fun fact! did you know that there is a lost furby commercial thats only proof of existence is a shitpost from 2006??
in 2006 (maybe 2007) Jeff Chisamore uploaded a funky furby commercial with the song "du hast" playing instead of the original audio and some edits to make it look like furby is singing it. this silly little youtube video has gotten alot of attention in the furby and lost media community over the past few years now because nobody on the internet seems to have the original footage
Jeff Chisamore is aware of the search but no longer has the original footage. hes been incredibly nice to all the people messaging him but HE. DOES. NOT. HAVE. THE. ORIGINAL. FOOTAGE
most people think this commercial aired on nickelodeon due to their previous promotions with furby but nobody knows. however funky furbys were only released in certain countries and since we know its in english it is most likely in a 2006 nickelodeon recording from australia, canada or the UK!
i love weird ass lost media searches like this, nobody would know this commercial existed if it wasnt for a shitpost lmaooo
Hello everyone! Bit of an odd post, (but when are my posts normal) but around this time last year a video popped up on YouTube
This one here, where their was a prototype red snapper furby brought into the pawnstsrs shop, I watched this video. I remember being freaked out about how cool it was. The issue is???? It’s gone now??
I quite literally thought I had hallucinated the episode until I found screenshots in my camera roll. I remember the video in almost perfect detail, but cannot find anything online.
The account that originally posted it was banned from YouTube, and the video was scrubbed from my history. I even went as far as to purchase the supposed episode but the clip is just… not in the episode
I’ve googled and researched but cannot find the episode it’s supposedly from. So I leave the furby fandom with the only screenshot and proof from the episode, aswell as a screenshot of the link I sent to someone freaking out.
about a year or two ago I found this amazing odd body furby (heres a link to a reblog of the post I found), but sadly the original creators blog is no longer on tumblr! I want to find them not only to see more of their amazing work but to also ask about the armature used for it, if anyone knows where I can find them please let me know!!
Edit: we have found one person, but another person would make things quicker!
I am once again seeking furby fans who are fluent in Japanese to help us translate the pieces of Japanese furby lost media we have found before we archive them!!!
fun fact! a furby tv show was being produced in the 2000s, it never aired and is now lost!
in 2005 hasbro released the emototronic furbys (aka 2005 furbys) as a improved sequel of the original 1998 furbys. part of the marketing for the 2005 furbys was the movie furby island. a short low budget poorly animated cgi movie that aired on nickelodeon about a young girl discovering an island of furbys and protecting them from the movies villain.
it was just your average shitty cheap 2000s movie with a generic ass plot however the movie did surprisingly well so a 13 episode nickelodeon series based off the movie began production. the show was made by frederator studios and used the original movie as a pilot
we don’t know how far into production this show got but due to a mix of declining furby sales and nickelodeon’s new president not approving of the shows pitch, the show got heavily pushed back and eventually canceled. the cancelation was officially announced by an employee on reddit
this show was destined to fail. even if it was released not many kids cared about the 2005 furby enough to watch it. however i think it’s a really interesting case of lost media and i hope someday more information about this series will be released to the public!!
(gifs used are from the furby island movie: available on youtube!!)
