I dislike the fact that no emotional weight on megumi's side was given to nobara's death. Like she's one of his first friends he ever lets down his walls with, the first person he bonds over because of their mutual friend's "death" and they both quietly grieve together over him, he constantly worries about her safety first whenever they're in danger and she's his first priority whenever fighting, he's one of the people that got a chair in her life, yet we get ... Nothing? We just assume he had a reaction off-screen and then it's just brushed off? I know he had his sister to worry about, but i would've really liked if we got any sort of comment about her from him.

like the title says, here are some headcannons of mine for the jjk characters and what dates I think they’d take you on :)

if you managed to win gojos heart, i think deep down he’d be a very traditional guy

first date would probably be a really fancy and expensive restaurant you’d never heard of and pay ofc

such a gentleman, holding doors for you, pulls your chair out for you

he tries to impress you on the first date so he isn’t as silly as he usually is

probably still eats some food off your plate and feels bad so he gives you some of his food

takes you back to his place after

arcade dates or amusement park

he’s really good at arcade games but whenever you’re watching him he gets nervous and messes up

he pays for all your game tokens and snacks

whenever you play 2 player games he lets you win most of the time, unless you’re talking yourself up a little too much then he’ll obliterate you

what makes it extra annoying is he doesn’t even acknowledge how he completely left you in the dust

he is so insanely good at crane games so you leave the arcade with a hand full of plushies

he’s really good at guitar hero and it’s his favorite, sometimes he goes to the arcade alone just to play it

cooking class except you’re really bad at cooking

it’s a fun experience though

he feels really bad about how terrible your meal came out so he forces himself to eat all of it anyway despite you reassuring him it’s ok and he doesn’t have to

he also feels too bad to correct you incase it hurts your feelings so he just watches you use the wrong ingredients and measurements

he is surprisingly good at cooking and after you tell him how you’re still hungry after the failed cooking class he brings you to his place and cooks you a meal

the night ends with a candle lit home cooked meal

he would take you on a museum date, just because he wants to hear how you interpret certain pieces

not that he would like or dislike you anymore by your answer, just because he wants a second opinion on what he already thinks

he is really good at mini golf and he may or may not have suggested it so he could show off

aside from the fact that i think megumi would look a bit like jungwon if he were real, they have very similar attitudes. you can’t tell me he wouldn’t punch someone if they got irritating. also megumi beating up all those bullies in middle school, that’s jungwon behavior. he didn’t beat up a bully but he showed them their place! they’ve both got strong moral compasses and are very mature for their age (due to events early on in life, my poor boys.)

(sorry, love u hee.) i don’t really see heeseung as someone happy-go-lucky like gojo, but i think their confidence is basically the same. the same way gojo knows who he is and acts the part, heeseung is the same. he knows who he is and he’s definitely going to let you know. it’s honestly an admirable trait of theirs for me. also, hee would probably say some shit like “nah, i’d win.”

are you kidding me. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. they are the same damn person i don’t care. we all know jay is irritable (jokingly, i think) but he’s also extremely patient, just like nanami. i feel like nanami’s technique also matches with jay. he’s a smart man, of course he’d have a technique involving ratios and math and all that smart shit. they both carry themselves w confidence. they also radiate big dick energy…

it’s just vibes with these two. would jake wear a shiesty to fight cursed spirits? yes, yes he would! but back to the vibes, everytime i see ino i have california love play in my head. with jake, that matches him. jake is such a california boy along with ino. no i don’t care that jake’s from australia. if i say he’s from los angeles, he is from los angeles. i think the main thing here is that both jake and ino are sweethearts but if they wanted me to get on my knees and beg for them, i would.

in the wise words of ash, “few words but a big dick.” both are very quiet and always seem to be in their own world. also, you can’t tell me sunghoon wouldn’t be like “salmon” just to communicate. they’re kinda the “underrated” people of the friend group, the true introverts. i love them both so much though they’re so cute.

“oh rica, you can’t just compare everyone else to a man and then go and compare sunoo to a female character.” YES THE FUCK I CAN. the sassy man apocalypse is real and sunoo is the leader of them all. most definitely acts like nobara. he does NOT put up with anyone’s shit, much less the shit of a man. i think he’s also a little insane just like nobara and we love that about him!!! he loves cute things like pastries and cafes the same way nobara does. like that’s twin.

THE MOST ADORABLE BOYS. i think their determination is similar, with yuji and riki doing anything they can to help others, ignoring how they’re feeling. they’re so selfless yet they still carry a certain joy with them. that is, until people come and ruin it (engenes r sukuna with the way they fucked riki over.) and just take away that happiness. they both deserve the world, my best boys <3

“What the hell is your lazy ass doing here? Aren’t you supposed to die on the battlefield like everyone else?”

Your sly grin paired with the sheer amount of crimson that covers your frame makes Shoko’s blood freeze in her veins in an instant.

“Why didn’t you come earlier, idiot? Can’t you see that you’re about to die?”

You lean against the mirror of the abandoned public toilet you and Shoko are in, watching in silence as she puts out her cigarette in the marble of the expensive looking sink behind you.

What a hell of a day. No, what a hell of a life. You came here with no real plan, just following after Satoru to get him going. Well, you definitely didn’t expect your boyfriend to get sealed in front of your very own eyes. Just like you didn’t expect to find the corpses of Kento Nanami and your student Nobara Kugisaki, laying in pieces on the cold ground of this cursed train station. Fuck, not even you were enough to protect them, not even the infamous girlfriend of Satoru Gojo was enough to stop this fucking madness.

“You look like shit”, Shoko comments dryly, her eyes fixed on the multiple wounds that special grade curse inflicted on you in his beach sphere.

It should scare her, the fact that she can’t put a finger on a single night this month. “Hey, don’t you dare to cry. Or I…”

The big lump forming in your throat stops you from speaking any further. God, how much you hate the concept of crying, how useless shedding some tears is. But at this moment, with the dark circles underneath your best friend’s eyes in front of your sight, with the singing fact that you might not be able to ever see your boyfriend again, you begin to crumble.

“Fuck, you can’t believe how glad I am you’re here, Shoko.”

There you sit, staring into each other’s glossy eyes while your hand grabs hers roughly.

“How are you feeling?”, you breathe out.

“I feel like shit, (y/n). I feel like all I do is sitting in the dark while everyone around me dies. I feel so fucking lonely and useless”, she blurts out, her head sinking into your lap with her hands holding onto your uniform for dear life.

The girl who always looked so cool, the girl with enough sass for whole Jujutsu High. Even though you were constantly able to tell because of the numbness in her orbs, you never thought that she feels this bad. Your best friend, the person you spent most of the time with aside from Satoru.

Satoru, Shoko…You feel like dying from the inside, tears now running down your very own cheeks like a waterfall.

“I’m sorry I wasn’t able to save them. Not Kento, not Nobara, not Suguru. Fuck, I wasn’t even able to protect my own boyfriend…I-I…I wasn’t even able to say goodbye”, you cry out.

“B-but…I have you, right? After all, you’re my bestie for life…”

Her bloody eyes dart towards you, a weak smile forming itself on her lips.

“Don’t you dare to cry about that white-haired idiot. Do you really think he lets himself get sealed and just stays in there? He’s just as annoying as you are, (y/n).”

You huff while shaking your head, a little giggle escaping your lips.

“And yes, you have me. I’ll always have your back.”

“And I’ve got yours”, you reply in an instant.

“You’ll never be alone, Shoko. I’d rather crawl back to you like the biggest idiot than leaving you alone in this hell. It’s somehow better with two, isn’t it?”

Shoko lifts herself off your lap, wiping her tears away in the most unlady-like manner you’ve ever seen. All these years, she always felt alone in a room full of people, always out of place even though being told over and over just how important she is. But you…you see so much more in her than just a useful tool. No, you look at her as a friend, you look at her with true curiosity in your eyes, like you care about her well-being.

You’re standing by her side no matter what.

“I hate to admit it, but somehow you right I guess.”

Can, I ask, why do you think Yuuji is one of the character that is so underated in JJK? He is the mc, but many people (in fandom) treat him like a side character? At first, I don't think so, but I love many shounen, and somehow Yuuji is one of the mc that is underated in their own story....

I wouldn't say you're wrong, Anon! In fact, I would say he is an underrated character. Yes, fairly popular, but when it comes to how the fandom treats him compared to characters like Gojo, Yuji is Underrated.

I feel exactly how you feel about Yuji. To me, he is the best JJK character. Oh, yeah, I'm being bias, whatever, but it's how I feel.

My guess as to why the fandom treats him like a side character because Yuji isn't like how most older gen MCs are written, let alone the others of the cast.

Let's be real, when the mid-late 2010s rolled around, how fandoms started to treat the new age MCs is opposite of their treatment of other MCs. It's because they're a different formula and honestly, I feel like folks who bash on Yuji and others like Tanjiro and Izuku, just don't want to try something different.

They're used to the MCs who speedruns their training and powerups and suffer little to no drawbacks, "trauma, what trauma" and want to be the best because they got an ego and pride they don't want hurt.

Today's MCs? Pain, not afraid to show a range of emotions, training? Oh, they get the hang of it but still a lot to learn and watch out! They have the scars to prove that they almost lost an arm!

Now focusing on Yuji, as I said he's not like other JJK characters.

He's not overpowered, but he's not weak either. He's a bit of a goof and he's says he's an idiot, but he actually isn't all dumb he makes himself out to be. He's not flashy, but he has amazing moments where he gets to show off.

He has a goal to get strong, not being he wants to be the top or anything. He just wants to help people.

He has a sad backstory, but it's only until later we realize how messed up it is and even still we don't have his reaction to realizing those messed up bits. Yuji was raised by his grandfather and he states he is a loner. But unlike how we see with most characters, Yuji is relatively fine with that. He brushes off knowing about his parents, unlike most MCs who would literally beg for answers. He's a loner, but he's not a loser. Note how people around him in his hometown treats him. They gave him a nickname to reflect his impressive physical prowess that amazes them and yet, he doesn't care for the popularity.

Yuji has this balance to him where he's both spontaneous but also pretty chill. A lot of the cast outshines Yuji because they are more showy than Yuji, even calm characters.

Unlike Gojo and even Yuta, Yuji is literally what you call the audience surrogate. Through him, we learn about the Jujutsu world while experiencing (growth).

From the start of their stories (referring to JJK 0 and Gojo's Past Arc), both Gojo and Yuta are established as powerful sorcerers from the start. Yuta may have had inexperienced but he was still recognized as a powerful kid. Both are born lucky with having such powers. The most Yuta and Gojo really develop and change is their personalities and attitudes towards certain ideas. That's it. They don't even have to do anything and immediately their auras show who they are.

In contrast to Yuji, how is he recognized?

As just Sukuna's vessel. Most of the time, he is literally called that. When he's recognized by his strength and abilities it's when he actively has to fight. Then it's like "oh, so he does have capabilities". Yuji actually has to show he can be just as capable as the others because when people first look at him it's "Sukuna's vessel" or back in Sendai it's "Tiger of West Middle".

It's not "Yuji".

Hell, he'll even be compared to Maki. It's not "Maki's like Yuji". No, it's "Yuji is like Maki". Megumi is the first character to do this. Maki is unique enough that if someone, in this case Yuji, displays a similarity to her, she is the template.

However, for Yuji, while he's unique it's almost like it's not enough to be acknowledged until he has to show them. Like, he has to prove something when he actually doesn't care to do that. Yuji doesn't care to get stronger than the next person, especially at this point. If anything, he seems to be the only one from the very start recognize that none of this is a test of strength when people are dying. Note how he acts during a fight. Every major to majorly minor character has displayed some sort of enjoyment out of a fight or fights to show they're not weak.

Not a single time has Yuji ever even smiled. Look back at all the fights and you will see that he hasn't done such a thing. He fights not because it's a game. He fights because he has to and only that.

And it's not like it gets better for him because he later identifies himself as "a cog". It's like Yuji never really had his own identity.

He's the odd one out.

It's how I think some of the fandom sees him. Without an identity, without recognizable traits. Hell, go on any post that praises Yuji and Yuji alone and there's gonna be a hater to bring up another character.

To some, I feel like Yuji only exists to them to hate on. Only a tool to bring in their praising of other characters to put him down as if that's all he's worthy of. It's a damn shame, too, that people actually feel the need to bring down a character to build their faves. Oh, feel like your fave can't stand on their own and show their greatness?
