Synopsis: Naruto was returning to the village after two years of training, and you were nervous about how he would feel about the new addition. But you realized how silly you were once Naruto laid eyes on his baby brother.

“I don't know, Iruka… I’m just nervous, is all,” you muttered sheepishly to your husband for what felt like the fifth time in the past twenty minutes. You bounced on your toes at the village gate, waiting anxiously for Naruto to return from training. He’s been gone for two years, and you were only five months pregnant before he left. He loved it and was happy that you were excited. But you couldn't help but feel fear that his genuine emotions would show. 

That he would hate the new addition. 

“There's no need to be worried; he knew you were pregnant before he left-”

“Yes… But what if he hates him? What if he despises the fact that I had another kid?” You knew you sounded silly. You knew it because of the sigh Iruka let out. You huffed out before looking at Yuto on your hip. Being 31 made you praise the gods above that he was so easygoing, but that didn't mean he didn't have his fussy moments. “Yuto, your hat is crooked,” you whispered as you readjusted the floppy sunhat on his head. He squirmed against your hip, little hands flying to fight you off. For being almost two, he was already a firecracker. “No!”

Your eyebrows shot up at the new word, you dreaded these moments with Naruto when he was younger, and now you had to go through it again. Thankfully, you weren't alone, and it paid off to have a husband four years younger than you. Iruka piped in behind you, scolding Yuto for saying the word when you were just trying to help him. You shot a side-eyed look at Iruka, lip curling into a smirk at his ‘fatherly’ instincts kicking in. His cheeks reddened at your smile before he cleared his throat.

“That fatherly instinct comes out pretty easily for you… Sure you don't have any other kids lying around?” your teasing caused him to straighten up, an outsider would have thought you offended him, but he knew what you were referring to. “I’ve had enough practice with your other kid.”

Your head flew back in laughter, joy flooding your system as you remembered the pranks that Naruto pulled as a kid. God, did you love that kid. Your laughter became a giggle, and the fear replaced the joy again. Iruka knew you were worried and had a reason to be. But Yuto was just like Naruto. If Naruto didn't like him, he was being foolish. He stepped closer to you, arm wrapping behind you so he could pull you and Yuto closer to him.

“I think Naruto will love him. Do you not see parallels between the two?” 

You bit your lip and nodded, unable to argue against that statement. Yuto, while not looking like him, was a carbon copy of how Naruto was at his age. It was something that you both adored and feared. You barely kept Naruto alive during those years, so how in the world were you going to do the same for Yuto?

“Mama”

You snapped out of your thoughts as your son reached up to touch your face, eyes wide in curiosity as you showed a side he's never seen before. A smile quickly rose to your lips as you hid your fear. You opened your mouth to answer, but Iruka interjected, “Here, why don't I take him for a bit? Let you calm down.” 

Your e/c eyes widened at that. How did he always know what you needed without asking? It was a miracle to have married someone as perceptive as he was. You didn't argue as he took the child from your embrace, but you didn't miss the sadness that washed through your veins. Iruka kissed your temple as he adjusted Yuto on his hip, “It's going to be okay, honey.” 

“Part of me is sad that the mother I am today wasn’t the mother he needed years ago.”

Iruka’s face scrunched up in confusion, head shaking furiously as he tried to find the source of this newfound self-hatred. “Where is this coming from? You were a wonderful mother to Naruto.” 

You didn't dare look at him, instead turning your gaze back to the horizon. But you felt the tension build as he stared at you intently. “Hey-”

Your gaze shot back to his, eyes brimming with tears as he brought down your walls again. “I don't know, Iruka; I guess I just feel like I failed as a mother with him, and I’m doing much better now with Yuto-”

“Y/n-”

“And I’m worried that Naruto will be upset seeing how different I am as a mother. I don't know. Sometimes I wonder if maybe someone else could have raised him better.”

“Y/n.” 

Iruka’s voice was low, tone warning as he stepped closer to you. He didn't know where this negative thinking originated but he wouldn't allow it to persist for another second. “You were fourteen… Do you know what I was doing at fourteen?”

“Probably having a giant crush on me?”

“Y/n”

“Sorry”

Silence fell between you as you looked at your feet. Maybe he would just let it go. Let you continue wallowing in self-pity, but that's not who Iruka was, which is why you married him. “You did the best you could with the resources you had. So stop putting yourself down for being different… Now… Unless you want Naruto to question why you’re sad to see him….”

A gasp fell from your lips as you excitedly looked up, “Naruto!!” Your scream reached the blonde, your voice causing him to perk up. “MOM!!!!” His voice boomed across the open field as he broke out into a sprint. He reached you within seconds, body crashing into yours. Iruka smiled brightly at the embrace, tears of joy streaming down your face as you held him close. Iruka felt Yuto cling to him as he watched the scene before him. He wasn't sure who this newcomer was, and it confused his little toddler brain.

Your husband cleared his throat, feeling like it was time for Yuto to meet Naruto for the first time. Naruto pulled away from your hug and let his eyes drift towards Iruka and the child perched on his hip. “Hey, buddy! It's so good to meet you finally,” Naruto stated sweetly as he raised his hands to try and take him from Iruka, but the toddler shied more into his father's neck. Naruto's smile faltered as he retracted his hands, “Sorry honey, just let him warm up. Ruka, can you put him down? Maybe he’ll play with him.”

Iruka nodded before moving Yuto to the ground below. He fussed for a bit, whimpers of “Daddy” and “No” falling from his lips as he reached back up for his father. Before he got too fussy, you sat beside him and motioned for Naruto to sit. Yuto immediately crawled into your lap, curling into your embrace. “Yuto,” you cooed as you positioned him in a way so he was still clinging onto you but forced to face his brother in front of him.

“Yuto, this is your big brother Naruto.” 

You knew he didn't quite understand what you were saying at this age, but seeing how relaxed you were around the stranger allowed him to calm down. Seeing this as your sign to continue, you leaned over to grab the diaper bag, opening it to bring out a couple of Yuto’s toys. Setting the toys on the ground between you and Naruto, Yuto’s eyes widened as he climbed off your lap to start playing with them. You looked at Naruto before nodding at the toys, encouraging him to start playing as well.

Iruka plopped down beside you three, head resting on his fist as he watched the two boys bond. Within minutes, Yuto had found his way into Naruto’s lap. The blonde laughed as Yuto moved the car along his arm, lips pursed as he let out a ‘vrooming’ sound. “He is so cute, Mom. I love him.” 

Your heart soared at Naruto’s words. All your fears flying out the window as Naruto played with Yuto as if he was his own flesh and blood brother. The two didn't look alike, but Naruto could see that this little guy would be his little shadow. Naruto wrapped his arms around Yuto, pulling him into a hug. “I’m going to help you get into so much trouble-”

“Naruto!”

“I’m kidding!! I’m kidding….” The blonde stated in a laughing tone before he got serious, “I’m going to train you to be the best ninja in the world. You’ll be Hokage someday.”

“Let's start with him learning to speak and use a spoon,” you teased as you brought your hand to Yuto’s side, tickling him into a fit of laughter. Naruto gripped the giggling toddler before pulling him away from your fingers, protecting him from your advances.

Your eyebrow shot up as you looked at Iruka, who was just shaking his head at the display before him. He still couldn't believe that you thought Naruto wouldn't love Yuto when they were the same person. It's just that one was 1.5, and one was 15. A yawn sounded out, and Naruto melted as Yuto cuddled into him, eyes drooping as he fought back the nap coming on. 

“Why don't we get him home for a nap…” Iruka stated softly as he stood up first. He reached down to grab the toddler, but Naruto shook his head. “I’ll carry him, Iruka sensei” Your lips curled into a beaming smile as you nodded at Iruka to let it happen. Iruka sighed before dropping his hands. “Okay, just be careful with him-”

“Ya ya, Iruka sensei, I won't drop my little brother,” Naruto huffed as he rose from the ground. He positioned Yuto on his side, letting him curl into him as he took off toward your home. Iruka shot you a look, almost as if saying, ‘I told you so’ without saying it out loud. You rolled your eyes before grabbing his hand.

“Ya ya, I know… I was being silly.”

Naruto Modern AU/Hollywood pt.5 - Evolution of Tecnologies & The Strongest Podcast

Since the industrialization of most large cities, new technologies, wireless devices, diversity of media, and better Internet connection have opened the flow gate for diverse opportunities and career paths online.

Streaming took over since techno scientists rushed the installation and promotion of such interfaces, after getting a glimpse of the promised profit along with funding from the rich families (Hyuuga and Senju) to do so. Video streaming and online media grew overnight across large and small nations as it is a new ineffective way of communication. Ideas can be shared and reach an unlimited audience to support your work. This new way of doing work proved itself to be helpful, as it reduced unnecessary paperwork for the Hokage.

In these times, an individual named Mizuki grew in popularity for strange reasons. A nobody like him released a series of videos, raging and insulting an elementary school teacher, Iruka Umino who was trying to teach his audience phonetics and how to improve reading skills. Out of nowhere, he called this man everything but a child of God. Red in the face, relentlessly huffing and puffing.

His rants gained a lot of attention because of their absurdity. This deranged weirdo made bold and outrageous claims about the teacher. His audience was perplexed (and low-key entertained) since Iruka was the least problematic person on the Internet. Efforts to shut down Mizuki made him angrier as he noticed people either clowned him or defended Iruka.

It went for the worst when Mizuki started doxing him and his students leading to the teacher unfairly losing his job. The turn of events took everyone by surprise, but in all humbleness, Iruka made an apology video taking the blame for the situation and the inconvenience it caused his students and their families. He likely touched on his past and how him and Mizuki were friends (they were dating, but he did not say that) before leaving social media to Mizuki’s enjoyment.

Months passed, and net-citizens searched to the end of the Earth for their favorite sweet Professor but couldn’t find him. They could not predict that the next time they would see him would be on TV…

Well, in the height of the crazy debacle with Mizuki, the lawyer turned A list actor Kakashi Hatake watched the whole scandal go down. He was practicing and training for his next movie: Speed Hour. An action comedy with fellow fitness influencer, celebrity trainer, and part-time actor: Might Guy.

The movie involved speaking a foreign language, which was not Kakashi’s best asset. His manager has been harassing him to improve his pronunciation because of that damn mask he wears 24/7. Let’s knock out two birds with one stone, so he reached out to Iruka after he heard the teacher lost his job to then hire him as a speech specialist and help him prepare for his role.

Iruka was hesitant at first but accepted. Due to the movie's success, he became a celebrity speech specialist. Kakashi was a long-time watcher of Iruka’s former video channel. He found his videos, relaxing (and thinks the nice teacher is super cute). Iruka can now be seen on the red carpets of special events and is dating Kakashi. What an upgrade!

When Mizuki found out his attempts at sabotaging the former teacher failed, he had a mental breakdown during one of his live streams.

He vanished from the Internet to let the dust settle but came back with “The Strongest Podcast” where he discusses subjects important to men. Don’t hope too much because it is just questionable conspiracy theories, red pill narratives, and “exposing celebrities” content with his unhinge antics. He has not changed at all.

Matter of fact, he had made a tradition with his cohosts to call everyone and their mama gay. He has been on Iruka since his newfound popularity. Mizuki spilled every single intimate detail of their past relationship not realizing he was exposing his orientation and abusive antics (I made him blow me when I was driving & the cheeks are clapping). Don’t call him out, Mizuki would foam at the mouth if you call him gay. (I’m a strong, alpha male! I don’t do that gay shit!). One day, Anko (invited as a guest) called him out for just being a bitter, scorned ex missing his narcissistic supply and how he would still hit it if he could (She was right) but got dragged out of this studio by force.

Mizuki has a larger following than most people would like to admit. He has a really supportive fan base who 1000% agree with him and go to the front lines to defend him. A lot of people (supporters and hate watchers) tune in for his conspiracy theories, and when he exposes celebrities along with another random dude named Kabuto. They claim to have exclusive sources and hidden information in the deepest pit of the dark web. 95% of anyone coming across their content laugh it off as insanely far-fetched and move on with their lives. Many theories, claim to be real have their audience in a chokehold:

               •             The Uchihas are devil worshippers

               •             They leaked Sasuke’s real surname and aristocratic affiliations, rushing the disbandment of Taka

               •             Demeaning and toxic ideologies against other nations disguised as scientific facts

               •             Red pill content

We give them less credit than they deserve because they are still two deranged grey men who make such unhinged statements that it overshadow any “ truth” they put out there like:

               •             Calling anyone and everyone gay (with “proof”)

               •             The Earth is shaped like a cube

               •             Konoha’s president, Minato Namikaze is in fact, a woman.

               •             All men from Kiri have 10+ inches dicks

               •             Claiming to be the perfect example of masculinity and handsome looks

The recent trick up their sleeves is swearing on God, the famous actor Itachi Uchiha is homosexual. They came up with the most outlandish, mind-boggling proofs to support their bogus claims

Most of their accusations were ignored by the general public and still are till this day. The minute they threatened to release hotel security footage, revealing the identity of the basketball player the actor was allegedly entangled with, Itachi’s PR team came through the back door (literally) and shushed the duo for good. They vanished overnight, without a trace. The supporters of the channel are still trying to give Justice to Mizuki by keeping remnants of his account alive as much as possible (This is an attack on freedom of speech!) but are struggling since the claims made barely scratched the actor's public image.

The most ironic thing about all of this is that Itachi’s sex tapes could be leaked tomorrow and not affect his career or the public opinion of him AT ALL. Weirdly, he could walk out of this level of controversy untouched and brand deals intact. People would just blink twice and keep it pushing like nothing happened.

“Are you sure you’re okay with this, Master Iruka? It’ll only be for a couple hours, and I don’t have anyone else to turn to.”

Sakura looked pretty disheveled, holding in her arms a barely four year old Sarada. Said four year old was shyly hiding her face against Sakura’s arm. It was pretty well known that Sakura was doing the parenting all on her own. Sasuke never returned back to the village. But Sakura was doing an amazing job balancing being a mother and being the head of the medical division. Just sometimes she needed the extra help. She couldn’t always walk around with a small child attached to her hip at work. This was one of those times. Sakura couldn’t have Sarada running around while she was in meetings,

“You’ll have to forgive her, she’s still pretty shy around other people.” Sakura nuzzled the top of Sarada’s head,

“But you have nothing to worry about! Master Iruka was Mama’s sensei once! He’ll take good care of you!”

Sakura tried to calm the small girl’s nerves before placing Sarada into Iruka’s waiting arms. Sarada immediately reached back out to Sakura, “Mama-!” Sarada whined, already looking like she was about to cry. Sakura leaned in and gave Sarada gentle kisses on the cheek, 

“Don’t worry, Darling, Mama will be back soon, promise! Just be good for Master Iruka, okay?”

Slowly, Sarada nodded, pulling back her hand and rubbing her eyes. Sakura haatteeddd leaving Sarada for any length of time but she trusted Iruka and had no doubts Sarada would be fine. 

“If you need anything at all, Master Iruka, don’t hesitate to call. But you shouldn’t have any issues. Sarada is Mama’s good girl, right?” Sakura playfully ruffled Sarada’s dark hair, making the small girl finally crack a smile,

“I’ll bring dinner back for everyone when my meetings are over and you guys can tell me all about your day!” Sakura grinned, putting all her faith into her old sensei.

If the hospital is gatekeeping breathing treatments for an in office only thing, I'm gonna have some strong word with them! As it is, Hayate, please be safe and tell Yugao when it starts getting bad, we women ain't blind when you're struggling. As it is, I made soup for some of the others on this little website and figured you'd like some too, since cough syrup doesn't taste very pleasant.

Thank you for the soup and the support. It’s not that they’re gatekeeping; it’s just easier to access the treatments at the hospital. I do let people know when I’m really sick—the Hokage’s office is mad at me for skipping out on missions so much. That’s part of why I try to push through most of the time. But I’ll let someone know if it gets really bad.

I guess that someone should be Yugao or my mom or dad. But can you imagine Yugao carrying me to the hospital? So humiliating! That’s why I went to Iruka last time.

20220210 Hibernation

For the Umino Hours Iruka Winter Bingo and the prompt hibernation. Current progress is another prompt. I feel like there are a lot of animals you can connect Iruka with (be it summons or shapeshifting) but in the sense of mama or papa bear, I felt like a bear fit him too!

Lawine “My oldest brother was in the advance party that the Continental Magic Association sent into the Tomb of the Ruined King.”

Kanne “And Frieren and Fern left before we knew it.”

ラヴィーネ「それにおっさんは、ルールが無ければ容赦なく仲間を見捨てるタイプだろ。安易に協力できるか。」

Lawine “Besides, old man, you’re the type to mercilessly abandon your allies unless there are rules against it. Anyone would think twice about working with you.”

リヒター「確かに俺はおっさんだが、面と向かって言われると、くるものがあるな。」

Richter “It’s true that I’m old, but there’s something that stings about having it said to my face.”

カンネ「謝った方がいいんじゃない？」

Lawine “Sorry, old man.”

ラヴィーネ「先遣隊の観測結果によると、シュピーゲルはあの扉の向こう側。宝物庫の内部にいて、本体は攻撃手段を持たない脆弱な魔物だって話だ。ソイツを倒せば複製体は全部消える。」

Lawine “According to the advance party’s observation report, the Spiegel is in the treasure room on the other side of that door. The monster itself is weak and has no way of attacking directly. Once we defeat it, all the replicas will disappear.”

Denken “That matches what our mana detection revealed. The monster is on the other side of the door, but It’s shut fast with a powerful sealing spell.”

Frieren “I’ve confirmed that as well. My replica must’ve done it. It’s a spell that shuts the door of a treasure vault at the risk of your life. Even among folk magic, it’s a top-class sealing spell. That door won’t open until the caster is dead.”

Frieren “We could ignore that door and break through a wall, but they’ve probably already accounted for that.”

Denken “Either way, we’ll have to defeat that replica if we want to take down the Spiegel.”

ラヴィーネ「倒すなら急いだほうがいいぜ。」

Lawine “If we want to take it down, then we’d better hurry.”

デンケン「どういうことだ？」

Denken “Doiu kotoda?”

Denken “What do you mean?”

ラヴィーネ「シュピーゲルはダンジョンの中にいる奴全員の複製体を作り出す。その複製体は、時間と共に最深部に集まってくるっていう習性がある。前回の先遣隊は、兄貴の部隊を除いてほとんどが壊滅した。」

Lawine “The Spiegel creates replicas of everyone within the dungeon. Over time, the replicas begin to gather at the bottom of the dungeon. Aside from my brother’s unit, most members of the advance party died…”

ラヴィーネ「わからん。」

デンケン「確かにこれはフリーレンの致命的な隙だ。何故戦っている時に気が付かなかったんだ。いや、手練れという先入観があったからこそ、気づけなかった。」

Denken “Tashikani korewa Furīrenno chimei-tekina sukida. Naze tatakatte irutokini kiga tsukana-kattanda. Iya, tedareto iu sennyukanga attakara-koso, kizuke-nakatta.”

Denken “This is Frieren’s fatal vulnerability. Why didn’t I notice when I fought her? No, I couldn’t notice because of my preconceptions about experienced mages.”

デンケン「魔法を使う瞬間に、ほんの一瞬だけ魔力探知が途切れている。」

Denken “When casting a spell, she stops detecting mana for a brief moment.”

ラオフェン「それって見習い魔法使いがよくするミスじゃ…」

Laufen “Isn’t that a common mistake made by apprentice mages?”

フリーレン「昔から苦手なんだよね。」

Frieren “I’ve never been very good about it.”

フェルン「自覚があるのなら、なんで言ってくれなかったんですか？」

Ferun “Jikakuga arunonara, nande itte kurenakattan-desuka?”

Fern “If you’re aware of it, then why didn’t you say anything?”

フリーレン「だって恥ずかしいし…」

Furīren “Datte hazukashiishi…”

Frieren “Because it’s embarrassing.”

フェルン「そんなことを言っている場合ですか。」

Ferun “Sonna koto’o itteiru baai desuka.”

Fern “This is hardly the time to be saying that.”

リヒター「しかし他の技量が余りにも卓越しすぎている。実際にこの隙を突ける魔法使いなど、ほとんどいないだろう。」

Richter “But she is far too skilled in all other areas. I can’t imagine there are many mages who could exploit that vulnerability.”

Fern “In any case, let’s discuss our strategy.”

リヒター「フリーレンの複製体は何とかなるとして…」

Richter “Supposing we can handle Frieren’s replica, what about the others?”

フェルン「フリーレン様。なんだか楽しそうですね。」

Ferun “Furīren-sama. Nandaka tanoshi-sodesune.”

Fern “Ms.Frieren, you seem to be having fun.”

フリーレン「うん。」

Furīren “Un.”

Frieren “Yeah.”

ヒンメル「大体まとまったな。それじゃあアイゼンが敵を引き付けて、側面から攻撃���よう。」

Himmel “Sounds like we’ve got a plan. Eisen will draw the enemy to him, and I’ll attack from the flank.”

フリーレン「ハイターは？」

ヒンメル「今日は二日酔いで駄目な日だ。」

Himmel “Today’s an off day for him. He’s hungover.”

アイゼン「死んでる…」

Eisen “He’s dead.”

フリーレン「こうやってダンジョンのボスを倒すために、よく話し合ったなって思って。」

Frieren “I was just thinking about all the times we discussed how we’d beat the dungeon boss like this.”

Frieren “Okay. Let’s begin the attack.”

デンケン「勝てるのか？」

Denken “Katerunoka?”

Denken “Can we win?”

フリーレン「大丈夫。攻略できないダンジョンなんか存在しない。私は歴史上で最も多くのダンジョンを攻略したパーティーの魔法使いだよ。」

Furīren “Daijobu. Koryaku dekinai danjon nanka sonzai shinai. Watashiwa rekishijode mottomo ookuno danjon’o koryaku-shita pātīno mahotsukai dayo.”

Frieren “Don’t worry. There isn’t a dungeon that can’t be conquered. I’m the mage of the party that cleared the most dungeons in history.”

デンケン「本当にフリーレンの複製体と戦うのは、お前たち二人だけで大丈夫なのか？」

Denken “Are you two sure you don’t need any help fighting Frieren’s replica?”

フリーレン「少人数のほうが相手の行動を予測しやすいからね。」

Frieren “The fewer of us there are, the easier it will be to predict its movements.”

フリーレン「確かに全員で戦えば、ほぼ確実に勝てるだろうけど、大半が死ぬことになると思う。たぶん脱出用ゴーレムを使うような暇も無いよ。」

Frieren “If they surround us, we’re all dead. Follow the plan.”

デンケン「ああ。健闘を祈る。」

Frieren “Open the door.”

デンケン「…さて、このメンバーの中で苦手な相手を言い合おうか。」

Frieren “It’s the quickest spell there is. Besides, Zoltraak is a relatively new spell for elves. Not enough time has passed for us to reflexively defend against it. It takes only a moment for us to respond to it, but the time we spend thinking about it causes a delay.”

フリーレン「でもフェルンは違う。フェルンにとってゾルトラークは生まれたときからあって当たり前のもので、その身に刻まれていて当然の魔法使いの基礎だ。フェルンのゾルトラークなら私を殺せる。ありったけの魔力を叩き込むんだ。」

Furīren “Demo Ferunwa chigau. Ferunni totte Zorutorākuwa umareta tokikara atte atarimaeno monode, sono mini kizamarete-ite tozenno mahotsukaino kisoda. Ferunno Zorutorākunara watashio koroseru. Arittakeno maryokuo tataki-komunda.”

Frieren “You’re different, though. Zoltraak has existed since your birth. To you, it’s nothing special. It’s a fundamental mage spell engraved into your being. Your Zoltraak can kill me. Hit it with all the mana you’ve got.”

ゼーリエ「フリーレン。お前は私のことが嫌いだろう。何故私の元に来た？正直もう二度と会わないものだと思っていた。」

Zērie “Furīren. Omaewa watashino kotoga kiraidaro. Naze watashino motoni kita? Shojiki mo nidoto awanai monodato omotte-ita.”

Serie “Frieren, I thought you didn’t like me. Why have you come to see me? Honestly, I thought we’d never meet again.”

フリーレン「師匠（せんせい）の遺言状を届けに来た。」

Furīren “Senseino yuigonjo’o todokeni kita.”

Frieren “I came to deliver my master’s will.”

ゼーリエ「あれから50年。そうか。フランメは死んだのか。」

Zērie “Arekara goju-nen. Soka. Furanmewa shindanoka.”

Serie “It’s been fifty years. I see. So Flamme has died.”

フリーレン「悲しくないの？」

Furīren “Kanashiku naino?”

Frieren “You’re not sad?”

ゼーリエ「気まぐれで育てた弟子だ。」

Zērie “Kimagurede sodateta deshida.”

Serie “I only trained her on a whim.”

ゼーリエ「まるで報告書だな。」

Zērie “Marude hokokusho dana.”

Serie “It’s practically a report.”

フリーレン「何が書いてあったの？」

Furīren “Naniga kaite attano?”

Frieren “What does it say?”

ゼーリエ「皇帝が国を挙げた魔法の研究に認可を下ろしたそうだ。人間の文化圏では、今まで魔法は魔族の技術であるとして、表立った研究は禁忌とされてきた。働き掛けたのはフランメで、彼女は新設された宮廷魔法使いとやらの教育に携わっていた。私にそれを引き継いでほしいという内容だ。」

Zērie “Koteiga kunio ageta mahono kenkyuni ninkao oroshita soda. Ningenno bunka-kendewa, imamade mahowa mazokuno gijutsude aruto shite, omote-datta kenkyuwa kinkito sarete kita. Hataraki-kaketanowa Furanmede, kanojowa shinsetsu sareta kyutei-mahotsukai-toyarano kyoikuni tazusawatte-ita. Watashini soreo hikitsuide-hoshiito iu naiyoda.”

Serie “The emperor has authorized magical research nationwide. Until now, human societies have considered magic to be a technique used by demons, and openly studying it was forbidden. Flamme encouraged him to allow it and had been training the newly established imperial mages. She wants me to take over for her.”

ゼーリエ「なんて贅沢な奴だ。魔法の研究の認可が下りただけでも快挙だというのに、それ以上を望むとは。」

Zērie “Nante zeitakuna yatsuda. Mahono kenkyuno ninkaga orita-dakedemo kaikyodato iunoni, sore-ijo’o nozomu-towa.”

Serie “Such greed. Receiving authorization to study magic is a feat on its own, but she wants more.”

フリーレン「それってすごいことなの？」

Furīren “Sorette sugoi kotonano?”

Frieren “Is that such an impressive achievement?”

ゼーリエ「大陸最大の統一帝国が魔法の研究と軍事転用を始めるということだ。周辺諸国が黙っていない。僅か数十年で魔法は大陸中に普及する。人類の誰もが魔法を使える時代がやってくるんだ。これは遠く無い未来に人類が魔王軍に抗う力を手に入れることを意味する。」

Zērie “Tairiku saidaino toitsu teikokuga mahono kenkyuto gunji-tenyo’o hajimeruto iukotoda. Shuhen-shokokuga damatte inai. Wazuka suju-nende mahowa tairikujuni fukyu suru. Jinruino daremoga maho’o tsukaeru jidaiga yatte-kurunda. Korewa tookunai miraini jinruiga Mao-gunni aragau chikarao teni ireru koto’o imisuru.”

Serie “The continent’s largest united empire is set to begin studying magic and adopting it for military use. The neighboring nations are sure to respond. In just a few decades, magic will spread throughout the continent. We’ll enter an era in which all of humanity can use magic. In the near future, humanity will acquire the strength to fight back against the Demon King’s forces.”

フリーレン「そう。すごいことだね、とても。」

Furīren “So. Sugoi koto dane, totemo.”

Frieren “I see. That’s incredible.”

ゼーリエ「まったくだ。だがそれは私の望むところではない。帰れ。フリーレン。こんな遺言は到底聞き入れられん。実に不愉快だ。誰もが魔法を使える時代だと？魔法は特別であるべきだ。才ある者以外に教えるつもりはない。こんな物を寄越すとは。フランメとは最後までわかり合えなかった。所詮は気まぐれで育てた弟子だ。」

Zērie “Mattakuda. Daga sorewa watashino nozomu tokoro dewa nai. Kaere. Furīren. Konna yuigonwa totei kiki-ire-raren. Jitsuni fuyukaida. Daremoga maho’o tsukaeru jidai dato? Mahowa tokubetsude arubekida. Sai-aru-mono igaini oshieru tsumoriwa nai. Konna mono’o yokosu-towa. Furanmetowa saigomade wakari-aenakatta. Shosenwa kimagurede sodateta deshida.”

Serie “Indeed it is. But that’s not what I want. Leave, Frieren. I can’t comply with this final request. I find it truly displeasing. An era in which anyone can use magic? Magic should be special. I won’t teach anyone who lacks talent. How dare she send this to me? Flamme and I remained unable to understand each other until the very end. She was only ever a student I trained on a whim.”

フリーレン「師匠はゼーリエは怒��て遺言状を破り捨てるだろうって言っていたよ。それでも伝えておきたかったんだって。夢が叶ったよって。よくわからないよね。」

Furīren “Senseiwa Zeriewa okotte yuigonjo’o yaburi-suterudarotte itte-itayo. Soredemo tsutaete-okitakattan-datte. Yumega kanattayotte. Yoku wakaranai-yone.”

Frieren “My master said you’d probably get upset and tear up her will. But she wanted to tell you her dream had come true regardless. It doesn’t make sense, does it?”

フリーレン「じゃあ私は行くね。たぶんもう会うこともないと思う。」

Furīren “Jaa watashiwa ikune. Tabun mo aukotomo naito omou.”

Frieren “Well, I’m leaving now. I doubt we’ll meet again.”

ゼーリエ「フリーレン。その前に少し歩かないか。どうせ私達には時間はいくらでもあるんだ。」

Zērie “Furīren. Sono maeni sukoshi aruka-naika. Dose watashi-tachiniwa jikanwa ikurademo arunda.”

Serie “Frieren. Before you go, walk with me a little. After all, we have all the time in the world.”

ゼーリエ「誰もが魔法を使える時代は、フランメの夢だった。あの子もきっと初めは人類のためとか、魔王軍に抗う力とか、そんなものはどうでも良かったんだ。あの子のお気に入りの魔法を知っているか？花畑を出す魔法。なんの役にも立たないくだらない魔法だ。あの子は本当に魔法が好きだったんだ。世界中の人がそんな魔法を使えるようになってほしいと本気で願っていた。虫唾が走ったよ。まるで女の子みたいな可愛い夢だ。でも実際にそうだったんだよ。これはあの子が、私よりもずっと背の小さな小娘だった頃に語った夢物語だ。正直私はそんな時代はずっと先のことで、あの子には実現不可能なことだと思っていた。あの子は私にとっては無にも等しいような短い人生で、人類の魔法の開祖にまで上り詰めた。」

Sense “An era in which anyone could use magic was Flamme’s dream. I doubt she cared about helping humanity or the strength to fight the Demon King’s forces at first. Do you know what her favorite spell was? A spell to create a field of flowers. A useless, foolish spell. She truly loved magic. She genuinely wished for everyone in the world to be able to cast spells like that. It disgusted me. It was the fanciful dream of a girl, but it’s what she really wanted. She told me about this dream of hers when she was a child much shorter than me. Honestly, I thought that era wouldn’t arrive for many more years. I didn’t think she could accomplish it. To me, her life was so short as to be practically nothing, and yet she became the founder of humanity’s magic.”

フリーレン「師匠はいつも判断がとても早かった。まるで何かに急かされているみたいに。」

Furīren “Senseiwa itsumo handanga totemo hayakatta. Marude nanikani sekasarete iru mitaini.”

Frieren “My master was always quick to decide. It felt like she was in a hurry.”

ゼーリエ「人間には寿命がある。私達よりも死に近い場所にいるんだ。人生には重大な決断をしなければならないときがいくつもあるが、あの子達はそれを先送りにはできないんだ。私たちはそれを百年後にやっても二百年後にやってもいい。千年ほったらかしにしたところで、なんの支障もない。私達の時間は永遠に近いのだから。」

Zērie “Ningen niwa jumyoga aru. Watashi-tachi yorimo shini chikai bashoni irunda. Jinseiniwa judaina ketsudan’o shinakereba naranai tokiga ikutsumo aruga, anoko-tachiwa soreo saki-okuriniwa dekinainda. Watashi-tachiwa soreo hyaku-nengoni yattemo nihyaku-nengoni yattemo ii. Serie “Humans have limited lifespans. They exist much closer to death than we do. We must all make important decisions at several points in our lives, but humans cannot afford to delay them. We can afford to wait a century or two. Even ignoring them for a millennium poses no obstacle, as our time is closer to an eternity.”

ゼーリエ「フリーレン。人間が凡そ文明と呼べるものを築き上げてから長い年月が経った。これから先は時代が加速するぞ。たった千年だ。たった千年で人間の時代がやってくる。エルフ（私達）は人間に追い抜かれる。鍛錬を怠るなよ、フリーレン。」

Zērie “Furīren. Ningenga oyoso bunmeito yoberu mono’o kizuki-agetekara nagai nengetsuga tatta. Korekara sakiwa jidaiga kasoku suruzo. Tatta sen-nenda. Tatta sen-nende ningenno jidaiga yattekuru. Watashi-tachiwa ningenni oinukareru. Tanren’o okotarunayo, Furīren.”

Serie “Frieren, many years have passed since humanity created what could be called a civilization. From now on, their progress will begin to accelerate. A mere thousand years. In a mere thousand years, the era of humans will arrive. The humans will overtake us. Do not neglect your training, Frieren.”

ゼーリエ「お前を殺す者がいるとすれば、それは魔王か、人間の魔法使いだ。」

Zērie "Omaeo korosu monoga iruto sureba, sorewa Maoka, ningenno mahotsukaida.”

Serie “If anyone kills you, it will be either the Demon King… or a human mage.”

フリーレン「楽しみだね、ゼーリエ。これから先、たくさんの魔法使いと、色々な魔法が見られるんだね。」

Furīren “Tanoshimi-dane, Zērie. Korekara saki, takusanno mahotsukaito iro-irona mahoga mirarerundane.”

Frieren “I’m looking forward to it, Serie. We’re going to see so many different kinds of mages and spells.”

iruka absolutely smokes. you can’t spend like 10 years asuma sarutobi’s brother without picking up smoking okay. he quit when he adopted naruto but once naruto became a genin, he busts a pack open every time naruto gets into life threating situations. he went through like two packs once he found out about naruto fighting (s-rank criminal) zabuza.

I think the only fan work I can think of that ever challenges the idea that “Futo killed Tojiko” is nuebako’s “Why She Was Murdered”

I always like to HC Futo willingly took the responsibility for Tojiko’s death but never directly had a hand in it. Kind of like, Futo feels guilty for being absent (because she was “sleeping”) when Tojiko was killed. This would lead to Tojiko to be more willing to forgive Futo.
