Loud & Deafening Silence

Vale's favorite part about life was the experience of air. Of wind. Fire needed air to be alight, to burn and bring warmth to others. Clouds needed wind to move and explore the neverending sky. And Vale needed to feel the wind on them to be whole. As they rode their motorcycle, they loved the wind in their face and the sensation of currents zooming past them and drifting. It was like flying! Minus the heights, but multiply the g force! Leaping across rooftops was the same, beautiful feeling. Jumping and hopping and feeling the world move under them, as if they were in a different city entirely.

Sometimes it felt like Vale lived in a different world. A world where they could fly, a world with sunlight and creatures soaring on the wind, a world where falling didn't hurt, a world where monsters could be defeated by sheer will, a world where heroes prospered and received an adoring public who cheered their name and fought for a better tomorrow. A world where things were going to be okay.

But then they open their eyes. Things weren't going to be okay if they didn't find a fucking way out of this! Things were never going to be okay if Adam smashes their goddamn windpipe! Green eyes flashing into the fluorescent, bright green staring down the soulless automaton of a man's red eyes before them. It is a sign of rage deep into the little mercenary's soul, and better yet, a sign of a certain somebody in their brain diverting full power to their gorilla arms. Vale has no use for their reinforced tendons now, and Johnny knows it, so Vale's gettin' their cyberware on their arms kicked into supernova.

Within reach of Adam's face, it's only a split second before Night City's resident spitfire has their arms fully ignited, hands surging forward to apply their scorching palms directly to whatever little skin he had on his face. If Vale was to die, then they counted on at least burning the metallic goliath's skin and melting those robotic eye sockets into puddles on the floor.

Damn that's varied, for some reason every other song that was showing up was a Kpop one, even though it's been months since i've last listened to some of them(asshole, whenever i shuffle my playlist none of these play but now that I'm doing this Spotify has decided to pull songs from the very depth of my listening history)
