Christian Dior | ‘Soireé de Décembre’ | c.1955 ——— This silk faille evening dress is from Dior’s Y Line. The seemingly simple princess line gown is a sculptural masterpiece. Here the front of the skirt is short, reaching lower calf level - at the back the skirt forms an impressive train that sweeps the floor. The hem and neckline are stiffened and lined to hold the rigid shape. The particular dress was ordered from Dior by Margot Fonteyn, a long-standing client of Dior. favorite color: it's hard to find a shade of pink that doesn't agree with me, but for my apartment i've been marrying shades of blush and rose to sage green to give off briar rose's cottage and i didn't think i'd love the combo as much as i now do! last song: someday i'll meet you again by ilene woods (thank you chris 🥹) currently reading: tab hunter confidential. he's still objectively stunning, but i like him less on a personality standpoint than i did before reading this book. i'm also reading green dolphin street (beautiful writing, not completely my style but lovely in its own right), marlene dietrich by her daughter maria riva (beautifully written, though very long), an american tragedy (difficult to get into), and the francis a. schaeffer trilogy (am reading it on recommendation of an older acquaintance i have respect for). currently watching: the goddess of spring (1934); the energy is so strong. also, i didn't realize it's never even been confirmed who the english singing and speaking voice is of the goddess (or if it's even the same person) currently craving: french fries, the ability to make smooth, aesthetic gifs again (if you have any tips, lmk!!!) and also being able to make tiktok edits (again- if you have any tips, please lmk!) coffee or tea: tea any hobby you’d like to try?: i'd really love to get into cake decorating and painting in the style of realism, specifically any au/alternate universe you’ve been plotting for?: always 40s steve and ilene iykyk
