Two school years. Imagine, I was pulled out of my comfort zone and be with strangers, or people I know but are not close with at least for the start of senior high school. I'm glad I didn't think of moving into another class where I'd be more familiar with the people because everything was worth it. The two school years I have spent with you, they were worth it even if at first, uncertainty blinded me. But after all, what's fun is there in life when there's no adventure wrapped around uncertainty?

Two school years. It had been two long school years but who would've thought it would come by so fast and we're all here, at the end of the line of high school?

Two school years. Grade 11, all of us still had hangover, or at least I personally was, over my junior high school section, the bond that we have and the relationships and memories I have made along the four years I have spent in junior high. I was stuck to them and just clung to my gut instinct that maybe, just maybe, I'll get to like and get along well with the people I'm about to start senior high with. And besides, as if I had a choice. The only choice there for me was to suck it up -the strange feeling I get over new and uncertain things. Good graces, I did and I personally believe, I did it well -choosing to stay and believing. It turned out the others look at me as a stranger just as much as i see them as so it's quits.

First school year. Days go by, until months were spent through 11th grade. Pressure was on, I was elected president for fun but the responsibilities and duties I carried was no fun at all. I had to lead the class by example and what I do and must do was anchored to "President ka e." Although I was pressured from all of these expectations and standards I have to meet, tough luck, I got it through and it was you who made it possible. (My grade 12 ass is laughing at my own 11th grade self bec duh she didn't know the worst is yet to come hikhok.) Anyways, back on track, Teachers' Day went by, Ma'am Rosa's bday went by, Christmas Party celeb went by, a new year was welcomed, all 4 periodic tests were survived through 'batuhan', 'psst-ing' and 'sshhh-ing'. Clearances were signed, fees were paid, and the first school year in senior high school was done and over. Grade 11, we are over and out.

Second school year. Same old, same old. Same old classmates, same old vibe and atmosphere but I guess amidst all of these oldies are the new memories. The countless pancit we ate at Joanna's family's panciteria, at other panciterias (lowkey remembering M.F. Soriano and the looooongggg wait and Farmland and the good pancitttt 🤗), the several times @Anti Vilma's, the sisig goodness @sisigan near USLT (4-5 cups of rice ez does we 😂🤷), the recreational activities we did during PE, the sudden worry and concern for sudden fainting of our classmates, the gardening, the research cram, the immersion getaway, the NSPC-privileged vacay, us, officially becoming 'maniniyots', the Christmas Party celeb, the Teachers' Day celeb, the fuss and worries over CETs and scholarship applications and tests, all 4 periodic tests we had to endure (i actually wrote this before the COVID-19 crisis we are currently facing so i guess it's just 3 periodical tests now and so, scratch that), the absence of a 4th periodical test, the absence of a Prom, the absence of a Socialization Night/Day or whatever we were supposed to call it, the absence of a graduation ceremony, and the months we spent separated from each other because of the suspension of classes and the need to home quarantine. I guess we going through a pandemic but we are going through it together, fortunately.

I can never say that I'm ready for college. Especially that as i am writing this, I don't even know where I'm going or what course i am going to take. But i truly, definitely, absolutely, really do hope and believe that as the days pass by then, as i prepare for and get on another stage, as we all do, we get to not just overcome and survive but conquer it. Because high school built us up for that and this thought, we should make sure we never forget nor abandon. It was the time to break through or break down -highschool. And I'm lucky enough to have met you because YOU ARE contributory factors and played essential roles as to how in highschool, i was able to break through. I'd be glad to know if i was that to you as well, and i helped you break through.
