News from Ilmie: She is a Machinist now :-D

Well, only level 43 right now, but I got over the level quite good today. And I think it is nice gameplay-wise (at level 43, I could test it with Yorina, she has it at lvl 90 but relearning it is a good idea I guess ^^)

So, why is she a Machinist now? Because I simply don't like her "canon job" anymore. She is a Bard and I like the idea for her biography - and I like the Bard's aesthetics. What I simply dislike is the gameplay.

And ofc I could simply play her as Dragoon or Gunbreaker. but... it doesn't fit. I can't think of her as Dragoon or Gunbreaker. So I try out something new.

And I should take some nice screenshots of Machnist-Ilmie - simply forgot it today ^^

I'm curious, how does comic scripting differ from normal writing. You talk about comics alot so I'm just curious

Okay for starters, it depends on the person. I'm a newbie at comic writing and most of my comic writing is catered to me. How I write for myself doing comics and how I write if I was doing it for another artist is completely different lmao.

But also when it comes to comic scripting, there is ONE ACTION per panel. It's not like story writing where you can have a whole paragraph of different actions happening at once.

The trick is to have enough descriptions that the artist has an idea of what you want on the page. I have an example!

So this is a part of a comic script I did for one of my classes:

It's not like a one to one cause there are some things that I just didn't add (due to laziness but also I was on a deadline). But also putting like references for poses also helps too!

So yeah, this is just how I do comic scripting.

And yes this is a FF14 fancomic I did for my class. And yes FF14 there are GUNS, my bunny boy is an Machnist in this comic and the written canon that I have for him.

My frenzy for Relic Weapons and equivalents isn't limited to just Combat classes. While I've completed all available steps of all available relic weapons for Dragoon, Machnist, Red Mage, Gunbreaker, and Sage, and am closing in on completion of the level 70 Relic to add Monk to that list, I'm also trying to get all the fully upgraded master tools for Siege's favorite crafting and gathering jobs.

In this case, that's Culinarian first, featured above, followed by Fisher (which will take me a while even with level 90 stats and gear), followed by Carpenter. I also already completed the Skybuilders' Tool for Botanist, but don't consider it a "canon" job for Siege, and probably won't do whatever the level 90 equivalent is when they add them.

seems like the attitude towards unions on this site is uncritical jerking off. like they're seen as a desirable end, not a means. within this framework i cannot, for instance, figure out how you understand things like the american machnist union cheerleading for a higher defence budget and more spending because a fuckton of them work on F-35s. unions should be viewed as simply amoral rather than like...the quasi-mystical state internet posters elevate them to. it's not like there is any guarantee they will only collectively bargain for things that are in the public interest or even like, ethically acceptable.

Roxas: samurai, ninja, red mage - the best strat is to kill things asap — “you can’t make me play Lalafell shut up.” Plays Au Ra, male, Raen.

Xion: war(rior) what is it good for, let me show you — Lalafell, plainsfolk — wears a ghost costume. Mog station fiend. Korpokkur Kolossus Apologist.

Namine: 🍊 DPS percentile as white mage on KHlogs - Plays Lalafell - dunesfolk, metallic dyes. Her favourite questline is the Hildibrand one.

Even: Paladin, scholar, summoner - doesn’t know how to dodge aoes - Plays Elezen male, default glamours so his character looks ridiculous. Craft game is ridiculously high and works with Dilan to keep things up-to-date. Super rich, bought the FC mansion.

Ienzo: Scholar, summoner, black mage — hate tanking anythingbut has a dark knight for casual stuff - Plays Lalafell dunesfolk, male— very glamour conscious. Has 6 more alts on the side so he can dress them all up. Probably role plays.

Aeleus: Summoner, ridiculously good. Loves Carbuncle, regularly /gposes with Xion for Carbuncle themed screenshots — plays Miqote Moon Boy, a lot of red dye. Tries to craft, but it’s so boring compared to IRL.

Dilan: Dragoon! Doesn’t actually get hit by aoes at all, nor does he fling himself off the edge by accident. He’s just bad at his roation. Plays Au Ra male, Xaela. Suprisingly an omni-crafter. Will spoil the children to one-up Even.

Lea: Bard Bard Bard, will go dancer. Has all three healers on the side for no reason. Very good at being a bard, somehow keeps dps up and still manages to sing at the right time. Matches glamours with Isa, also role plays as a himbo sun miqote that loves to eat anything.

Isa: Dark Knight, Machnist, Scholar. He’s very nervous on scholar, the extra hot bar throws him off so he leaves Eos on sic. — he’s a Selene kind of player. Plays moon miqo-man, matches glams with Lea. Doesn’t really role play but makes good headcanons for their characters. Surprisingly good at interior design.

Demyx: Bard!!! Doesn’t know how to play the class but he sure loves the music feature. Often busks in the city centers playing music, some players trade him gil. He’s like the server cryptid. Wears a piggy outfit on any gear set. Probably a hyur, his in-game name is “Finny Fun”.

Vanitas: I’m joining your shitty FC — Still hangs around the house every single day. He plays everything and crafts everything, but his favourite class is Dark Knight because of the story, second is Bard for that slowburn love story — you can’t convince him it’s not a slowburn love story. Fantasia addict.

Ansem the Wise: Monk, Samurai, Ninja, Warrior. Very good at all, types raid guides for the others, plays Roegadyn female hellsguard. Doesn’t spend gil on glamours because it’s given to him himfor free by Even and Dilan. If someone is feeling bad about thegame, he’ll tell them to take a break. Very good at interior glitching. Actually mains Culinarian, puts most gil into the FC chest.

The most likely result would be various equipment from her mercenary corp, the large majority of it being heavily armored, or armored for what it is. For example, her healers gear would likely be healers robes with  strategically places metal plates over vital organs or arteries. In contrast, Machnists and Bards would have leather assortments with metal plated protection over vital locations, dragoons and the like Leather, metal and chainmail, while tanks would receive her heavily armored and iron clad appearance! Weapons would likely be heavier equipment, designed for durability and functionality over flashiness.
