He could barely hold in his excitement. His senior may have to forgive his disrespectful behavior just once because this discovery is just simply phenomenal. Why, he's probably the only first-year with such forbidden knowledge! Forbidden but precious. If Tsukasa closed his eyes and tried really hard, he could just imagine Tori seething with envy right about now. He has to clasp his hands over his mouth, fearing that he may just say something to ruin this moment.

Never mind the fact that his senior looked only a second away from cursing out his entire bloodline. Judging by the way Sena Izumi's hand tightened on the book he held, he was trying. So maybe Tsukasa shouldn't tease him too much.

Sena Izumi, a former student of Primavera Institute of Magic. Expelled for practising the Dark Arts. Blacklisted by the Diviner of the Sanctuary. It's been years since his banishment from the kingdom, yet here he is, alive and irritable. The portraits of Izumi shown to them did not do any justice to his actual appearance. Yet another stigma that evil has to look ugly or plain. The youth before him is reminiscent of pure, untouched ice.

If Tsukasa were to have encountered his senior wandering the hallways of their school, he wouldn't have associated dark magic with him. Back on track, he came here to learn things from his senior. Magic that couldn't be taught in school, expressly forbidden but tempting all the same. His mentor probably wouldn't scold him, he might even say something along the lines of: magic is a medium to express one's soul and desires. easier to translate than the convoluted nonsense that is human speech!

His mentor would probably laugh like an incredibly annoying goblin.

"If you're just going to stand around like an idiot, just get out of my way instead of wasting my time." Sena Izumi growled. Right.

"Sena-senpai... eek! You don't have to look so scary!" Tsukasa protested when Izumi shot him a venomous glare. It made him want to recoil but if he backed down now, this chance would be gone forever. In record time, he immediately ducks down just as something made contact with the wall behind his head.

"You're resorting to throwing things now?! Are you not dignified, senpai?" exclaimed Tsukasa, aghast. Peeking cautiously at his senior, Tsukasa catches a glimpse of a smile on Izumi's mouth before it's gone. He's still standing there, not a hint of any movement except the book he held earlier is no longer in his hand.

"Look, I did not wake up this morning to get harassed by some rich and pampered neophyte. You're pretty daring to come in here, unaccompanied, Suou Tsukasa-kun." The air turned frigid. A few seconds had merely passed but Izumi had managed to turn this whole floor into a wintry domain. In the corner where he huddled, Tsukasa tried to summon a small ball of flame in his hands. Upon hearing his name, Tsukasa faltered, the feeble attempt at fire fizzled out.

Izumi stalked closer. Tendrils of ice seemed to spread out wherever he stepped. When he was finally in front of Tsukasa, he knelt down. with a small action, he managed to completely dispel whatever fear Tsukasa was beginning to harbor and also evicted him from his domain. Izumi flicked him.

"Go home, reckless brat."

The windows were still open in his dorm room, the curtains fluttering wildly- an after-effect from a teleportation spell. Tsukasa stared blankly at the cold, pale moon. He was sprawled on the floor, with a book in his hand. What just happened? How was he sent back here without alarming the defensive magic the school had around its perimeters? How is he not suffering from any repercussions from coming into contact with black magic when Izumi had approached him and even used glacial magic to touch him-

Slowly, he sat up. The book he held was innocent, bound with a cranberry linen cover. The title was embossed in gold letters: Article of Faith, by Sena Izumi and... Tsukinaga Leo. Huh. Every copy of this book had been burned, the Elders claimed that it was teaching aspiring mages to reject the Sanctuary. Then this must be...

Tsukasa flipped through the pages, some sort of trepidation gripped his heart. Countless annotations made by flawless handwriting filled the paper. Most of it was directed at certain passages written by the co-author. I've got the last remaining copy, and it's Sena Izumi's.

"If he wanted to give this to me, he could've done so nicely." He pouted.

Honestly Mozart l'Opéra Rock songs are fitting for so many characters, and the bell sounds in "c'est bientôt la fin" while they sing about attending a ball and assist to the end of a world is so Rollo ringing the bell in hopes for that world without magic, for the end of mages.

MIZUAKIKASA KNIGHT AU HCs HELLO (+background ships)

so:

First off: They’re all trans (I don’t make the rules)

Second: they have a pet lizard they often refer to as their child, confusing everyone who does not know what their ‘little baby’ is

They go on double dates with Saki and her girlfriend knights: Ichika and Shiho

Newer knights often assume Akito is the commander, but are immediately corrected when Tsukasa is spotted carrying both Akito and Mizuki on his shoulder while they’re with children

Mizuki’s older sister has made matching brooches for the three in the form of white roses with the border of the pin corresponding to their hair color

they get awfully domestic with each other whenever they think they’re alone or in their little secret hangout spot

like Tsukasa will always bring food to give them or water if they’re feeling tired, Akito tries looking for injuries everytime after training sessions, and Mizuki plays with their hair and fixes their clothing before letting them get back to the training grounds

when they finally have their days off, they help sell pastries with married Anhane who are retired mages

Toya secretly asks one of the three for dating advice from time to time bc he is DOWN BAD for the royal mage (Rui obviously)

While Ichisakishiho, Anhane, and Toya are aware of Mizuakikasa’s relationship, Honakana were the ones who got them together

this is how it went: Tsukasa and Akito would would talk about each other and Mizuki to Honami without either of them knowing whenever they needed to heal in the infirmary while Mizuki basically did the same thing but with Kanade around whenever they both needed to be healed up

naturally, Honakana became slightly fed up and set them up on a date. It was a success <3

ok so my first au is based on the white day sets, but i made it like, mafuyu & tsukasa friendship bonding through a curse they have and how they slowly forget how to be human. im gonna tag this as the cursed white day au because im not original enough

i have a whole document about their information but im still working on it, since its a lot to get it flowing to be coherent

the thing is, tsukasa becomes an honorable knight at the age of 21. hes a strong soldier, promising knight and loyal to his kingdom, sadly these qualities are what made him to be a target of the king, who with an enchantress made him like a bloodlust monster who cant deny the kings order

later mafuyu will get the same curse by her mother suggestion to become the kings second knight, she and her mother didnt know about the whole massacre the king was doing since the kingdom is painted with ignorance and pride

tsukasa when first met mafuyu was already going insane, he killed his parents, nearly stabbed ruis eyes and well, he murdered bunch of people because the king was greedy, but tsukasa cant deny his orders and his desire to kill

i wont go into more detail rn because its very long uuuh kanade is also important here since shes from a nearby kingdom who tries to save the cursed kingdom (not the actual name of the place), she receives saki, toya, rui and akito (akito doesnt play a big role here). rui offers himself to learn prohibited magic to break tsukasa and mafuyus curses, and here enters ena, whos a powerful mage to help rui

i wanted to add more characters but i dont that will be possible to make a coherent story, but ill think of minor roles for them if i can

lost memories au (working title) has been in my head for a bit now, yipee. basically:

- like how most white day aus go, tsukasa and rui were on opposing sides. tsukasa was a knight with akito and mizuki, rui was an imperial soldier with toya and saki.

- white day trio had been trying to track down rui for a long time. he'd been causing a lot of trouble (so much so that even toya was concerned...)

- they didn't want to kill him, but they wanted to catch him

- ....to drain his magic. rui was a powerful mage; he had other skills of course, but they knew they'd have an easier time subduing him if he couldn't even do a basic spell

-they also knew rui's behavior might not have been his own. the dark magic had turned him into a twisted caricature of himself. the plan was to take away his magic.....then his memories. it was unethical, but...anything to being their friend back

- the day comes and yay, it's tsukasa who gets to fight rui! the battle is brutal, but tsukasa manages to knock rui out long enough to start the magic draining spell

- ...it's not pretty. the draining spell is, uh, painful for the person getting drained. tsukasa feels like a piece of shit but continues

- some fuckshit happens. rui manages to try and 'cancel' the spell, tsukasa decides he can't let him. rui freaks, tsukasa freaks, spells are thrown, spells go haywire-

-and then all of sudden, they're on a beach and some girl is trying to help them

I'M CRAFTING AN AU GUYS... it's a supernatural x cyberpunk au! genres. i am not talking about the CW series or the game.

rui i think is an alchemist because of Course he is. he HAS to be. tsukasa is a vampire because i looooove vampire kasa he is wonderful and lovely. i am still workshopping their roles but i know i want tsukasa to be like.. a well known robin hood type figure? like he does flashy crimes to become famous and try to instill change in the world. it's set in a pretty dystopian universe. i think rui is interested in who tsukasa really is, so the plotline would follow that.

they'd be aged up in their 20s just because i don't really want to write about/draw too many violent themes with 17 year olds LOL + i don't want to write about school. yuck

i'm gonna eventually introduce more characters.. saki will also be a vampire alongside her brother. i want nene to be a mage of sorts maybe? childhood friend of rui's. maybe the were estranged until recently. i think i want to have emu as a daughter of someone high in power.. we'll see how the four of them come together!

some contex for anyone reading:

part 1

tbh there's not much to my white day au it was mainly supposed to be funny over anything else

the main plot is essentially rui being one of the mages at a castle but getting threatened with being fired which causes him to panic and claim that he has found a way to find the lost prince of the kingdom. he kinda comes up with semi working spell for that in a rush but the spell essentially leads him to a lost prince in general not specifically of their kingdom. after that rui with mizuki and akito in tow (as knights protecting/accompaning him) gets to toya who got adopted by tenmas as a kid and is running a family inn together with tsukasa and saki. theyre kinda hesitant to belive rui at first cause he seems like a scammer but in the end rui promises that he will help find out whats toyas past in exchange and they agree and go with them. but since like ive said all they know is that toya is "a lost prince" theyre not 100% sure its of their kingdom so while theyre on their way back they do like a cheklist of going to diffrent kingdoms for a quick stop and proving that yep toya is not that kingdoms prince

some other stuff that are not the main plot but might be entertaining:

- mizuki knows rui made everything up and is trying to cover for him and akito is the only one in the castle thats like "this guys bullshitting" and volunteered to join him to prove that the guy he found is not the prince. cut to a looney toons like compilation of rui and mizuki covering the truth in front of akito

- theres a slight tenma family side plot with saki wanting to leave to travel the world with l/n but not knowing how to tell tsukasa. In my head she claims that its because she doesnt want him to be alone and its harder now that she knows toya will probalby leave too but its also in a bigger part her being scared of leaving not in a "world is a scary and dangerous place" sense but in a "moving away can be a stressful experience" way and her feeling like telling tsukasa would make it final. toya learns by accident before the story starts and Ive imagined toya and saki bonding in scenes where they talk about how theyre actually kinda anxious to leave their home especially since its always been just the 3 of them. anyways it ends with a happy ending lol

- mafuyu is following them for plot relevent reasons i wont reveal in case i ever want to make more of it

- toya saki and tsukasa would get their white day outfits eventually but its not serious and in my head its them trying to disguise themselves to get into a royal event or something

- I wanted to make it a mizuruikasa au in a sense that mizuki and rui are already acting like a couple and then both of them are looking at this pathetic guy who tries to infodump akito whos a knight about knighthood and they think "I want him"

- theres some akitoya but its also mostly comical with akito having an internal conflict between "damn im falling for this guy" vs "I feel like liking the guy who im trying to prove is not a prince and rui is just making shit up is kinda like admitting defeat and I cant give rui the satisfaction"

- theres a song "learn to do it" in anastasia and this au exists 100% because ive imagined a scene where rui mizuki and akito desperately try to teach toya how to be a prince to it

my favorite colors are yellow, red, black and pink. i read alot of fanfiction but im terrible of writing, my favorite book is the goldfinch n I'll probably post one of my old mini rants about it,[ i also might post my when twilight strikes lore dump... wtv I'll get 2 that later!!!11 ], while my favorite book series is percy jackson or the tim drake: robin series if comics count :3.

the first oc is mei lynn, her whole backstory is basically that she's SUUPER unlucky, like really REALLY bad luck, and on her way 2 school she did isekai'd, fell through the air, landed in a lake and broke her leg ^^

n the second oc is florian, his nickname is driam, hes a dragon shifter, meaning he has a full dragon form (which i haven't drawn yet), a half dragon-half human form, and a fully human form (i haven't drawn this yet either), n his backstory is that his parents who were also dragon shifters [and unapollogetically so] were killed by discriminatory humans who beleive shifters shouldn't be aloud rights called hunters, so he usually just parades around as a human, the only people who know hes a dragon shifter are his partners, (havent drawn them yet but he has 2 partners; his boyfriend abbie who's a cat shifter and his girlfriend mira, whos a mage that specializes in ice, water, and healing magic) and bestfriends, (elliott, a freelance programmer who beleives everyone deserves rights, shifter or not and protests these rights happily. piper, florian's roomate before he moved in with his partners, a human who lightly dabbles in plant magic but she wouldn't consider herself a mage, her apartment is above her flower shop which she named ' The Bluebell ', its her pride and joy and she hired mira to set up protection runes around the shop that activate when they close up for the night. and mikhail, whos a demon that refuses to make a deal with anyone for anything out of fear theyll hurt them because a deal with a demon always backfires on the person making the deal with them because a demon always wins in the deal they make, and demons are just angels who were abandoned by their patron god/goddess, mikhail's patron goddess was the goddess of the night and stars, he was abandonded by her out of hope that the mistreatment he got for being an angel would lessen and in a way it did because in the end he found a family.)

Everyone deciding on Miitopia classes for the new set is WRONG you do not understand Miitopia like I do (<- please never ask what fandom I was in when I was 14). Anyway just from the costumes alone Nene is a mage, Rui is a scientist and Tsukasa is a chef (literally two of the best classes and worst class). MEIKO's like a wolf but I guess that's close enough to cat class (another good class). Emu doesn't really fit any of them she's just a generic traveller so I'd set her as elf just because it's super OP and call it a day.

Tsukasa you're letting the team down pick literally any other class please.

- As stated, Tsukasa is the antagonist. While Mizuki works with him only to feed info to the rebels and Akito is a glorified hostage

- The rebels each have a reason why they turned, and with the exception of the VS‘s it‘s directly related to Tsukasa

- Taukasa acts like a version of canon Tsukasa, but turned up to 11 as though he doesn’t actually know how to regulate himself. This of course is an act, he enjoys playing the fool and having others underestimate him.

- Tsukasa is also exceptionally hard on his two guards. Training with them until they collapse, gloating over them as he wins (which he always does).

-Sending Mizuki to do inane and unreasonable tasks to ‘prove their lotalty’ (which is because Tsukasa knows full well that Mizuki is a traitor and finds it entertaining to watch them run ragged trying to ‘prove’ themself).

-And of course ‘retraining’ Akito on how to act properly around nobility, which Akito constantly rebukes by acting out more, gaining even more ‘lessons’. (Toya’s section explains the retraining)

- Tsukasa has a huge amount of mana that he’s quite proficient at using (although nowhere close to Rui for profiency or Saki for mana storage) and is a master at sword fighting. So on top of being the crown prince is also a general in the royal guard. So defeating him would be quite the challenge *hint hint*

Saki: Ran away from her family, assisted by Tsukasa, who at that point was how we know him in canon. Despite hearing that he‘s become corrupt, she still wants to free him from the castle.

-She has the biggest mana resevoir of possibly any human ever, but has to use a lot of it to keep her body running. When she does use her magic, it‘s like a bomb going off, but leaves her very weak.

- Saki has the least about her because a lot of her ties back to Tsukasa and I’m trying not to reveal too much about him.

Toya: Tsukasa was someone he admired, so it came as quite a shock to him that, when Akito (Toya‘s personal guard) was heard complaining about the Tenmas, Tsukasa willingly took Akito to ‘retrain’ him.

-Toya’s father offered Akito as an apology for the slight (he already didn’t like Akito and the influence he had on his son, so it was an easy choice). Toya knew Tsukasa had been changing, but to go so far as to take Toya’s known closest compaion?

-Losing Akito, his father and Tsukasa’s betrayal. It was all too much, he had to leave. He’s working to free Akito and bring him back to his side!

Rui: Born a peasant, but snatched up by the Royal family as a mage when he showed incredible ingenuity and craft with magic,

-Rui spent most of his life being rejected by both sides (nobility and peasentry) for not being enough like either. Still he had his magic and two good friends, which was enough.

-One of his friends was Nene, who he knew even before he lived in the castle, but she followed him there using her amazing voice to land her a position of lead entertainer for the royal family.

-One day though when performing, she messed up and froze when she failed to hit a note. The Tenmas were not pleased and Tsukasa got up unsheathing his sword, saying: ‘A songstress that can’t sing, might as well lose her tounge.’

-Of course Nene ran for her life, but after awhile Tsukasa returned holding a bloody tongue. He threw it down in front of the remaining performers and told them that was ‘a lesson and warning’.

-Rui was horrified about what happened to one of his only friends and left, swearing revenge. But not before telling his other friend, Mizuki, about what happened and his plan.

-In response Mizuki, who was already a member although low-ranking in the royal guard, decided to work their way up to Tsukasa’s side so they could help their friend in his revenge.

Aspec Manga Rec: Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

This post will contain mild spoilers for the plot and character dynamics of the Manga. Sorry about the long post, but its a lot.

Contains a romantic subplot not involving the main character. Some evidence for an Aspec Protagonist. Reference to Sexual themes but no explicit imagery or sexualization of characters.

Written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End follows the journey of Frieren, the elf mage of the hero's party after their victory over the demon king. She travels to speak to the now dead hero Himmel in Aureole, where all souls rest. Currently being released as an anime by Studio Madhouse, now seemed like an apt time to talk about it.

The manga explores themes of loss, grief, found family, coming to terms with your emotions and the importance of non-romantic relationships. Especially with our protagonist, Frieren, bound to live a life of near immortality from a human perspective.

Immortality and Relationships:

As we follow Frieren on her journey north we are told directly that she herself doesn't understand the nature of relationships. Her perception of the world is stuck in how she will long outlast the people that she cares for. Below this appearance is someone who truly care for others.

She learns to cherish the time she spends with others and we can see that with how she treats Fern, her apprentice. The adopted daughter of one of her former companions, who she begins her journey solely with.

We are shown in a flashback to the end of her previous journey that she would never consider an apprentice because their life would never amount to much of her own existence:

Frieren often conflicts with the ideas of relationships and it is the main conflict of her returning journey north. Fern very quickly becomes incredibly important to her, taking care of her needs and very swiftly looking after her apprentice's condition instead of continuing her own journey northward. Frieren defies her own beliefs and worldview because she has learned that the people that she does care about will eventually disappear; as it is the nature of her lifespan for them to be nothing but fleeting moments. She chooses to spend time with her companions because she wants to carry their story and memory for the rest of her life, something that she never felt with the hero's party.

How is this Aspec Representation?

Clearly more depictions of unfeeling characters as aspec isn't progressive in making aspec people seem more "human" but I think how Frieren subverts this trope demonstrates a great aspec character.

At this point, this representation is, and will probably continue to be a headcannon more than it will be actually confirmed, but it has some pretty good foundation.

Early on, Frieren directly tells us this about elves:

This is a pretty overt statement of her romantic and sexual orientation as early as Chapter 13 of the manga as the journey was just beginning. There are some questionable parts of this claim that "all elves" lack romantic and sexual attraction, but the author directly displays elves later on that hold or are implied to have romantic feelings for other characters. It reminds me of how some aspec people believe that everyone is like them, having an understanding without knowing fully that they have different experiences.

So where does this leave Frieren as she is perceived by others?

No one questions this about her. It never comes into question if she had found the right person or if she was interested in the relationships herself, it is just accepted. In a later chapter exploring the romantic subplot between her two companions, she is asked for dating advice to which she responds:

The interaction is treated very naturally which mirrors realistic assumptions of these feelings and experience with them that might come with age.

The only claim to her holding romantic feelings towards another person was towards the hero Himmel. Which is suspect to say the least. Most of these assumptions are based on their close emotional bond, how much Frieren grieves his death and how Himmel treated her.

Throughout flashbacks, we can see that Himmel almost constantly was flirting with and then subsequently denied by Frieren along their journey. It isn't played as hurtful or annoying, just as a form of endearment that wasn't reciprocated; something that neither character seems to grieve in any fashion. They had a close emotional bond, but the manga doesn't display it as anything but platonic and I believe that to be true.

TLDR:

Frieren exhibits multiple aspec traits in how she perceives others and her relationships to the people in her life. While her traits may be seen as "inhuman" on the surface, she deeply cares for others without needing to be in a romantic or sexual relationship. The manga puts very little focus on romance and merely on the nature of relationships of all kinds and meanings.

This is my first large-scale post like this, so I would appreciate any feedback people are willing to give me. It is a very long post so I hope I didn't ramble too much
