I... love Minthara *alot* but also, this is my first run siding with the goblins and jsut seeing all thoae poor tieflings that were civilians and the dialogue was painful

THEN THE PARTY and time with Minthara was wow beautiful but her fear? And as the dark urge having the option to make her fears come true. The crunch was ouch.

I reloaded after trying all the options, mostly beccause it got dark quuuick but also because both Shadowheart and Astarion said *they have standards* and rejected the Tav xd I want them to all be friends by the end of it lol

Like im missing Karlach and Wyll and Halsin this playthrough, and Zevlor is angrey at me but atleast ill have a party of three elfs just doing the funny meditating pose xd. (My tav is a drow this playthrough heh)

Minthara is worth it, i just have to take it slow and make all the companions worse rofl

A patron of warlocks who stumbles across the party, in hopes of making Tav/Durge/whichever Origin character is leading the party a member of her bundle of warlocks. Then she takes one look at Wyll and how Mizora has affected him and goes "oh absolutely not."

And from then on decides that her new mission is "quit your contract. join my emo band."

This is Mercy Melody Suerine. But her friends call her Melody, or Mel <3

(She also has a more human-like form but all my drawings of that form have clothes that are a bit too modern hahaha-)

She finds it sweet that he's good with kids and that he always seems to see the best in people. When she learns he's an excellent dancer, she tries to suppress a delighted gasp. Music and dance is her thing. "Does what it says on the tin" type of thing. A few of her other warlocks multi-class as bards.

Would she like it if Wyll let her be his patron instead? Of course. But she's a patron for a good bundle of warlocks already. Wyll's arc is about how he defines himself, without being a part of a pact, so she wouldn't want to diminish that character growth. But should he ever decide to ask for aid…

W: It will be a bit different, going from a Fiend patron to an Archfey patron. Anything I should start learning? M: …OH, YOU THINK I'M AN ARCHFEY? Oh, oh my goodness, Wyll, I'm so flattered! W: You...aren't? I thought, uh, with all the colours I guess- M: Ah, of course, I see, heh. No, heheee, actually. I'm an Undead! W: W: OH! M: That alright, Wyll? W: Well, I have…gotten on better terms with undead during this adventure.

And like, I'm not saying having a better patron would fix things for Wyll. But he deserves more people in his life who unconditionally have his back.

Full Story Summary: Tav is a High Elf, Life Cleric of Corellon Larethian, from Baldur’s Gate, who was kidnapped by a mindflayer ship. Now she must save herself along with the other infected she meets along the way, one of which she feels an inexplicable tie to. What does Corellon have planned for her? What is the connection she feels with Astarion mean? Does he too feel this bond? Will she be able to save them all?

Chapter Summary: Tav awakes upon a ravaged beach and finds her way towards a handsome elf.

A/N: This is my retelling/head canon of how my original play through went with my Tav, Tav. Tav is a High Elf, Life Cleric of Corellon Larethian. Her backstory will remain a bit of a mystery for plot reasons but will eventually be revealed. She romanced Astarion. For posting schedule, I’m just going to try and post when chapters are ready. I already have the first two chapters done, so I will post them about a week apart. This is the first fan fiction I’ve ever written, so please be kind. The Pale Elf

The elf was the most beautiful man Tav had ever seen. Granted, she had not seen many, but his very essence seemed to reflect the sun that shined on him. He was simply radiant, and her heart skipped as she slowly made her way towards him as if guided by the divine. Nothing could stop her from approaching him, not her decorum, or teachings, and certainly not the half-elf who seemed to be wary of anyone who wasn’t them.

“Hurry, I’ve got one of those brain things cornered.” The elf gestured with his head towards a brush he was standing next to.“There, in the grass. You can kill it, can't you? Like you killed the others.”

Tav took a step forward. The elf drew closer. She just nodded, not trusting her voice around the man. “There, can you see it?” She put her hand on the pummel of her short sword and tried to peer around the bush to find the intellect devourer.

A mad dash of a wild boar who was hiding in the grass. Tav jump a little, put her hand on her chest, and let out the breath she had been holding only for it to be taken away when she felt the cold steel of a blade at her throat. She tried to run, but was swept from her feet to the ground by the elf.

“Shh. Not a sound. Not if you want to keep that darling neck of yours.” He looked up to where Shadowheart was standing. “And you - keep your distance. No need for this to get messy.”

“I need her alive - stow that blade or I'll show you just how messy things can get.”

Tav’s heart started pounding even harder in her chest. She didn’t particularly trust Shadowheart not to make the situation worse.

“Promises, promises. But I have other business, I'm afraid.” He turned his head back to Tav. “Now, I saw you on the ship, didn't I? Nod.” He said as one might to a child or someone they felt was intellectually inferior. Tav, terrified of doing anything that would cause the man to slit her throat, obediently nodded. “Splendid. And now you’re going to tell me exactly what you and those tentacled freaks did to me.”

“You’ve got it all wrong-” she started, finally finding her voice, but was cut off by the man.

“Don't lie to mel I-agh.” A shooting pain took over Tav’s mind. She felt the worm wriggling inside her brain connecting to the one inside the elf.

She was in a dark alley, late at night, peering at people who were talking, laughing, drinking outside what appeared to be a tavern, and was overwhelmed by a feeling of hunger.

As soon as it came, the vision and the pain inside her mind was gone. She was back on the beach in the man’s arms. “What was that? What's going on?”

“It's the mind flayer's worm - it connected us.”

He slowly released her, and she rolled away in order to stand and face him. “You're not one of them. They took you, just the same as me.”

Tav nodded and pleaded with her eyes for him to believe her. “And to think I was ready to decorate the ground with your innards. Apologies.” He stood up straight, put the dagger away, and then flashed her a charming smile.

How was she supposed to react to that? One minute he is threatening her life, the next he acts as if it can happen to anyone. Luckily she didn’t have to respond, he continued the conversation himself.

“Please, allow me to introduce myself. My name’s Astarion. I was in Baldur's Gate, when those beasts snatched me.”

“I’m Tav, and this is Shadowheart,” she gestured to the half-elf beside her, “we were both on the ship when it crashed. Well, actually, we were kind of the ones who made it crash.” She said with a small smile.

“My, my, you've been busy.” He put both of his arms on his lower back and leaned slightly towards her like he was wanting to hear some sordid gossip. “So do you know anything about these worms?”

“Yes. Unfortunately, they'll turn us into mind flayers.”

His arms and face fell. His eyes got as wide a saucers with what appeared to be both fear and sadness. “Turn us into - ha. Hahaha!” Astarion looked away and started cackling as if Tav had told him a funny joke. “Of course it’ll turn me into a monster. What else did I expect?” He said more to himself then them. “Although it hasn't happened yet.” He turned to Tav. “. If we can find an expert - someone that can control these things - there might still be time.”

“Control it? We need to get rid of it.”

“Well yes, of course. But first things first.”

Something pulled inside of Tav’s stomach. It felt as if someone or something was tying a string from her to Astarion. Tav had never felt anything like it, but knew she must listen to it. “You should travel with me. Our odds are better together. We’re going to look for a healer.”

“You know, I was ready to go this alone, but maybe sticking with the herd isn't such a bad idea. And you seem like a useful person to know. All right, I accept. Lead on.” He said with a little bow.

Tav turned to Shadowheart who gave her an incredulous look. Tav just shook her head and shrugged as if to say, “Even I don’t know.”

MY EXPERIENCE IN THE ROLEPLAYING COMMUNITY

Unfortunately, I've distanced myself emotionally from the RP community for quite a few years (just a defence mechanism, I believe?). I've also not had this blog long enough to form any deep and emotional bonds yet. HOWEVER, in saying that, I can definitely say I absolutely love seeing these three peeps on my dash and getting to chat with them when I do get the chance:

@spiderwarden who has made me absolutely fall in love with Minthara as a character. I've not even played with her as a recruit, but I NEED to now because of Mel's absolutely in depth and adoration for her as a muse. Seriously, I adore your Minthy SO damn much.

@crimesought I just love Cassian so damn much. You were one of the very first people I followed in the BG3 community, and you're such a sweetheart. I love seeing Cass on the dash and I'll always say how damn pretty he is!

@ode-of-odr because how can I not love Ras? He's amazing in both DnD and Dragon Age verses, and Mel has always been a supportive friend to me over the years, even if we don't always talk, I know you GET me. <3 Thank you so much for all of your support through the years, you're a wonderful friend *hug*

I am hoping to make some more connections with people here, and I would love to, but breaking down those walls has been hard as of late, but I am trying very hard to allow myself to be vulnerable and meet new people. :)

VAL'S BG3 VERSE CHEATSHEET.

as a tl;dr; i will be keeping Val's DA verse as her home canon, meaning that her BG3 AU will be a secondary verse that acts as a sequel of sorts to her DAO timeline, blurring both universes together a little.

her BG3 verse picks up ten years after the events of DAO, during the DAI timeline when the Hero of Ferelden is conspicuously absent and based around the line from a romanced warden Alistair where he talks about the DAO protagonist having gone "west" in search of a cure to the taint.

considering that Alistair is Val's romance by default, the difference here is that this takes place in her arc where she and Alistair have amicably broken up and he is made king. Val is pursuing a lead for a cure that takes her west of Thedas into the continent of Faerun, where she travels onward to the Sword Coast and is abducted by the nautiloid like the other origin companions.

following a wonderful discussion with mel ( @spiderwarden ) about the potential connections that can be drawn between the dalish and the drow in a crossover verse, Val would technically qualify in Faerun on first glance as a high elf, though her lifestyle and background is nothing like them for the most part. in a continent of heightened elven magic where Solas's tearing down of the veil did not reach, Val would have a high elven lifespan assuming that she is able to cure the taint that limits her lifespan to 20-30 years from her induction as a Grey Warden. ( as for how to cure it? like Grand Enchanter Fiona, she would need the taint "drawn" out of her bloodstream. it is mine and @anquenin's working theory that astarion, or rather vampires in general, could be the cure she's been looking for )

speaking of the taint, the effect of the Calling on Val is paused as a result of the mindflayer tadpole.

in DA she is a rogue class with the ranger specialisation ( and i have brought in D&D elements in terms of writing her over the past few years anyway ), so in BG3 i played her as a ranger / rogue ( and this is what stops me from making her a druid despite her background. she may originate from a nomadic clan but she was one of their hunters, and refined those combat skills during her years in Amaranthine leading the Grey Wardens )

naturally, Val's choices align with a "good" playthrough after already having saved the world once, but a lot of what i wish to explore with her BG3 arc is Val being in an older, more mature place as opposed to the 19/20 year old Val who was forced to join the Grey Wardens and amass an army to fight the Archdemon. that version of Val was naïve to much of human society and was pushed into a lot of decisions ( such as making Alistair king ) by those around her, particularly when it came to the Landsmeet. as a result, she prioritised duty and the safety of Ferelden over her own happiness during the game and for the ten years afterwards, and her BG3 arc gives her the chance to seize a happy ending for herself too.

I did answer this in another one, but at the moment I can't think of really any. I just kind of go with the flow with whoever has what.

I might try my hand back at Miss Fortune again, I love a sassy pirate. I dont' see her around much, Another one might be Nami, but she is so highly restrictive with being a water being/mermaid type character and I wouldn't like that kind of restriction. I tend to try and focus more on characters form Piltover and Zaun though. I did write Mel a bit, but I just realized due to some situations I can't write her (I still love her though). Grayson is a big one, I wish someone wrote her, I lvoe to write with her.

Maybe I could, come up with a plotline, maybe something almost mirrored reflection like what happens to Vander becoming Warwick. Imagine someone doing that to Grayson, like kind of being this protector of the night but she has to stay in the shadows. Where Warwick is struggling with the bloodlust and that, Grayson having complete control, but she would be absolutely outcasted by Piltover due to her 'monstrous' look.

As for my style, I'm very much a plotter. I can't do random threads off the whim and improvising is way too hard. Now, I'm not saying I need a script, its okay if a character does something unexpected that we didn't talk about. What i'm looking at is more of a plotting foundation rather then 'we have to do this, then this, then this'. It gives a form of stability, while still allowing characters to act out. I guess, ironically, think of it like DnD. The dungeon master gives you a storyline, a plotline, and then you throw your characters into it to see what happen. You don't know what will happen, but you have a general idea of what your goal is.

I don't mind canon divergence, in fact, when you look at my Caitlyn and Vi, they are EXTREMELY divergent. They are both half vastaya, caitlyn never becomes sheriff, Vi will never be an enforcer (ever), my ciatlyn actually does get into the politic lifestyle as she is the heiress of her house now, etc….. but I never take away from the character. I take what is made form the character and expand.

However, I do not do crossovers. There is this problem in my head that, when you cross two worlds, it functionally does not work for me. Its like putting ice into fire, the ice will not last, it will melt and disappear. It takes away from the inclusion of the world in my mind as well, I do not like it. Trying to throw say, Elsa from Frozen into Hazbin Hotel, its just not going to work for me. Massively two different genres, different worlds, smashed into one is not the kind of chaos I like. Even if someone is say a "multi-universe traveler" it still takes away that inclusion factor for me, so I stay away for it. It is why I say crossovers are not going to happen on my blog.

Alternate Universes, I don't really engage in. Again, I prefer to try and keep my character in the world they are in. AUs create different worlds, and so the character may grow up differently. The only AUs I do on this blog is putting Caitlyn and Vi into BG3. That's why I have it where I say I'm only writing in the BG3 universe or the LoL Runeterra/Arcane Universe. No AUs, no other things. It spreads me too thin and I really want to focus more on how these characters develop in their own worlds.
