The Marda Gras Street Festival is the longest-running street festival in the city and it is celebrating its 36th birthday on Sunday.This year, tons of artisans, small businesses and creators are taking the streets of Marda Loop to show off their wares and services. Dancers and musicians will also be performing and various groups are scheduled to show off their musical talent.Festival manager Shannon McNally said she is expecting a total of 40,000 people to stop by the event this year.“It’s a local community event but it also draws a lot of people from all around the city for the uniqueness,” she told Global News.“There’s a huge neighbourhood feel here. Covid-19: une vision ayurvédique
Le médecin ayurvédique Dr Marda a établit une corrélation entre les symptômes du Covid-19 et les concepts ayurvédiques mentionnés dans les textes anciens (Charaka, Sushruta). Il suggère des mesures préventives et des remèdes simples.

Le Dr. Gh. Marda est médecin ayurvédique à Pune, en Inde, il a beaucoup voyagé en Europe depuis 20 ans. Les informations ci-dessous sont extraites d'une analyse approfondie du Covid-19. Elles sont destinées aux personnes familiarisées avec les concepts ayurvédiques. Si vous souhaitez soutenir ses efforts pour mieux comprendre la maladie, veuillez voir en bas de la page.
A. Symptômes connus du Covid-19 :
Fièvre
Toux persistante
Fatigue ou épuisement
Essoufflement
Perte de l'odorat ou du goût
B. Concepts ayurvédiques associés à ces symptômes :
Jwara : fièvre (symptôme dominant) de type Vata / Kapha ou les 3 doshas impliqués
Kasa : toux et Shwasa : troubles respiratoires
Pratishyaya : troubles nasaux
Shosha : troubles dégénératifs / liés à l'âge
Kriyakshayakaratwa : incapacité à se mouvoir / agir
C. Concepts ayurvédiques liés à la contagion :
Agantuja hetu : facteur causal externe affectant toutes les conditions mentionnées ci-dessus.
Les maladies transmissibles affectent principalement le Vata dosha (lié au transport) qui affecte à son tour Kapha sthana (dans les cas nouvellement contaminés).
D. Principaux facteurs à considérer pour une ligne de traitement :
Jwara
Vata associé à Kapha
Pratishyaya et Shosha
E. Ligne de traitement suggérée (prévention / symptômes légers principalement) :
En interne : alimentation, épices, jus et décoctions
Extérieurement : applications d’huile, gargarisme
Mode de vie : sommeil, exercices de respiration
F. Remèdes de soutien (prévention / symptômes légers) :
Régime alimentaire à dominante liquide : soupes (légumes et / ou viande), lentilles (dal) cuites avec de l'ail, du gingembre, de la coriandre.
Épices : gingembre, coriandre, curcuma, ail, poivre, cannelle, basilic, etc.
Jus : jus de fruits aigre-doux, jus de gingembre avec du miel, miel + poivre + boisson sucrée, basilic et jus de menthe avec du miel.
Décoctions (comme le thé mais les ingrédients sont bouillis plus longtemps), selon la disponibilité : cannelle, coriandre, gingembre sec, cardamone, cumin, etc. 3 à 4 fois par jour.
Si vous buvez du lait : chèvre ou vache, bouilli avec du curcuma, de la cannelle, du gingembre, de la cardamome (lait doré).
Application d'huile / de gras dans les narines : par ex. du ghee mélangé à de la cannelle ou de l'huile de noix de coco, d'amande ou d'olive combinée avec des huiles essentielles, du camphre, etc. (odeur forte).
Massage corporel (Abhyanga) avec de l'huile : huile de sésame ou toute autre huile végétale, éventuellement mélangée avec du sel pour application sur la poitrine. Prenez ensuite un bain chaud ou une douche chaude.
Gargarismes avec de l'eau chaude salée. Également avec une décoction de curcuma et de sel. Avaler éventuellement le dernier gargarisme ou effectuer une extraction d'huile.
Dormez tôt (22h) et réveillez-vous tôt. 7 à 8 heures de sommeil minimum.
Légers exercices de respiration tel que pranayama / respiration abdominale.

Marda Gras Street Festival is an annual event in the business district of Marda Loop. This year, the event will be hosted on August 13, 2017 will mark its 32nd year. The festival is comprised of 200 + vendors, three live music stages, one dance, performance stage, a children’s area, food truck lane, and a show & shine car show. The event footprint encompasses a six-block radius in the heart of Marda Loop. Community residents, local business, and Calgarians from all over the city attend this event. The festival has an average attendance of 35,000 people and runs from 10:00 am–5:00 pm. Join us by helping out with these positions: - Help out the Stage Managers - Be an Environmental Educator - Help out in the Kids Area - Work in the Info Tent - Be a Block Captain - Be part of the Set up/ Tear Down Crew There is something for everyone. You'll be an integral part of community involvement with an opportunity to give back. You'll meet amazing people and see our vibrant city at it's best, all while having fun.
