Kingdom Hearts Final Mix Recap: Atlantica
Sora is concerned about where they're going to land in a completely submerged world (given that they'll all drown if they're not careful), but Donald has a solution.
Sora, Donald, and Goofy arrive in Atlantica.
Sora is now a merman with a dolphin's tail.
Donald's a merduck who's part octopus.
Goofy's a sea turtle.
They are soon encountered by Ariel (The Little Mermaid), Flounder (The Little Mermaid), and Sebastian (The Little Mermaid), who teach our heroes how to swim!
How do they explain being sea creatures who can't swim?
Easy, they're from distant waters! These new currents are different from what they're used to.
As soon as you're taught the controls, Sebastian is ready to move onto the topic of self defense, with several Heartless helpfully volunteering by ambushing you at an astonishingly appropriate moment.
Note: Some of Atlantica's Heartless are actually HEALED by Thunder Magic. The water doesn't make Thunder spells more powerful. All of your spells function as normal, Fira included.
Our heroes defeat the Heartless, and Ariel asks Sora and his friends to accompany her and her friends to the palace, and Sora complies.
ARIEL HAS JOINED THE PARTY!
Upon arrival, King Triton (The Little Mermaid) smites a small group of Heartless with his Trident, declaring that Atlantica will be safe as long as he has his trusty Trident. So it's a good thing it will never, EVER be stolen!
He scolds Ariel for leaving, and then asks who her new friends are.
Sora, Donald, and Goofy introduce themselves, and Goofy explains that they're looking for the Keyhole. At which point the music stops, and you can FEEL the waters cool.
Ariel asks what that is, and King Triton ANGRILY denies that the Keyhole exists, CERTAINLY not in his kingdom, and tells them to look elsewhere.
Ariel retreats to her grotto, and Sora and friends follow her, leaving King Triton to ask Sebastian about the Heartless. Sebastian confirms his fears and suspicions, they are coming from Ursula's grotto.
Inside Ariel's grotto, Ariel tells her new friends about how much she'd love to visit another world, then asks if that seems weird to them. Sora confirms that he used to feel the same way, and when Ariel asks what he means by "used to" he claims he still does, remembering that he's not supposed to tell her about the other worlds.
She then proposes that they look for the Keyhole together, figuring that what her father doesn't know won't hurt him.
Also, Sora found a torn page in Ariel's Grotto, so guess where we're going after this is wrapped up!
Meanwhile, Sebastian is spying on them, and he's not the only one.
One of Maleficent's minions, Ursula (The Little Mermaid) is also watching the proceedings, and laughs maniacally at how she could turn this to her advantage.
Sora's and Ariel's search takes them to an old shipwreck, where they find a crystal trident that matches an indent in Ariel's grotto!
Unfortunately, they're then attacked by a shark.
After fighting off the shark, our heroes return to Ariel's grotto and fit the crystal in the indentation, at which point Triton arrives, scolds Ariel, PANICS at the sight of the crystal, and shatters it to pieces with a single blast of lightning.
Ariel leaves in tears, and when Sora tries to follow after to comfort her, Triton drops a wham line: He knows about the Keyblade.
He KNOWS that they're from another world, and TEARS into them for setting foot in his Kingdom, reminding Sora of the same "World Order" rule that Donald and Goofy brought up all the way back in neverland, telling them to leave his world and never return, as the Keyblade only brings ruin wherever it goes.
Sora is actually left wondering about the nature of his Keyblade (which he's only ever used to do good) after Triton leaves.
When Sora leaves the grotto, the player is treated to a cutscene where a sobbing Ariel is confronted by Flotsam (The Little Mermaid) and Jetsam (The Little Mermaid), where they claim that Ursula has the answer to all of her problems.
Ursula herself then appears, revealing that Sora and his friends are from another world, and claims that she can help Ariel travel between worlds, they just need to get her into the palace so she can "borrow" Triton's Trident.
Ariel protests that he needs that to protect the kingdom, but Ursula assures her that they'll put it back before he even notices that it's gone.
Sora, Donald, and Goofy then head to the palace because the player saw the cutscene.
Ursula IMMEDIATELY attacks King Triton upon getting her hands on the Trident, credits Ariel with the successful infiltration, and then has the Heartless restrain Ariel.
After all, she DID promise to send her to another world, and what's better than a one-way ticket to the dark world the Heartless crawled out of?
Thankfully, Sora and his friends intervene, and Ursula is forced to retreat.
Triton apologizes for his hasty behavior earlier, realizing that he had seriously misjudged Sora. He explains that the key to defeating Ursula is to use magic on her cauldron, the source of her power.
Ariel rejoins the party, wanting to make up for helping Ursula steal the Trident in the first place.
Sebastian leads the way to Ursula's grotto, and the heroes eventually confront her in her own lair.
Ursula is completely invincible, but you can knock out Flotsam and Jetsam temporarily to get some MP.
The only way to defeat Ursula is to use magic on her cauldron, matching the type of magic to the color.
When the cauldron overloads, Ursula, Flotsam, and Jetsam will get stunned, allowing Sora and his friends to damage the Sea Witch.
Eventually, Ursula is defeated, the cauldron is destroyed, and a stray blast kills Flotsam and Jetsam.
Ursula retreats, and our heroes learn how to perform the "Mermaid Kick" to swim against currents.
Our heroes confront the now giant Ursula in the Deep Ocean. She's vulnerable to stop, and her weak spot is the back of her neck.
She also constantly rains down lightnight, attacking with magic like shooting bubbles and breathing a beam of lightning. She can also inhale Sora and friends to perform a biting attack.
Eventually though, Ursula is slain, leaving behind both the Trident AND the third page of Ansem's report:
The shadows that crawl beneath the castle... Are they the people who lost their hearts, or incarnations of darkness? Or something entirely beyond my imagination?
All my knowledge has provided no answer. One thing I am sure of is that they are entirely devoid of emotion. Perhaps further study will unlock the mysteries of the heart.
Fortunately, there is no shortage of test samples. They are multiplying underground even as I write this report. They still need a name. Those who lack hearts... I will call them the Heartless.
Also, Thunder became Thundera.
Back at the Palace, King Triton explains why he destroyed the crystal: It would have revealed the Keyhole, and he fared what horrors the Keyblade would unleash from within. Now that he knows that Sora intends to LOCK the Keyhole to keep the Heartless from destroying his world, however, he understands that he acted brashly, and allows Ariel to borrow his Trident so that they can use THAT to reveal the Keyhole.
After locking it, Sora apologizes for not telling Ariel he was from another world, but she forgives him immediately. She'd like to see the other worlds herself someday, but is mature enough to realize that an interplanetary crisis probably isn't the time to go on a World Tour.
Sora and friends depart from the world, with one very soggy torn page to return.
Tomorrow, it's back to the 100 Acre Wood.

Honestly just like in the movie we could've skipped half of this if Triton wasn't an over-reacting dick

Review/Reaction for "The Lost Harp of Mervana!"
Got a crazy week since i returned to classes and had a lot of Homework to do and send so i didn't really had time to write this post but know i do.
Ok so this episode wasn't great but it wasn't that bad, it was a good episode, but rewatching it made me appreciate it more and more.
Favorite Moments and opinions
Loved the longer intro with Della, My heart is full and know i can sleep in peace.
Loved Huey's and Scrooge's long winded treasure speech and their enthusiasm.
Della's hatred or fear of fish why?? ( Also Donald and Della are piloting or navigating together so cute) The rally for sacrificial offering made me laugh way to hard and of course Dewey's on top.
MERMAIDS!! merducks i don't know but MERMAIDS!!!!(Della's reaction oh My God)
Oh My there hippies!!! ( I loved Scrooge is underwater but still wearing his top hat) Poor Donald and his suffering.
Catched the little mermaid reference
I absolutely loved Beakley playing the bongos , hey Donald is also liking the bongos
Scrooge's drawing and ruining Dewey's tail i'm in stitches
Beakley to the rescue.
Louie is right he already has felt what is like that a family member hides a very important secret and Even if it's for protection and their good You shouldn't hide it from them.
Peaceful Donald is the Best kind of Donald (after Good Dad Donald of course)
Poor Della having to entertain herself and then Dewey holy ducks i AM laughing way to hard.
Scrooge's reaction is killing me
I didn't know who Retta was till this episode bit i did like her as the Harp she was funny and whimsy.
Poor Webby having to learn the truth that way.
Oh God Scrooge can be so intense sometimes.
Webby being so cynical and depressed is honestly so sad to watch but i did liked that Louie of all people is the one who makes her see the Best in herself and her world view.
Donald is officially the Hulk of the Duck Family (atleast they didn't said that his famous chili was Bad)
Ha floppy merducks. Della to the rescue (but kinda nasty to be honest.) That transformation scene was gross but good.
More floppy fish ducks.
That ending, the lies the lies, BUT WHAT LIES!!!?!?!
Review
So like i said in the beginning of the post i really didn't like this episode like don't get me wrong it's a good episode with a good message (especially in these times) but i was expecting more F.O.W.L this episode for some reason and when i saw it the first time and saw that there was no mention of it i got pretty disappointed but like i said rewatching it made like it a bit more.
Loved that it was a Beakley and Webby focused episode especially in the dynamics of their relationship and how they see the world and how trustworthy each of them are.
So i like the story and the comedy of this episode, Hynden Walch and Greg Cipes as Alethiea and Vero they did a good performace as hippie merducks and like i said before i really liked Retta as the Harp.
Loved the message of honesty and saying the truth Even if it's gonna hurt i think this lesson is important especially in these difficult time we're living right know.
Overall a fun episode with a nice message i give this episode 3.5 ducks out of 5 ducks
