1 - erectile dysfunction raphael will always be iconic. 2 - laika will always be iconic! 3 - i like how you use sex scenes to put the characters' Neuroses and Issues directly on center stage, pretty much in everything of yours i've read there's a moment where i just CACKLE with how on point it all is

YESSSS its so odd because i feel like i dont really write sex all that often and YET the only published fanfic i have all involves sex.. hm... but yes i love it as its such a revealing (ha) way of looking at a character and their dynamics

thank you!!! love this question!! my answer is constantly changing because i read a lot of awesome fics all the time but for now my top 5 that i’m pulling from my bookmarks are:

1) The Palm of Mystra’s Hand by @loveofdetail i’m always talking about this fic, it’s my favorite pre canon gale fic out there, so well written and well realized!

2) Haunted One by @anderstrevelyan their oc valas is one of my faves, he has such a striking and unique backstory and it folds so perfectly into the world and the characters of bg3, also the writing is so good, the vision so clear, highly recommend!!

3) With bloodied hands, with broken nails by @say-lene a very intense look at gortash’s final days, the writing is SO GOOD i rotate this fic in my head all the time

4) a sensitive conduit by @smoreofbabylon the fic that got me into galeheart lol read this and get sucked in, the characterization is so clear here it’s like an extension of the game

5) Monster, mine by @mightymizora sexualizing the monstrous and doing a great job of it, also home of the world famous orange feeding scene 😭 which i think about constantly lol

yo ho ho if you read comics & manga but always found it to be a pain in the ass to source online, here's the aggregator app of your dreams: tachiyomiJ2K. real. not clickbait. android only tho. the extensions mangacute, mangadex, allanime, and mangareader, are good places to start. as a creator, i'm always iffy about recommending this kind of thing because i'd much prefer you went out and brought the things you're reading, however i'm not under any illusions about which era we're in, media-wise and economy-wise

ways of seeing - mini-documentary so profoundly changed the way i think that i had been wanting to revisit it and so was delighted to find its all on youtube. if you're an artist or want to improve your ability to critically think about what you're seeing in media, this is a must-see. link or embedded>

FUCKING GOOD AND CHEAP GREEN TEA price comment won't apply to everyone this site offers great prices for high quality tea direct from the farm. been buying from here for years and its always amazing - i love the houjicha/roast green tea, and if you like green tea but always wish it was stronger without sacrificing taste or becoming bitter, i recommend genmaicha matcha-iri, which uses matcha to intensify the flavour. yum

incense body powder being a perfume nerd who is prone to migraines sucks. if you like spices and good incense - not the $2 kind that you use to hide cigs from your parents but rather the kind that smells like wandering into a forest temple - you'll love incense body powder. it lasts well and i'd most compare it to a softer, more gourmand comme des garçons Incense series 3 kyoto. shoyeido is the easiest to source as far as i can tell, but other brands make it too. USD$11 - cheaper than even cheap perfumes tbh - the bag will last you years. if you try this please tell me i'd love to know what you think!

OCs as types of suffering

Good morning! I was tagged by @gwynbleidd and @katsigian in the past couple days to complete this uquiz as my OCs. thanks for tagging me 🫡🧡 I decided to take it as my silly little family from my silly little world because my world is all I'm thinking about lately as far as OC stuff goes….. and honestly I feel like these results gave me even more insight to how my characters operate and how they complement each other. Especially Kilian's result i think shows me a side to his already existing sadness that I hadn't considered enough before; i think a lot about his anger but not as much about his sadness, so this is exciting to explore. It was fun!!

This is just a tiny slither from Clever Boy

He returns, sooner than perhaps Haarlep assumed he would, if they really thought he would come back at all. He is quite a sight, with a blooming bruise across the bridge of his nose and a blooded eye.

“And so he is back in my arms! Very good. Are you quite sure you’re ready this time? One disappointment I can forgive, but I will not have my time wasted.”

The boy says nothing, but pulls his clothes roughly from his body himself. It reveals a great sea of bruises, one particularly dark across the ribs, an odd black and yellow tint to it.

He notices their stare. “My jailor had opinions on my activities, as you can see.”

“He didn’t like it much, I take it?”

“He liked it enough, until he didn’t.”

Currently reading: Elliot Page's memoirs with my first ever book club, but we had our meeting yesterday and everyone agreed the book was deeply unpleasant and also a bummer so we're probably dropping it. Anyone have any suggestions for our next book? We're thinking fiction, possibly a short story anthology, preferably something queer? And not a bummer?

Current obsession: well, @sigilmint has been doing little tours of Dunwall/Karnaca for me to see stuff I missed or didn't know about or just plain didn't remember, so my ever-present Dishonored obsession has been at the fore lately. When I finish the third season of the Witcher I'm gonna spiral about that too, I'm sure. In real life I'm obsessing over a renovation project I'm trying very hard to make happen. That one's less fun.

I think about this every time an actor’s looks are criticised in any piece of media, thicker skin than I.  Love that Larry gave them his actual nickname to use though, now that is making sacrifices for art.

i don't play fr anymore so it took a few seconds for the context of this to sink in. and let me tell you those few seconds were HIGHLY entertaining

@loveofdetail Today is the day of hilarious sentences that make sense in context of FR and sound horrifying outside of it. Someone in a discord I am in wrote about a dragon: ‘He is wearing my friend’s skin’. And it totally makes sense in FR context in a FR chatroom, but IRL it would probably scare the hell out of any random passerby who had the misfortune overhearing that.

i can’t evaluate The Light at the End as one thing; i LOVE the high chaos version, and yet in low chaos it’s soooooo boring

oh absolutely, hc light at the end whips ass... but imo from like, an environmental perspective (not just level design!), death to the empress hits harder for me. it feels realer! the addition of civilians into the last level of the game means a lot imo. and the fact it’s bookending the beginning of the game, using the same maps, yet it’s completely different... the same ambient music and sound effects used in the first game/at the beginning of dh2... ugh... i just love it
