I know it's the 17th, but I wanted to draw for MerMay so they are not going to be in order and I'll probably only be drawing ones that click with me the most.

Anyhoo, here's day 2!

I based this mermaid of a betta fish. I was looking up what fish create bubbles and found out betta create bubble nests which I thought was adorable.

"Sakura"

In the garden's hush, 'neath twilight's pall, Cherry blossoms sway, a silent thrall. Their petals whisper soft goodbyes, In mirrored depths where dreams arise.

With mournful grace, on mirrored sheen, The blossoms pirouette, then fall unseen. For in their bloom, they dance, they sigh, But all too soon, they fade and die.

In hues of pink and fragile white, They paint the waters with soft light. Even as they grace the water's gleam, Their fate is sealed, a fleeting dream.

Like whispers lost in evening's glow, In nature's cycle, swift they go. Each blossom, a reminder clear, Of life's ephemeral veneer.

In every fall, a solemn plea, To cherish moments, let them be. For life, like blossoms, swift and fleet, In moments past, we find it sweet. ...

FAIRY TALE ART SERIES | Hans Christian Andersen's 'The Little Mermaid' | PART I

I previously uploaded this design for my interpretation of Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid, but added a new look for her, based on the original story, complete with a wreath of lilies and oysters from her grandmother, and her veil as well.

I plan to draw designs for the other characters in the story as well!
