I did it. I finished the whole manuscript and I'm editing away. What do you think the best way to go about submitting it is? I don't know much about the industry but I get the feeling people hate unsolicited manuscripts.

Publishers don’t all hate unsolicited mansucripts, but they assume that most of them won’t be very good. But they do get read, or at least, some publishers still read them, because the joy of discovering a new author on the slush pile is very real (of my friends, the late Iain Banks was discovered on the slush pile, as was Storm Constantine).
