DONO is a clean family entertainer and works due to its simplicity.

Dono Review {3.0/5} & Review Rating
DONO is the story of two strangers falling in love. Dev Saraf (Rajveer Deol) is based in Bengaluru and runs a start-up named Primary Workflow Solutions. The business is not going great. On top of it, Alina (Kanikka Kapur), his best friend since childhood and whom he loves dearly, is getting married. Dev declines to be a part of the festivities. But he changes his mind as he feels that attending her marriage can help him find closure. He flies to Hua Hin, Thailand where the marriage is taking place. There, he bumps into Meghna Doshi (Paloma), a close friend of the groom, Nikhil (Rohan Khurana). Another close friend of Nikhil, Gaurav (Aditya Nanda), is also present. He happens to be the ex-boyfriend of Meghna. Both broke up just a month ago. Dev and Meghna are poles apart. While he’s unable to come to terms that the love of his life is getting married, Meghna seems to have moved on rather well. Yet, both get attracted to each other. What happens next forms the rest of the film.

Avnish S Barjatya's story is nothing special. There’s hardly any storyline. Avnish S Barjatya and Manu Sharma's screenplay is engaging and is peppered with sweet and simple moments. However, the writing gets stretched after a point. Avnish S Barjatya and Manu Sharma's dialogues are devoid of any over-the-top one-liners and are very situational.Avnish S Barjatya's direction is uncomplicated. He understands the technicalities like a pro, despite being a debutant director. Also, just like the style of his father Sooraj Barjatya, his content is devoid of any intimacy or violence. It’s a complete, clean family entertainer. The situations in the film are very relatable be it domination by a partner, the quest to find closure, unrequited love, hypocrisy of the society involving womenfolk etc. Also, the troubles and fun associated with a destination wedding, especially when it’s abroad, make for a great watch. Some characters and comical scenes like the cricket match, Dev-Meghna's meeting at the pani puri stall, etc, add to the humour. On the flipside, at 156 minutes, the film is too lengthy. After a point, it becomes tedious to sit through the film. Secondly, the track of Dev and his parents is very unconvincing. It is strange that Dev is meeting his parents after three years at the Thailand wedding. Yet, he’s not shown spending time with them. Some factual errors distract viewers. For instance, Dev coolly says that he has a flight in 2 hours. Yet, he’s seated in his hotel which is more than an hour's drive from the nearest airport! Both Rajveer Deol and Paloma look great on screen and have a fine presence. However, they need to fine-tune their craft. Kanikka Kapur is decent. Aditya Nanda plays his character with panache. Manik Papneja (Gopal aka Gappu) is superb and raises a lot of laughs. Poojan Chhabra (Vilas) also adds to the fun. Rohan Khurana gets no scope. Sanjay Nath (Jagmohan; the groom’s father) is excellent as the man who never smiles. Micky Makhija (Dilip Saraf)’s performance suffers due to the writing. Mohit Chauhan (Ashok Jaisingh) leaves a mark in the beginning but later on, he doesn’t have much to do. Tisca Chopra (Anjali Malhotra) hams. Varun Buddhadev (young Dev) and Muskan Kalyani (young Alina) are lovely.Dono: Official Trailer | Rajveer Deol, Paloma Thakeria, Avnish S. BarjatyaShankar-Ehsaan-Loy's music doesn’t have a shelf life. The title song is the most memorable one. 'Khamma Ghani' is based on an interesting idea. This is followed by 'Mann Mauji', Khatt Mitthiyaan', 'Agg Lagdi', 'Lehenga Padd Gaya Mehenga' and 'Raangla'. George Joseph's background score has a cinematic, commercial feel.Chirantan Das' cinematography is appropriate. The locales of Thailand are well-shot. Sujeet Sawant and Sriram Iyengar's production design is top-class. Terrence Lobo's costumes are very glamorous, especially the ones worn by the leading actors. Shweta Venkat Mathew's editing is weak. The film could have been shorter by at least 15 minutes. On the whole, DONO is a clean family entertainer and works due to its simplicity, relatable goings-on and some funny and emotional moments. At the box office, it’ll need a strong word of mouth to attract its target audience. #DONO #clean #family #entertainer #works #due #simplicity Read the full article

MaNan #ReadingTogether
Blurb!1: Nandini wants to read with her boyfriend on a cozy winter evening but Manik can't seem to keep his hands off her.
"So FUCKING soft!" Manik breathed against Nandini's skin, trying not to get possessed by the lingering lavender mist around her neck. His hands squeezing around her hips, wishing it to be molded there for an entire eternity.
Her soft whimpers acted as an addiction for him dying to capture those melodies in his ear drums, she was just so perfect. Manik groaned. His index finger tapping at the curve of her hip. While the little angel's attention was partly occupied by the romance novel sprawled on her lap, blessing of Manik Malhotra's personal library shelf at home.
"Manik!" She scolded, when she felt her overly clingy boyfriend drop wet smooches on the crook of her neck, squirming in his lap, her soft form curling into his hard one. She slapped his pervert hand which was trying to flip its way inside her skirt.
"Yes, sweetheart?" Manik cooed at her, his hands still lingering over her stomach, while another one was shamelessly again trying to wave its path inside her skirt. His eyes softening up when his gaze fell on the beauty on his lap, her side profile looked angelically sculpted that he found himself hard to breathe.
"I thought you wanted to read with me." Nandini pouted against him, her form relaxing against him protesting a soft grumble. Manik's warm chuckle made her cheeks warm, his pointed nose smoothed against the warmth of her cheek, making her giggle against his hold. Manik couldn't help when his lips twitched upwards in a very genuine smile. She was just so adorable.
"I am" Manik smirked, which made her roll her eyes at him. "I am reading you, my love". Nandini groaned at his cheeky remarks. The sound making all the blood rush towards his south region. Making her aware of the very evident tent poking her below her. Nandini's eyes widened and color rose through her neck.
"Manik!" She shrieked, "Seriously?" Her hands flowing up to cover her heated face.
"I can't help it! Okay?" Manik argued defending his actions. "You try keeping a pretty girl, squirming in your lap."
"Manik!!!" She shushed him, her small hands covering his mouth, not allowing him to continue his bashful remarks.

I am of two minds about KYY Season 3. While a part of me is glad about seeing both of them together on-screen after a long time, we also know what happened with Season 2.
KYY Season 1 was a beautiful journey about the struggles of growing up - friendship, love, heartbreaks, family, relationships. The leads having this amazing chemistry which they managed to bring on-screen was an added perk. It’s been almost four years but I can still tell you about my favourite scenes, dalogues and every gesture and glance. That is how beautiful this was.
I could write a separate post on how amazing Manik Malhotra’s character transition was (one of the best on Indian TV imo).
I think KYY was a breath of fresh air when it came. The timing was perfect. But some things should be left untouched. This season is merely fanservice and while I’ll still see it when it airs (obviously) I’ll have no expectations.
These two are magical. I hope my cherished memories of MaNan do not get spoiled.
On a totally unrelated note, I still love these two characters. ♥

MaNan #TheSymbolOfLOVE
Blurb!2: Manik decides to gift Nandini something which would make her remember their love.
Going to school had never felt this nerve-wrecking to Nandini. She was absolutely confused about all the advances Manik has been making towards her. Everything felt like a very bizarre dream, which she never wanted to wake-up from.
Even now , when she sat next to him on the back-end of the basketball court. Manik felt as if he had been obsessed with her hands, they acted like crystal-meth towards his raging addiction. There hands felt perfect together, and Nandini absolutely adored his soft comforting touches , it felt like home to her , something she would crave in the darkest of the times and Brightest of the lights.
"you make me forget breathing." he whispered next to her ears , she rested her head on his shoulders slightly bending her head making those lustrous tresses fall over her face. Now that Manik looked , he was not only obsessed with her hands but the whole of Nandini itself. She did make him forget breathing.
"Manik , when will you exactly stop Flirting with me?" she scrunched up her nose , attempting to tease him , weirdly this turned him on too.
"how about never?" he grinned mischievously.
Suddenly Manik started fidgeting with his dress pants pocket , "Actually, I might have got something for you." he slyly smiled , casting her a glance of immense interest.
"Me" Nandini frowned.
"Yeah , Hold out your hand." he requested softly.
"What for?" she queried slightly curious , "just do it".
She slowly advanced her hands before him , to see drag out a emerald bracelet from his pants pocket , he looked down at her softly before tugging her hand and perfectly securing the bracelet around it.
"All done" he breathed, again grabbing her palms into his, "it's a gift , a symbol of us."
"it's beautiful, Manik" she exclaimed , refusing to take her eyes of his first gift to her.
