keep his tribe strong and working, feels very responsible for it.

💡 LIGHTBULB - is your oc a planner? do they write down every small detail or just wing it?

Vincent – mostly a planner, he's organized, likes to choreograph his actions; however when it comes to merc work, he usually just wings it, lets years of practice and experience lead his actions – what he does usually follows the same/very similar plan/strategy anyway.

Ragan – a strict planner; less likely to wing anything or go with the flow. he's very careful like that. sometimes he gets spontaneous when it's not a serious matter or a situation he's familiar with.

☁️ CLOUD - a soft headcanon

Vincent – he baby-talks to his cat. Nibbles has this man acting in ways nobody could ever think of. he gives her all the kisses, shoves his face into her, carries and cuddles around everywhere. he claims he does not pick favorites among his pets but its clear as day this oversized bald rat is #1 in Vince's heart.

Ragan – he's very good with children; having grown up in a large nomad family, he often took a caretaker role upon himself when his parents wouldn't let him go on dangerous scavenging trips. young kids and babies love him, he's natural with them, but would not have a kid of his own. could possibly see himself fostering a young teen but being called a father would make him feel just weird.

36. who is their biggest enemy?

Vincent It would be too easy to say 'the corporations' or the filthy gangbangers littering the city. He doesn't have an enemy per se, it's not a physical, separate being. Sure he has people on top of his hit list, like Andre Garza - a man who allegedly killed his mother, but even his father wouldn't be considered an enemy.

Vincent himself is his own biggest enemy, the main antagonist in his story; throwing stones under his own legs to make his life more difficult, missing too many chances, backing out last minute, making too many bad choices, always going the hard way instead of the easy, less painful way. If there's one person to blame for all he went through, it's probably Vincent himself.

Ragan Despite being brought up to love and always stand by his family - it's his family who eventually ended up driving him away, becoming an enemy of sorts. Years of repressed feelings and being closeted did a nasty number on him. Ragan, in his teen years, could never feel truly at home with his clan. There are some strong feelings of resentment directed towards his mother and father, but again it's hard to really call them his biggest enemy.

Ray for the longest time considered Vincent his biggest enemy, for not keeping his promise, leaving Ragan hanging when he really needed and counted on him. For stealing his heart and occupying his mind for the next few years after the unhappy ending to their one-year teen romance. He hated him for the lack of closure, for feeling like he only got played by him.

one thing that is worth mentioning is the progress from last year; can't express how proud of myself i am, looking at a piece from 2022 that i absolutely loved (and still do, surprisingly) and a recent one from 2023

the whole creation of this character - Ragan - is something i am proud of as well; i remember him initially starting out as just a background character for Vince, a character that wasn't meant to evolve or have any set design, but now he's one of my main characters and it's been a crazy fucking journey 🤡

the amount of details i put into this seemingly simple looking man (by simple i mean no crazy cyberware, complex tattoos or hairstyles) is just fulfilling; i'm really satisfied with his design, this ref sheet that took me probably over a week to complete but will end up being redrawn in a year or two probably

also the lore for this guy 😭 while still evolving it's pretty complex and detailed (as per usual with any of my characters) and i love who he's become and i'm eager to explore him more and play with him 😌
