Yan María Yaoyotl is the founder of lesbian feminist-socialist groups: Lesbos and Oikabeth.

She is also a TERF or as I like to call them Feminist Appropiating Radical Transphobes and probably a bit biphobic too.

Yan María defines herself as an abolitionist feminist, proletarian and ecoethnocommunist social fighter, as well as an art worker. She starts from a holistic vision of reality based on the proposal of Marxengelism, Mahayana Buddhism and Toltequity. She has participated and collaborated in various national and international social movements against social injustice and for the construction of a new world organization not based on the relationship: oppressors/oppressed, exploiters/exploited.

In 1973 Yan Maria began her studies of philosophy at UNAM, in the light of Marxism, and began her participation in the revolutionary (not reformist) left. In 1976 she began her involvement in the feminist movement and co-founded the first lesbian-feminist group in Mexico in 1977. In 2002 she was founder and director of the women artists' organization MujerArte, A. C. Since 1977 she has been the custodian of the archive of lesbian-feminists in Mexico from 1976 to 2020. From 1988 she worked in the library of the UAM-X where she was a union member. She has supported several indigenous struggles, particularly that of the Triqui people of San Juan de Copala. She has also collaborated with environmental initiatives to prevent the depredation and plundering of the biosphere and dispossession of indigenous territories, such as the fight against GMOs.

She is also deeply committed against the disappearance, trafficking of women and femicide, and continues to fight against the commodification of women's bodies promoted by the sexual diversity market (MDS), as well as against the disappearance of women promoted by queer theorists (TQ).
