Where did you find the epitaph poem for Midnight Club?
Great question. I found it in this fantastic video essay by Ladyknightthebrave. The whole thing is worth a watch, but she cites the poem at the end of the video and I started getting teary-eyed. We chased it down for CLUB and it's one of my favorite moments of the series.

The poem is "Epitaph" by Meritt Malloy, and if you aren't familiar with it, here it is:
Epitaph
by Merrit Malloy
When I die Give what’s left of me away To children And old men that wait to die. And if you need to cry, Cry for your brother Walking the street beside you. And when you need me, Put your arms Around anyone And give them What you need to give to me.
I want to leave you something, Something better Than words Or sounds.
Look for me In the people I’ve known Or loved, And if you cannot give me away, At least let me live on in your eyes And not on your mind.
You can love me most By letting Hands touch hands, By letting Bodies touch bodies, And by letting go Of children That need to be free.
Love doesn’t die, People do. So, when all that’s left of me Is love, Give me away.
I’ll see you at home In the earth.

MEZAR YAZISI

Watching The Midnight Club and this poem hit so hard I had to find it for future reference. Epitaph by Merrit Malloy
When I die Give what's left of me away To children And old men that wait to die. And if you need to cry, Cry for your brother Walking the street beside you. And when you need me, Put your arms Around anyone And give them What you need to give to me. I want to leave you something, Something better Than words Or Sounds. Look for me In the people I've known Or loved, And if you cannot give me away, At least let me live on your eyes And not on your mind. You can love me most By letting hands touch hands, By letting Bodies touch bodies, And by letting go Of children That need to be free. Love doesn't die, People do. So, when all that's left of me Is love, Give me away. I'll see you at home In the earth.

« When I die, give what’s left of me away to children and old men that wait to die.
And if you need to cry, cry for your brother walking the street beside you.
And when you need me, put your arms around anyone and give them what you need to give me.
I want to leave you something, something better than words or sounds.
Look for me in the people I’ve known or loved, and if you cannot give me away, at least let me live in your eyes and not your mind.
You can love me best by letting hands touch hands, and by letting go of children that need to be free.
Love doesn’t die, people do.
So, when all that’s left of me is love, give me away. »

Epitaph by Merrit Malloy
When I die
Give what’s left of me away
To children
And old men that wait to die.
And if you need to cry,
Cry for your brother
Walking the street beside you.
And when you need me,
Put your arms
Around anyone
And give them
What you need to give to me.
I want to leave you something,
Something better
Than words
Or sounds.
Look for me
In the people I’ve known
Or loved,
And if you cannot give me away,
At least let me live on in your eyes
And not on your mind.
You can love me most
By letting
Hands touch hands,
By letting
Bodies touch bodies,
And by letting go
Of children
That need to be free.
Love doesn’t die,
People do.
So, when all that’s left of me
Is love,
Give me away.

Translation of the poem "Epitaph" by Merritt Malloy into Russian
The original is here.
