I did all three backstories for Touchstarved (I have 12 hours on this thing and it's only the demo)
Kuras and Vere don't seem to have red options, but Vere does have a secret ending and Kuras... I don't know, holds you for a bit longer?
For Mhin, it really is just picking The Alchemist backstory. You can call them short or whatever and you'll still get it.
For Leander, you have to take the flowers and keep touching him. It's okay if you hold back the first time even.
For Ais, you gotta tell him fuck you and pet the soulless, and after that red option pretty much all yours.
Differences I found between the three backstories:
It is pretty much like how they tell you, Oracle gets premonitions, Hound has experience with people and survival, and Alchemist has knowledge about magic and science, so there's different things you find out with each one.
The Alchemist:
I may be a little bit biased, but think The Alchemist is the most informative (It's also the first one I picked). There's the expected info of noticing that Vere's collar is enchanted, or knowing about how strong Leander really is when it comes to magic, but it's got the added bonus of MC's mentor having been in the Senobium in the past.
Compared to the others, The Alchemist is more familiar with Senobium, albeit through word of mouth. It's interesting how many times the MC says something similar to "I didn't know the Senobium did that." It calls into question whether MC's teacher was lying, or more interestingly (and what I think might be the case), the Senobium has changed a lot recently. It's talked about, even without the Alchemist backstory, that the Senobium used to be somewhere you could go to for help, but now most of the characters you meet do not like the Senobium, so what changed?
The Hound:
The Hound (the least popular option, apparently) was pretty fun. The Hound notices more about Ais, specifically that he's very suited to be a leader, and that the number of scars he has (one) seems suspicious for his temperament (or "how seasoned he acts", as the MC puts it).
One thing that I found very fun was doing Mhin's route as the Hound. They're somewhat able to keep up! They can (or tried to) recognize tells, and noted that Mhin was one of the few people who was able to sneak up on them. They also weren't sure how Vere managed to get their key. They were also prepared to steal to survive.
The Oracle:
While The Hound notices physical things, the Oracle notices... how do you say, otherworldly things. The Seaspring seems to be hiding a lot (of course it is), but the MC notices a heartbeat. A presence. They feel something from Ais. The name Ocudeus means something, they can feel it. They feel like they can see Ais' tattoo move.
Also, the MC feels something from Mhin and Kuras (in his clinic at least), which is interesting!
If I had to decide which love interest was better with which backstory...
Vere: The fact that the Alchemist thought that they could tell what enchantments were on his collar if only they could touch it feels promising! And both their connections (though I mean connection in the loosest term for MC here) to the Senobium makes it feel like you might very well find something.
The Hound might be one of the few who can actually survive this guy if I'm gonna be honest. (I mean you can still get killed by him but. You know.)
Ais: The Oracle's sixth sense makes going to the Seaspring a lot more interesting compared to the others, and the way they can feel something from Ais is very cool.
The Hound can tell his character better than the others, and I wonder how that will come into play later on.
Kuras: The Alchemist knows their way around spell-crafting and alchemy (When I picked this I wondered if they would be able to help Kuras around the clinic, which doesn't happen, but hey it might).
The Oracle seems to also feel something from him.
Mhin: First things first, their red option literally requires you to have the Alchemist backstory. Mhin's precision is noticed by the other MCs sure, but not to that detail.
Watching the Hound observe where they could be was so fun to watch. It feels like this MC will be able to keep up.
The Oracle feels something from Mhin, something inhuman.
Leander: The Alchemist was able to tell that the flash of magic was a barrier spell, and that most magic (or at least the ones they're familiar with) uses an incantation or spell circle. His didn't.
But either way, there will be things to find no matter the backstory you choose, and all of the character's stories are intertwined, so don't let this dissuade you from a specific backstory! There will always be things to find, you just need to look.
Extra: I found it pretty cool how each MC has a different way of knowing what a Groupmind is. Story-wise this makes sense of course, but each of their reactions to it are slightly different, from I heard this from rumours of people in cults (Hound), to I used to be told I could put people in a groupmind (Oracle), to legends suggest it was possible with a strong enough catalyst but it's never been done before (Alchemist).
Also, it's interesting to know what they each think of surroundings (specifically the Amaryllis district). They all have different opinions from I used to be told bizarre things about this place and now I kinda get it (Alchemist), to it's not that different from the place I grew up in (Hound), to it's VERY different from where I grew up in (Oracle).
And if I'm not mistaken, the reason Vere gives for your desperation is different for all of them!
You can find gameplay from me on my Youtube channel, or watch me getting all the red options and secret ending here:

I didn't read it out loud cause my mic sorta sucks and sometimes it peaks and gets a bit shrill. Also you see how my mouse moves sometimes? It means I'm screaming. I don't think I'd have been able to keep calm enough for this. Also my reading kinda sucks anyway hope you like it lol

Something romantic I saw in Obey Me:
In the interactive meetings with Lucifer, when you get "perfect" interactions, he often gifts MC a raven feather.
And in spiritual symbolism guardian angels often leave white feathers to the person they protect. It is a sign of good luck and protection to find white feathers.
So the fact that Lucifer is the one to most likely give a raven feather means that he swears to protect you. And that he wants to be MC's guardian.

how to promote your fic 101:
link your fic on your social media (Tumblr, Twitter, etc) when it’s posted (duh)
talk to other authors and readers in your fandom (on Tumblr, Twitter, Discord) and start up friendships with them
like/reblog/share fics from other authors in your fandom occasionally
offer up your time as a beta reader or copywriter
give interesting updates on the writing process (funny line, writers block, new idea, etc)
crosspost to fandom Discord channels
participate in review exchanges (GREAT way to start!)
update as consistently or regularly as you can, and be transparent about this timeline with readers
pinch hit for challenges or co-write with other authors who offer
ask large fandom blogs if they’d be willing to read your fic — sometimes they will share afterwards, but you can’t always expect this (also please be polite)
engage your ao3 commenters (but don’t be pushy!)
take constructive criticism, but don’t bend your own ideas and loves just because someone doesn’t like them
keep writing!!

This isn't really related to her smashability, but since I've never really seen the Official 3D Renders of Gardevoir, I somehow wasn't aware that she actually had legs (I've seen art of her with legs, but people also draw her with H cups so I more took it as people being horny) and I don't wanna say I'm disappointed because it would be weird to be that invested in whether or not a pokemon has legs but it would be cooler character design wise
I think leg and legless designs are both good but tbh I don’t think she was SUPPOSED to have legs and I think that was changed when 3D games were made

So I was sitting around with my roommates and we got to talking while watching this series for the dozenth time and my roommate pointed something out to me.
Tumblr media
She said this, this scene by the stairs feels familiar to the one where they are dancing on the day they skip class.
And after looking at it from behind my rose tinted glasses I turned to look at her and said "Maybe that's the moment he falls in love with her."
"Why do you think that?"
Well... From the way she places her hands on his chest is indeed much like when they kissed by the stairs, but I think that, that particular moment at the party is shown from Jane's POV. She seized the momnet and I will alwasy cheer for her when she does.
And when they are skipping class here, he again is the one standing still, not taking his eyes off of her as she moves towards him, but the camera tilts towards her from his side as she kisses him.
His world is literally tilting on its axis for her... Like. He's falling, slow but steady.
I also like to think that since we got a cut away from their kiss by the stairs, that this is how their second kiss ended. The way his hand lifts to hold her waist, how he responds in kissing her back. I'm also of the mind to think that the way their song ends, is how he was holding her when their 'stair kiss' ended. Close, nose to nose and smiling at one another.
Just.. These two give me all the warm and fuzzies.

hi! this is not really a question. i read what you wrote following 10x4 for Nancy Drew. and i want to thank you, because i have been feeling confused, and upset, and lost, and you just made me re-open my eyes on the fact that this is what the writers of this show do. so thank you, it feels like a weight off my chest
You are so so welcome! I'm so glad that my ramblings may have eased some of the confusion and upset over the season.
I completely get why these last two episodes have been upsetting. It's felt weird and off kilter and disjointed. But I honestly think that's been deliberate and is part of a larger story arc they're telling.
To anyone who is having a moment about what in the whatstickles is going on this season, where is the Nace of it all, why are they all acting weird, I just want to say "season 2".
Nancy was acting weird, isolating herself, generally being a bit not ok and counterintuitive to how we expected her to, and then at about this point in the season (I can't remember which episode and don't have time to check at this moment) we discover that the wraith had attached to her in episode one.
Suddenly you go back and re-watch and all of those little moments, the tiny crumbs they'd left for us make a fantastic and jaw dropping whole.
That's why I love these writers, that's why I trust these writers, and I truly truly believe that we're going to come out the end of this season and be able to go back and re-watch and see the crumbs they've left for us. We're going to get the oh snap moment. And it's going to be fab.

does monstrous agonies have an overarching plot?
it does have some overarching plot!! and while for now I believe that most episodes can be listened to as stand-alones, it's not the case for all of them so I would still recommend listening to them in order,
definitely worth trying it out for the vibe in anyway,

Ok, I'm not over Neil Gaiman's post about the appearance swap and, obviously, I had to watch that moment again.
youtube
(the "big energy miracle" starts at 7:03 of the you tube video)
Here instead a little gif:
Tumblr media
(gif from here @mimisempai)
I have always been fascinated by the "swap back" and I have tried to find which vfx (visual effects) are involved in that shot.
Unfortunately, I'm not one of those special magician so I can have just a couple of polite guesses (Vfx side of Tumblr, please, feel free to comment and correct my mistakes).
Ok, at first I thought it was just a bit or morphing but... ...it wasn't just that.
Tumblr media
This is the starting point with just a bit of the miracle going on (at their wrists): you can see that those are David's hand at the left and Michael's one on the right.
And we can see the same hands few frames later when the miracle spreads.
Tumblr media
Why is this important? Because there is a "colour changing" (I don't know if it could be called a "colour grading") at first and not a morphing (you can see the wrinkles, sizes and position are the same: just beige where there was black with the opposite going on Aziraphale).
Tumblr media
(Crowley's hand is just a bit "paler")
Tumblr media
You can also see that the lapels are still unchanged. Aziraphale's bowtie and shirt are starting to disappear, becoming more skin tone.
Here is when it is starting the morphing time:
Tumblr media
(sorry, I couldn't resist)
Tumblr media
Crowley's glasses and silver tie are starting to appear on Aziraphale.
And On Crowley, his tie is starting to change in the Angel's bowtie and shirt.
Tumblr media
(It feels strange seeing Aziraphale with red hair and a blond Crowley)
Last few changes:
Tumblr media
(just the glasses)
And then we are done:
Tumblr media
There is some blurring at the "edges" of the two supernatural beings that helps in my opinion with the idea of a miracle happening and to smooth the morphing. In my opinion they had the right idea to use a colour changing before the morphing (it helps the changing for our eyes),
I really loved how the transition was done with a camera moving: it makes the change even better (than a static shot).
I think they shot the same moviment twice: one with Micheal on the right side (and David on the left) and the other time they switched sides.
Btw, really cool trick!
Oh, a little thing that i noticed before the swapping:
Tumblr media
It's just my theory but i think that is, dear friends, his underwear!
I suppose he's wearing a sort of long johns (or long underwear).
I don't know if it was Michael Sheen's idea to not die in the cold or something the costume department had thought Aziraphale needed (to achieve the proper Victorian silhouette), but now i want to see the angel dressed like this:
Tumblr media
(I'm absolutely not thinking of Aziraphale in "The Bathtub" dressing like that).
If it was a "costume design", I may know someone who could be really happy (yes, she is Bernadette Banner).
Back on the swap, I adore Aziraphale's little wiggles!
Tumblr media
I think that's all!

!! To me, the word Reminiscence fits Desmond Miles rather well.
Today, in literature class, we studied a text (an excerpt, really) written by Marcel Proust, dated from the beginning of the twentieth century (1913), whose title is “On the side of Swann” (very unsure of the translation as it is from French to English, and I know book titles tend to change from a language to another).
We arrived at the moment of concluding the analysis of this famous text, in which Proust tells us how he rediscovered a joyful memory, buried far in the "iceberg of his person", passed through a spoon of hot tea in which a piece of madeleine seemed to have melted. When he tasted this spoon of tea (which he was not in the habit of having in the evening), mixed with this piece of madeleine, it triggered a phenomenon of reminiscence.
When our teacher defined this word and its meaning to us, she described it as something distant, things which come back to us through a smell or a sensation: something which passed through the senses and which forged our memory of past events, more or less happy, that could be found in one way or another.
I immediately thought of Desmond and the fact that, through a machine, he lived several lives. (In some way...) I thought it was interesting to imagine him experiencing this kind of thing, with elements that don't necessarily date from his own life but from that of his ancestors, reinforced with the Bleeding Effect. It could be a taste, something that one of his ancestors liked to eat, a scent, a feeling of deja vu or something else that would resonate with him and remind him of Altair or Ezio, for example.
I may or may not be going *too* far, perhaps it has already been mentioned or imagined by someone else, or it was obvious. Nevertheless, with all the known negative and traumatic effects of the Bleeding Effect, of these tangled memories, from different eras, I thought it was worth pointing it out! (although bittersweet in a way </3)
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. /pos
(I am open to any comments/remarks!)

Do we ever see Ozai actually care about stopping Aang?
Honestly, other than Zuko, does he ever send out ANYONE to find the Avatar??
Zhao stumbles across him and kinda sorta adds 'get the Avatar' to his 'to do' list, as like a potential hobby he can pick up during his actual job of harassing Zuko and killing the moon. The siege of the North is a much bigger deal to him, and it seems that Aang being there is a convenient happenstance, not the main reason for the invasion.
Then, Azula is sent to capture Zuko and Iroh, runs into Aang and decides to switch targets. She is never told to go after him by the Firelord.
The Fire Nation soldiers in the Earth Kingdom don't really look for him, they just kinda react when he shows up but no one is proactively seeking him out.
Even the Rough Rhinos, they are sent after Iroh and Zuko I think, and just decide to throw hands when they happen across the GAang.
Like... do we ever see this man actually assign someone to capture the Avatar? (Zuko doesn't count) Even Zuko hires an assassin after Aang, which is move than Ozai ever does.
Intentional or not, this shows just how over-confident and egotistical Ozai was, to not even really feel threatened by the Avatar's return.

somebody tell me: did the calamity box send them to where they would thrive best or did it send them to where they needed to be to learn a lesson?
i personally think it's a mix of the both, but maybe more of the latter because sasha learned how to lead for the greater good and not her selfish interests, anne learned how to do things not only for others but because she wanted to and marcy learned self-confidence... to am extent?
