my personal experience with 12th house synastry

⟢ i’ve been into astrology for 2 years now, and during this time i’ve noticed astrologers tend to not give much explanation to 12th house synastry. and i totally get why, it’s one of the most confusing houses in both synastry and natal charts, but today i’d like to talk a little bit about my personal experience with this complicated house and how it felt for me

⟢ so, for 6 months, i was in love with this boy who had a stellium in my 12H, and gods, was it the most confusing thing of our lives. he had his sun, mercury AND venus in my 12H house, so let’s dive into this. but before i start, i want to mention that this is my PERSONAL experience and what happened in my case, doesn’t mean will happen in yours too

⟢ i can confirm that what they say about the sun person not seeing the house clearly is very much true. sometimes it seemed like he idealized the idea of me while he wasn’t even sure of his feelings towards me

⟢ it seemed like his mind was in a total fog and he just couldn’t understand what he was feeling for me no matter how much he tried to. and i gave him PLENTY of time and patience to understand his feelings

⟢ as for me, the house person, let me tell you that i had so many dreams with him that it genuinely wore me out because those dreams were so vivid too. like i swear i have never in my life had so many dreams of only one person. and they were so frequent too. there was a time when i was dreaming of him almost every night

⟢ as if the dreams part wasn’t bad enough, i started over romanticizing every thing he was doing towards me and even managed to fool myself that he was SO in love with me, when in reality not even he was sure what he was feeling. the problem is that i didn’t even realize i was doing all of that until a friend pointed it out to me

⟢ for me, i always felt like he was the only one who could comfort me when it came to some serious personal problems of mine. it felt like somehow he always knew exactly what to say to me to make me feel better

⟢ there were moments when our conversations seemed to never end, but don’t get me wrong, there were moments when we would sit in absolute silence too, just scrolling on our phones. but even that silence felt comfortable

⟢ i feel like this was the placement that made it so difficult for us. i viewed him as the person i want to have a relationship with and portrayed him as my ideal partner

⟢ i was confused when he rejected me, but when we talked i realized he viewed me as someone too good for him, someone he’s scared he’ll hurt if he realizes his real feelings and those feelings are platonic

⟢ in our case, he had a time period when he tried to convince himself his feelings were romantic but he wasn’t able to so, therefore his feelings remained uncertain up to now

⟢ there were other times when i would hang out with him then when he’d left, people would ask me if we’re a couple or not. and when i told them no, they’d tell me that he surely likes me then because they see it in his eyes?? yeah and then he admitted people told him the same thing about me. SO it seems that for this placement everyone from the outside tends to see the connection besides the people who are actually involved in it

⟢ 12H synastry rarely works and it didn’t work in my case either, yeah, but if it didn’t work for me, that doesn’t mean it won’t work for you either. just don’t repeat our mistakes and try to talk openly with the other person, so there is no space left for confusion <3

mercury chiron aspects, you guys NEED to write and/or speak. i know you feel its your weakness but really it is your superpower

Mercury is the planet of communication and of the mind; it is one of the most important planets in a composite chart. The placement of Mercury in the composite chart can indicate how effectively and in what manner you and another person communicates as one. A harmonious aspect and house placement for Mercury in the composite chart can be very beneficial to any bond. It’s important to check both the house placement and the aspects to this planet to see how communication manifests within any bond you may be looking at.

I will be using the writings of Robert Hand from his novel “Planets in Composite: Analyzing Human Relations” to describe the meaning and significance of the Moon in each composite house. Please always keep in mind that this is only one vital step to reading an entire composite chart and should not be seriously considered without viewing everything as a whole. This is just one piece. 7H Composite Mercury

Mercury in the seventh house of the composite chart indicates that your relationship will work well as a partnership in mental and intellectual concerns. For example, if you came together to write a book (which this placement of Mercury does not indicate especially), you would be able to work together as a team very well. Similarly you would work well together in any kind of business or commercial activity, particularly those involving electronics, communication, data processing, or transportation.

In a personal relationship this placement indicates the ability to think as a team and to provide a united front, at least intellectually, to the rest of the world. The two of you are generally able to share your ideas and opinions about everything.

What are you thoughts on mercury in the 12th house synastry?

I actually just did a post sort of touching base on my thoughts but let me further explain :) I have had this synastry aspect with 2 very close, long-term friends in my life. We are no longer in contact, but I can say these relationships profoundly affected me. That's the thing about 12th house synastry in general -- you will feel the weight of the connection, and the other person's' energy despite not speaking. But more on mercury in the 12H. The BIGGEST issue the two of you will face with this aspect is of course, communication & communication of feelings more specifically. Using my own example -- I was the planet person, trying to "figure out" what the house person was thinking always because they never expressed themselves or how they felt about me. As the planet person, I feel I was more on the receiving end when it comes to confusion. That happens a lot with this placement -- mercury focuses a lot of energy on the mental aspect to things so in this synastry one (or both) of you could truly feel a little mind f*cked about what the other person feels for you. Mercury is of course about exchanging info, communication, etc.. so, with this synastry, you will find two people who love talking to each other. They talk about anything and everything, and things they will not talk about with other people. With one friend, we did sort of develop a trauma bond, but she was the only person I confided in with my deepest secrets. I also see this manifesting as always having an interest in talking about spiritual things and the paranormal. You two could ask a lot of "what if?" questions, or proudly wear tinfoil hats discussing conspiracy theories. You two could enjoy the uncomfortable, the grotesque, the unspoken about, the taboo etc., together and feel completely natural. I've also noticed that this is the type of placement that makes a person sorta sacrificial. Remember I mentioned there's a lot of talking and communicating etc.,?
