Hi! I wasn’t here for the Mclaren era, so. Would you be able to tell us how Daniel was acting like he deserved everything happening to him at that time? And how is it different from now? Love your blog, it’s one of the few I consume to stay sane from Twitter.

oh girl where do i even begin 😭 in general i feel like there was just this sense of like......rolling over and dying? he would do literally anything they asked of him, no matter how much it might ruin his own race. he rarely, if ever, fought for himself. it just kind of felt like because he was working so hard to try and figure it out and because he COULDN'T figure it out no matter what he did, he was putting a lottttt of the pressure on himself and viewing it more as a him problem for not being able to adapt rather than a team problem for giving him a shit ass car to begin with.

and how is it different from now? oh my god it's SO different from now!! literally night and day different!! now the spark is back! sure he'll still hold his hands up and take responsibility when he feels he needs to, but just as often he'll stand up for himself and not take their shit! it feels more like a collaboration between driver and team, it's not just him taking the weight of the world on his shoulders as his problem to fix yk????
