that madohomu dance scene in walpurgis no kaiten looks like its gonna be peak toxic yuri and frankly i can't WAIT to enjoy madohomu in all its glory in an era where magicalgirlfanproblems doesn't exist and you don’t have a horde of people screaming that you're supporting abuse for shipping two silly little magical lesbians

Homura Akemi
Age: 14*
Home: Mitakihara City (Puella Magi Madoka Magica)
Blood type: B
Likes: Madoka, shoplifting from the JSDF
Dislikes: Kybuey, Kyoko, isolation
Weapon: Shield
The asterisk on her age is for that time she spent about 12 years living the same month over and over to save her friend. That’s the kind of outlier that’ll ruin your data set if you don’t earmark it…well, maybe not ruin, considering how many dragons there are, but it’ll mess with things.
There are two parts to Homura’s backstory. First, the part that people could conceivably find out about by looking at the right records. She was in a hospital for most of her life, and her parents are either dead or absent. Second, the part that added an asterisk to her age. She encountered exactly one person who was nice to her, fell hopelessly in love with her, watched that girl sacrifice herself in a way that was supposed to save everyone but just made everything worse, and spent so long trying to save her that said crush became a cosmic keystone. Oh yeah, and she got magical powers between those two parts.
Homura is dangerously obsessed. After far, far too many failures, she has given up on everything except saving Madoka. It’s not even clear if she’s hoping for anything beyond Madoka eventually not dying; she doesn’t think twice about terrorizing Madoka and her friends if it means Madoka won’t make a contract, barely lifts a finger if Madoka isn’t involved (unless she gets to shoot Kyubey), and she explicitly claims that “dedication has no reward”. But she doesn’t care. She doesn’t care about anything.
Except Madoka.
Does Tumblr want to give Homura a hug? What does Tumblr have to say about Homura?
her quest is so hopeful. despite everything, despite all the suffering, she still believes in the future she's fighting for. and i can't believe i never really saw that aspect of it.
she lives in a white void because nothing matters but what we see, there are places to sit, a table, and information about Walpurgisnacht, her task has so wholly consumed her that she might as well live in a white void, nothing else matters but this
if magicalgirlfanproblems was still active, i'd be labelled a homura apologist. and i think that's beautiful

People who seem to try and live through Naoko Takeuchi to explain why Crystal is the best version of Sailor Moon and why the 90s anime is an abomination without knowing how she really feels about the new anime or bother to look at the positive things she said about the 90s (plus ignoring the fact she is embarassed of her manga) It's one thing to want the series to be like the manga, it's another to try and speak for the author (saying things like "it's Naoko's vision) to gain approval.

OH MY FUCKING GOD I WAS GOING THROUGH MAGICALGIRLFANPROBLEMS AND SAW A POST THAT SAYS "utena states the patriarchy doesn't exist" AND I HAD TO DO A DOUBLE TAKE??? LIKE... YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT REVOLUTIONARY GIRL UTENA. ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS QUEER FEMINIST FANTASY SHOWS. STATES THE PATRIARCHY DOESN'T EXIST??? LIKE HOW DID YOU GET THAT FROM UTENA DID WE EVEN WATCH THE SAME SHOW?? man this is why i say those magical girl confession blogs were a mistake and i'm glad they're dead now.
LMAOOOOO, WHAT???? Isn't Akio, like, symbolic of the patriarchy?
And for real, magical girl confession blogs caused nothing but drama.

FYI
Remember that our format is just like the late magicalgirlfanproblems. So don’t start a submission with pronouns or it will either be written out or posted at @aikatsuandprecureconfessions.

Confessions that will no longer be accepted.
This page is for listing all of the frequently submitted confessions that will not be accepted anymore. The list will be added to over time but here’s the current version:
PMMM:
Madoka Magica is nothing but shock value/PMMM is sexist/Madoka ruined the magical girl genre.
Rebellion didn’t need to exist/Rebellion’s ending was awful.
The controversy behind Homura’s turn to villain in Rebellion.
Sailor Moon:
Sailor Moon Crystal’s animation was wonky (as much as i agree it’s just beating a dead horse at this point)
SuperS focused too much on Chibiusa
I don’t understand all of the hate towards Crystal
Sleepless Domain
I wish Sleepless Domain didn’t turn into a dark MG series.
Tokyo Mew Mew:
Mew Berry is a Mary Sue
Also, just a small side note but it’s important: please stop sending us confessions about behaviour in the fandom. Unless it’s about how it has affected you, it’s going to get rejected. If you want to rant about fandom problems, send it to magicalgirlfanproblems.

Skleero! I found a blog called magicalgirlfanproblems. Basically a confession blog. I notice that most Svtfoe related are about star being lame character, annoying, worst character, etc. Why did these anons hate our Star so much?
Because they’re all “hurr durr SVTFOE is a ripoff of muh Sailor Moon!” and have no idea what is the show is about, how it’s written, its characters, etc. Disregard such half-assed opinions.

i remember back when i was started off in the magical girl fandom- particularly the madoka fandom - the gaandus over at magicalgirlfanproblems were trying to gaslight people into thinking that madohomu is the most toxic and abusive ship ever and if you like them or even homura, then you're just as bad as an actual abuser.
but now that i've grown up and am into more media i have to say - bitch madohomu is the TAMEST "toxic yuri" out there. i hope none of you who screamed abuse because of rebellion's ending never get into revue starlight or avemygo. y'all would be sent into cardiac arrest when you're exposed to kuromaya or like.. any of the ave mujica ships. compared to all those, madohomu seems healthy. hatsune misumi from ave mujica makes homura look like a well adjusted character.
#make no mistake this is NOT endorsing u*s*ki#i'm just saying... if everyone who had heart attacks over homucifer watched ave mujica#their entire circulatory system would stop the moment they meet hatsune#or sakiko#or... any of avemuji#puella magi madoka magica#shojo kageki revue starlight#bandori#ave mujica#homura akemi#hatsune misumi#rebecca talks

i still browse magicalgirlconfessions and magicalgirlfanproblems occassionally and i swear half the madoka magica takes there are "how DARE these 14 yesr old girls react reistically to trauma they're PSYCHOPATHS and WORSE THAN THE DEVIL"
#because why did i see a confession blaming KYOKO for sayaka's witching out#just because she said kyubey turned them into zombies???#she's 14?? and already been through a fuckton of trauma?? and just had ANOTHER traumatic revelation???#what the fuck did you EXPECT her to do??#puella magi madoka magica#madoka kaname#sayaka miki#mami tomoe#homura akemi#kyoko sakura#rebecca talks

i saw your post about homura akemi and it reminded me of this one post on magicalgirlfanproblems where the poster compared homura to edward cullen and christian grey lmao
never saw that one, but not shocking to me. the one really weird take i remember about pmmm off mgfp was someone using fanart as proof homura was (sexually) creepy and abusive to madoka. i think there's, unfortunately, an official pmmm image (one (1) of them) of homura being "creepy" to madoka, and they didn't even use it as their "proof". used full on watermarked fanart. seriously pointed at fan made content and went "see, this proves she's abusive in canon!". very bad takes on that blog.

"who doesn't like madoka"? a lot of people from the 2010s. people called her a crybaby, weak, etc, for exhibiting signs and symptoms of "middle schooler powerless to help as her friends are brutally killed" disorder.
source: watched pmmm at 14 in 2016 and immediately found a bunch of hate tags for its characters. if you want a real cesspool or don't believe this happened, you can look through @magicalgirlfanproblems' pmmm tags. archived nightmare fuel. it's especially bad regarding homura and sayaka, as "sayaka died because of a dumb crush" fanon spawned from this similar line of thought as well.
everyone should like madoka kaname. everyone on this website. everyone on this planet.

Openly showing a feeling of distaste for the censorship of Haruka and Michiru's relationship in the CWi dub of Sailor Moon then being bombarded and nagged with statements of "This was during a time where this had to be done because of -insert reason here- ". Its one thing to point out that this was done during a time where a lesbian couple wasn't acceptable in a dub aimed towards kids. But, it doesn't mean that one can't complain or strongly wish the change didn't happen.

People who act so damn salty over the idea that some MG shows are still being made for kids. So just because 90% of the genre is dominated by PMMM knockoffs aimed at male demographics now, nobody can want or have shows like Precure or Sailor Moon that (heaven forbid) aren't built on a "13 episodes of edgy" formula? Sounds to me like you all just want any show that doesn't suit your personal tastes to discontinue.
