as someone who lived through this era i feel like the mall goths of the south had a completely different perception of what northern mall goth was like. ppl literally wore those grim reaper shirts with tripp pants and i think thats somehow very classed (not able to afford name brand “mall goth” clothes actually from hot topic) and i think of it as the only way to think of this time period

everything smelled like sandalwood and burnt out cigarettes. it was such a beautiful time to breathe in the dry winter air listening to blutengel for the first time entering middle school
