A Word from God about being lukewarm.

I got into the shower today, and while I was waiting for the water to get hot, it seemed like it was never going to get there. I started to ponder on if it was going to be like the week before, where the hot water was out for that day. My disappointment increased, and I asked the Lord to teach me a lesson at that moment. This is what He gave me. He reminded me of being back home in Jamaica, where in my house, bathing with cold water was my normal. I was never disappointed when getting into the shower because I knew what to expect. Yet, here I was, acting as if I was not used to a cold shower. The truth is, I was upset because, for the past four (4) years, I have been taking hot showers. So, whenever I jump into the shower, I expect hot water, and anything less is disappointing. I believe it is the same for the Lord. He says, “But since you are like lukewarm water, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth!” Revelations 3:16. The Lord calls us to be hot for Him. Just as how I expected hot water when I got into the shower, as His children, His desire for us is to seek His holiness, never wavering. Saints, let’s not be lukewarm, let’s not grieve our Savior’s heart. Strive to be holy, as He is holy.

Political correctness has caused so much to Christians. While we remain silent because we don’t want to hurt anyone, the devil is not remaining silent. The devil is invading the world of entertainment and our schools with pornography, sexual immorality, drugs, homosexuality and evil practices. In the aim of not “hurting” anyone with the truth of God’s Word, we’ve remained silent for too long, and now these evil things are gaining more and more ground. It’s time to stand up against these things, not just in prayer but also through our speech. Jesus didn’t just pray, He also went out and changed people’s lives. He wasn’t afraid to be “harsh” when He spoke to the “religious” leaders at that time. It’s time for us to throw political correctness in the dust bin and to start quoting Bible verses. Spread The Word of God just as it is written in The Bible, don’t try to make it “softer”. Just spread The Word and let The Holy Spirit touch hearts. Do you remember the parable of the sower in Matthew 13 ? Do you think any of those seeds would have grown in good soil if he hadn’t sown? You first have to sow. Spread The Word of God as it is, don’t try to water it down. Some will fall in good ground, others not, but at least you would have done what was to be done. Spread The Word of God. Unfortunately it seems like many Catholics today only focus on the Corporal Works of Mercy and brush aside the Spiritual Works of Mercy. Despite the fact that Jesus Christ himself said that he is the Truth (John 14:6) they have become lukewarm to the Truth and believe that the Truth is not as important as practicing the Corporal Works of Mercy. To these Catholics it is unimportant if Christians have differing/opposing beliefs despite what is written in 1 Corinthians 1:10 or Jesus's prayer for unity amongst his followers in John 17:21. No, they believe that, despite having contrary beliefs on what Jesus Christ taught, all Christians worship the same Jesus Christ and that it doesn't matter if the Catholic Church believes in the Real Presence, The Authority of the Bishop of Rome, praying for the intercession of the Saints, infant baptism is valid and the other dogmatic teachings of the Church are True but others claim that those beliefs are unbiblical and in error. To them all that matters is if one calls themselves Christian then we don't need to share the Truth with them or help them to become members of the Church founded by Jesus Christ. To them Christian beliefs are all equally true even if they contradict each other. They believe that we can go and practice the Corporal Works of Mercy and ignore the Truth, disregard Jesus's words at the Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20; Mark 16:15,16) to teach all that he commanded, baptize all nations, we can show the love of Jesus Christ to others and disregard the need for baptism or the Truth. No, if we truly love others then we need to practice both the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy and not neglect one over the other. If we truly love Jesus Christ then the Truth should be of the utmost importance to us because Our Lord and Savior tells us that he is the Truth.
