I scorned #LoveHacks when it first released, but it’s aged really well. It’s a super easy read that you can turn your brain off for and just enjoy. It’s not spectacular or groundbreaking, but it’s endearing, simple, and honestly pretty charming all around. I’d say it’s comfortably mid.

I’ve decided to reboot all my MCs for this year.

It’s not because I hate how they were but because nothing felt stable. I felt like I was confusing myself so I decided to change it.

Plus I want to do more Choices art this year so there’s that.

So with that I grouped some of my MCs into a little family. I’m also doing this as reference!

I’m starting with the descendants of my ACOR MC Bluebell!

Okay I never realized just how truly obnoxious the TRR MC actually was until I replayed #LoveHacks, whose MC shares faces with the TRR MC. This entire playthrough I was just waiting for the MC to be plucky and unserious and annoying and qUiRkY and I had to keep unbracing myself because the #LoveHacks MC, while flawed, is actually rather well-adjusted and mature, whereas the TRR MC will interrupt a ceremony to call the crown regent a big meany bad man, name a boat christened in her daughter’s honor “Boaty McBoatface”, and obsess over fancy hats for seven whole books + a holiday special.
