I WATCHED NIMONA!!! As someone who read the original nimona webcomic when it was updating (roughly a decade ago??) and was rly impacted by it, I was so excited to watch the film and... they did a really good job!!! it was so beautiful i cried omg... it's def worth a watch!! (long ramble under the cut BWAHA spoiler warning)

...and it was rly completely diff from the original comic but im not complaining?? like its a v loose movie adaptation and the plot/setup was v diff but still v well done... like the comic and movie r both good in their own right... & i laughed and cried a lot... i was surprised at the extent of some of the changes but the emotional parts hit hard(my eyes r swollen from crying) and it was written v well... and visually it's just gorgeous... my jaw kept dropping at the beautiful lighting, and they brought the futuristic medieval setting to life so well i could cry😭

it's funny bc one of the main things i was afraid of was them changing nimona's backstory from the comic, bc even after a decade that's one of the things that stuck w me the most... i love nimona as a chara sm... I was so worried abt them changing it and... they ended up changing it completely... but it was actually really good?! like i cried so hard, it was well done... so I'm glad I didn't have to worry after all jdjfjd🥺 like they Did change it but both ver r good in their own right...

I understand that they had to rewrite the plot completely to fit within the time length of a single movie while still being a contained story, as is always the case w movie adaptations of books, graphic novels, etc which r much longer... Series have a chance to follow the source more closely but that just isnt the case w movies... and as far as movie adaptations go they did an amazing job!! I can rly appreciate both the comic and the movie as their own thing... and I rly liked some parts that were added to the movie, like ballister(blackheart)'s backstory in the beginning, and the addition of gloreth (and her relationship w nimona) was surprisingly compelling... And I really really love that they made Ballister and Goldenloin canon POC 😭😭😭 like that made me so happy!!!❤️‍🔥 When i first saw the casting of riz ahmed and eugene lee i was sooo happy, i was like YAYY IDC IF THEY LOOK WHITE IM GONNA HC THEM AS POC🥰 but the fact that i dont even have to hc bc its canon now... 🥹 SOUTH ASIAN/EAST ASIAN KINGS🛐... and they also didn't hold back with showing them openly as a gay couple... Even tho their dynamic changed a lot from the comic I rly appreciate that...

And there were things that I did miss from the webcomic, like the original setup with goldenloin and blackheart as staged nemesis, them being exes (and some time having passed since their graduation, so they're older, unlike in the movie when it just happened), etc. but the whole setup and plot and everything I completely understand why they had to change it to make it work/fit as a movie, so I get it... so not complaining there tbh bc they did what they had to do... But tbh... TBH... my one(1) complaint(/lh) w the movie... IS I REALLY MISS GOLDENLOIN'S BEAUTIFUL LONG HAIR😭😭😭💔 He would've looked so pretty with long golden locks in the movie artstyle, esp w the gorgeous lighting... glowing gold and flowing in the wind... And I think it would've fit perfectly well with the movie ver of his chara/lore too?? like the new lore of him being a descendant of Gloreth... I could imagine him growing out his hair and bleaching it blonde to fit the image/pressure of being a descendant of gloreth, and to look more flashy and heroic to the public (They did tone down his vanity a lot but im sure he still retains some of it... like he still has that pretty popular celebrity image)... And him having long hair doesnt contradict with him being asian too or the modern setting... modern asian men can and do have pretty long hair😭 Like he couldve still been Asian, just w long blonde hair... 1. Juleka is Mari's bestest friend, and yeah, they got to know each other because Mari and Luka dated in the past - let's say it was like 5 years ago that they met. They're complete opposites - Mari is very emotional and pretty naive, cries easily, is impulsive and not very rational ig, while Juleka is pretty down-to-earth, sceptical, cautious, and reliable. She can call out Mari's BS, but she also supports her and is always there for her when she's in need. They complete each other as friends because Juleka, although she seems tough, is actually a sensitive person herself, and she actually likes Marinette's affectionate side. And for the second part of the question: Juleka lives with Rose somewhere in Sweden, they're married, and have a dog named Daisy! Luka lives by himself, so does Adrien, and Plagg (or actually - Peter). Ivan lives with Mylene, his wife, and they have a little daughter. Marinette lives with her mom in Stockholm.

2. She does occasionally! But she's not that much into it. She actually started smoking some because of Adrien, she just felt like "matching" his vibe - it's something that people with codependency issues tend to do. In Mari's case it was like:

Adrien: *lights up a cigarette after sex, as he usually does*

Mari: *grabs his pack of cigarettes and takes one herself*

Adrien: I've never seen you smoking before.

Mari: *smiles widely as she lights up her cigarette* It's my first one.

Adrien: I thought you hated the smell of it.

Mari: *looks him in the eyes, still smiling* I don't hate it anymore.

3. (I fucking love this question okay) Adrien usually smells like cigarettes (obvious XD), and cologne - idk how to explain the smell, but it's that smell of perfume that guys wear that makes you all fuzzy inside, it's intense but not because he uses too much of it. Marinette smells like Pink Chiffon perfume from Bath & Body Works (it was my fave perfume when I was a teen and I kinda associate that smell with her).

4. They were fighting, as usual, she said to him that she hated him because he made her fall in love with him, and that's cruel, blah blah, and he straight up told her "We were just fucking, okay? I never promised you anything. I never said to you that I loved you, and I never said that I will one day. I don't do 'love', I've said that already. You made it all up in your head. There's no 'us', we won't get married and build a fucking house together, get over it. It's not gonna happen." OR something along those lines, you get the idea. And he was never THAT brutal with her before, sure he was saying stuff like "haha I don't do love, we can have fun together but that's all", but that never stopped her from hoping and clinging to him. That fight ended up with her having a panic attack and him slamming the door as he left, like always, she got drunk af and sent a lot of messages to Adrien at like 3 AM (he never responded), then she wrote to Juleka sth like "I'm tired, Jules", and Juleka knew what was going on immediately. She came to the hotel room where Marinette was staying for a couple of days, and helped her get through the night. Then in the morning they had a talkTM, Juleka advised Mari to go back home to her mom, and stay there for a couple of days, cancel a concert or two, and just think it through. And she did. She sent one last message to Adrien after two weeks or sth that said: "I don't do love anymore, either. Goodbye, Adrien." And that was it.

5. A little more than a year. Let's say they met in June 2018, and they broke up in September 2019. They got back together a couple months later, in spring 2020 - late April?

Marinette - she's very close with her mother, even though they used to fight a lot when she was a child/teenager; she once died her hair red and she really liked it, but then decided that her natural colour - dark brown/black - is better; she's got some scars on her thighs and forearms from self-harm; she had an imaginary friend in childhood, her mom thought she was seeing ghosts but she actually just made that friend up; peaches are her favourite fruits; she loves Studio Ghibli movies, especially Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle (she even used to make a cosplay of Sophie); she can play five instruments total: the guitar, the piano, the violin, the cello, and the flute (yeah, crazy, I know).

Oh! Yeah, I forgot to tell you all about it! 🛐 Here with a whole lot to say haha.

Oh lordy, prom was so much fun! 5 people called me pretty in person and 2 others said I was gorgeous online aaaaa <3

So that makes 8- no 9 since Mod complimented me too!

Okay, I got there early, like, 10 minutes early, and some of my classmates were there, they called me pretty, and one of the was like "Oh shoot, they're wearing a dress" (since I'm the tough tomboy type aha) nobody expected me to wear a dress, since I said I was gonna get a suit, (I couldn't since it sold out when I got money </3) we all had these masks and it was cool, about 5 minutes in my friends arrived, we joked around n junk, eventually we sat down in a little tent they set up, we had food n junk, I was too scared to get food alone, I don't know why, I just was haha. We all got little cups that said "Grad 2021" on them, and they put little candies and stuff on the inside, it was cool! Oh! I sat down on a cool red couch and I was like, "I wish I had a cape" cuz I felt so cool in that red chair, I felt powerful haha. Also my friend came up to me and was like "you kin Kokichi right?" ( And lemme say this now, we're besties) and I was like "Yeah man" and they went "alright, I kin Miu" I saw that coming, since they're like, the re-incarnation of Miu but they're waaaaaaaay prettier than Miu (I hope to God they never find this haha) (no offence Miu but I'm right) They're so cool, and I love being around them, I don't have feelings or anything but they give me unconditional support and they're really funny! They looked so pretty too! They curled their hair and it was so pretty! And on my Tumblr dash, it is pretty much illegal for a Kokichi kinnie and Miu kinnie to get along, let alone be best friends haha. Also they played the song I wanted, everyone liked it haha, I got home at around 9 and I was sweating alot, since prom was outside in a field type thingy, it was hot outside, also I grabbed a bunch of candy before I left and stuffed it all in my cup, and left, I gave some to my younger sister too! Oh! When I got home, my sister was trying to lure 2 of my neighbor's kittens from under our shed, they were so cute! One was mean and the other was nice and calm, me (kinning Gundham Tanaka) I picked up the mean one, knowing full well that it was mean and it liked me, and me only haha.

Well, that's pretty much it! Also i'm working on birthday art for you and if ya manage to find my account, I'll be pretty surprised ngl, also I'm only gonna post it tommorow so haha.
