Is home soil something that could be effective in binding someone? I'm working on a jar spell, and my current idea involves burying a poppet's head upside down in their own home's soil like an ostrich so they mind their own business instead of mine. Trying cut down the holiday drama if I can.
Okay, this sounds BRILLIANT. Home soil is definitely a potent ingredient in spellwork, and this is an interesting use of the component.
Binding spells with similar intent that I know of include wrapping or stitching the mouth and eyes of a poppet and tying its' hands together. Related spells for improving a sour attitude sometimes involve sinking the puppet head-downward in a jar of sugar or honey. Could be additional elements to try if you wanted.
Good luck!

Another discovery at the Giza Pyramid Complex in Egypt! Archaeologists have used ground penetrating radar to uncover a 4,500 year old hidden chamber in the ancient necropolis, a structure as old as the Great Pyramids.

4. After many years, the Milky Way and surrounding galaxies have been entirely overtaken by this single entity. Suddenly deprived of food, the organism begins to STAGNATE.
Living dungeons collapsing. Cell walls buckling.
5. The organism transforms into a distorted parody of the former planet Earth, a foul, expansive hellworld - filtered, again, through Peanuts.
Pumpkin patch and pitcher's mound.
End result: There exists an infinite, nonsensical world with all locations, living things, and social interaction based on half-remembered dreams. Thousands of years to fester and the memory is going bad, the original book having been long since lost in the constant churning reshaping. This new, living world has been dying for millenia. You are here to watch an alien rot.
Separate, self-contained consciousnesses flicker in and out of the world, governed by nothing, generating their own idiosyncratic, meaningless, ephemeral societies taking cues from greedy fussbudget Lucy van Pelt or tranquil philosopher Linus.
Life bulges out of life and sinks back in before anything notices.
Autonomous tumors effervescing.
When beings here are born, it is from the bosom of Spawning Pits, fountains of liquid comic-strip mimicry.
And when they die, it is in the Mastaba Snoopy that they are interred.

Statue of Kaipunesut - Met Museum Collection
Inventory Number: 26.2.7 Old Kingdom, Dynasty 4 ca. 2528–2520 B.C. or later Location Information: From Egypt, Memphite Region, Saqqara, Teti Pyramid Cemetery, Mastaba of Kaemheset, Egyptian Antiquities Service excavations
Description:
Although archaeologists differ in their evaluation of the date of the tomb from which this statue originates, features of the decoration of the mastaba and of other stone statuary in the tomb indicate a possible date in mid-Dynasty 4 for this wooden statue and another in Cairo of Kaipunesut. The early date suits the semicircular eyes and elongated lips of the face. Few wooden sculptures are preserved from the fourth dynasty. Kaipunesut's belt is finely inscribed with his name and titles, the first being "Royal Carpenter." Perhaps he was involved with making his own fine wooden statues.

Beware the curse of the pharaohs! Howard Carter feared such a curse when he breached the tomb of King Tut, and it seems he was right. Were the tombs of ancient Egypt deliberately seeded with uranium, and was radiation the “disease that no doctor can diagnose”?

The Mystery of Mastaba Tomb 17
The robbery of Mastaba Tomb 17 is of great archaeological interest. Mastaba tombs were burial tombs that predate the pyramids. They were rectangular tombs built of mud brick, with the sarcophagus buried deep inside. They were meant to keep out would-be tomb raiders. However, raid the tomb, they did.
This particular Mastaba is located in Meidum, not far from the original Step Pyramid of Djoser. How it was robbed remains a mystery that archaeologists would love to solve.
