OK I've followed you for awhile now so I hope its not weird to send an ask out of the blue. I just thought you might think it was cool/wondered if you knew that there's a whole new group of people being exposed to Peter due to "M" being featured thematically in the SFM horror/surrealist film "Emesis Blue" that just came out. It's just crazy and awesome to me to see Peter Lorre stuff/"M" analysis coming from the side of my dash that's usually all TF2 memes. Sorry for the random ask, just thought it was cool!

Also I did not know! That is so cool!!! I always love how Lorre reappears in the public conscience in the strangest ways - either through old Looney Tunes animations for those of us who grew up with VHS tapes, or the Genie in Disney's Aladdin, or in various kid's shows like Ren and Stimpy and recently Spongebob/Patrick Starr show, and now again in this! I'm gonna have to check out Emesis!

On an eerie note, because I'm a spooky dude, I half remember a quote by Lorre where he said he wanted to act forever. Considering how he seems to always resurface in many different ways long after he died, that wish must have come true…

If you know the 1931 Fritz Lang movie "M," Jon J. Muth actually adapted it to a graphic novel by literally just taking shots from the film and putting word balloons in them and arranging them into comic pages. It was actually this book I read before seeing the movie, and I thought it was kinda dull, so I thought the film would be dull too.

But the film is actually way better in its intended format! The film doesn't even have a music score (which works well for the suspense), so it's not like the graphic novel left out a lot. It makes me wonder what was so different about the novel to make the story just die between the pages. A film or comic buff would probably be able to point out the nuances in pacing, acting, formatting, and other aspects that make or break storytelling.
