sorry if this isn’t really the place to post this, but I’m not really sure where else to go :(
I’ve contacted Dr Lorimer 3 times (may, june, and now nearly 3 weeks ago) and am still waiting for a response and it’s getting harder and harder to not get disheartened and just lose hope that I’ll get to transition soon. it’s really taking a toll on my mental health, so I was wondering if anyone maybe has any advice or something on dealing w this and not losing hope??? or if anyone can suggest what steps I should take next??
Hi Anon,
I’m afraid you will likely be waiting a long time for Lorimer to get back to you. Some of our followers have been waiting more than a year for a response from him.
This is such a long journey and now more people are accessing care privately, the waiting list for private care is longer than it’s ever been.
While you wait for Lorimer also make sure you are on the NHS waiting list. So that you are moving up both lists.
The wait for each stage of this journey is excruciating and the advice I can give you is to try and live your life. Do things that will distract you from the wait. As long as you know you are on waiting lists, there really is nothing more you can do to speed things up.
A good idea while you are waiting is to try to work on your body and your health. This may help you feel you have some control over your journey. This will not only prepare your body to cope with what’s to come but also help you feel that you are ‘masculinising’ your body (if that is your goal).
Unfortunately accepting that you very likely will not be transitioning medically any time soon is going to be important, otherwise you will literally fixate on every day that passes and your mental health will suffer a lot.
It’s essential that you find ways to cope while you wait, whether that be shopping for clothes that make you more comfortable, getting a new haircut, trying STPs, packers and binding, getting your name changed on all your documents etc etc. All of these things take a lot of time and energy but doing them will give you something to work on and feel like you are getting closer to your medical transition.

Stuck With You by 'Nathan Burgoine - A Book Review
Ben isn’t having any of it. When his cell phone is broken while he is visiting his father, Ben survives by sheer will alone. Unable to text his mother or his friends for three weeks has put Ben in a bit of a foul temper. It doesn’t help that his father really doesn’t understand him or bother trying. Ben tells himself that he only has to put up with his father and Toronto for three weeks out of…

hi, i was wondering if anyone could help give me a time frame in regards to getting an appointment with Dr. Lorimer at GenderCare to go on t?
i emailed him at the start of May this year and got a response in mid May asking me to answer the Triage questions, which i did. i haven’t heard back since, just an automated response that my email had been received.
could anyone lmk if/when to expect a response and when my appointment could roughly be?
thank you!!
Can any of our followers offer their experience?

"Midst" Comes to Comics
Tumblr media
Dark Horse, Critical Role, and Third Person are collaborating on a new comic series based on the space-western podcast Midst. Each Midst comic will be an oversized issue featuring a new story and a new creative team. The collection will feature stories throughout the show's timeline.
The first Midst comic, Midst: Address Unknown, will be written by Colin Lorimer, illustrated by Alejandro Aragón, colored by Chris O'Halloran, and lettered by Jim Campbell. Cover art is by William Kirkby.
"When their ramshackle postal ship crashes on a mysterious new landmass, siblings Rowan and Ogden Shearwater have to make the best of it. Adventurous Ogden convinces reluctant Rowan to make a fresh start in the strange new islet that sits between the bright Un and the dark Fold. But Midst holds dangers that will challenge Ogden and Rowan’s family bonds as well as their will to survive." (Dark Horse)
Midst: Address Unknown #1 (of 3) goes on sale on August 14, 2024.
