sorry i’m actually not shutting up abt how louis has his own rainbow lights every night on tour likeee he did the entire ltwt seeing how the fans brought thousands of pride flags every night and organized rainbow lights projects across the world and now on his second world tour he’s decided to respond to that. to bring his own rainbow lights to the show during his version of a queer club banger too. a song that’s performance is wound together with another inarguably queer anthem, the two of them celebrating love and pain and community and joy and acceptance. and louis saw all of those values in the crowds of his first tour, and how he himself was included in that, and he decided to say yes i see you i’m here with you we’re all one here. and i think that’s a little bit insane of him 🫶🏻

rewatching 2x05 and thinking about louis' motivation in saving daniel. daniel who was in deaths embrace before louis intervened, and doesn't that sound familiar? louis does something careless, people get caught in the crossfire, and scrambling for absolution he cant find in himself he insists to his partner this innocent must be saved

depressed, suicidal, spiraling from the guilt and grief of deeply loving claudia yet not in the ways which counted, here is this boy. this boy who should be dead, this boy who is intertwined with louis at his worst and is in some form a reincarnation of the same hope that prompted louis to turn claudia.

drenched in guilt with low resolve to live, here is proof of redemption. in ruins of homes aflame and families dying because of me, here is a girl i can save. in this apartment of dozens dead in my get high, fuck and kill spree, here is a boy i can save.

what louis did to lestat and what louis did to armand are connected and that's important to the story but also. it is simply not the same. nothing louis did excuses armand's behaviour, that's not how anything works, but he did not "cross a line" or "poke at armand," he weaponized armand's history of abuse to belittle and demean him. nothing armand said to louis came close- the equivalent would have been "oooh, i'm such a stupid bitch that my husband can beat me half to death and i'll keep crawling back for more even when it endangers my daughter!" it's retraumatizing and deeply destabilizing to hear that shit from your partner. and in response armand should have been like "well this man sucks when he's high and he's high all the time, so i'm bouncing" but if he'd done that we wouldn't have a story, would we?

edit: i've come back to give armand credit for "claudia didn't love you like we did/do. ps. u used her to distract from your own hurt feelings" that shit does hit in a similar way. however "the ways someone hurt you have left you contemptible and weak. they scrawled 'dirty and annoying' all over your soul in red ink and it's never coming off" is just outstanding work. timeless
