In the aosth, Robotnik was so obsessed with Lucinda that he locked up Lucas for 30 years straight and still wanted to marry her. I wondered why he was so smitten with her until I realized that maybe she was the only one in high school who have genuinely given him kindness in his life. Considering who his mom was or his dad nowhere to be seen he might not have had a great childhood. On top of the conditioning to be a bully and his appearance he might gotten bullied himself retaliating through his machines. Perhaps not knowing what type of person he is she might have stood up for him against a bully or perhaps talked about science when sitting together at the lunch table. He probably didn’t know how to respond to this kindness since it is foreign to him. Probably waiting for her to ask him to do her homework or something only to be asked to hangout at the mall or other teen activities. He might have thought this was love when in reality she was trying to be a good friend. Either way he was definitely nervous when he was about to meet her again.

I love this because despite being in aosth's canon, it's very similar to Snively’s upbringing. He had a father and no mother, and came from an abusive home. (To cut it short) No wonder why Robotnik in the SatAM canon would take him in. He's young and impressionable, and he already looks up to his uncle. Perfect for manipulating.

(Actually, bringing Lucinda in the mix, Aosth's Botnik in that story is a lot like this sort of fanfic/lore dump of my one human Sonic Oc, Ann. I posted that doc here a while ago.)

Iirc, Scratch and Grounder didn't know about Lucas/Lucinda, and seeing that they commonly mistake love for abuse, I wonder if, when Botnik briefed them, that was their first thought?

While Aosth robotnik is obviously not as interesting (scintillating even) the same way Satam robotnik is, one thing thing I do find intriguing is the implication that the AoSTH doc has been at if for much longer than most incarnations (given that lucas had been imprisoned for 30 years)

That’s nothing- when he was an infant he captured his nanny and enslaved the nursery he was a part of. That guy was a bad egg from the very start.

aosth episode 13 wrap-up

i quite liked this episode!

in this episode, sonic and tails bust into robotnik’s base and free this guy named lucas who has been there for 30 years.

why was he there for 30 years? because this girl named lucinda liked lucas more than she did robotnik, and robotnik got pissed off. (waaay back in high school for them)

sonic and tails help lucas search for lucinda, but robotnik still wants to marry her and goes over to her schoolhouse and knocks on the door

instead of lucinda, he finds sonic in a wedding dress but doesn’t realize its him so they go to a chapel to get married anyway. (is. is sonic legally married to robotnik now?). anyway sonic throws cake on him and throws him out.

lucas and lucinda get married and sonic is the best man hedgehog

As the ships that received the first and second most submissions, Robotnik/Agent Stone and Eggman/Starline have been placed on opposite sides of the grid to each other, in the top left and top right respectively. They have both been given easy first matches against a ship that received only one nomination Since we had four ships that tied for third place (Eggman/Bowser, Eggman/Wily, Eggman/himself (General) and Eggman/no one) that worked out nicely for organising them, so two each have been placed on the bottom left and bottom right sides of the grids. I broke it up so that each side would have one popular crossover and one non-ship Eggman ship - so Eggman/Wily and Eggman/himself have been placed on the bottm left and Eggman/Bowser and Eggman/no one have been placed on the bottom right We had a large amount of crossovers submitted, so unlike the Sonic tournament where they were grouped together, for this tournament the crossovers have been spread out across the whole grid Same goes for all the various Eggman/himself variants. There should be at least one on every corner of the grid Since most ships only received one or two submissions, the match-ups are more random this time. A few have been stuck together because I thought it'd be funny or they have a similar theme, but mostly they're random We have one single threeway poll in this tournament, which has been placed at the bottom of the grid. This is "Dr. Eggman/King Candy vs Dr. Eggman/Satan (Puyo Puyo) vs Dr. Eggman/Rick Sanchez" as they were all crossover ships that received a single nomination
