You see things from every perspective you’re not quick to judge you know everyone comes from different paths in lives and may see things differently. You may have struggled with mental health, anxiety or depression in your childhood or teen years this really played a part in who you are today. You may be a teacher or want to be a teacher of some sort or had a teacher in your life who you looked up to I’m getting miss honey and Matilda vibes. You make what seems impossible possible. Someone here could be 22. You have a lot of stability you’re ready for anything. You see everything as an opportunity. You don’t let people get in the way of your path in life. You know how defend your self you usally don’t tho if someone says something about you you just like I feel sad for them like “you must be miserable to hate on me” but if you need to defend yourself you’ll snap and get your point across.

I just finished watching the movie adaptation of matilda the musical!!! i feel like I need to put up front that I did like it because im about to be really nitpicky. It’s just that matilda is one of my favorite musicals and i really don’t like when movie adaptations cut out songs.

which this version did - it cut out the two wormwood songs (Loud and Telly) which makes sense because the wormwoods also get trimmed down the most in the junior version of the show. But i was most surprised and dissapointed that Pathetic was cut??? Miss Honey’s songs are really important and Pathetic is the one that gets referenced throughout the rest of the show and it sets up her relationship with the trunchbull vs her desire to help matilda.

then two really little things: Micheal was cut which is annoying because I like him and also he’s important for seeing how the parents treat their two children differently and adds to matildas sad situation. And then right before the school song we learn that matilda and lavender are both starting school late and it’s not all the little kid’s first day of school. I thought it was a weird thing to change? I don’t understand it. also i think there was some dialogue between the older and younger kids that was cut? (because the younger kids except matilda and lavender werent there) and do the transition into that really awesome song was a bit weird.

Positives! All the acting and singing was wonderful. I’m so impressed with everyone. The scenery was beautiful and I loved getting to see the songs performed in a realistic setting rather than in a limited stage set. Revolting Children was as always my favorite song. The dancing was really cool. A new song at the end was added Im pretty sure? I thought it was cute.

Overall its a pretty good adaptation tho i like the stage musical much better

Three Fun Facts About Me:

I have never been in a relationship before. Ever. The only experience I have in that department is through other people's stories, not really my own. And by that, I mean that I'm used to watching my friends/people around me getting in and out of relationships, and listening to songs about romance and love and heartbreak... but not really relating to them due to not having any of those experiences myself (but it's alright, tho. It'll happen when it happens! In the meantime, I always have my made-up ships from my writing lol).

My favourite book growing up was "Matilda" by Roald Dahl. I thought Matilda was such a cool girl growing up lol. And lowkey relatable in a lot of ways. No, I wasn't a child genius. But she kind of fits into the archetype that I always found comfort in due to being that kind of person myself. Smart/intellectually curious, bookworm, introverted/independent, genuinely kind and has a heart in spite of being seen as cold by others (another example of this is Huey from Boondocks. Been rewatching some episodes of that show recently and wow... forgot how crazy it was lol. It's good, tho).

Christmas is my favourite holiday! 🎅❄️🎄I do get why some people may dislike it, I guess (like, my younger sister isn't a fan, and she's explained why... I get it. The over-commercialisation of it takes a lot of the "specialness" out of it, you know? Distracts from the actual meaning behind it and all. Plus, it can suck if you're just feeling sad and lonely during a time of celebration for everyone else. Aside from that, technically Easter is more significant if you look at it from the lens of which Christian holiday is most important). But I love the joyfulness and festiveness. Makes me feel all jolly and cosy inside. Plus, I love singing Christmas carols. And presents. And Christmas movies. I just love Christmas lol.

Favorite season:

Autumn. Or fall, as some others prefer to call it. That's when my birthday is!!

(Second place is summer because that's holiday season. Plus, that's when my sister's birthday is.)

No. It'd be cool to be, though. Pretty sure I've mentioned this at least once before, but I want to self-publish the Stephanie Smith saga once I'm done with it.

Introvert or extrovert?

Introvert. 100% introvert lol. I feel most comfortable within myself when I'm by myself. As a kid, I was so painfully shy that the thought of going up to someone and asking a simple question would terrify me lol. As I got older, though, I was super duper lonely, and I realised that I had no real friends because I was keeping myself all closed off in a tight shell, so I'd literally force myself to open up and become more social and make friends with other kids. I practised it, like how you do with any skill. Now it's not so bad. I'd say I can carry a conversation with someone fairly well, even if I don't know them so well.

Favorite meal:

Ooooh.... this is hard. I love most foods lol.

I think I'll go with something a little bit more traditional. I'm Kenyan, and one of my favourite meals that I've grown up eating is chapatti and stew (any kind of stew, or soup. But my mum would usually make this stew with kidney beans. That was a big hit growing up). Haven't had it in almost a year, tho.

Aside from that, I love pizza. And Nandos.

Nobody asked but here's my headcanon on Gladstone's guardians as he grew up

Like most Gladstone Stans I do subscribe the Daphne-Goosetave parentage, including the bit where he ends up orphaned, and like any proper Gladstone Angst Enjoyer, Sign of The Triple Distelfink and his unlucky birthday are part of it.

And then for a long time I figured he lived with Grandma Duck and Gus until suddenly he didn't and he was with Ludwig, but then I read the skies of farm town.

I enjoy the Farm Town Stories on their own; I don't really ship Gladstone with girls, tho, so the love interest storyline doesn't factor into most of my headcanons.

What did wriggle into my brain, tho, is Olivia Duck. Introduced as a Maternal Aunt who Also has the miraculous Good Luck. The comic posits that she raised Gladstone, until a turning point when he hit a certain age where their Luck began to counteract each other, turning him unlucky around her, at which point she moved far away. In the present she also has. Awkward relationships with her relatives.

Anyway that felt perfect lol. Adding a sister for Daphne to not only balance out the gender ratio of Grandma's kids, but also Olivia's departure giving an opening for a custody transition for whatever reason onto Matilda McDuck and/or Ludwig Von Drake

So now my hc/nearly-oc version of Olivia is like. Daphne's twin sister, both being given the luck of the Triple Distelfink. But while Daphne is more subdued and modest about her fortune, Olivia...isn't Gladstone levels of arrogant, but she's much more pragmatic. And honestly it just feels right that one of Elvira's kids felt stifled on the farm vs in the big city and flew the coop ...

...until she hears word abt her sister's death, leaving behind a young nephew with the same magic luck. And then she's moved, not all the way back to the farm, but to nearby Duckburg, to raise him.

Until their respective lucks go haywire around each other, and for maximum angst potential let's hc that to happen when he's just around 13. And she feels it's best for his own safety that she get as far away from him as possible.

Leaving Grandma with a young traumatized teen with attachment issues, and limited support beyond her daughter-in-law's sister, who has a good friend who, well...

finished mobile suit gundam

finally….it is over. okay so i think this show is like….conceptually good? with a strong start and an insane end. but it kinda suffers from underdeveloping the charas and having looooong stretches where basically Nothing happens. it's a shame tbh. like i can't say it's a Bad bad show bc it has a lot of good concepts and ideas. it's like decent, but also very very flawed. i liked amuro and the white base crew a lot by the end, i wish they had gotten more stuff and more focus eps. i think amuro and kai got the best deal out of the main cast, since they got their own arcs and stuff. char only becomes interesting in the final eps. i do wish they used the zabis more bc they were good villains for this show tho. ALSO LALAH IS INSANE AND I KINDA LIKE HER A LOT? SHE DOESN'T GET MUCH WRITING OR IS MUCH OF A CHARACTER BUT HER CONCEPT IS FUN. it's kind of a shame a HUGE chunk of the show is less about the emotional consequences of war (like it was in certain eps) and more like. War Logistics Simulator 79. that was very lame. also please PLEASE give the charas actual writing, they deserve better than this. this show's main flaw is that it kinda drags a lot and doesn't really focus on its cast tbh. that hurt the experience for me also i wish cameron, sleggar and matilda a very stop appearing in media and die forever. adults suck. i don't think this show's problems are like, a result of tomino, bc his memos do have pretty solid concepts and plots. i think it's more on the writers not really knowing how to go from point a to point b or how to fill the eps lmao. i wish the white base kids got a better show, honestly……and better futures too, oof.
