I just read an excellent fic yesterday wherein the author fully invented a whole Romulan novel just for Julian and Garak to talk about. Being as invested as I was, I commented on the fic letting the author know how interested I was in an expansion of their ideas of Romulan history or more details about the fictional novel itself.

This beautiful fucking human being replied to be WITH A WHOLE FUCKING ESSAY DETAILING THE PLOT OF THE NOVEL AND THEIR HEADCANONS ON ROMULAN CULTURE IN REGARDS TO ITS INFLUENCE ON THIS FAKE FUCKING NOVEL!!

Im devastated this novel will never exist! I need it so badly! But also like. Star Trek fans? Nobody is doing it like they are. They’re fucking crazy (affectionate). They’re inventing whole cultures, art forms, books, paintings, people, etc.. They’re creating whole Tolkien-esque worlds for a 4k fanfic about a fucking pretty boy doctor and his gay ass lizard homie.

i’m unable to stop thinking and right now i am thinking about the fact that, while clearly Robin and Steve worked at scoops ahoy, there’s no way they were the only two. those two worked closing shift, as we see from watching them lock up shop and do all their super secret spying on russians,,, and with that in mind, i am imagining steve x reader, grumpy x sunshine where reader is the opener/morning shift worker and the two of you only interact for brief blips of time where handover happens and steve thinks he can’t stand you but robin being robin is like “this man is striking out with every woman that’s entered this store because he’s too dumb to realize the only woman he wants to flirt with is the one who leaves just as soon as he gets here

and then you come in one afternoon/evening maybe after a movie and you’re in your cute/stylish street clothes and THAT is when it finally hits steve how down bad he has been this whole time.

and it’s certainly not one-sided… it’s not exactly in your job description to rush around doing extra cleaning and prep work, refilling the toppings and wiping down tables, just before he and robin get in… but it makes his life easier.

que steve literally not knowing how to act once he realizes he has a crush. super awkward handover. trying to be smooth while talking to you by leaning against the glass only to overshoot and accidentally knock all the sugar cones to the ground, effectively undoing your prep work for him… he’s so so so screwed.

eventually he’s checking the schedules and finding a day you both have off so he can finally muster the balls to ask you the fuck out.

you would say yes, of course. how could you not? look at him. he’s steve.

Update on my foot pain: got it diagnosed as sesamoiditis last month and had my first PT session a couple days ago. Gotta continue those for a month and see if I make any progress. Supposedly my case is mild just persistent so I'm feeling pretty hopeful about recovery over the next month, we'll see. Seems better than it was back in march.

big lesson i'm taking from this is always stretch your calves and hamstrings

there's something to all the focus on the sons that have been shown this season and how they specifically relate to eddie.

jem - shows how him and is father are properly grieving the death of jem's mom (this one is a little iffy, cause I know eddie and chris have the smores thing, but that's not really grieving, imo)

weston - shows a father who can't/won't understand his child, but ends up possibly coming around.

denny - shows a child leaving and coming back again (him flatlining) and a parent who will doing anything for that child (Karen doing a risky transfusion to save him).

and now will just have to see what is going to be shown with the boys (jack, I think one of them was called), from episode 6th

Today I'm sad about the ymca. Because of fucking Donald Trump, and the fucking village people playing at his inauguration, and how this thing that meant something is now broken. It was a gay song! The gay song! For us gays! And now it's the orange fascist song. It's tainted and broken, and it tastes disgusting to me. People are doing the dance and laughing, and I'm just so sad. In the club grieving. Idk.
