once maya opens the door, relief courses through josh, look on his face sheepish as he tries to shield his face slightly to keep her from seeing how bad it is. "hi ... i know you probably have a lot of questions right now and i promise i'll answer them all if you just let me in, please?" he looks behind himself when he finishes, paranoia still coursing through him and tries not visibly wince at how much that hurts to do.

[  DANCE  ] :  sender and receiver have been pulled into a slow dance together. as they sway to the music they find themselves leaning in for a kiss just as the song ends and the moment is cut short. 

riley’s getting married- well… riley’s just gotten married, more accurately. farkle likes to be accurate about things. dancing with one of his best friends was a nice part of their night of happiness. he’d asked her to dance with him- really dance with him- right as the slow song came on, it was only natural as they’d been dancing to much of the rest. he’s far better at this kind of dancing than the rest anyway, those cotillion classes come in handy sometimes. maya’s beautiful tonight, though he supposes she in fact always is. always has been. but it’s more than just beauty that attracts him to one of his two loves from childhood. it’s never been just that.

natalie, who he’s brought with him to this wedding tonight, had caught the eye of someone else, some college friend of riley’s new husband, at the open bar, and it’s not as though he cares to stop his date enjoying herself. bad form or not, the red headed young woman is certainly not his girlfriend. and that aside, he’s got his eye firmly on the blonde swaying in his arms. as he finds himself biting his lip, looking in her pretty blue eyes, he also finds himself leaning in for a kiss despite part of him knowing better. he can blame it on the moment and the champagne if he has to, maybe that is the real reason for all he knows, but he thinks she’s leaning in too. and just as he feels her breath on his lips, the music changes and the moment is ruined.

he feels a hand on his shoulder as he pulls away from maya reluctantly, and turns to see ava morgenstern, still very much angling to be mrs. auggie matthews, but also still as upfront as ever.  ❝    riley wants to dance with you. both of you.    ❞  she tells them, farkle shrugging with a sigh that turns quickly into a smile. he can’t begrudge their friend this on her big day.  ❝    tell her we’ll be there in a few.    ❞  he says, the younger girl darting away. his face turns fully back to maya, trying to meet her eyes again.  ❝    do you… want to pretend that didn’t happen, or should we try that again later?    ❞  he’s upfront with her, taking a page from ava’s book for a moment. no harm in trying right?

The question had Ryder snorting out a soft laugh as eyebrows quirked upward. “I dunno. People who are allergic to chocolate or lactose intolerant? A lot of people don’t like chocolate.” It was not his favorite thing in the world but he seemed to fall into the same idea that anyone who hates chocolate was weird. Despite his attempt at defending them from Maya. “I don’t think they’re monsters, though.”

WELCOME TO SHADYSIDE. shadyside, ohio is not a town like any other. things happen here. bad things. from the very first day the fears moved into town from new orleans, the town has not known peace. the year is 2023 and a documentary film crew has made their way into town, looking for an exposé on the town's horrors and the members of the infamous fear family that still live here.

but not everyone is thrilled to have a film crew in town. upending lives, causing traffic in the sleepy little town, and bothering people while they're trying to exist in the day to day. a documentary on the history of fear in shadyside might seem like it's a good idea for a major film studio who's seen what a based on a true story film can achieve, the residents aren't ready to give up their quiet for armchair detectives poking around in their business.

what's a resident to do when their business is about to be blasted all over the front pages of magazines and spread all over social media?

this is a dual timeline verse. in fact, it's a multi-timeline verse. all eras of shadyside will be involved with plot drops. characters will have the ability to come from their own era to 2023. you are more than welcome to apply with a character from any year, as the first planned plot drop has to do with shadyside's time traveling secrets. this verse is a discord/tumblr hybrid group, so you can rp on either platform with ease. you must be mutuals with famefckr/inspotlight to join this verse. no godmodding, etc. basic rules apply.
