Ludwig II (Ludwig Otto Friedrich Wilhelm; 25 August 1845 – 13 June 1886), also called the Swan King or der Märchenkönig ("the Fairy Tale King"), was King of Bavaria from 1864 until his death in 1886. He also held the titles of Count Palatine of the Rhine, Duke of Bavaria, Duke of Franconia, and Duke in Swabia. Outside Germany, he is more commonly called "the Mad King" or "Mad King Ludwig".

Ludwig ascended to the throne in 1864 at the age of 18 but increasingly withdrew from day-to-day affairs of state in favour of extravagant artistic and architectural projects. He commissioned the construction of lavish palaces: Neuschwanstein Castle, Linderhof Palace, and Herrenchiemsee.

 He was also a devoted patron of the composer Richard Wagner. Ludwig spent all his own private royal revenues (although not state funds as is commonly thought) on these projects, borrowed extensively, and defied all attempts by his ministers to restrain him. This extravagance was used against him to declare him insane, an accusation that has since come under scrutiny.

Ludwig was taken into custody and effectively deposed on 12 June 1886, and he and his doctor were found dead on the following day. His death was ruled to be a suicide, which has been disputed.[4] Today, his architectural and artistic legacy includes many of Bavaria's most important tourist attractions.

Helmut Berger was born in Austria, but moved to London at the age of 18 to study acting. Two years later he moved to Italy to study languages. He had the good fortune of meeting director Luchino Visconti who cast him in a small role in Le streghe (The Witches, 1967). His relationship with Visconti became intimate and the two soon were life long lovers.

“I wasn't sure I liked men, I didn't want to be another cutie in his arms, so I made him run well first. With him, I experienced true love.”

Bergen’s acting attracted international attention when Visconti cast him in “The Damned” (1969). The film depicted the decadence of German society leading up to WWII. Berger’s attention getting role included him dressing in drag as Marlene Dietrich from her appearance in “The Blue Angel”. The film received an X rating when released in the US.

Berger’s next two films were without Visconti. First he played the title role in “Dorian Gray” (based on Oscar Wilde’s novel). This was the most daring version of Dorian, as Berger was comfortable appearing nude on screen and didn’t mind any suggested homosexuality.

It was followed by “The Garden of the Finzi-Continis” directed by Vittorio De Sica. It won the 1972 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

Berger’s next film with Visconti generated controversy in Germany - “Ludwig” (1973). It told the story of Ludwig II, who ruled Bavaria from 1864 to 1886. This film included nudity and references to Ludwig’s homosexuality. The producers feared backlash from German fans of the former king and force Visconti to cut his original 4 hour version to only 3 hours. Despite the cuts, this film is said have Berger’s finest performance.

In his relationship with Visconti, Berger met many international artists - including ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev. The two had an affair and Nureyev wanted Berger to live with him. But Berger couldn’t give up the secure life that Visconti provided him.

“Visconti knew all about these (affairs). He was sure Nureyev would be a passing fad and he was right.”

This changed in 1976 when Visconti died from a stroke (he smoked 120 cigarettes a day). His death deeply affected Berger who contemplated suicide. It also led to years on dependency on alcohol and drugs.

Later in life, Berger reported he was free of addiction. He became popular on the talk show circuit, openly talking about his sex life including affairs with actress Marisa Berenson and Mick’s wife Bianca Jagger. (Berger considers himself bisexual.)

In 2007, he received a special award the at the Berlin Film Festival for his professional achievements in film.

It was a last-minute addition to our itinerary. As sobering and humbling as our visit was there, I am glad we stopped. Everyone must visit at least one of these sights where the worst imaginable human behavior…

Tim Curry starred in the unaired pilot for Madness Reigns, a 1998 sitcom produced by the Jim Henson Company. The show followed Curry as King Nicholas Serge Rudolph George Leopold Ludwig Von Ebelskiver of Lichtenbourg-Hvoristan who was exiled from his country and now living in New York City with his family, many of whom were puppets. The show was never greenlit.

But after a day of having a hole punched in our wall and then another day of long driving (which was great and I picked up a couple of awesome-looking games, but it was long), I wasn’t in the mood to write anything last night. The rum flowed better tonight, though this is still going to be a fairly short post compared to some of mine. So welcome back to the bar!…

Mario movie AU (inspired by discussions with @lunarianebula872-blog ) where Bowser has the Koopalings and Junior on board and lets them roam around the fortress while he's busy being king.

The Koopalings are brats so when they spy Bowser and see him manhandling Luigi, they want to get the human into more trouble. So they pull him out of the cage and start forcing him into awkward situations.

Except... it backfires for the best everytime.

Iggy, Lemmy and Larry play football with Luigi's cage and it gets tangled with all of the other cages, but instead of getting mad Bowser finds the resulting scene hilarious and it puts him in a good mood.

Junior goes down to rattle Luigi's cage and scare him but in the process he slips from his clown car and only thanks to Luigi catching him does he not fall into lava; Bowser is so relieved and grateful he moves Luigi to a nicer cell (still a hole in a wall with bars but at least without lava).

...That's fine ! More opportunities to get him in trouble!

Ludwig pretends to befriend Luigi and tells him all sort of lies about what to say to Bowser to please him (but actually everything Bowser hates to hear and would get furious about); when Luigi does say these things, Bowser is amused by the human's guts and thinks he's not so bad to have around.

Roy and Morton drag Luigi in the kitchen and bully him into cooking something for dinner in the hope he messes up ; Bowser is delighted by the meal and is flabbergasted to learn the human made it, and actually pays him a compliment.

Wendy dresses up Luigi in a cute and expensive outfit and pushes him into Bowser's path ; Bowser is taken away by how pretty Luigi looks and wonders if all humans are so cute or if he's just lucky to fall for the prettiest...wait, is he falling for Luigi ??

Every time they try harder to make Bowser hate Luigi, they just push them harder into each other's arms.

You first spent some time with Gunther the "Ringgeneral". He told you everything about Imperium and how he got the Name.

You straight asked him if he every used German Memes in Segments or in the ring . He told that he tried to use them but since WWE is an American Wrestling he thinks that they dont get them

so in this Moment you had an Idea that you told him. "Tell Ludwig Kaiser the one with Pietro Lombardi" Gunther just nooded but he understood what to do.

Imperium tried to hold you but dont mess with a Greek/German Person who has both passion on her.

"European elegance?" you asked him. "Why not?"

However with Giovanni it was a little bit diffucult but one time Ludwig asked you to be on the Ringside with him and Giovanni against the new day who are enemies with Imperium.

This was also the Match where Kofi hurt Giovanni. Guther wasn't there and Ludwig got Mad.

So after Giovanni got injured and couldn't come you tried to help him with recovery

"He is really mad" giovanni told. "He is kinda like my cousin where one time they hurt my other cousin and beat them really bad" you told him.

After that everything went Downhill for Imperium. Gunther Lost his IC Title to Samy Zayn and is now tring to be King in the Ring now Ludwig Kaiser betrayed Giovanni Vinci and Y/N in WWE is now on a new Adventure

How Medic Had VHS Tapes Before They Were Allegedly Invented

Emesis Blue, the psychological horror film based off of the hit first-person shooter game, Team Fortress 2, created by the studio Valve, is by all accounts an odd and unexpected masterpiece of film. Though most are set on explaining various time loops and the ending, I am not. Regardless of the fact that I understood neither of those things, I have arrived with a theory of my own. Because I have spiralled into a chaotic mode of over-analysis, specifically over a scene which is, at best, five seconds long. Should you choose to follow me and indulge in my delusions, I can guarantee you that I have something that may not interest you, but is long and heavily interests me.

PART I: WHY AM I LIKE THIS?

I’m literally neurodivergent and a minor. I have no answers for you. Moving on.

PART II: HOW COULD MEDIC HAVE VHS BEFORE IT EXISTED?

The point of this over analytical essay is to discuss why the Medic, also known as Doctor Fritz Ludwig, would have access to VHS tapes in a time when they did not in fact exist at all. The film is set on halloween--October 31, 1968. VHS tapes were not widely available to the public until 1976, and it is said that the development of VHS began sometime in 1969. Neither of these facts account for Medic’s possession of them. So where did he get them from?

We can begin by breaking down what they are and who made them.

These two images clearly display some of the VHS tapes which fell out of the box during the first couple of scenes of Emesis Blue. They are labelled “das grinsende gesicht” and “der könig in gelb.” These translate to “The Grinning Face” and “The King in Yellow,” both of which are pieces of media. The former is a silent German horror film released in 1929, and the latter appears to be the German translation of the title of a collection of short stories written by Robert W. Chambers. The title is also the title of a play within the collection which is said to drive anyone who reads it mad. However, the latter was never made into film. This information, while interesting, is not really important to my theory. But now you know. There’s symbolism to it of course.

Now, these tapes are clearly marked with the Mann Co. logo. This infers that they are produced and distributed by Mann Co. Considering their involvement in covert operations, projects, and their possible or perhaps even outright government connections, it is possible that Mann Co. invented or at least had production access to VHS before anyone knew about it. Perhaps they had a reason for holding them back? The box in his office is full, but it is not the

largest collection it could be, and it appears to be a mix of both legitimate or pseudo-legitimate films and personal or corporate videos. Considering the fact that VHS tapes are only seen in Ludwig’s possession, and that they contain the Mann Co. logo, it is safe to assume that they are produced by Mann Co. and solely distributed to those employed by them.

This offers a simple explanation as to why Medic has them before they should have existed. Mann Co. is not known for their transparency, often keeping things secret, even things that would objectively change the world. However, this does not offer an explanation as to what happened that led to the public release of VHS afterwards. So this brings us to our next section….

PART III: HOW AND WHY DID VHS BECOME WIDESPREAD?

It is said that production and development of the VHS began in 1969. Over the course of Emesis Blue, the Mann brothers, Redmon and Blutarch, are murdered. This occurs sometime in early November 1968--likely specifically November 3, as the agent who debriefs Soldier at the end of Emesis Blue--Agent Stemmons--mentions to him that the funeral of Governor Archibald is on Sunday. Assuming that this debriefing takes place directly after the events of halloween 1968, which fell on a Thursday, that leaves November 3 as the most likely date.

Seeing as the Mann brothers are now dead, and as there is no mention of Gray Mann interfering with the rest of this plot, it’s possible that Mann Co. is now disbanded, leaving them no means by which to distribute this technology. It’s then highly possible that the sole survivor of the Conagher slaughterhouse, Soldier, also known as Jane Doe, is the one who brought VHS to the world. While it is also possible that Gray could have done it, we’ll assume he doesn’t even exist in this universe, as his role is noncritical to it,

Here is how Jane could have single handedly brought VHS to the rest of the world.

Scarred by the events of October 31, 1968, he decided that the VHS tapes invented by Mann Co were actually a useful invention, and that the public should have access to them. After the death of the Mann brothers he tried to spread them and rebrand them, but quickly learned that they had some form of mind control within. This led to him bringing some of the tapes to a group who could disable this feature. However, that in turn led to them having to be completely redesigned, as the manipulation was ingrained too deeply into their design, which hence explains the delay of them being released widespread. VHS was first publicly released in Japan in 1976, which also points to the group Jane went to being Japanese. Shortly after, in 1977, VHS was also released in the United States.

And that is the story of how Team Fortress 2’s Soldier single handedly caused the public release of the VHS technology across the world.

"Tell me a story?" he asked. Folding his hands and giving you his best puppy dog eyes.

"About Tulips?" you hum, teasing. You know what he wants. He wants something grisly. Something weird... Like most children, he's a bloodthirsty creature. And the Bloodlust can only be sated by video games and cartoons for so long. He wants something real. But far away. Very. Very. Far. Away. Oceans and continents and decades away. So far away he can't even conceptualize the world you're talking about. Before smart phones and crime fighters in masks. Something that feels like a dream.

"No," he groaned. "I want-"

"You want something weird," you snort.

"You know a lot of weird stuff," Dick said nodding, pulling out the chair across from you in the library and watching you take a drink of water and a stretch.

"Well," you hum, thinking. Shaking the bushes, in a sense, to see what rabbits bolted bolted from the brush, "There's always the Swan King-"

"That's not real," Dick said pouting.

"It's absolutely real," you tell him, feeling a bit like a computer warming up, hoping you could remember enough details to make a good story off the cuff, "And I'm afraid he went utterly mad. You see. Ludwig was bron a prince, but what he wanted, really, was to be a knight. But not just Any knight. He wanted to be Parsifal-" And like your undergrads in the Unit on Ramayana, as Dick leaned forward, eyes going wide- you knew you had him. And at least for the next little while, he was a happily captive audience.
