Verity had just gotten off her shift at the bar, but had decided to hang back for a bit and pester her colleagues while enjoying a free drink of her own. It wasn’t often these days she had the chance to go out an enjoy herself, but she had been productive this week and as a result, she could finally kick back and relax. She sipped off her mojito, sucking up the final few drops of the freezing cold liquid with the straw that was placed between her lips as she looked up to try and get the attention of someone to order another.

“See, but that’s fucked up Marcos. You can’t just be out here challenging me to a game of pool like it’s nothing.” Rori was a few cocktails deep and ready for a different scenery besides this bar she’d found herself in. As luck would have it, her favorite of Fallbrook’s finest happened to show up.

It was time to come out of hiding (although town event’s felt jinxed at this point), so Abigail dressed up in last year’s costume and headed out. She got the day off work last minute and had no time to call anyone to join her but she wasn’t sure if anyone would pick up after she had been ignoring almost everyone in her life. Not Marcos though, something about her changed after she showed up at his house late that one time. The act felt like an act of rebellion and like she was revolting against a life in which every step was planned out. She wanted more of that (and more of him). Abigail was smiling before she even reached him. “I have to admit that I was half expecting to run into you wearing a little police officer number. Color me impressed, M.”

In an uncharacteristic twist, Ophelia was posted up at the end of the bar at Tappin’ Boots, on a weeknight no less. While it would have made far more sense to get drunk in her own apartment or at least at a bar closer to home, her masochistic streak was showing. Instead the brunette had turned up at the bar closest to Oliver’s house because maybe some small part of her was hoping he’d come in. This bar was one of the places they’d come on one of their first dates back in high school. She’d been terrified about getting kicked out but he’d made it fun. Tonight was a different story and she’d have to make her own fun it seemed. Assuming the librarian was even capable of doing so.

The last person he expected to see there was Marcos. He honestly had no idea the other man was from Asteria, which in itself would be odd. But Eli found himself more recluse than most in the small town, so it shouldn’t have been that much of a surprise when he saw the other man. And maybe two weeks ago he might have strayed away from approaching him. But things lately had been pushing him towards opening up and he figured now was as good as a time as any. He took in  deep breath before grabbing his drink and heading over to the other man. “Hello Handsome. Fancy seeing you here.” He smiled.

The police station was quieter than Reagan had ever seen in all her years living in Asteria. The place was like a ghost town, as if the building itself still bore wounds from the night of the ball. Slowly, the brunette made her way into the main office, knocking on the door. Seeing Marcos through the glass, she waved with her free hand and walked into the space. Carefully she set down the box on his desk. “Hey...sorry to drop by like this unannounced on you guys. But I wanted to drop these off.” She opened the box to reveal and array of sweets and pastries. “I-well, no, Theo baked these. I think he was just looking for an outlet. But I thought these could go to more use here than me just eating them all myself.”

Running into Marcos outside of group therapy at the rec center on a regular basis was starting to become a habit, but not one that Abigail minded in the least bit. The cop was hot and he showed her a good time (and she felt like she finally broke through some of his walls because he talked to her in a more friendly way now). She grabbed an extra plate of food and went to find him sitting outside. She took up a spot next to Marcos and handed him the food. “Before you say anything, just try it. It’d not going to kill you to eat something.” She stuck a finger out at him. “And I know you know how to work up an appetite so don’t pretend like you’re not hungry.” The night they spent together a couple of days ago was still fresh on her mind, but nothing about it felt awkward to her (no matter how spontaneous it had been).
