So she’s been doing an amount of directing/producing (somewhat uncredited) since at least the handmaiden in 2016 and was a credited production manager on walk up in 2022 and head of production in hong sangsoo’s In Our Day this year and she didn’t attend cannes for the first time in years and while I’m not able to fact check this according to this tweet this is the reasoning given

which I think is vague enough to support my idea as a conspiracy theory but probably not super plausible but I do think she’s definitely going to start directing at some point.

1. book you’ve reread the most times?

Tough question because I used to reread books as a kid more than I do as an adult, especially Roald Dahl favorites. There are a few things I reread every Christmas but they’re all short-story-length (”The Tailor of Gloucester,” “The Dead,” “A Child’s Christmas in Wales”). Adjusting for all that, the answer might actually be We Have Always Lived in the Castle, although A Canticle for Leibowtiz and The Makioka Sisters are in the running too.

3. what is your favourite genre?

I’m a fantasy reader at heart, although I can be quite picky within the genre, especially with newer books.

last movie: barbie (2023). movies that can teach you that well all moods and intentions considered you wring enjoyment out of anything really. to put it optimistically

reading: wuthering heights baby ! again

watching: nothing at the moment.......reading lets you set your own pace and sometimes when you've settled into that comfort there's no coming back from it for a while (exceptions are well-loved shows that get better w every rewatch but. off the tv roster rn)

consuming: the last thing was an ice cream sandwich. taste mediocre objectively but the construction and steps of consumption so gratifying as to make up for it

craving: redacted. also uncouth 2 crave when you're warding off the tendency to be hypocritical abt duty unfortunately. in other words it is exam season which is enough said
