finding out that there was another fellow australian around made hyejin giddy. sure she should have expected it but it always was a surprise hearing that distinct accent that she had as well. after her little exchange with mattheo, it seemed they both easily became close and set up a time to go apple picking. it wasn't something hyejin thought she'd ever do but there's a first time for everything plus it would surely be fun with company.
making sure to dress for the cooler weather, she eagerly made her way to the apple orchard that they could pick from. the leaves had already begun changing, the different colors making the area pop with the apples peaking though. after tearing her eyes away from the scenery, she spotted her companion easily. briskly walking, the fallen leaves crunched under her feet. she came to a stop near mattheo, a small smile spread across her lips. "you ready to pick some apple? hopefully it will entertain us enough." she spoke the last sentence in english, glad to have someone else she didn't need to use korean with constantly.

i wanna see the slytherin boys and a muggle reader who loves to crochet things for then and gift them crochet stuff ♡♥︎♡
SLYTHERIN GUY'S REACTION TO YOU CROCHETING THEM STUFF | ✧⁺。

Pairing : (Mattheo , Tom , Theodore, Lorenzo, Draco) x reader
Notes : lmao this one is actually kinda cute and very fluffy , tysm for the request and I hope you like it!! Each one is getting a different crochet stuff so yeah :)
Also if you can plz lmk which reaction y'all liked the most or which guy's part you like the most in whatever reaction you read on my blog so I can write in a similar way 🧸🧸
Warnings : none coz this is pure fluff ><
MATTHEO RIDDLE
Bro is constantly annoying you and trying to get your attention while you crochet . He'd be trying all sorts of stuff like making funny faces or litteraly picking you up , but you'd scold him if you loose the thread and he'd look like a kicked puppy :) After you're done you'd hand him a scarf , similar to your house colors so that if he wears it outside it'll blend with the uniform .
He would be all like "i can't wear that out darling" And when you'd ask why he'd say that he's too manly to wear something cutesy like that and that he has an image to maintain . The next day you'd catch him wearing it while he smoked with his friends 🕺🏻
TOM RIDDLE
Mr marvalo has no reaction whatsoever when you hand him the cute crocheted bunny . He'd just nod and put it in his pocket kissing your head . Doesn't utter a single word . He finds it ridiculous - ridiculously cute but he throws the thought as soon as it comes . He'd rather be called a Hufflepuff than admit that he finds something cute coz pfttt?!?
He's a smartass though so he'd make that bunny - a horcrux . It's the first thing you made by yourself and he loves it so dearly that he splits his soul for it , besides who are you kidding no one would suspect a crocheted bunny to be the dark lord's horcrux .
THEODORE NOTT
He has a greatt fashion sense (that's something for being an Italian man y'all ) and he absolutely . loves . when you crochet him stuff . You often make him sweaters and gloves and he proudly wears it , his style adding charm to your stuff .
He also boasts it to his friends . Believe it or not he'd kinda have a fashion show upon everyone's request . He'd have a blank face (his resting bitch face) while he walks a straight line towards the couch filled by his friends , showing off the knitted sweater pretending to be a model as you laugh with mattheo . Also makes you stand up at last for credits offcourse.
LORENZO BERKSHIRE
My guy is in absolute love with you and tries to engage in everything you do so when you gift him a crocheted bouquet , he firstly squeaks like a girl upon recieving it and then tries to make a bouquet for you aswell . Him trying to learn crochet is like a love letter to you .
But in the process of making it , he turns it into a competition 😭😭 when he finshes making it and all your lovey dovey stuff is over he'd joke that his bouquet is better than yours ( it wasn't.) Also hattsoff to him because he bears all the teasing of his friends trying to make it for you . Pure gentlemen istg uggh
DRACO MALFOY
He doesn't like muggle things so he'd go blabbering about why you're doing it on your own when he can just sway a hand and it will be made by itself. ( So much for having a magic wand little boy 😒) Would be grumbling and yapping for HOURS and would finally shut up when you shove his miniature crocheted version in his face .
He be sooo shocked , stuttering and fumbling with his words . Heart eyes for real . Would absolutely love it and he'd keep it with him all the time , he loves you and well his mini self aswell .

Blink and the lines are blurred.
“I think I see Mattheo,” I whisper, pulling Enzo to the nearest wall. I reach my hands up his hair and kiss him, my senses electrified.
He wraps his arms around my waist, pushing me into the wall, leaving no space between us. He’s a contradiction of soft lips and hard muscles, tender touch and and fierce kisses.
He snakes his tongue in my mouth and I suck on it, gripping his hair to pull him close. I am pure want, I ache and —
I am Enzo’s fake girlfriend. I blink and let go of his hair. It takes him a second to catch up and untangle himself, consciously fixing his hair.
“I think he’s gone now,” I say, looking around. If I stopped lying to myself, I could admit I didn’t even see Mattheo at all.
⭐︎⭐︎⭐︎
“Come here,” Enzo says, settling into the couch. My heart thumps along with the party music’s erratic rhythm, matching the anticipation in Enzo’s eyes. “Mattheo hangs out in dark corners like these. He’ll see us soon enough.” I nod as he pulls me onto his lap and I straddle him.
He runs a hand through my hair then cradles the back of my neck to bring my lips to his and I wrap my arms around him. I revel in the familiarity of his kiss as he moves his hand along my legs, drawing out moans and goosebumps from me.
When he brings his mouth to my neck, I hum in approval as he glides his tongue against the vibration it creates. I scan the crowd for Mattheo but my thoughts are scattered when Enzo brings his hand to my ass, pressing me right where he needs me. “Is this okay?” He asks.
I breathe out a soft “yes,” which earns me a grunt from him and I gasp when he starts moving against me. I roll my hips against him, creating friction, needing more.
My head snaps when I hear laughter from a nearby group lost in their own conversation. Gathering the last few threads of my restraint, I lean my forehead against Enzo, catching my breath.
“We should probably leave it here,” I say. “Yeah,” he replies breathlessly.
I stand up and offer a hand to him. “Maybe we could use a walk to clear our head?”
“I’d like that.” Enzo smiles, the heat of the moment replaced with the ease we have around each other.
Hand in hand, we leave the party. From the corner of my eye, I spot Mattheo just entering.
“So this plan didn’t work,” I comment.
“Yeah, something like that,” he says, not quite referring to The Book, but I don’t dare linger on it for too long.
“I’m sorry,” I say, heat creeping up my cheeks. “I got carried away back there.”
“No, if anyone should be sorry, it’s me. I didn’t mean to take advantage.”
“Take advantage? Of me?” I ask incredulously. “Enzo Enzo Enzo,” I recite playfully. “You can’t be both the damsel in distress and the villain scheming against her ex-boyfriend. Which one do you think I am?”
“Okay,” he huffs, rolling his eyes at my dramatics. I may have had a firewhiskey or two. “Definitely not the damsel in distress.”
“Good boy,” I smirk. He stares at my lips for a second too long and then looks away, clearing his throat.
“I just mean,” he starts, expression turning serious. “I know you’re still hurting over Mattheo, what he did sucks and you didn’t deserve it. How are you feeling?”
Salazar, his earnest eyes pierce through my defenses.
“So, it’s my therapy time, huh?” I ask with a small smile that doesn’t quite reach my eyes.
“You know, I honestly thought revenge would feel better,” I sigh. “The more I think about why I’m so angry, I realize it’s because of how good things were and when I lost that, I lost part of myself too. I miss him and I’m so mad at myself for it. Why do I still care? Why does it matter? And I miss who I used to be,” I shake my head, fighting the tears that well up.
“I also think about losing the future I hoped to have with Mattheo, things I dreamed of. And now, I don’t know. I just feel lost,” I trail off, my eyes unfocused.
“I get that,” he says. “You know, I broke up with my girlfriend last year and I was messed up for a while. She’s a halfblood so it was never going to work. We tried though,” he says, recalling bittersweet memories.
“How did you get over it?” I ask. “Any advice?”
“Well, you know what the silver lining is to having your heart crushed and your future hopes dashed?”
I laugh at his summary, “there’s a silver lining?”
He gives me a kind smile, “you get to start over again. Dream new dreams, maybe even fall in love again.”
Enzo’s words hang in the air and for a moment, I dare to hope. Just a drop of courage in the sea of grief. It’s not much, but perhaps it’s enough.
“Yeah?” I muse.
“Yeah.”

Heartbeat | Jack Hughes
- prologue part 2
Author’s note: i hope you like it, i love young thalia and luke:)

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
It had been a few days since the last moving truck graced their driveway, unloading their cherished belongings. Yet, Thalia couldn't shake the feeling of unease, as if something was still missing. The walls echoed with emptiness, and the rooms felt foreign and unfamiliar.
She would wander through the rooms, touching the walls as if seeking a connection, hoping to find solace in the touch. But the house remained silent, unable to offer the warmth and familiarity she craved.
The grand ceilings of the family's penthouse gave way to modest heights, embracing the essence of simplicity. The dazzling sight of New York City's Central Park transformed into the serene view of the suburban landscape. Thalia, never one to consider herself spoiled, couldn't deny the longing for her once expansive closet, now reduced to a mere nook.
In her new room, space became a precious commodity, leaving her with boxes of cherished possessions scattered throughout her bedroom, waiting to be unpacked. The walls echoed with the whispers of memories yet to be made, as she navigated the challenge of finding a place for everything.
But amidst the adjustment, Thalia discovered a hidden grace in the coziness of her new surroundings. The smaller space invited her to curate her belongings with intention, cherishing each item that found its place. The simplicity of her new reality brought a sense of focus, allowing her to appreciate the beauty in the little details.
As she carefully unpacked her treasures, she found solace in the process, discovering that it wasn't the size of the closet that mattered, but the memories and emotions attached to each item.
She slowly began to realise that her father is with her and will forever reside in things that she cherished the most.
Her mother was in Detroit, finding comfort within the elegant confines of the Mariott hotel, it was Mattheo and she who stood as the solitary guardians of their own world. The Mariott children, even when their beloved father lived, often found themselves navigating the loneliness , with only the gentle presence of nannies and butlers to accompany them on their journey. In the absence of bustling laughter and familial warmth, they learned to embrace the tranquility that enveloped their lives, cherishing the quiet moments.
Thalia allowed her thoughts to wander freely, tracing the delicate threads that connected her to her dear old friends and the halls of the school she once called home. Yet, in the depths of her soul, she knew that these cherished memories would soon become distant echoes, fading into the tapestry of time. She was redying towards a new chapter, a boarding school nestled amidst the serene beauty of Switzerland. While her spirit yearned for stability, understanding that this journey was an inevitable tribute to her late father's wishes, she couldn't help but feel a profound sense of disorientation. She had her life planned to her last breath, but she still felt so unbelievably lost.
The symphony of silence momentarily ceased as the sound of ringbell permeated the tranquil expanse of the vacant living room. Theo and Thalia, moved by an instinctive longing, rose from their respective places, their hearts clinging to the fragile hope that their mother would be standing there even though the reality of her absence loomed heavily upon them. They were aware, deep within their souls, that she was bound by the weight of important endeavors, her presence scattered across distant kilometers, leaving them to navigate through loneliness alone.
"Hello" greeted the youngest Hughes brother, his presence a delightful surprise. If the children had known the brothers well, they would have been taken aback, for Luke rarely ventured forth to engage in social encounters. Yet, in the presence of the girl, a sensation stirred within him, an inexplicable longing to engage in conversation. Maybe deep within his subconscious, he already sensed that she would become his steadfast companion, a cherished friend for the many years that lay ahead.
Mattheo's gaze narrowed, a playful glint dancing in his eyes, as he teasingly assumed the role of the protective older brother, his posture subtly mirroring the familiar stance. He relished in the fleeting moment of uncertainty that flickered within Luke's gaze. And yet, despite his wavering confidence, Luke pressed on, undeterred, delivering his rehearsed words with a touch of nervous anticipation. "I was wondering," he began, his voice carrying a hint of hope, ,, if Thalia wanted to go bike around the town and maybe talk some more”
The unexpected question caught the Mariott heir off guard, but swiftly transformed into a bubbling wellspring of excitement. No longer confined to the confines of the couch, Thalia's spirits lifted. Though the busy streets of New York had rarely afforded her the opportunity to pedal freely, her countless summers spent in the Hamptons made Thalia good at bicycling . With a mischievous twinkle in her eye, she reminisced about the races against her brother, their destination set on the local bakery, where the aroma of freshly baked pastries greeted them each morning.
flashback
"Daddy!" the young girl's joyful cry echoed through the air as she raced against her brother, their laughter intertwining with the enchanting feeling of the idyllic summer town. In that precious moment, William’s heart swelled with affection as he tenderly chuckled, basking in the sheer delight radiating from his beloved children. The Mariott family, united in their carefree spirits, reveled in the freedom of the present.
Luke and Thalia left the house, filled with excitement for their bike ride adventure. The sun was shining brightly, casting a warm glow over the town. As they pedaled along, the wind soared through their hair, heightening their sense of freedom and joy.
After a while, they came across a serene meadow, adorned with vibrant wildflowers and a soft carpet of green grass. They couldn't resist the allure of the peaceful spot, so they decided to take a break and soak in the beauty of nature.
Luke, being the young boy that he was, had a surprise up his sleeve. With a mischievous grin, he plucked a handful of dandelions, carefully weaving them together to create a delicate crown. As he approached Thalia, his heart raced with anticipation.
Thalia, oblivious to Luke's plan, watched him with curiosity as he approached her. With a twinkle in his eye, Luke gently placed the dandelion crown on Thalia's head. The vibrant yellow petals contrasted beautifully with her flowing hair, making her look like a queen of the meadow.
Thalia's heart skipped a beat as she realized the significance of the moment. Luke's eyes locked with hers, filled with genuine affection and a desire for their friendship to endure forever, he said, "I want us to be best friends forever."
Touched by Luke's heartfelt words and the beauty of the moment, Thalia felt peaceful. She couldn't have asked for a more perfect proposal of friendship. With a radiant smile, she nodded, accepting Luke's proposal wholeheartedly.
From that day forward, their bond grew even stronger. Through ups and downs, their friendship remained unwavering, a testament to the power of true friendship.
And so, as they rode off into the sunset, their hearts filled with love and gratitude, Luke and Thalia knew that they would always be there for each other, supporting and uplifting one another on their journey through life.

MASTERLIST
Heartbeat | Jack Hughes
- prologue part 3
Author’s note: next chapter will be the last from Summer 2015, and then we are jumping to 15 year old Thalia and 17 year old Jack;)

♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
August, the month of bittersweet feelings that danced in Thalia's mind. It marked the final chapter of summer, before her parents' usual working schedule resumed its course. They always tried to fit as many vacations making it remarkable month, but the thought of returning to the usual schedule always resided in the back of her mind.
The air conditioning hummed softly as the radiant warmth of summer enveloped the living room. The Hughes and Mariott children found solace in the cool oasis, scattered around, their laughter and playful banter filling the air. The summer season had a way of drawing them closer, like a magnetic force pulling them into the embrace of shared experiences and cherished moments.
Quinn and Mattheo sat together, their eyes gleaming with anticipation. Their conversation revolved around their upcoming hockey schedule, a topic that ignited a fiery passion within them.
With each word spoken, their voices grew animated, mirroring the intensity of their emotions. They eagerly discussed the games, practices, and tournaments that lay ahead, their minds already envisioning the thrill of the ice beneath their skates and the roar of the crowd. The prospect of competing against formidable opponents and showcasing their skills filled them with a sense of purpose and determination.
As they delved deeper into their conversation, the brothers shared their strategies and aspirations, their dreams of scoring the winning goal or making a game-changing save. They spoke of the camaraderie forged on the ice, the unspoken bond that exists among teammates who battle side by side, united by a common goal. The anticipation radiated from them, their enthusiasm infectious, as they eagerly awaited the challenges and triumphs that awaited them in the upcoming hockey season.
Luke, Thalia, and Jack gathered around the coffee table, engrossed in a board game. Ever since Luke’s and Thalia’s memorable bike ride together, they had become inseparable, forming a bond that seemed unbreakable. Their shared adventure had forged a friendship that was as strong as steel.
As they played, their competitive spirits ignited, fueling their determination to emerge victorious. Luke and Thalia, now attached at the hip, teamed up against Jack, who couldn't help but voice his complaints. Undeterred by Jack's antics, Luke and Thalia skillfully strategized, their minds working in perfect harmony as they were making the winning moves
With each roll of the dice and every turn of the game pieces, Luke and Thalia seemed to have an uncanny ability to anticipate each other's moves, almost as if they were connected by an invisible thread. Their teamwork was impeccable, their communication seamless, and it was evident that they had found their rhythm as a formidable team.
As the game progressed, Luke and Thalia's confidence soared. They were acing the game, leaving Jack (always the winner) suprised, his athlethe mindset making him antsy.
Jack's whines echoed through the room with each well-executed move made by Luke and Thalia. Luke, visibly annoyed by Jack's complaints, couldn't help but roll his eyes in exasperation. Thalia, had developed a soft spot for Jack. There was something about his playful nature that tugged at her heartstrings, even though she tried to hide her childlike crush.
As the game progressed, Thalia found herself stealing glances at Jack, her cheeks turning a shade of red whenever their eyes met. It was as if a secret connection had formed between them, filled with innocent admiration and the fluttering of butterflies in her stomach.
Mattheo couldn't help but feel a sense of relief as he noticed the color returning to his sister's face. It had been a challenging time for their family, but seeing her smiling brought him a glimmer of hope.
As they chatted, Mattheo couldn't shake the feeling of dread that loomed over him. The unavoidable reality of the upcoming drive to the airport next week weighed heavily on his heart. He knew that saying goodbye to his sister would be incredibly difficult, as they shared a bond that went beyond mere siblinghood.
The thought of being separated from his sister, made Mattheo realize just how much he would miss her. They had always been there for each other, supporting one another through the highs and lows of life. The idea of not having her by his side was both daunting and heartbreaking.
Mattheo cherished the moments they spent together, whether it was engaging in deep conversations or simply sharing laughter over inside jokes. He knew that their bond was special, and the thought of being apart made him appreciate their time together even more.
♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡
The sun began its descent, casting a warm and golden hue over the surroundings, the time for the weekly dinner had arrived. The dining room was adorned with a table set for two families, eagerly awaiting the arrival of Ellen and Jim. Their presence added an extra layer of joy to the already lively atmosphere.
Dimmed lighting of the light made the feeling more homey. The families effortlessly engaged in conversations, sharing anecdotes from their daily lives, discussing current events, and reminiscing about cherished memories. The dining room became a sanctuary of comfort and connection, where the bonds of friendship and family grew stronger with each passing moment.
Amidst the laughter and lively banter, the clinking of glasses echoed throughout the room, as toasts were made to celebrate the joys of life and the blessings of friendship. The atmosphere was one of pure bliss, where time seemed to stand still, allowing everyone to savor the precious moments spent together.
As the evening drew to a close, the room was filled with contentment and gratitude. The dinner had not only nourished their bodies but also their souls, leaving them with a sense of fulfillment and happiness. The memories created during this shared meal would forever be cherished, serving as a reminder of the power of love, laughter, and genuine connections. The clock approached midnight, signaling the end of a wonderful evening, the Hughes family began to get ready for their leave.
However, just as they reached the entrance of the home, their footsteps were halted by the enthusiastic pleas of Thalia, who was determined to extend the joyous atmosphere of the evening. With a sparkle in her eyes and a hopeful smile on her face, she implored Jim and Ellen for a movie night with Jack, Luke and Quinn, as if to prolong the magic of the shared moments they had experienced.
Caught in the irresistible charm of Thalia's request, the parents couldn't help but be swayed by her infectious enthusiasm.
With the couch expanded to accommodate all the children, the stage was set for an epic movie night. The enticing aroma of freshly prepared snacks filled the air. Thalia, ever the princess in her own right, confidently declared her favorite movie choice: "Tangled."
Now, as you can imagine, the boys couldn't help but voice their playful complaints. They tried to persuade Thalia to consider a different movie, perhaps something with more action or adventure. But Thalia stood her ground, unwavering in her decision. After all, she had her heart set on the magical tale of Rapunzel and her incredible journey.
The room grew quiet as the movie began, and the screen came alive with vibrant colors and captivating animation. The boys, despite their initial reservations, found themselves quickly drawn into the story, unable to resist the charm and magic that unfolded before their eyes.
Thalia, on the other hand, sat with a satisfied grin, knowing that her choice had captivated everyone's attention. She giggled with delight as Rapunzel's long golden hair cascaded down the tower, and she sang along to every catchy tune that filled the room. The boys couldn't help but be swept up in her infectious enthusiasm.
Snacks were enjoyed in between moments of suspense and excitement, adding an extra layer of indulgence to the movie night. The boys reached for handfuls of popcorn, their fingers coated in buttery goodness, while Thalia savored her favorite candies, savoring each sweet bite.
As the movie came to its heartwarming conclusion, the children found themselves gradually succumbing to the cozy atmosphere and the gentle lull of the film. One by one, their eyelids grew heavy, and their heads began to nod in sleepy contentment.
Thalia, still basking in the magic of "Tangled," couldn't help but smile as she looked around the room. The boys who had initially protested her movie choice now lay sprawled across the couch, their soft snores harmonizing with the movie's closing credits, she soon joined them too in the peaceful sleep.

namu had wondered if this was what it was like to get his makeup done as an idol, in some sense. he's had it done before, when he was younger, but that was about his extent of experience in getting his makeup done. but, he had always dreamed about it - getting his makeup and hair done for a performance on a music show. it's something that he really wants to experience - no, he knows he'll experience it because he's determined, he'll be an idol. it was just a matter of when! nonetheless, he was feeling rather happy, and rather thankful to be being pampered with getting to be the one who's face makeup is tested on. he was excited to get started.
his smile brightens up some more at the words. "ah, it's no problem," namu says. "i'm thankful i get to be your makeup model!" he added on. "it makes me feel like i'm an idol," he says, before giggling softly because it probably seemed a bit silly. "don't worry about it! it's cool to see everything you have," namu says. "i'm good actually, but thank you!"
make it new
matt wishes for one day someone else to do his makeup, to sit before a performance and get his hair and make up made, already have an outfit picked out for him, but that day hadn’t come yet, he has to wait. for now, matt was focused on his own skills, he’d been practicing make up in his time in korea, tried to save up money for it. he’s watched a million videos on youtube as to how to do your make up or how to style your hair. but he’s always been alone, sitting in his room trying his best to recreate what he sees on others. mattheo has come far in his make up skills, but he also has far to go.
that’s why namu is here today, matt is tired of doing the same tutorial on his face over and over again, as much as he loves make up, he just needs a little change. “so thankful for you coming over namu” he sends the other a smile “i apologize about my table being filled with make up and hair products. would you like anything to drink?”.

hyejin knew at the beginning it had been hard being away from home. her family was there and it sucked she didn't get to see them as much especially since she was a trainee now. sure facetiming was nice but being right beside them was so much better. at least with mattheo she got to hear the australian accent again. she missed it and loved having someone else who she could talk about her favorite things back home that she missed.
this was the first time hyejin had got apple picking. she hadn't done this before but she was excited especially since she had a friend to do this with. "glad to hear that!"' she smiles brightly. "ooo, i'm sure she would easily. i am! my grandparents always loved making different things with apples and i'd be right there to help even though i didn't know what i was doing."

finding out that there was another fellow australian around made hyejin giddy. sure she should have expected it but it always was a surprise hearing that distinct accent that she had as well. after her little exchange with mattheo, it seemed they both easily became close and set up a time to go apple picking. it wasn't something hyejin thought she'd ever do but there's a first time for everything plus it would surely be fun with company. making sure to dress for the cooler weather, she eagerly made her way to the apple orchard that they could pick from. the leaves had already begun changing, the different colors making the area pop with the apples peaking though. after tearing her eyes away from the scenery, she spotted her companion easily. briskly walking, the fallen leaves crunched under her feet. she came to a stop near mattheo, a small smile spread across her lips. "you ready to pick some apple? hopefully it will entertain us enough." she spoke the last sentence in english, glad to have someone else she didn't need to use korean with constantly.
as much as mattheo loved korea, he couldn’t help but feel homesick sometimes. korea was just so different from australia, the food, the culture, the people. mattheo was happy in korea, he knew he’d stay here for a while, but he missed some things. it wasn’t often he got to speak english with someone, even less often he heard that distinct accent, he and his dad facetimed sometimes, but that was the most often he heard the australian accent, until hyejin came around of course.
the two had quickly kicked it off well, and matt was happy to have her in his life, someone to hang out with, someone to talk english with. he was excited for their plans today, he’d gone apple plucking before, but all by himself. he’d made sure to dress for the weather, and had a smile that wouldn’t vanish. “hey hyejin! sure am” he sends a smile. “if i pluck enough apples i might just be able to convince my grandmother to make apple pie, are you a fan of apples?”.
