Lepom: The Ebotti region

Welcome to the Ebotti region, a calm region south of Mount Ebott and its vast mountain range. This is the region Sans and Papyrus call their home! The region is filled with lush forests, colorful grasslands and glittering streams of water originating from the mountains. The villages and towns littering the land are full of culture and history and are composed of friendly, close-knit communities. The most well-known towns are Home-Village and New Home City, as the oldest and busiest towns respectively.   Besides their hilarious names, the two towns are quite different: Home is located near the base of the mountain and is a bustling town when celebrations are held, but any other day it's just peaceful and quaint. It's not very big, but its location is connected to the region's history and the people living there know that quite well. It has a path that leads to the side of the mountains, where the caved-in caverns and mine can be found. It also has a museum which explains the history of the region to tourists and kids on school trips. This is where the fossils, crystals and antiques found by explorers of the Ebott caves are displayed. 

   New Home, on the other hand, is a lot bigger with more utilities and shops and is far more popular with the youth and other newcomers to the area. It's still not a huge high-tech city with flashing lights and neon signs, but it certainly stretches wide, and it does have buildings with more than 3 floors! It has a reputation of having both a large amount and a large variety of markets, like the weekly fresh product markets, the bi-weekly clothing market, the monthly crystal sales, the-     uh, yeah, all of them.   All of these products are provided by the neighboring towns and villages, as a way to share all the nice things this area has to offer with visitors and locals alike! This is also one of the few places that actually has a pokémon stadium that’s somewhat well known, as there isn't much of a trainer challenge in the area for those who wish to become strong. Beauty contests are far more beloved here, and people will come from all over for the seasonal and thematic variations! Although you can follow them on TV no problem :)

   Finally, moving between towns is relatively safe, if only for the fact that there's always someone willing to lend you a hand on your travels. The main routes don't hold very impressive pokémon, and the pokémon there are pretty used to humans. The nature routes and wild areas are more interesting though: lazy rivers, sandy lake beds and decaying ruins of old buildings are shielded from view by dense broad-leaf forests and the multicolored grasslands and small farms along the path. Locals know how to find them though, and as long as people are respectful they are allowed to visit these places to catch a new friend, do some research, or do some non-intrusive recreation like a small picnic. Beware though, that some pokémon might expect some of that sweet lunch you brought!

Since this is a piece about the entire region, I’ll only do a brief overview of what you can expect to see if you move through the area + some honorable mentions. So not a complete list!    (this list is mostly for me to use when I start writing about the region but here it is anyway :3)

Again, the pokémon found in this area seem like common species you’ll find in many regions. If you know where to look you can find some unexpected or ‘more interesting’ ones though! 

On farmlands, you may find Wooloo, Tailow, and Mareep,

At night, you may find Drifloon, Pumpkaboo, and maybe Zorua,

In and near towns, you may find common dog, bird or cat pokémon like Yamper,  Pidove or Skitty. (the dog and cat pokémon are rarely wild though!)

Some common woodland pokémon are Stantler, Hoothoot, Zigzagoon and Deerling,

Some common meadow pokémon are Vevillion, Cutiefly, Buneary and Cottonee,

Some common waterside pokémon are Wooper, Magicarp, and Mudkip.

Honorable mentions: the Slowbros at the waterside who Sans hangs out with, the Scorbunny and its trainer who Papyrus plays ball games with, and the well hidden Eevee families across the region.

Sure!

So this one will be a fairly quick one as furfrou is generally known as a very simple to care for, common pokemon. There's very little complexity in their care.

The main thing to remember is that their fur is constantly growing, like a wooloo. Without monthly trims, a furfrou is at risk of matting, skin tears and overheating. As they only allow those they trust to cut their fur, forming a good bond is essential.

For those who like a more elaborate cut, building a bond with the stylist is essential. Many stylists will allow appointments that consist of just hanging out, playing, friendly battles and treats to build a friendship with your furfrou. Many professional battlers, on the other hand, just shear their furfrou once a month and don't go for the fancier cuts. If you want to go that route, you can literally use the same electric shearers they use on wooloo and mareep.

Furfrou actually don't much care for or understand fashion, and won't care much whether they have some elaborate hair style or a buzz cut. So the choice is pretty much up to you. So long as it has a chew toy or treat while it's getting trimmed, it's fine either way.

Do woohoo and mareep crosses give diffrent types of wool? And can cottontee cotton be harvested.

Wooloo and mareep crosses have two forms, the dominant genes will be moms. If mom was a wooloo you’ll get thicker, softer wool. If mom was a mareep, the wool tends to be not as soft, but more durable. This is an average, other factors are at play with breeding, it’s not always so cut and dry. Because the hybrid Pokemon are so hard to breed and get consistent genetically, they’re not really used for wool in large herds. Makes more sense for farmers to invest in good strong Pokemon, that give a guaranteed yield.

When I say ‘coarse’, I don’t mean like wire wool, it’s still soft, just not as much as others.

This whole thing doesn’t factor in if your hybrids have other species in their bloodline, it’s very possible, and can change up the species you end up with, and it’s potential adaptions too.

As for cottonee, yeah, they’re very much a Pokemon that needs to be brushed from time to time, and the cotton pulled from them is excellent for all sorts. They will naturally regrow cotton with time, we brush ours monthly, and come away with a few sacks of cotton every time. Great for Pokemon bedding. Don’t brush them during winter, they need the extra padding.

This was SO GOOD!  It has just the right amount of angst and fluff and smut, and Hux and Rose are just so soft and open and honest and just GOALS, so yeah, it’s lovely :-)

A couple of little ideas I had with Manon that I didn't really want to turn into full pieces because my art-ing is being weird and only wanting sketches. And they're minor ideas and I have too many major ones floating in my head right now.

I love Mareep and want to fluff one, but I had the thought that petting one would be like holding a balloon loaded with static. Or one of those plasma balls.

Finally decided to place Manon in a specific place on the Pokemon timeline as she looks at a magazine (a Pokemon Trainer Monthly retrospective feature?). The original Lance sprite looks like a relatively young gremlin around 18-19 and it's 2 years between Gen I and II and Gen II is where Team Rocket actually did a full, announced Takeover. (Also, she is traveling in Johto, so it's a relevant event.) ... So that, for me, puts Lance around his early 30s and Blue and Red around their mid-20s?

Pretty sure that's how Dragonair hugs people it likes.

DIAMOND PLAINS: The place in which the first cities and towns were built, Diamond plains are full of the usual pokemon you’d expect, From small roaming herds of ponyta to the wandering family of skuntank and stunky kits. Outside of the major city of opal, The grasses grow large and tall here though perhaps a bit dry so there is a few fires a year. It’s often considered the beginning route for trainers who have just joined the go initiative. Notable pokemon of diamond plains - Ekans (Common) - Meowth (Uncommon) - Pidove (Common) - Fletching (Recent addition) - (Rare) - Diglett (Common) - Bunnelby (Common) - Noibat (Only at Night) - (Uncommon) - Zubat (Only at Night) - (Common) - Plusle & Minun (Only at Day) - (Uncommon) - Sentret (Common) - Mareep (Uncommon) - Entei (Legendary) ---- ALEXANDRITE SWAMP: A place wedged in between a desert and the plains, Alexandrite swamp is not a big place, though it is a widely populated place with pokemon. There is no escaping without getting a little wet and hidden pitfalls are rumored to exist that lead to a wide underground cave system.

It’s no longer inhabited, Although it used to be, Nobody knows what happened to the people that lived here. But it’s cautioned for ones own safety, to leave before dark. This field gets a lot of sun, Though it’s also bathed in moonlight at night and it shares some common pokemon with Diamond plains. Though it also has some unique additions all it’s own. The waters are warm but only moderately and only one part of the region. There is colder water over by mount moonstone and even some small ice bergs & Ice floes. There is a single curved bay where all the seaside arrival takes place. There’s often some kind of farmer’s market of foreign travelers selling not to easy to achieve items that cycle monthly. Though what makes this mountain really danger is how unmapped it is, It is widely unexplored and the fact pokemon have been seen mega evolved with no trainer.
