This 8-core MacPro first went online in 2007. It’s first project was The Case of the Singing Sword: A Billibub Baddings Mystery podcast. Since then, it’s produced... Over fifteen books Three Kickstarter Campaigns Five book trailers Four business development video pitches Ten Audible books Hundreds (if not thousands) of hours in podcasting ...and a massive amount of hours in the Adobe Creative Suite. 14 years of creativity. This mighty Mac owes me absolutely nothing, and it still runs. However, it’s time to upgrade. I am officially taking it offline (for now, may turn it into a server) and replacing it (and my seven year old MacBook Pro) with a brand new MacBook, sporting the new M1 chip. And I’m taking time to even incorporate a bit of cable management into the studio. This has been my weekend, and now, I’m looking ahead to the new projects ahead I’ll be creating on this new Mac. Here we go. #tech #technology #upgrade #macbookpro #macgeek #apple #studio #endofanera (at Manassas, Virginia) https://www.instagram.com/p/CPgz6DNDs_F/?utm_medium=tumblr

Evening all a night where I wish that children did not have such easy access to information like they do sometimes the best intentions outrule other actions Protection is the key an we gotta get it right. Anyway the question is D.Y.K that on October 1st 1889 IBM incorporated – Bundy Manufacturing? 1889 – The Bundy Manufacturing Co., a maker of time recording equipment, was incorporated in Binghamton, N.Y. Willard L. Bundy created a new type of timeclock for business. Bundy Manufacturing Co. Bundy was acquired by the Computing-Tabulating-Recording Company, Inc. (C-T-R) in 1911. Thirteen years later, the name would change one more time to International Business Machines (IBM). 1982 - The first commercial compact disc player, the Sony CDP-101, went on sale in Japan, The Sony CDP-101 was the world's first commercially released compact disc player. The system was launched in Japan at a list price of 168,000 yen (approx US$730). The Japan-only launch was partially because Philips, Sony's partner in the development of the CD format, was unable to meet the original agreed launch date. Rather than agree a full postponement, Sony agreed to delay the launch of the format outside Japan by six months. The Philips CD100 launched in November 1982, although early Philips players contained some Sony components. In line with the agreement, the system was launched worldwide in March 1983. 2008 - Text Messaging Was A Possible Factor in Fatal Train Wreck, A Metrolink engineer at the helm of a commuter train in Los Angeles, California, was found to have been text messaging someone seconds before colliding with a freight train. 25 people were killed in the accident and numerous others were injured. Many states have passed laws enforcing hands-free only cellular use. That's all for today folks 👍👍 #TerrierByteIT #Wifeidge #D.Y.K #bundymanufacturingcompany #computerhistory #history #technology #computers #computerscience #geek #tech #retro #techhistory #technologyhistory #retrotech #nerd #trivia #vintagecomputer #computinghistory #oldschool #macgeek #bocahistory #historyoftechnology #oldtech #thisdayinhistory #computerhistorymuseum #computer #vintage #museum #cdp101

Been doing client repairs so not had chance to post but still time lol here we have our daily D.Y.K ?? !!!! D.Y.K On September 4th 1927 AI Pioneer John McCarthy was Born?? John McCarthy, whose many contributions to the field of computer science included the language LISP, was born in Boston. After attending Cal Tech and Princeton University, McCarthy developed LISP -- the first computer language designed for writing Artificial Intelligence (AI) programs -- while a professor at MIT. He taught at Stanford University for most of his career. LISP made great strides in providing a flexibility of information essential for AI programming, a result that pleased McCarthy, who once said: “We should try to make AI systems as good as children.” McCarthy is a 1999 Computer History Museum Fellow. Keep reading now for no 2 ✔️✔️👍 Back on September 4th 2008 Apple Removed “Pull My Finger” Application ! A letter was published from the creator of “Pull my Finger” iPhone application from Apple. The program was simple – you pull the finger and a rude sound was created (You can guess the sound). The said letter read as follows: We’ve reviewed your application Pull My Finger. We have determined that this application is of limited utility to the broad iPhone and iPod touch user community, and will not be published to the App Store. It may be very appropriate to share with friends and family, and we recommend you review the Ad Hoc method on the Distribution tab of the iPhone.. There we have it thanks for reading see you tomorrow for more 👋👍👍 #TerrierByteIT #Wifeidge #computerhistory #internet #programming #vintageapple #oldtech #thisdayinhistory #macgeek #historyoftechnology #internethistory #livingcomputers #livingcomputermuseum #computinghistory #software #electronics #oldschool #oldcomputer #retrocomputing #trivia #retrocomputer #retrotech #museum #technologyhistory #informationtechnology #apple #techhistory #retro #geek #history

Evening everyone a later post today today I have been doing updates on my devices and clearing out and archiving all those pics I took over the sunnet. We also have done a a few if the getting back to normal tasks like the food shopping and sorting the kids school uniform. It's busy busy over the next few weeks as we settle back to normal things. Right into my D.Y.K for today . D.Y.K that on August 26th 1984 Miss Manners Addressed Computer Correspondence? Miss Manners confronted a new realm of etiquette in her August 26 column as she responded to a reader's concern about typing personal correspondence on a personal computer. The concerned individual said that using the computer was more convenient but that they were worried about the poor quality of her dot-matrix printer and about copying parts of one letter into another. Miss Manners replied that computers, like typewriters, generally are inappropriate for personal correspondence. In the event a word processor is used, she warned, the recipient may confuse the letter for a sweepstakes entry. And, she noted, if any one of your friends ever sees that your letter to another contains identical ingredients, you have will no further correspondence problems. Judith Martin (née Perlman, born September 13, 1938, better known by the pen name of Miss Manners, is an American journalist, author, and etiquette authority. Judith Martin was Born September 13th 1938 in Washington, DC, U.S.A Since 1978, she has written an advice column, which is distributed three times a week by Universal Uclick and carried in more than 200 newspapers worldwide.  In the column, she answers etiquette questions contributed by her readers and writes short essays on problems of manners, or clarifies the essential qualities of politeness. #TerrierByteIT #Wifeidge #D.Y.K #MissManners #computerhistory #history #technology #computers #computerscience #geek #tech #retro #techhistory #technologyhistory #retrotech #nerd #trivia #vintagecomputer #computinghistory #oldschool #macgeek #bocahistory #historyoftechnology #oldtech #thisdayinhistory #computerhistorymuseum #computer #vintage #museum
