15, 22, and 32 for writer ask games?

15.  How do you deal with writer’s block?

I hoped I'd get this question, I've actually ran a workshop to help with writers block! 

1. I'll consume other media, we need inspiration to write (no matter what you're writing). It doesn't even need to be similar to what you're working on, I get really inspired by really good dialogue for example, doesn't matter if it's a sitcom or a sci-fi podcast. 

2. Free writing! I usually find this easier with a prompt, set a timer for 10 mins and just keep writing. It doesn't matter how good or bad it is, it can be like an unclogging of your mind.

3. Write something completely different so your brain can work on it in the background. So this could be simply doing chores while you deal with a plotting issue in your head. Or it could be starting a new writing project that is the complete opposite: for example my main project is a sci fi YA dystopian novel so my other project is a queer new adult holiday romance where an event planner falls for someone in an Abba tribute. Very different vibes 😂

Bonus tip: fanfic! I think of fanfic has a sandbox for writing techniques, try stuff out with someone else's world and characters for a bit and get more comfortable with it because applying it to your own work. 

22.  Who is/are your favourite pairing(s) to write?

Firstprince from RWRB is number one just now, & I do love a Junora in the background. I'm waiting for The Pairing to be released in August, I got an ARC and I already have so many ideas for Theo & Kit 🥰 I also loved writing Magnus x Vilde (Skam)

32.  Most difficult character to write

So this kind of goes for fanfic and my own work, I really struggle with dads! My relationship with my own dad has been turbulent but my granda was basically my father figure (he was very young looking for his age so most people though he was my dad as my actual dad lives elsewhere).

Another reason I really need season 3. Is for Engel possibly falling in love w NL!Magnus. My baby deserves that. And hopefully it’s Jayden, he’s so funny.

Skam Seasons I needed

A season for Jonas:

He was a vital part of 2/4 seasons which is not the case for most of the characters. We didn’t get to see much into his own life and problems but I bet it was interesting. I’m guessing he was biracial so it could have been a great storyline especially in the growing racist north European countries. His rants about capitalism and maybe some activism from him would have been nice as well. Before jumping back into Eva x Jonas it would have been good to see his own development and how he grew. Also I would want to see Isak being a good friend to him, to see that it goes both ways.

A season for Vilde:

Aside from her self esteem problems, eating problems we saw in that little clip that she has home problems. That completely changed my view about Vilde. Like that “stupid” girl everyone thought to be was actually a forced to grow up, forced to be an adult. On the outside she just was putting on a show. Also it turned out that she and Magnus were much more serious. Seeing all these explored would have been amazing and so empowering.

A season for Magnus:

Ever since we found out that his mother is bipolar I’m curious about his life, his home life. He, like Vilde, seems a bit stupid but the way he literally schooled Isak about being bipolar seemed so educated. His struggles, his friendship dynamics (boy squad!) and relationship with Vilde would be great to watch.

I’d also want to see a season for Even but even though his struggle with bipolar and his sexuality and his relationship with Isak and the boys is interesting I feel like we saw a lot of him in s3. Also his storyline could have been included in a possbile Jonas and especially possible Magnus with a bipolar storyline.

Another one I’d want would be Yousef just to see how he struggled with being raised religious vs. how he came to be not believing. To see the way he questioned himself and how this affects his relationship with the community he is in would have been interesting. And obviously the open ended relationship w/ Sana.

Season 5 - Magnus (entry for @skambigbang 2019​)

Magnus Fossbakken is entering his final year of school and everything seems to be cracking, including himself. When the family have to come home early from their holiday because his Mum has another manic episode, Magnus starts a journey to rock bottom. He’s scared, numb, frustrated and he has no idea how to handle it. When poor decisions make things go from bad to worse, Magnus has to learn how to get back up again and talk to the people who care for him.

My fanfiction baby has finally come to life! I’ve been working on the ideas for this for so long when this year’s big bang came along, I knew I had to finally write Magnus his season. You’ll notice little callbacks to previous seasons and maybe an easter egg or too. It’s a personal season, dealing with family, mental health issues like depression and the symptoms to actually look out for in friends and family. I hope you enjoy reading this series as much as I have writing it.
