Panel 3 [Adelaide holding her hand out to Lawrence, and he’s gently shaking it] ADELAIDE: Still, I don’t believe my introductions are superfluous. Adelaide Waite. It’s a pleasure.

Panel 1 [Ezra shrugging, looking at his own hands.] EZRA: I dunno…I feel like we have a good run together on that ship.

Panel 2 [Josué waves him off] JOSÚE: Easy for a mate to say. You're standing above a lot of us.

Panel 3 [Ezra looking out at the scene, away from Josué] EZRA: You could be one, someday. It’s not outta your reach. Those greenies you harass all the time…I was one of them once.

Panel 4 [Josue laying down on his crossed arms, closing his eyes.] JOSUÉ: Nahhh, I don't want that. Just kill enough fish to make us all rich at the end of this.

oh, we sharin Ryder Facts? bc helios ryder is FURIOUS when he finds out that alec kept ellen alive. not furious that there's a chance for his mother, of course, but furious with alec for being such a manchild as to refuse to let ellen die with the dignity that she deserved--a death she'd accepted, a death that helios and eos and maia and beetle were struggling with but that they were getting closer to accepting too, thanks to ellen talking with them, her calm about her own impending end. but alec? couldn't stand loss. so he went against ellen's wishes, kept her in stasis for 600 years on a trip she never planned on, all for his own selfish desire to not lose her. helios was already mad with alec for a lot of reasons. but this just throws gasoline on the fire. it takes a while. but helios accepts that his mom is here now. that there's a chance. and though he's angry with alec for the aforementioned reasons, he's (a little grudgingly) grateful that there's that piece of hope. he justifies it by telling himself that there's no way alec could have predicted kett and scourge and remnant, so there's no way alec had any motivation but his own. helios can still be mad at alec. maybe one day he won't be. but he can be now. (3/3)

(oh and ftr, eos is helios’s twin, and maia and beetle are their younger siblings)

You know those memes that go “that moment when you realize you’re an adult but you need a bigger adult, an adultier adult”? The game wants you to believe Alec is The Adultier Adult but the more you play, the more you realize it’s the opposite. And that makes him an interesting character but obviously, he makes you go through a lot of emotions, anger being the major one.

What made you want to create Maia and Beetle? Are they in Andromeda too with Eos and Helios?

He had about a foot and a half of height on her, but if there was one thing Malice had known about Yalta from day one, it was that her size just meant all that skill and intent was condensed. And she was probably a vector for rabies.

Helios and Eos just seemed like they needed younger siblings. I like the "we're the only family we have left" dynamic of the Ryder twins usually, but I thought Alec and Ellen might have had more children! All of them are named after mythological figures and/or celestial bodies. Helios's name he chose himself, after coming out as trans and to match his twin's name. Eos sometimes jokes that they should have been triplets so they could have had a Selene. (1/2)

Maia is the name of the oldest of the Pleiades. Beetle's name is actually Rigel, but the nickname started when Alec wanted to name the youngest child Betelgeuse and Ellen vetoed it. But Helios and Eos had already picked up on the nickname Beetle, and it stuck.

oh and yes they came to andromeda! i don’t think they’re woken from cryo until late in the game, possibly even after the archon’s defeat

i mean, it’s probably nicer to wake up when he’s done for but i can’t imagine how their siblings are going to summarize everything oO
