YAY THE MOST™ SHOW OF ALL TIME

blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most): MEET REBECCAAAAA. Wow, I love Rebecca Bunch so much, this character lives in my head rent free. THE RELATABILITY! THE RECOVERY JOURNEY! THE ODDBALL HUMOR AND OBSESSION WITH MUSICALS! THE DEVELOPMENT INTO A HAPPY AND SELF-ACCEPTING PERSON! I OWE RACHEL BLOOM MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!

scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): Darryl Whitefeather. From the moment I first saw him, I went, "FRIEND!!!!!". And my face looks like this-> 😊 every time he's on screen.

scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave): Josh Chan?? More like (I'm a) Josh STAN, amirite? Seriously, he's so important to me, and we don't talk enough about the fact that HE CHOSE TO WORK ON HIMSELF FOR LITERALLY NO OTHER REASON THAN HE WANTED TO BE A BETTER HUMAN. He is kind and warm and good at dancing and just trying to Be An Adult, and EVERYONE IGNORES HIM BECAUSE HE'S NOT GREG OR NATHANIEL, IT MAKES ME UPSET.

glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week): MONA!!!! I liked that she was never put forth as "Nathaniel's Bitchy Girlfriend" she was just a sweet and understanding lady. She was probably too good for everyone on this show, actually. She deserved to be happy, I adore her.

poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave): Greg, probably. He's not unpopular by any means, and as "problematic" goes he doesn't even make the top five characters on this show, but he's grumpy and sarcastic and avoids vulnerability way too often, and he's the one I most imagine patting on the head like a cat and saying, "Sssh, don't be sad I will make you some soup" to. If we're talking about Bona Fide Problematic™ characters, then Trent, lmao. I had an excellent time whenever he showed up. (He's also responsible for, "He's so normal; I'm in love" which is just. What a line.)

horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason): Probably Nathaniel. His best moments were when he was Having A Bad Time. (See: "I Go To The Zoo", one of the most iconic songs of all time.)

eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell): Silas, aka Rebecca's dad; he's the worst, honestly even superhell isn't bad enough. (Naomi barely escapes being in this spot, solely for attempting to take care of her daughter when she temporarily goes back home. She went about it in a HORRIBLE way, but it did at least help for a little bit, so I have to be grateful for that because I love Rebecca.)

WIP First Lines

Thank you to @equusgirl-writes for the tag!! Pretty self-explanatory, here are the first lines to various WIPs I have in The Folder™.

it gets dark (aka the “River has OCD and gets therapy” fic)

She says a lot of things she doesn’t mean. She has to, in order to preserve the timeline and, by extension, herself. Lies all the time to keep herself from getting caught doing whatever illicit thing she’s not supposed to be doing at almost any given moment. But she means it when she’s expounding to a crowded dining room, in a voice stuck half between sobbing and screaming, that the man she married never loved her.

Sentiment, Actually (the infamous Giant Adlock Fic)

She refers to herself as “The Woman,” but surely--logically--she can’t be all that different from any other person of that gender. Or from any other person of any gender at all. All of these criminals are the same: at best, mildly intriguing for a time; but ultimately predictable and, at their core, laughably imperfect.

Yet here she is.

soft hearts, electric souls (DW s10 fix-it where Missy is alive because I say so)

He wakes up, meets his former self, and saves the world. Somewhere along the line, he finds Bill. Or, rather, Bill finds him. Something about tears allowing her girlfriend to track her; tears  that she then transferred onto him while crying over his (assumed to be) dead body in the TARDIS. (Stupid he didn’t realize that earlier, really. Maybe he was getting rusty in his old age. Beaten in solution-finding by a human who had barely even had time to be alive.)

Heather, his brain supplies.

She had saved his best friend. The very best of humanity. Made her herself again. She deserved to be called by her real name.

hopeless young emotions (aka the hizzie fic)

Lizzie Saltzman is not a hateful person.

Sometimes even she doubts that statement, but, really, honest, she’s not. Untrusting? Generally frustrated? More than a little bit of a control freak? Yes.

But hateful…No.

Not Quite (Dutch opera hero/villain femslash)

She stares at the bronze nameplate on her new desk.

DR. IRIS MARINUS

Doctor. It had a nice ring to it.

“We’re very happy to have you, Doctor Marinus,” the sweet, freckled blonde intern who must be half her age at most hums, almost saccharinely.

“Happy to be here,” she mutters back. Her mind is not quite in the present, but she at least has enough awareness to remember her manners.

unnamed Peridot/Lapis fic

Peridot found herself in the middle of a flame war. She didn’t know why it was called a “flame war,” as it involved neither armed conflict nor actual flames, but apparently that was what Earth people called fighting online over which pairings in a show you liked.

Concrete Clouds (*grumbles* yes I started a Sad Anime Girl fic, leave me alone-also this character has DID and her in-canon representation of that is uh...not great, so I’m gonna try and fix it.)

The first time she switches, nothing happens.

Well, okay, she shouldn’t say “nothing”. She switches. That’s what happens. To pretend like that in and of itself is “nothing” is almost hilariously ignorant.

~~I have more (like The J/C Dancer AU), but I’m still trying to settle on opening lines for them because that’s the hardest part for me, so...here we are. Just...why are there so many. @universe let me finish something PLEASE.

There’s also another fic that I won’t write the opening line of here because that one may not ever even see the light of day, as it’s probably too problematic even for me, lmao, I was in a really bad place when I started it.

Game of Thrones for the fandom meme :)

blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most): I mean...come on. (Cersei. It's Cersei. She's actually. Everything to me. If this answer ever changes, it is a sign that I am Not Myself and have been replaced by a shapeshifter or alternate universe version of me. God, the amount of time I have dedicated to analyzing and thinking/writing about this fictional character...and I don't regret any of it at all, I love her SO MUCH.)

scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): SANSA!!!!! She is my daughter, and I just want her to be okay. She ended up loved, respected, at home, and as a leader to her people, and I am so happy for her. I wish I could tell her how proud of her I am. :')

scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave): Theon. My son. I love him. People hated him less as time went on, but he never got to the level of popularity he deserved. At best, he was vaguely acknowledged by the fandom or shipped with Sansa, but he should be widely celebrated for his complexity the way Jaime is, and his character arc is one of my favorites in all of fiction.

glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week): NOBODY TALKS ABOUT MY GIRL MELISANDRE AT ALL. I mean...people don't really...like her, exactly, but compared to the levels of viciously gratuitous hate that other characters (*cough cough CerseiCatelynSansa*) get, she is relatively ignored. But whenever we get glimpses into her internal world or shred of backstory, I get FREE SEROTONIN.

poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave): I have no idea why, but the first character I thought of was Jaime. 😂😂 It's probably because he's a Mess™. (And is also-despite popular interpretation of him trying to suggest otherwise-not a good person yes I will die on this hill.)

horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason): Idk, I feel like these characters have been through enough. I'll say Stannis, but only because I think I could make a lot of funny memes out of it. (Or the High Sparrow. For the same reason, lmao.)

eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell): Ramsay Bolton. Although I'd much rather just blink him out of existence entirely.

how about "grief" for the fic words

Ah, yes. The common thread in...everything I write. He’s a few lines from a Good Omens thing.

Unrequited love was its own kind of grief, one where you never really stop mourning, because the person’s not gone.  And every day is just one constant reminder that they’ll never want you, that you’ll never be good enough for them. There’s no twelve step program, no handbook of how to navigate five universal stages. Perhaps it’s not the death of a person, but something more abstract. The death of possibility, of satisfying closure. Of hope.

Yes, this is much more than one sentence, but there needs to be CONTEXT so sssshhhhh

This is new for him-writing music about people. Or more specifically, a person. But her death is so uneventful and subdued that it hardly seems right to merely let it pass without any further acknowledgement. She deserves some sort of distinction and, no doubt, would have rather “gone down in a blaze of glory,” as they say. At least, anyone remotely like him would have.

So he plays sad music. Not that anything he normally played was anything verging on “happy,” but this has a different kind of negativity associated with it, one that he personally understands. It worries Mrs. Hudson and John, he knows, but neither of them ever says anything.

Much better that way for everyone involved.

LMAO I’m a predictable human, so this appears in two separate WIPs.

…Was that even an appropriate word to use in this context? ‘Nemesis’ seemed so cartoonish and fantastical, when the threat said friend-enemy posed was indeed very, very real.

Is this a Doctor/Master fic based on Series 12 yes it is.

And also:

All she had to do was figure out how to escape one measly enemy without breaking her wrist. Stupid. Pathetic. Inadequate. Embarrassing. Just like always.

Because I like putting River Song through the ringer. For self-projection reasons.
