BUCK IS THE BEST PERSON TO GIVE DATING ADVICE TO CHRIS, HEAR ME OUT.

Okay, I know we're all laughing about women fleeing Buck and how awful he is at relationships, but I don't feel like that's true.

First of all, just because a relationship ends, doesn't mean that it FAILED. Dating is as much about getting to know YOURSELF, what you want out of a relationship and what your own boundaries are as it is about getting to know the person you're dating. It's about growing, and learning from your mistakes, and I feel like Buck HAS done that. I'm not saying he's a perfect dater (the Taylor/Lucy thing, wtf was that?) but also, he has gotten better.

With Abby, he grew from fuckboy Firehose to someone that is considerate and thoughtful to his partner. (I don't LOVE that we credit Abby for his growth, since he was the one that made the initial boundary to not meet up right away because he didn't want to fall back into that sleep with anything that moves mindset, but she is mostly credited with it canonically, so we're going to use it.) Also, she didn't leave because Buck was a bad boyfriend or anything. She left because she needed to find herself after her mom died, and that's it.

With Ali too, she left because of his job, because she couldn't handle being with a first responder, which is a genuine concern for a LOT of people. It's hard to love someone with a dangerous job like that, and not know if they're going to come home at night. It had nothing to do with who Buck was as a boyfriend.

With Taylor, that whole relationship was a mess, IMO, them getting together when they did was a recipe for disaster. Obviously, Buck shouldn't have asked her to move in because he was scared to tell her about Lucy, but I'm not saying he's a PERFECT dater, I'm saying he's learning, and that's what's important. When he did admit to the kiss, Taylor is the one that decided that it wasn't a hard line for her, or she would have broken up with him, living together or not. It probably would have been awkward and complicated, but it was all of those things when they DID break up later in the series. From this relationship, Buck learned that it's better to be alone than it is to be with someone for the wrong reasons.

He has had a lot of growth from s1 to the end of s6, and that is clear in his dating.

Now, everyone that's saying Eddie should go to Bobby or Chim for advice, I'm going to say this: It's easy to date when you immediately find the person you're going to marry.

Let me be clear, I'm not saying that Madney & Bathena don't have their own struggles within their relationships, but Bobby and Chim got pretty luck, they found women that they clicked with and then eventually fell in love with almost as soon as they went looking.

When Bobby decided he was ready to move on from Marcy, the ONLY person we actually see him dating in the show is Athena, and they end up married.

After Tatiana leaves Chim, and he decides that he's going to be himself and look for a genuine connection, Maddie is conveniently placed in front of him.

I'm not saying that either of them are bad daters, or bad partners or anything, but we don't really SEE them date. Maybe it's because they're older and they already know what they're looking for and what they can and can't accept in a relationship, but realistically, it's wild to think that you're going to fall in love and get married to the first person that you find when you start dating. The majority of people have to date around and actually look to find the person they're meant to be with, not magically find them right out of the gate.

Especially for a FIRST first date, it's all about figuring out how dating works, what is and isn't expected and acceptable and navigating getting to know a new person, as well as yourself, and I think Buck is the clear best option when it comes to experience about women. He's had several girlfriends and also convinced only God knows how many people to sleep with him, so he's obviously charming, and pleasant to spend time within a romantic situation.

Also, God knows nobody is asking Eddie for dating advice, since the man only married his girlfriend bc she was pregnant and then had to be told (BY BUCK) that he deserved to be happy in a relationship instead of sticking it out for everyone else.

Anyway, this has been on my mind ever since that interview came out with everyone making fun of Eddie for going to Buck because he's had (based on what we're reading about Natalia's character) 4 "failed" relationships, but again, I truly believe that a relationship ending does not automatically mean it failed.

Also, Eddie goes to Buck because they're CO-PARENTS & SOULMATES but all of this other stuff too 😂

Chicago's 6 Merry Murderesses as Taylor Swift's songs

I thought of this earlier today and thought maybe one or two people on here might find it amusing so here you go lol.

For context, you've got to know the lyrics to Cell Block Tango. (If you don't and you want to read on, here are the lyrics.) I will refer to each of the murderesses by both their character name AND the sound they make in the song: Pop (Liz), Six (Annie), Squish (June), Uh-uh (Hunyak), Cicero (Velma), and Lipschitz (Mona)

I am assigning the songs based on the vibe their story gives me. I am also challenging myself by excluding "No Body No Crime," since that would be a bit of a cop-out IMO.

I had fun putting this together! I hope someone else finds it interesting lol.

POP/Liz: "Bejeweled" from Midnights

Liz says she kills her boyfriend because she came home from work in a bad mood and he was popping his gum too loud, which was a frequent habit of his. She was annoyed and told him to stop, but he didn't, so she shot him. This is, obviously, completely unhinged. It gives me "Bejeweled" vibes because of the lyrics "didn't notice you were walking all over my peace of mind" and "familiarity breeds contempt." Idk I just see a similar feeling of "you've gotten on my last nerve and I'm done with you" from both.

SIX/Annie: "Babe" from Red

Annie says she killed her boyfriend because he told her he was single, they got together and moved in, and then she found out he had multiple wives. So then she poisoned him. This gives me "Babe" vibes because it feels like she fell fast and hard and found out he wasn't the person she thought he was. This one is all about betrayal and feeling blindsided by infidelity and I think the song fits really well.

SQUISH/June: "Getaway Car" from reputation

June says she was making dinner when her husband burst through the door, screaming and accusing her of having an affair with the milkman. She then says he "ran into" her knife 10 times. We don't know for certain if his accusations against her are true; she doesn't let on either way. If he was screaming and raging, she could've thought she was in danger and acted in self-defense. My interpretation, though, is that she was cheating, and then killed him to keep him quiet. For this reason, I chose "Getaway Car," because the milkman was her own "Getaway Car" out of that relationship similar to how Taylor describes in the song.

Uh-Uh/The Hunyak: "Haunted" from Speak Now

Her story is SUPER sad. She's falsely accused of killing her husband, and then no one will listen to her because she can't speak English and properly advocate for herself. To me, this song captures some of the turmoil and grief she's feeling, both for herself and her husband. As the song says, "Come on, come on, don't leave me like this/I thought I had you figured out/Something's gone terribly wrong/You're all I wanted." And like, obviously, her husband didn't leave her here. But I think it portrays a similar feeling of dread and panic.

Cicero/Velma: "Better Than Revenge" from Speak Now

This was the first—and I'm pretty sure only—time Taylor addressed a woman with whom a boyfriend cheated or wronged her. I think it fits Velma's story very well. Velma and her sister did a traveling dance act, and Velma's husband traveled with them. One night, Velma caught them having sex, so she "blacked out" and killed them. Just look at the lyrics to "Better Than Revenge" and see what you think:

"She came along, got him alone, and let's hear the applause/She took him faster than you could say sabotage/I never saw it coming, nor would I have suspected it/I underestimated just who I was dealing with/She had to know the pain was beating on me like a drum/She underestimated just who she was stealing from."

Lipschitz/Mona: "I Knew You Were Trouble" from Red

Mona describes Al Lipschitz as being a sensitive artist. She says she fell deeply in love with him, but that he was trying to "find himself" and ended up cheating on her with multiple women. She's vague about how he died, but she does give us this pretty crazy line:

"I guess you can say we broke up because of artistic differences. He saw himself as alive... and I saw him dead"

Anyway, to be honest, part of what made me pick this song was picturing the music video: this suave, charming artist flirting with this girl and then leaving her because he's a "loner" and a "drifter." I think the story she tells goes well with the vibe of the song.

Umm, I have no idea where this came from? I may have come a little unhinged after this week's episode. I'm sure I'm not the only one. But in next week's preview, the clips of Buck look like he's talking to Eddie and helping patch his wall in his bedroom...!

And then my brain did the thing where it goes: Buck talking (to Eddie, in Eddie's room, fixing his wall cleaning his mess,) in a hoodie, with loose curly hair, which, after Monday's episode, we've seen is early-morning-comfortable Buck. Extrapolating from that, it's not beyond the realm of possible to presume Buck spent the night at Eddie's...? (I've connected two dots.)

So anyway, that's what inspired this. I haven't written anything in literal months, or shared anything in longer, and then I wrote this in a couple hours and sat on it for two days agonizing over it.

This is dedicated to @tulipintulle, because she is my bestest fandom friend, and keeps me appraised of the latest happenings, and listens to me rant about our stupid weewoo show (affectionate).

Buck leaves his loft after an explosive fight with Taylor that he thinks ended in a breakup? Neither of them actually said the words, so he's not sure... All he knows is that that's the last place he wants to be right now.

He's in his car driving to Eddie's house before he remembers that he and Christopher aren't home; they're still in Texas celebrating Eddie's dad's retirement. Buck briefly considers changing direction and heading to Maddie's instead, before deciding against it. She's at Chimney's, helping him settle in after being released from the hospital, and while he knows she wouldn't begrudge him the use of her couch, her's isn't the couch he wants to sleep on.

Buck pulls up to Eddie's and parks on the street, already feeling calmer than he had since seeing the news report on tv the night before. The feeling of peace only grows as he unlocks the door and lets himself inside, toeing off his shoes and dropping his hastily packed duffle by the door. He turns a lamp on in the otherwise dark living room, and collapses back into the couch.

The silence of the empty house envelopes him, but doesn't press in on him the way it had while packing his bag at the loft. Taylor had stormed out, going for a walk she'd said, and Buck had used her escape to make his own. Cowardly? Maybe. But he's said all he could, and more than a few things he'd aimed to hurt, just a little, just to try to make her see sense, and if she isn't going to try to understand where he's coming from... well, he knows better than to keep beating against a brick wall.

Buck would have thought he was too keyed up on adrenaline after the fight to fall asleep, but apparently he's wrong, since the next thing he knows he's startling awake at the sound of the door being unlocked. He rubs his eyes and twists to look over his shoulder at the door. What is Eddie doing home so early? Or, maybe it's late.

It's completely dark outside, and Eddie shuffles in carrying a sleeping Christopher, carefully closing the door behind him. "Hey, Buck," Eddie says lowly.

"Eddie? Everything okay? I thought you weren't coming back until Tuesday?" Buck finishes rubbing the sleep from his eyes, and yawns around the end of his question.

Eddie ducks his head and hides his fond smile in Christopher's messy hair. "It is Tuesday, Buck."

"It is?" Buck might be more tired than he thought, if he forgot when Eddie was coming home.

Eddie huffs a soft laugh, barely more than a puff of air blown out his nose, and says "Let me put Chris to bed, and then we can talk about why you're asleep on my couch in my empty house." He says it so fondly that Buck knows he doesn't mean anything by it, but he still stands up and straightens out his jacket he never took off, feeling a little guilty about imposing on Eddie when he's just gotten back from a trip.

Buck had thought he had another day before Eddie got back, a whole 24 hours to decompress from his life imploding, figure out if he still had a girlfriend - or even wanted to - and sort out if he needed to find a new place to sleep for the foreseeable future. Now he's left floundering for an explanation to Eddie's unasked question about what he's doing there as the man himself backs carefully out of his son's room and gently closes the door.

"Want a beer?" Eddie asks as he slips out of his boots and nudges them next to Buck's. The sight of their shoes lying next to each other's momentarily distracts Buck, and he has to forcefully pull his attention away when Eddie quirks an eyebrow at him and points his thumb back over his shoulder in the direction of the kitchen, even as he takes a step forward toward Buck standing aimlessly in front of the couch.

"Nah, I- I should get going anyways. Get out of your hair, let you relax," Buck rambles. "It- it's late, and you just got in, and-"

"Buck," Eddie interrupts, "you don't have to leave." He crosses the rest of the way over to the couch, abandoning the idea of grabbing a beer.

"I don't want to impose," Buck barely starts to speak before Eddie is shaking his head softly.

"You're not imposing. You're always welcome here." One side of Eddie's mouth lifts in a smile, and he ducks his head to catch Buck's eye when he tries to lower his gaze. "Everything okay with you?" Eddie nods over to Buck's duffle, still lying where he dropped it on the floor, a single sock and his phone charger spilling out where he hadn't pulled the zipper all the way closed in his earlier haste.

Buck feels his face flush, and finally breaks eye contact with Eddie to say "Taylor and I broke up. I think."

"You think?"

Buck winces. "It's complicated. We- we had a fight, and- and then she left, and then I left, and I don't really want to go back there tonight- I don't know if I want to go back there at all-" Buck cuts off his rambling with a sharp inhale of realization. "I don't want to go back to her."

Eddie seems to sense there's more to the story, but glances at his watch, and only says "Well, like I said, you're welcome here, as long as you need. Hey," Eddie pauses, and catches and holds Buck's gaze, "as long as you need, Buck, okay?"

Buck can only nod in awe and relief and gratitude.

Eddie smiles at him, and claps him gently on the arm. "C'mon, you get your stuff ready for bed, I'll get the pillows, and we can talk more in the morning."

Buck ducks his head down again, before lifting his gaze slightly to smile gratefully at Eddie. "Yeah, okay."

Eddie squeezes Buck's arm gently before letting go, and turns to go to the hall closet for the spare pillow and blanket Buck uses when he crashes on the couch. Buck heads to his bag and digs through it for the things he needs for bed, pulling out a clean pair of socks, cut off sweats, and a hoodie to sleep in. He thinks he forgot his toothbrush, but it doesn't matter since he's kept one here for longer than he can remember anyways.

He wonders at that, while he changes and brushes his teeth in the bathroom, that he's had a spare toothbrush here for longer than his and Taylor's entire relationship. It's silly, but it feels like a sign, that Buck has a home here, has had a home here, for longer than he's tried to make one elsewhere. He has a fleeting thought about some things being worth the work, while others feel like a struggle in futility, before he forces all thoughts out of his head.

Eddie said it's time for bed, and that they'll talk tomorrow. He'll tell Buck all about Texas, and his not-screwed-up/screwed-up family, and Buck will try to sum up the craziness of the past few days. Maybe they'll make pancakes; Buck wonders if Eddie's newfound culinary skills extend to breakfast foods beyond cereal.

Buck heads back out to the living room, where Eddie's apparently waiting for him after having made up the couch to sleep on. They look at each other in comfortable silence for a moment, Buck with his hands stuffed in the kangaroo pocket of his hoodie picking at his nails, before Eddie steps forward.

"Goodnight, Buck," he says, and instead of walking past him down the hallway to his own room, Eddie pulls him into a hug. It shouldn't be unexpected, but Buck is still surprised enough that it takes him a moment to pull his hands out from where they're trapped between them so he can bring them around Eddie to hold him close as well.

The hug is everything they haven't said tonight, can't say in the fragile dark of night, and is everything Buck needs.

Sooner than Buck wishes, they're pulling away. Eddie tells him goodnight one more time, before padding softly down the hall to his bedroom. Buck turns the lamp off, and settles into the couch to go to sleep. They'll talk tomorrow, and Eddie will be there for Buck, just like Buck's been there for Eddie, will always be there for Eddie. Buck closes his eyes and drifts off to sleep with a smile on his face. He knows, somehow, everything will be okay.

Adriana got detention for clocking Ana Flores in the face who was talking shit and spreading rumors about Sophia and her friend Shannon behind their backs. Unfortunately for her, Adriana stood right behind her at one of such speeches. Ana’s permanently crooked nose will forever remind her to keep her opinions to herself.

Buck got detention for filling Taylor Kelly’s locker with sewer water balloons after she posted an article about his friends Hen and Chimney with a story of an incident that happened at their previous school between them and some kid named Jonah Greenway who’s in a juvie now.

Buck and Adriana hit it off fast and soon became best friends. Her older brother was really grumpy about that.

Eddie is really suspicious of this Buckley kid, who after Adriana’s fight with some snooty brat, hangs out now with his sister all the damn time. Like, what are his intentions, huh? Like hell he will allow them sit in Adriana’s room with a closed door, nah-ah. No, sir! Not on his watch.

Never mind that Adriana was not interested in relationship with anyone. That’s just how she is.

Never mind that Buck gives Eddie, as Adriana likes to call them, stupid heart eyes every time they saw each other.

I just think, if MY mom died mysteriously--and maybe she killed herself or maybe my dad killed her--and then after the fact everyone was either asking me if anything seemed off (which. it didn't. which makes it worse--the fact that i was happy before this. the fact that I can't even point to anything and say 'oh that was a sign') or they were looking at me all pitying because i'm 'that girl' now

i think that i too would have some trouble forming trusting relationships with anyone. i too would be inclined to believe the worst of the people who seemed the most put together. i too would be inclined to dig and poke and push people to reveal the worst of themselves, because if it's out in the light it can't blindside me later.

i just think i too would refuse to let my boyfriend look at me after telling him i loved him--i'd feel a squeeze of panic as he turned his eyes toward me, and throw a green bean at his face and tell him not to make a big deal about it because it can't be a big deal. it can't.

i too would be more wounded by the lying than by the cheating because the cheating sucks but the fact that i look at him and i can't trust him any more? that's what really keeps me up at night, listening to his breathing and feeling each exhale press me further into the ground. the fact that I look at him and i hear echos of 'did anything seem off?' 'did you notice any signs?' and this time. well this time there were signs. i just didn't want to see them.

and this time, is it a comfort or a damnation that it's my fault? that i should have known. I should have remembered that even the best things are rotten at the base. but now i'm trapped in this apartment with a man i can't trust--a man i said i love and a man i might hate for making me vulnerable and then taking a stick to the places i finally let out into the light. and somewhere in the worst parts of me--the parts that keep me from looking myself in the eye as i put on makeup in the morning--i think i might be just like my dad after all.

“We are getting ready for my wife’s concert tonight,” Charles spoke to the camera. He decided that Y/n’s last concert would be a great place to make a vlog. He looked at his phone. “It is four thirty and the kids are not ready. Ruby is watching Bluey.”

“And Bingo! Don’t forget Bingo!” Ruby said as she munched on her fruit snacks while seated on the bed.

“Right, Bingo too. All of the family is coming and so are our friends. Maman and Théo are having a nap, but soon we’ll have to go to the arena to see my wife perform, isn’t that exciting, Ruby?” Charles asked the girl.

“She’s going to sing my favorite song, she told me.”

“What’s your favorite song?” Charles asked.

“All of them, duh!”

“How are you feeling?” The camera was pointed at Y/n, who was getting her makeup done for her show. Charles and the kids had arrived so they spent their time in Y/n’s dressing room until the show began. Y/n’s dressing room changed over the years. First, it was filled with makeup and dresses and lots of food for before and after the show. Now, it had a stroller, toys and diaper bags.

“I am so happy. My family and friends are here. I’m so glad all of the nights have been sold out.” Y/n smiled.

“And do you have any surprises for tonight?”

“I have some. . .”

Ruby was escorted to her seat along with the Leclerc family and their friends. As the show began, the lights changed which caused Ruby to scream as loud as she could. She had been to many of her mother’s shows before, but she always had the same reaction.

Y/n started singing and so did Ruby and Mathéo. They knew all of her songs even the unreleased ones. Towards the middle of the show, a man apart of Y/n’s security team whispered something into Charles’ ear then walked with him to the side stage. Ruby was the only one who noticed as her family and friends danced and sang along.

“So this is the part of the show where I usually have some big surprise. And I do have one, but I just want to take the time to thank all of you for being here, for singing these songs, dancing, making friendship bracelets, dressing up. I love you all and I hope you love this next duet.” Y/n said. She smiled as the crowd erupted into cheers.

She walked further down the stage to her piano. The fans immediately thought she would be the one to play the piano, but they were mistaken since Charles had made his way to the piano with the biggest smile on his face.

As Charles sat on the piano bench, Y/n spoke again to the crowd. “Ladies, gentlemen, friends. I am very happy to introduce you to the man that makes me the happiest woman on earth, my husband, my muse, Mr. Charles Leclerc!” Y/n clapped as the crowd cheered for Charles, who got shy by the love he was receiving. “and also the father of my two kids, just had to add that.” She chuckled.

“Hello.” Charles spoke into the microphone which caused more cheers.

“They love you,” Y/n teased as she looked back to Charles. “So Charles and I talked and we had a hard time trying to pick which song to play together. We didn’t know if we wanted to do a cover or one of my songs and finally we decided why not play a new song.”

As Charles played a bit with the keys, Y/n looked back once again to him just to make sure he was alright. She then nodded at him so they could start.

After the duet, Charles whispered an ‘I love you’ to his wife, which she returned. As the show went on, Y/n would often walk to the section that her family was in and blew them a kiss.

Y/n knew that most drivers on the F1 grid were going to attended, one of them being Sebastian with his wife and kids. She remembered Charles mentioning that it was Sebastian and Hanna’s wedding anniversary so she knew that she just had to sing a love song to them.

“This next song is dedicated to two special people who are celebrating their anniversary today. Seb, Hanna, congratulations and you know I will always love you and your family.” Y/n smiled at the Vettel family who were next to hers.

After the show ended, Y/n couldn’t believe she had just played fifteen nights straight. She loved performing, but what she loved the most was her family and her family needed her more than ever. She was finally coming home to her babies and Charles.

When she got backstage, she immediately started asking for her family. A stage manager had told her they were on their way backstage. When she spotted the kids, she ran up to them and hugged them.

“Maman! You sang my favorite song! And then papa played the piano with you! I waved at you but I don’t know if you saw me. I was with uncle Thur and Théo was with uncle Enzo. We sang so loud, could you hear us?” Ruby asked her mother.

“I did. You both sang so beautifully.” Y/n told her babies. They walked together to her dressing room where the rest of her family and friends were waiting.

“Ma fille! You did amazing as always! And that duet with Charles! You two know how to make a grown woman cry.” Pascale gave a hug to her daughter in law.

“Thank you for being here.” Y/n wiped away a couple of tears.

“You know I’ll always be there for you no matter what.”

After greeting and thanking everyone for coming, she finally got some alone time with Charles. He had surprised her with a giant bouquet of flowers and a cake to celebrate the end of tour. Charles sat on the sofa in her dressing room as Y/n was taking off her makeup in front of the vanity.

“When do you think you’ll be back on tour? I know you just finished.” Charles asked.

“I’m not sure. I don’t want to retire from the music industry. I want to be home with the kids, be able to help them with homework, make cakes for their birthdays, I would give anything just to be able to walk them to school.” Y/n explained. She began to feel emotional so she stood up and paced around the room in her white robe.

“I know, and you’re finally going to be able to do that, Mon amour. The kids are going to have their maman home.”

“I love you, I love you so so much.” Y/n said.

“I love you more.”

Eddie has always been a little jealous and possessive of Buck but I’m not quite sure he is fully aware of it. Like we have seen it many times, when other women have been involved. Like the moment he ran into Abby, and he literally spit her name out when he was talking to Bobby in the train was pure jealousy. How dare Buck’s first love come back into his life and now Buck is risking his life for her??? On top of that, every single scene he’s had that’s involved Taylor Kelly, he’s been very jealous. Let’s not forget the infamous “Go team” moment during the treasure hunt episode. Even with Natalia he wasn’t fully on board. Now I don’t think Eddie realizes he’s jealous because he hasn’t put all the pieces together. Because they’ve always been other women…Now if Buck mentions having any sort of attraction to a man, I strongly think a switch is going to immediately flip in Eddie’s mind. It’s going to be obvious as can be because that jealousy he’s always possessed is going to come out to play and he’s going to question why it’s very much prevalent at that moment specifically. Why is Eddie behaving this way and having these strong feelings over his best friend possibly finding another man attractive? Why does he feel so strongly about his best friend possibly wanting to date another man? It’s gonna be so different, and so fucking obvious, that I really do think that’s gonna be the catalyst where he finally connects all these dots and realizes that he may have non-platonic feelings for his best friend after all.
