CONTOS DOS JV — #18 || Liam Braddock & a Guarda do Inverno

A enorme sala de treinamento da Guarda do Inverno já estava cheia de energia quando Jackie e Liam entraram. A equipe toda estava reunida, se aquecendo, conversando e brincando uns com os outros, enquanto se preparavam para o que estava prestes a ser uma mistura de treinamento e jogo competitivo que gostavam de fazer.

— Tudo bem, London Boy. — Jackie disse, virando-se para Liam com um sorriso travesso, caminhando de costas. — Hora de ver se você realmente consegue trabalhar em equipe.

Liam cruzou os braços, fingindo desinteresse, como sempre.  Mas a verdade era que ele estava começando a se acostumar com aquela equipe. Mais do que isso — ele estava começando a gostar deles. Para sua surpresa, Jackie e seus amigos só eram reservados no começo. Agora, já pareciam mais amigáveis. Pareciam pessoas interessantes. 

Mas ele tinha uma reputação a zelar. Ele revirou os olhos e bufou.

— Consigo. Apesar de me sair muito melhor sozinho.

— Claro, claro. Mas esse é o problema. — Jackie apontou para ele. — Você não estará sozinho hoje. Então se vira para acompanhar.

Liam não respondeu. Apenas manteve seu olhar em Jackie enquanto ela se afastava, indo em direção a Lukyan e Arkadiy, que estavam disputando, de brincadeira, alguma coisa que tinham em mãos.

Pelo que Jackie havia explicado para ele previamente, as regras eram bem simples: duas equipes, uma de ataque e uma de defesa. Um objetivo no centro e uma mistura de estratégia de combate e agilidade para protegê-lo. Foi projetado para melhorar o trabalho em equipe, a coordenação e o raciocínio rápido.

Jackie e Liam estavam em lados opostos — ela liderando Lukyan e Arkadiy na defesa, enquanto Liam se viu ao lado de Mariya e Francesca no ataque. Svetlana estava de fora, assistindo a partida ao lado da novata. Seus olhos pararam nela. Nadya ainda sustentava os hematomas do ataque que sofrera dias antes, mas eles já estavam começando a clarear. Mesmo assim, ela ainda parecia péssima.

Jackie havia lhe dito que ela estava tendo dificuldades em se enturmar, mas estava melhorando aos poucos. E que Svetlana parecia ter tomado para si a tarefa de fazer com que a adaptação dela fosse mais fácil, então costumava estar sempre próxima de Nadya.

— Achei que os britânicos tivessem bons modos. — Francesca apareceu ao seu lado, tão silenciosa quanto um gato, que quase o assustou. Liam lançou um olhar confuso para ela, e Chess continuou. — Não fique encarando.

Ele trincou o maxilar. não gostava que chamasse sua atenção.

— Não estou encarando. Eu só… — Ele respirou fundo, mudando seu tom. — Como ela está?

Francesca lançou um rápido olhar para Nadya antes de olhar para o chão.

— Ela é mais forte do que parece. É uma sobrevivente. Vai ficar bem.

Antes que Liam pudesse dizer qualquer coisa a respeito, a voz de Mariya surgiu entre os dois. Ela estava vestindo sua armadura escarlate, que parecia grande e pesada demais para se movimentar em jogo daquele. Mas ela parecia se virar bem, então ele não fez comentários. 

— Os dois vão ficar jogando conversa fora, ou vamos criar um plano para acabar com eles?

Liam sorriu de forma arrogante.

— Eu já tenho um plano. Vocês me cobrem e eu ataco. Sempre funciona pra mim.

Mariya imediatamente abriu a boca para protestar, mas foi impedida por Francesca, que fez um gesto com a mão. 

— Você ouviu ele, Dínamo. Já tem um plano, e sempre funciona pra ele.

Liam não gostou do tom debochado usado pela mais nova, mas ele era um cavalheiro e decidiu ignorar. Apenas ajustou seu equipamento e esperou que aquele jogo tivesse início.  Quanto antes terminasse, melhor.

As duas equipes se preparam, e Svetlana deu sinal para que a partida tivesse início. Em um piscar de olhos, a sala explodiu em movimento.

No começo, ele tentou jogar com seu estilo usual de lobo solitário — disparando para o objetivo sozinho, sem se preocupar como Francesca e Mariya estavam se saindo, ou se precisavam de ajuda. Mas toda vez que ele se aproximava, alguém da equipe de Jackie bloqueava seu caminho.

Lukyan o cortava no meio do caminho, e o jogava sobre uma de suas colegas. Arkadiy, em sua forma de urso gigantesco, pairava sobre Liam, imóvel, como uma parede inquebrável. Passar por ele parecia impossivel. E Jackie… bom, ela conseguia derruba-lo com uma facilidade que estava começando a incomodá-lo de verdade.

Minutos se passaram desse jeito, até que Svetlana anunciou uma pequena pausa de cinco minutos. Uma pausa muito bem vinda, por mais que Liam não quisesse admitir. A primeira metade do exercício de treinamento havia sido brutal — Jackie, Arkadiy e Lukyan foram implacáveis. E, se ele fosse honesto consigo mesmo, Liam sabia que era sua culpa o fato de estarem perdendo.

— Talvez você queira começar a usar uma estratégia junto com suas companheiras, Avalon. — Jackie provocou do outro lado da sala, antes de voltar sua atenção para os dois rapazes com ela.

Ele cerrou os dentes, e então olhou para Mariya e Francesca, ambas ao seu lado. Nenhuma das duas parecia impressionada com seu desempenho.

— Ela está certa, sabe? — Mariya começou. — Você luta bem, Braddock, vou admitir isso. Mas não vai ganhar sozinho. Não é assim que esse jogo funciona.

Parte dele queria rebater, mas ele apenas concordou com a cabeça em silêncio.

Chess sorriu, cutucando-o com o cotovelo. 

— Você tem que entrar no jogo e nos deixar ajudar. Acha que consegue?

Liam bufou bruscamente, percebendo que elas estavam certas. Ele passou a primeira metade da partida confiando demais em seus próprios instintos, tratando-os como reforços em vez de verdadeiros companheiros de equipe. Claramente aquela estratégia não estava funcionando.

Ele passou a mão pelo cabelo, assentindo. 

— Certo. Estou ouvindo, qual é o plano?

Mariya jogou as mãos para o algo. 

— Finalmente!

Francesca se colocou de frente para Liam, segurando os joelhos dele.

— Preste atenção. Darkstar é o verdadeiro problema. Ele está teletransportando-os e nos mantendo desequilibrados. Você e eu podemos desconcentrar ele juntos. 

Liam assentiu, considerando as palavras dela.

— Tá, acho que podemos fazer isso. Mas e quanto ao Ursa? Tentei passar por ele várias vezes, mas não deu.

— Boa observação, Sherlock. — Mariya brincou. — Mas sabe que consegue segurar ele? Eu. Se tivesse me deixado fazer isso antes, ao invés de ficar entrando no meu caminho o tempo todo, não estaríamos aqui agora.

Liam lançou um olhar irritado para ela, mas não disse nada, porque sabia que ela estava certa.

Francesca então apontou para o campo de treinamento, onde seus oponentes estavam se reagrupando.

— E aí sobra a Jackie. Ela é rápida e sabe como lutamos. Mas se controlarmos o campo de batalha em vez de deixá-la ditar o ritmo, como vem fazendo desde o primeiro momento, temos uma chance

Liam pensou por um momento, e sorriu. 

—Distrair Darkstar, isolar o Ursa e desacelerar a Jackie.  Soa como um bom plano.

Mariya deu um tapinha no ombro de Liam, que foi forte demais por conta da armadura

— Agora sim parece que estamos na mesma página.

Quando a partida recomeçou, Liam se jogou no novo plano. Francesca e Mariya trabalharam perfeitamente ao lado dele e, pela primeira vez naquela tarde, eles pareciam como uma verdadeira equipe. 

Mariya foi direto para cima de Arkadiy, forçando-o a manter toda sua atenção nela. Enquanto isso, Chess e Liam trabalharam em conjunto para fazer com que Lukyan usasse seus poderes de forma intuitiva e não estratégica, e ao invés de usar mais o teleporte, ele foi forçado a usar sua energia negra para criar escudos protetivos. 

De repente, Jackie precisou escolher um deles para ajudar. E quanfo foi em direção a Lukyan, Liam se colocou entre eles. Usando golpes rápidos e precisos com sua espada, ele conseguiu fazer com que ela engajasse somente com ele. Aquele não parecia ser seu plano inicial, então ela se tornou um pouco mais lenta. Jackie foi forçada a recuar, e a cada passo para trás que ela dava, mais perto Liam ficava do objetivo.

Estava funcionando. Por alguns minutos, realmente parecia que eles poderiam vencer.

Mas Jackie, sempre a estrategista, finalmente percebeu o plano e se ajustou muito mais rápido do que Liam poderia prever. 

— Pensa rápido, Avalon.

Em um movimento inesperado, ela parou de se defender e jogou seu escudo contra Chess, que estava distraída com Lukyan, fazendo com que Liam reagisse imediatamente para interceptar o golpe antes que atingisse sua colega de equipe. 

Essa pequena jogada foi o suficiente para mudar toda a dinâmica da partida. Jackie disse um número aleatório, e Liam notou rapidamente que era um código para uma jogada ensaiada. Em um piscar de olhos, Lukyan estava de volta ao lado de Jackie, e havia teleportado Arkadiy para perto também. Reagrupados, eles voltaram a ser uma parede inquebrável, protegendo o objetivo.

Liam, Chess e Mariya tentaram se reagrupar tão rápido quanto eles, mas sabiam que já não tinham mais chances. Não foi preciso muito mais tempo para que a vitória do time de Jackie fosse declarada.

Ao fim da partida, ambos os times estavam sem fôlego e levemente machucados, mas a energia não havia diminuído.  Lukyan comemorava com Jackie e Arkadiy, que havia retornado a sua forma normal, enquanto Liam, Chess e Mariya estavam jogados no chão, exaustos.

E apesar de tudo isso, Liam tinha um sorriso em seu rosto. Um sorriso teimoso, que ele não conseguia desfazer, por mais que tentasse. Eles haviam perdido, sim, mas ele precisava admitir que aquilo tinha sido divertido, muito divertido.

— Quase pegamos eles! — Chess comentou, com uma risada, e Liam sentiu seu sorriso crescer ainda mais, se é que aquilo era possivel. 

— Da próxima vez, se nos organizarmos antes. — Mariya lançou um olhar brincalhão para Liam, antes de empurrá-lo pelo ombro. — Nós vamos. Eles não tem chance.

— O que foi que você disse? — Lukyan se aproximou, um sorriso petulante estampado em seu rosto. — Desculpa, é que não falo a língua dos perdedores.

Em resposta, Mariya apontou a mão de sua armadura para ele, atirando uma rajada de energia em sua direção. Lukyan teve tempo de se proteger com um construto, mas foi lançado para o outro lado da sala.

Arkadiy caiu na gargalhada ao ver a cena, mas Svetlana não. Ela se aproximou, um tanto quanto irritada.

— O treino acabou, podem parar com isso.

Uma discussão amigável começou entre ela, Lukyan, Mariya e Arkadiy. Liam estava tão absorto em assistir todas aquelas interações, que nem notou quando Chess se levantou para pegar água, e Jackie se aproximou dele, tomando seu lugar.

Ela jogou uma toalha em seu rosto, chamando sua atenção, e então sentou-se ao seu lado.

— Nada mal, Avalon. — Aquilo foi o mais próximo de um elogio sincero que ela havia dirigido a ele. — O que você achou? E não minta pra mim, estou vendo esse sorriso na sua cara.

E Liam não parou de sorrir.

— Vocês são um time unido. —  Ele fez uma pausa, ainda olhando para os outros membros da equipe, rindo juntos. — Faz muito tempo que não jogo em grupo. E sinceramente? Foi bem mais divertido do que eu esperava, por mais que eu não esteja acostumado com tudo isso.

Jackie riu, parecendo satisfeita com aquilo, antes de cutucar seu ombro. 

— Você realmente se saiu muito bem. Mas ainda tem muito a aprender.

Ele a cutucou de volta. 

— Eu sei, eu sei. Mas estou no caminho certo?

Ela o encarou por um momento, estudando-o com o olhar.

— Talvez. Toparia fazer isso de novo?

Ele não precisou pensar, a resposta já estava na ponta de sua lingua.

— Com vocês? Claro.

O sorriso de Jackie se alargou, e seus olhos brilharam, mas ela tmou cuidado para conter sua reação após isso. Ela apenas balançou a cabeça.

— Então veremos.

NOTA: Caaaaaaara, eu to pra postar esse aqui desde o começo da semana, mas só consegui terminar agora. Enfim, eu AMEI escrever um pouco mais com o pessoal da Guarda, mostrando um pouquinho deles como equipe e o Liam se enturmando com eles. Não consigo expressar o quão feliz eu to por eles estarem aparecendo mais aqui, sei que já disse isso antes, mas a Guarda é minha segunda equipe favorita e está sendo incrivel poder dar um destaque e desenvolver eles melhor, então obrigada pelas asks pra eles 💜💜 Sobre a timeline do conto, eu imagino que tenha acontecido antes do Liam e da Jackie irem pra Inglaterra (porque preciso mostrar a Jackie no ambeiente dele também né? hehehe). Tem mais contos deles treinando juntos e fazendo missões juntos e começando a ser mais fofos um com o outro, mas aí pode ser que eu vá soltando sem uma ordem de fato, espero que não se importem. Aliás, eu estou escrevendo um conto que pediram das listas ontem e tá sendo um dos meus favoritos ashusuashu espero terminar até amanhã. Ps: Eu revisei umas quatro vezes, não sei se ficou bom, mas eu espero que voces tenham gostado. Eu me diverti escrevendo esse continho aqui hehehe

Personal overall recap GPF 2019 - Only positive vibes in this post

I don't want to finish this GPF experience greedy (see last post), so I decided to list all the things that I loved and really liked a lot at this GPF!

YUZU MADE IT TO THE GPF UNINJURED! And did get out of it without injury! 😍

I could see Yuzu live for the 2nd time and he was the best skater there and the best performer! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ (The mistakes really didn't matter on a performance level)

Seeing Yuzu live made up for every single thing that I didn't like here!

I get tons of good photos and it will be fun to sort them out, especially those of Yuzu. (admittedly I think I am really bad at photographing Yuzu, seems like my hands are trembling seeing Yuzu)

Kevin Aymoz winning 🥉!!! 🎉🎉🎉I love his style and the reaction was sooooo cute! He wins my ❤️!

The sportmanship of Nathan and Yuzu! (Some fans should take notes)

Seeing Sui/Han live for the first time and that they won their first GPF title! 🥇🎉 They really are a whole different level of pair. And their skates just draw you in.

The highlight of the Pairs was the FS of Peng Cheng/Yang Jin though! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

I also liked the other Russian pairs, a great future in Russian pairs ahead. Not there yet but they will grow!

Papadakis/Cizeron SD and FD. They are magnificent! ❤️ No more words needed. "Fame! They gonna live 4ever!"

The ice dance events were a highlight of the competition! Such high level ice dance! And so enjoyable without anxiety!

The FD of Chock/Bates is so much fun and so interesting to watch🐍 😁!

I also liked Stepanova/Bukin a lot. Their SD is 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥! She is a real beauty. 😍(personally I would have put them in 3rd place, but it's not like I am that upset about it)!

Alena Kostornaia's FS was really good. I enjoyed it more than in Grenoble. The program might be trashy but she really has a lot of fun. And that is catchy! I prefer a trashy program over a skater who does not like their own program at any day! (Not sure if that counts as positive vibe, but I am also happy that it wasn't Trusova winning here.)

I also found out that I like Anna Shcherbakova's skating style. More in the SP than in the FS. Seeing her live changed my opinion about her and that is a good discovery. 😊

Rika Kihira going for the 4S. She is coming for you Russian ladies! She tried it and that counts. Also she was the only ladies skater I got goosebumps from! Go Rika! 😊

Shun Sato's FS in junior men!!! THAT WAS AMAZING!

The Georgian ice dance pair in juniors who skated to "In the end" from Linking Park. Mark their names: Mariya Kazakova/Geory Reviya 🇬🇪!

The German junior pair Annika and Robert are also one for the future! Annika is such a delight to watch! Go 🇩🇪!

Meeting fans and collecting a lot of gifts! Thank you to each of them who gave me something! I appreciate that sooooo much!

I am pretty sure I forgot one thing or the other, but all that matters is to finish on positive vibes. It really wasn't all bad, feelings can be a tricky thing. And I probably look back at this at some point and think about why it was a good experience!

Jackie: Engraçado você dizer isso, porque acho que ninguém teria escolhido ele, só eu, porque ele é meu pai. Mas na verdade, a heroína que se tornou mais famosa e serviu como inspiração para todos nós aqui, foi a Darkstar, a mãe do Luka. Então ela é a minha favorita.

Svetlana: O meu é o Colossus. Eu gosto muito dele, sempre me inspirei nele e tentei seguir seus passos. Ele é um bom homem, e isso é importante.

Lukyan: Eu sempre gostei da Magik, acho ela super foda.

Arkadiy: Viúva Negra. Gosto do estilo dela.

Nadya: Assim como a Jackie, eu escolho a Darkstar. Sempre fui muito fã dela, mesmo depois que ela morreu. Eu tinha vários brinquedos e posters dela quando era criança.

Mariya: Os Dínamos sempre foram meus favoritos. É por isso que assumi essa posição na equipe.

Francesca: Eu gostava do Vanguarda, mas acho que também vou escolher a Viúva Negra. A história dela é inspiradora.

Mariya: O seu plano é ótimo, mas e se não funcionar? Jackie: Aí eu vou dar um soco bem forte nele até ele cair. Isso sempre parece funcionar.

Mariya, qual o seu poder ?

Mariya: Eu já tive muito poderes. Hoje em dia, no entanto, posso apenas me curar muito mais rápido, sou um pouco mais forte e mais rápida do que um humano comum, e não envelheço. Jackie: Me surpreende dizer isso, mas eu escolheria o Connor.

Arkadiy: Hazel. Ou talvez o Mason, mas eu acho que eu conseguiria trabalhar melhor com a Hazel.

Svetlana: Eu escolheria a Megan, sinto que nós duas temos mais afinidade.

Lukyan: Caramba, não achei que fosse ser tão difícil escolher. Acho que eu iria com o Sam. Ou a Scarlett. Ou o Aiden. Gosto bastante dos três.

Francesca: Eu fico com a Scarlett. Você escolhe um dos outros dois.

Mariya: Abby. Eu até diria o Logan, mas não sei se seria uma boa ideia.

Nadya: Não conheço nenhum deles, então não sei dizer.

Jackie , vc tem interesse em chamar um peso pesado pra sua equipe ? Algo na nível da feiticeira escarlate e da Capitã Marvel ?

Jackie: É claro, isso seria realmente muito bom. Conseguimos nos virar muito bem só com nós mesmos, mas alguém do nível delas seria bem vindo. O problema é que não temos muitas opções disponíveis. Não estamos nos Estados Unidos, onde a cada esquina você encontra uns quinze heróis ou mutantes nível ômega. Trabalhamos com opções um pouco mais limitadas. Nós até temos um feiticeiro bem poderoso por aqui, mas ele é muito recluso, então até hoje não conseguimos contato com ele.

Mariya: É uma pena que não podemos voltar à época onde tínhamos dois deuses na equipe. E é uma pena maior ainda que não sabemos onde o corpo do Vostok está. Ele resolveria todos os nossos problemas.
