Can I how you start illustration in first place? Like, what tool you use? Do you purchase any lesson? Suggestions? Thank you!

i started with a mechanical pencil and a lined notebook meant for school actually 😂 no fancy tools, just those! after a few years of drawing on paper (all black and white), i switched to digital art. i’ve used a few different programs - photoshop, paint tool sai, medibang paint, etc. i looked at a lot of free online art tutorials as well to help with separate things like anatomy, hair, eyes, colouring and so on.

now i do all my drawing on my ipad because i like drawing on the couch tbh… for the past few years all my art has been done on Procreate (a paid app), but i have recently dabbled using the (free) Paper app which is VERY basic.

fancy and expensive tools don’t really matter when you’re practicing, keep it simple! sometimes complex art programs can work against you with the range of tools/functions they have when you really just need a drawing tool, something to draw on, and something to erase your mistakes. be it digital or traditional media.

most importantly, draw stuff you like. fanart, original art, sceneries, whatever floats your boat!

The idea that someone has grabbed an OC from what is possibly one of the teeniest dying fandoms on here and applied rule 34 of the internet is laughable. Like come on, no way someone actually did that.

But on the off 0.00001% chance that anon is being genuine, I say it’s unlikely it’s actually my MC. She doesn’t exactly have the most unique design. And look, even it was my MC, I’m not going to go diving in the dark corners of the web to find it.

Sometimes I look at your blog, and I just want to cry.

Your art is so good, you are so talented, and from what I understand from some of your answered asks, you aren’t planning on making a career out of it. You make art when you feel like it and it just bleeds with emotion and story and heart. It is gorgeous.

Meanwhile, I have been dying to be an artist my entire life, I take the available classes and struggle with the assignments and techniques, yet when push comes to shove, I clam up when I attempt drawing and struggle to make myself create what I love, I put it off for days if not longer until I feel confident enough to make something, and I find myself second/third/infinity-guessing myself, my ideas, my direction, and clam up all over again unless I’m in the rare golden moments when I’ve found and am flowing in my groove, until I look at it again after an hour—day and my confidence crumbles all over again.

I guess I’m saying that you inspire me, and I hope I will allow myself to let go of my anxiety and low self-esteem and just create when I want to and feel like it and just let the image and process be so I can move on and enjoy the journey.

you know something? i read this ask yesterday and it filled me with such a boost of creative energy that i haven’t had since december and since then i smashed out two pieces of art and am now halfway through another??? i think a lot more about drawing then actually doing the drawing tbh, and for every piece i upload here there is like 5 failed attempts to do it.

and you know something else? the entire second paragraph of your ask? i get the same way. i am never 100% happy with what i draw, because i imagined it to be so much better before i even started drawing it. i just upload it anyway because you know what? it was close enough, it was the best i could do at that time. and that’s ok. and honestly, i want to draw pretty much all the time. but i can only bring myself to actually draw when i’m in the right mood and have a clear picture of what i want to draw in my mind. vibes are not enough to push me into it. which is a shame because the feeling you get when i drawing starts coming together is pretty awesome, and it’s the “starting the drawing” part that i find the hardest.

you say i inspire you? anon you literally inspired me. please don’t put down or underestimate your abilities. i have complete faith in your ability to produce art that makes you happy, and you’re working hard to do it. i hope that i can offer you even half the inspiration that your message gave me. 💐

Hi! I am about to have a vasectomy for my girlfriends sake, and I have been talking to my dad about his vasectomy. He told me to be careful about the song I pick to listen to while getting my nuts snipped, because that song will forever make me think about the operation when I hear it in the future. you sure you don't want to be knocked out? just a little light sedation so you don't even have to worry about associating a particular song with the Big Snip? unless it's a cost thing, then by all means just have local.

If you’re referring to this post, it’s just a random cat she saw while out for a walk. ☺️

That being said, her grandma was a breeder for Kneazle/cat hybrids so she spent a lot of time around cats as a kid and got on well with them. I actually did originally have a part-Kneazle cat for her as a pet a looong time ago but i honestly just forgot about it ..😅

She was given it as a kitten when she was about 6 to teach her some responsibility. By the time it was fully grown, it was like the size of a bed-pillow not including the length of the tail. She loved that cat to bits, it was more of a familiar to her than a pet, really.

Idk how to word this so it may sound a bit weird but - how did you arrive at your current style? Like what was the process and journey like :)

As you can probably guess, I got my start trying to draw like my fav animes at the time (f.ruits basket and then n.aruto) . Just like filling notebook after notebook with anime drawings.

Eventually I started creating lots of OCs, and again referred to anime style art to draw them.

I honestly can't pinpoint the time where my drawing style became "my own", it just happened gradually. I started looking at lots of online artists and their less stylised but still kind of anime/manga-inspired style of drawing, and tried to incorporate some of that I guess?
