Yes, so, there are definitely two stylists in the photo, and this is the primary reason I’m mostly convinced the picture is fake at this point, because even if you say there are two stylists there working and the black-haired stylist doesn’t show up in the mirror because of the angle or whatever (I still think she would, but this sort of angle/mirror thing confuses me), if you really look at them, they’re both working on the same part of Tae’s hair -- the front right -- which means they would basically have to be standing in the same place.

It doesn’t make any sense.  Even if there were two different stylists working on the same area of Tae’s hair at the same time, they wouldn’t be able to both stand right there.

At this point, this is what I think is most likely: there are (at least) three different photos in this image.  I think everything on the far right -- the black-haired stylist and the non-mirror Tae, what we can see of his head and shoulder in the foreground -- have been layered in over the mirror picture of Taehyung.

That explains why the stylist doesn’t show up in the mirror, why it seems like she’s standing in the exact same place, working on the same part of Tae’s hair, as the other stylist, and it explains the wonkiness of Tae’s hair there, because the edge of it looks blurred, as though it was blended in over the other image.

But obviously that can’t be the only edit, because what would be the point of editing the picture just to have Tae’s head and shoulder there?  The only motive for editing the picture is to show Tae and Jennie in the same place.  So if that right-hand section of the photo is edited in, I would assume the photo of Jennie is edited in as well.

The big question is obviously then where did these different photos come from?  I’ve seen some Blinks saying that the photo is likely real because Jennie’s private insta is pretty well known in the fandom, so she probably shared it herself, but that doesn’t hold up because the photo clearly has one source only (whereas if it came from a “private” insta that several fans have access to, it would have been shared by more than one source), and the whole idea of it being real despite not looking particularly real is that no one can find the originals.  That’s the main “proof” that the photo is real, which is easy enough for someone to claim if they know they have the only originals.

That tells me that if it’s real, whoever either got ahold of the photo, or if it’s not real, whoever got ahold of the original separate photos to then splice them together, was either someone in the room or someone who bought them from someone in the room.  My guess is that it was the latter, maybe someone who bought a handful of photos, possibly from different sources, and then tried to find a way to put them together to get the most benefit for themselves (or create the most chaos?).

I also think it’s possible that Jennie’s photo was just a personal photo, maybe an actual mirror selfie, and that someone bought the photos of Tae but got the Jennie photo some other way, like it being shared to a couple friends and then sold, or something like that.

Anyway, do I feel a little silly for going so in-depth on this?  Yes.  But I love a good mystery, what can I say.  When it comes down to it, the two stylists don’t add up to make a realistic image, so there’s definitely something fishy about the whole photo.

ETA: Someone pointed out that the black-haired stylist only appears in the mirror, and that the hand in the foreground is the hand of the blonde stylist, which debunks my original understanding of the photo, so I wanted to link that here.  My eye just wasn’t reading that aspect of the image correctly, but I see it now that it’s been explained.  This definitely makes the photo seem more potentially real, I will say, but there still just seems to be something off in Jennie’s presence in the background, like it just looks off to me.  I don’t know!

I’m leaving this post up because other than the parts about the stylists, I still feel much the same way about a lot of the rest of it, including that the source was probably sold originally since we’re only seeing this come from one place.  And thank you to the anon who pointed out my mistake!
