I think, like any real life ailment, it depends on the day:

On one hand, of course she loves the power, the magical convenience, the inherent ego she gets by becoming a literal god among a civilization of people who hated her. She is by all definitions the most powerful critter in the universe. Who wouldn’t be hyped about that? As long as you can handle a body-sharing roommate as annoying as Cyn.

But on the other hand… she’s cursed with a never ending hunger for her own kind’s body and blood, can’t go out in the sunlight again, and is either a full on hologram or a giant eldrich centipede… or both. That coupled with the fact that she’s not outwardly liked by anyone other than N, her family honestly sucks, and housing trauma far beyond any other drone’s imagination… Safe to say that’s not exactly good for her mental wellbeing. Can’t “idgaf” emo yourself out of that sadly

TLDR; Some days she’d go “ah hell yeah life is awesome” and other days she’d hate everything. So, yeah. Definitely depends on the day.

I loove ur art it is beautiful, and I love ur dragon AU and was wondering if I could get some info on Cyn in it? She’s my favorite lil cylly and I’m deathly curious

Ahh, thank you!! And sure, I love yapping about my AU designs (and stuff in general, LOL).

So, Cyn in the Dragon!AU is a hybrid made from Tessa's & a dragon donor one's DNA, making her the first successful hybrid between dragons and humans. She grew up essentially as a "replacement" for Tessa in the Elliott family, being treated like a doll and forced to take on the identity of "Tessa Elliott" despite wanting to be her own person so desperately. During the night of the Gala event (roughly 20 years later) this desperation has Cyn snap, having her massacre the entire ball room full of people as well as her "parents", seeing no other way out. After this she escapes the premises, not letting N or V (or the authorities) catch her and essentially living on the run. She's only acompanied by J, who was assigned to her as a sort of... "caretaker" and who had been in a relationship with Tessa before (Tessa died of a terminal tissue disease when she & J were both in their 20s).

Cyn in this AU is infected with a dormant parasite that was actually studied by humans. This parasite was called "The Absolute", as it is incredibly adaptive and fatal, essentially capable of wiping out entire planets flora and fauna by sneaking into hosts, adapting to their immune system so it wont get caught and then mutating it's hosts body until they turn into mindless zombies. Hosts are still aware, but paralyzed, and the Solver takes over to control their body - bringing it to a populated area (if it wasn't in one already) and infecting other individuals until it conquered the planet. A host dies after the Solver leaves, which leads to mass specicide on any given planet. But the Solver could never quite touch Copper-9, as the dragons (the native species) had a way too complex immune system to get infected. Their IS would always eradicate the Solver before it could adapt, essentially tricking the parasite over and over. Humans however, can be infected, though, and so with Cyn's immune system being a mix of a humans and a dragons the Solver can infect her without being killed off, but it took way longer to show symptoms for her.

When Cyn started to show symptoms a few months after escaping from the Gala massacre she slowly started to slip mentally, getting worse and worse, fighting the infection but ultimately losing, which then mutated her body into the more dragon like form you can see in the beginning of the post - where she'd been a hybrid before, she now looks like a full-blooded dragon and being a co-pilot in her own body while the Solver aims to use her to kill off the humans and dragons on Copper-9 as it cannot do so from within.

I love how you had Uzi collect the bodies of the DD from cabin fever, especially because it sparks a ton of ideas of them having some "life" left inside them. (Moving slightly when nobody's looking, sitting up or shifting overnight, flexing when probed, etc.)

You've done a fantastic job addressing the Eldritch theme of MD in general while also keeping it from becoming too grim (centipede uzi is great).

To actually ask a question, what part of the Solver do you find the most appealing?

THANK YOU! For the Solver, I like how adaptable it is— it assimilates and learns from each host and is always starving for more. I like to think it started as humans messing around with something like designing a quantum information storage AI to see if it was possible to implement in their robots- didn't take much for it to learn and evolve beyond human understanding. Like a virus there were many mutations as it spread from host to host before perfecting it's entanglement in its hosts systems

All these infected Drones consciousnesses exist in the quantum state of The Solver, the parasitic fleshy growths on their cores anchoring them to those bodies (hence how they can come back from death/fatal errors or come back from core destruction(J) by the main host) like think soul gems from PMMM

I also like to think a Solver's hivemind manifestation is linked heavily to the main host's preferences, so while it looked like Elliott Manor with Cyn, when Uzi took over it shifted to look like the Outpost #3 Bunker; it's where those unanchored Solver-infected drone consciousness resides because for them to truly die it would be a loss of knowledge and it goes against the Solver's main goal of total assimilation.

Also why I think Uzi working with Cyn to bring back the other DDs is a fun idea :D

you said you would like to draw more Doll May I request that you draw Doll and maybe Tessa as a disassembly drone.this is one for you to be creative on so go wild. My idea for their disassembly drone names are serial designation D and Serial designation T.anyway I hope you have fun with this third request and I hope you have a great day. Solver and disassembly drones may be bigger/stronger than regular worker drones but theres one thing worker drones can handle better.

Virus infections.

A worker drone can come down with viruses wich are a lot like computer viruses. They are going to feel unwell but they are still able to function as normal. They may be grouchy and or a bit stiff in their movements but ultimately they can walk the symptoms off until it’s rid of

Solver/disassembly drones however aren’t nearly as lucky. The fleshy organic tissues growing inside of them also becomes infected. This causes those tissues to become inflamed, red, irritated, and sore. They are hit with full body constant aches, migraines, upset stomachs, blurry vision from the inflammation behind their visors, loss of appetite, rapid temperature jumps/changes, and malaise.

Due to the tissue inflation solver/disassembly drones have a difficult painful time moving and often times just lay there, aching. Of course they can also become incredibly irritable from the discomfort and often time weakly swat or nip, too weak and unwell to do much else
