#meta ( ga ram. )
the left hand ( meta: yohan. )
okay so this is probably a post i should have made about k when i initially added them to my roster ( summer 2022, wow time flies sdkljfs ), but…let’s just say when it comes to the relationship between yohan and k, i headcanon that k ( ga-ram ) has romantic feelings for yohan, has for a very long time, and still isn’t quite over him.
( spoilers for 'the de*vil jud*ge down below! )
main reason for this is that ga-ram was young and impressionable when they initially met yohan and bc yohan was the only person at the time who could understand & relate to that rage and need for revenge….and ga-ram latched onto yohan HARD. yohan basically taught them how use anger ( aka repression and put into the plan instead ). literally put him up on a pedestal and thought he could do no wrong for a certain period of time. and while in the series it’s shown that yohan is very charismatic and manipulative, i don’t think he meant to have his plan take up at least 10 years of ga-ram’s life.
But also in those ten years ( or more ) before ga-on came into yohan’s life, yohan probably saw ga-ram as much of an anchor as much as ga-ram did…there probably was SOME kind of a romantic relationship or at least a friends-with-benefits dynamic between them…the car ride scene where k gives ga-on the advice about not getting too close to yohan, that’s the advice k would have given their younger self. By the time series starts, i would say k and yohan have like…you know that situation where you're single, but you rebound with your ex bc it’s easier to have a one night stand with someone you already know than go and try to find someone new? Yeah that’s kind of what their relationship was like- by then, k wasn’t passionately in love with yohan, but they did love him, even with knowing all his flaws….which is the reason they still stuck around after chang-hee died.
this is all to say, in my interpretation of k, when they woke up after the fall, they didn’t take any of it well. Like for one thing, the system they and yohan were trying to change? Didn’t change a bit so that makes ga-ram feel like those last ten years were nothing. But also yohan up and running to switzerland and not even telling anyone where he was hiding for the longest time? Well it’s kinda like the main foundation of k’s life has just crumbled and while k does know yohan meant well, keeping this a secret, they can’t help but feel betrayed…yohan did have like a trust fund set up for ga-ram and technically ga-ram does get money ( a lot too ) from that, but they refuse to touch any of it. They refuse to talk to yohan or about him either.
( i will say, i think yohan probably also didn’t tell k for the longest time bc he knew k would follow after him and in yohan’s eyes, k deserves a chance to live their own life and the life would be healthiest without yohan there. )

meta time: therapy
aka a ranking (callout) by ferre of who needs therapy atm ( will also feature my two single blog muses too ):
9. ahn yoojin
the way i write him, i think of him as someone who has gone to therapy and has done the work. yeah he still have some struggles and there will be more, but ultimately he has the tools to cope, he'll be fine. probably wouldn't go to therapy now anyways only because he prefers to be on the move.
8. lamon chuphong
surprisingly ranked low on this list, but he's one of the three muses in my roster who has seen a therapist, is the only one currently seeing one and therefore is currently working thru his problems. if this had been before his main verse, he's probably be much higher up in this list, dealing with body dysphoia and also just a ton of repression but he already hit rock bottom and is finally letting all that anger and frustration out now. it's really a matter of just flushing out all the bad things that have accumulated over the years at this point and figuring out where to go from there :'D
7. patrick myungdae grace
you know seeing a therapist probably would do him some good especially in the aftermath of felicity's second passing and of knowing the truth about his bio family. that's a lot of take in all at once...but if we're talking about now, i think he has more or less come to terms with felicity's passing- after all, he's had about ten years to really think about it and process his grief...he really just needs that final push to cross the boundary aka her second passing to accept that she's gone and he can move forward.
6. suki nakamura
the other half of my muses who has seen a therapist. she initially went to get her pyrophobia treated....and it has worked somewhat. her therapist also tried to help her find other coping mechanisms aside from folding paper to deal with the excess energy she has...did that work? no :'D i do think though that once the truth behind her parents' death comes out, she will return to therapy as there isn't really anyone else she can rely on 😭
5. mana huynh
considering her past, yeah talking it out with a therapist might be helpful, but also a lot of the growth, unlearning, and softening mana has done, it's been on her own...sure, therapy might be good for other people, but it might not be as effective for her. she's not very comfortable with speaking about herself with most people, so it would take her a long time to feel comfortable with speaking about that with her therapist....and therapy costs money :/ that and she's had bad experiences with therapists in the past so that already puts a sour taste in her mouth.
4. raphael wei
would probably benefit from grief counseling and then general counseling when it comes to unpacking the expectations and pressure he's carried for years on end. i don't think he even realizes he's been carrying that and it's like?? not normal and no person should realistically feel like they have to live up to a dead parent's legacy?? the therapy might also be good for him to help figure out why he wants to cook in the first place.
3. k ( lee ga ram )
years of repression and a desire for revenge on becoming orphaned and not mention devoting almost two decades to following and helping another person has left them with very little of a sense of self, especially in the aftermath when they wake up from their fall since the one person who had been there all that time is gone, the system they've fought so hard against is back in place, and now they have to pick up the pieces and figure out what they're going to do for the rest of their life. a therapist, aka an unbiased voice would probably be very useful here, just saying.
2. calum hyun-ki reynolds
the final of the three muses who has been to therapy. he went for a period of time after daniel's passing before taking flight permanently as his life got busier and he had all the tools. HOWEVER, nowadays, considering he's mourning the loss of his wife, while balancing taking care of his kid ( who is also equally traumatized and scared af of losing dad as well ), and also is dealing with suicidal ideation. he thinks he has it all under control but with how overly self-sacrificial and isolated he's become, it might be time for him to go back.
1. shin myungdae
i don't even know where to begin with this, but literally myungdae please go to therapy. literally he's living as he was in the past five years. transitioning to a civilian life is NOT going well, why else would he pick up the vigilante lifestyle...yes, there's a reason behind it, but also it's chaotic and requires one to be on their feet at all times...basically he doesn't know how to be at peace and literally again, needs a therapist the most, but he refuses to go, not until the whole ordeal is done...and even then, he's not sure if he'll make it out to the end...

had a conversation that actually made me sit up and pay attention to minkowski, who i always liked and appreciated but honestly never particularly pinged my interest, since she has largely presented herself as a person who likes to follow rules, who is reasonable, and whose moments of absolute batshittery are framed by her as moments of desperation, actions she was forced to take against her will. self-doubt and insecurity aren't compelling traits in characters to me
and, since i'm not immune to an unreliable narrator, i fell for it
i've seen some meta about how the si-5 lost in the mutiny confrontation because kepler screwed up and made mistakes, which is true to the extent that his mistake was assuming he was dealing with a reasonable person in minkowski! which really IS a mistake. he had logs! why would anyone who heard hephaestus crew logs assume she was any more normal than eiffel or hera or hilbert??
but either way i really think that interpretation is a huge disservice to the resourcefulness of the hephaestus crew, who won because they were unpredictable, because they grew beyond the people that kepler heard in the logs that he doubtlessly studied, but i digress
kepler backed down when minkowski threatened to drop the station, because he had just heard her shoot maxwell, another thing he was convinced she wouldn't do. (incidentally, which is why it's funny that in brand new world when cutter & co were convinced that eiffel would never ram the station, kepler was the first to acknowledge that oh yes, he would, because he is by now intimately familiar with how deeply UNreasonable the hephaestus crew is)
and that's… kind of their strength! minkowski believes herself to be and has always presented herself as someone who follows rules, who is diligent and reasonable, but a reasonable person doesn't turn a room's temp to 40 degrees to recover a single tube of toothpaste. she could've just ignored eiffel, eiffel-proofed their other supplies, and eiffel's need for attention would've won out. a reasonable person doesn't choose to drop a station into a star. a reasonable person doesn't hunt a plant monster for weeks. a reasonable person doesn't gas their crewmates just because they're insufferable. a reasonable person doesn't resort immediately to escalation 100% of the time and try to justify them. like ma'am, there were so many other options
her narrative of becoming someone who embraces how batshit and unpredictable she is & using it to get one over on goddard management is the BEST, because i love a character who is deliberate and intentional about their actions. and part of her learning to be a better, more effective leader is leaning into her strengths, and part of that strength is in being stubborn to the point of irrationality. everyone else is playing chess; minkowski is kicking over the table
thanks @ hazel who wisely doesnt use tumblr for hashing this out, i had a ton of fun 😂

The Devil Judge, Ep.1 Meta
(On the re-imagined justice process, imageries, parallels in South Korea and our world today)
As with all dystopian fiction, it is not exactly a far-fetched imagining of our world. Instead, it is a critique of our society which seeks to amplify the inequalities and suffering of society through some exaggeration.
The Devil Judge is that: it "re-imagines" South Korea today with a sprinkle of cyberpunk aesthetics (a little too much bluish green tint) and dystopian imagery (of homeless people, a very dirty subway and dingy backalleys on a rainy night).
I kept thinking it was a dystopian "future" but was wondering why they were using only Samsung Note 20 instead of some Samsung futuristic prototype phone. So, those phones do keep audiences grounded in the reality it is portraying -- this is the alternative South Korea of today.
We are barely halfway into the first episode and we've got this extremely charismatic, anti-hero male lead strutting red carpets and making verbose declarations like "I am the power. By the judicial authority delegated to me by the people of Korea, I will run this court. And it is the people who hold this power." (Not verbatim but that's the gist).
Then, meet associate judge Kim Ga-On who seems to be against how the system is running. He seems to be the outlier who rose to his ranks from the bottom class of society (which his colleague Oh Jin-joo says, he looks like he's from the shanty town of Seoul). We start off, barely into the drama at this point, with a dramatic scene of a kindergarten bus ramming down barricades and charging towards the Court building. A group of kindergarten children crossing the road there (I've just no clue what businses kids would have near the court building tbh). A little girl tripping as they were rushed across the road, Ga-On jumping to the rescue, and unable to pick her up in time, shields her with his own body. Kang Yo Han is just there, taking a heavy gun from the guard and unhesitantly opened fire at the bus driver who was flooring the pedal. He misses the driver's head and hits the headrest before firing again. The bus swerves and flips. The driver loses consciousness and Ga On (again!) jumps to the rescue. So, here the tone is set. We've got this "devil judge" who seems to be the ultimate modern day anti-hero who's given immense amount of power.
Much more interesting is that in this dystopian South Korea, we've got what seems like a publicly elected judiciary (or Kang Yo Han is perhaps the first?) and that has always been something that has been discussed in legal academic. Not the idea of electing the judiciary but that the argument of the judiciary not being publicly elected can be seen as slightly out of tune with democracy. (In legal academic, however, this is theoretically seen as being balanced by the separation of powers; ie. the executive branch (=government) and elected members of Parliament/Congress are supposed to be fully separated from the judiciary and should therefore never interfere with the judiciary. But, of course, these are all theoretical stuff. They look good on paper and when discussed in legal essays but in reality, it can often be different (if not, the exact opposite). This series takes things to yet another level by imagining the inception of a publicly televised and publicly voted trial.
This goes against the nature of trials in general because in our world today, the judiciary (wherever it may be) typically have mechanisms (ie. laws and codes) to prevent manipulation by media. The principle of fair trial requires that no external influence affects the process of adjudication (ie. the judgement by judges). There also tends to be avoidance of trial by public opinion because the way the law is interpreted and applied can be rather technical and different from what people may say or think about a certain trials, the decision delivered and also sentencing. Trial by jury is the nearest it gets but that too can be a fairly technical process which do also include considerations like avoiding a two-day trial to prevent influence by the media or other agents on a jury member's decision. (A recent drama mentioning this is Law School). The thing about this idea of trial by the public is that standards of morality can be very subjective and varies from person to person. Judgement by judges are not entirely free from the influence of morality, but the process is a litle more stable through the processes of interpretative practices, case precedents and legal theories. Previously in another Kdrama, Miss Hammurabi (2018), Judge Lim Ba-reun became slightly frustrated by his friend's comment that having a jury trial is like "true democracy" because the "people gets to decide" and he even thinks the judiciary should be elected too. Lim Ba-reun sarcastically said he must have loved every elected politican since they were elected by the public. He tells him grimly that no jury has ever found a policeman who had beaten up a Black man to be guilty. He also pointed out that Nazi, the Holocaust and Hitler were all supported by the public.
In this series, the premise allows all of these imaginings to be realised and played out. It is peak criticism, I think, when they portray the scenes of the TV producer being excited about the real-time ratings and viewer ratings. And also the scene of the broadcasting channel's chairman dancing in joy when he received realtime report of the ratings (vowing to treat his equally wealthy friends to a meal). Even when his other friend seemed appalled by the decision delivered by Judge Kang, the Chairman could not hide his joy in the skyrocketing viewership ratings. This really reminded me of the entire Produce 101 franchise which also heralded the shows for putting the decision in "The Nation's Producers" (ie. voters) and emphasised how it is the Nation Producers who put together ("produce") the National Kpop group that is bound for success and set to receive national love. All of this illusion collapsed (and the Korean franchise died along with it) when the court finds its producers guilty of voting manipulation. The Devil Judge seemed to have a similarly dramatic flair in its emphasis of TV production gimmicks, camera angles, cuts of a person's reaction, etc. The President of South Korea (who has a very light voice, a penchant for orotund speeches and a lack of concern for national policies) and all these top 1% of people tuned in were on the edge of their seats watching Judge Kang orchestrate this theatre of public trial. Kim Ga-On watched him closely and was sure that Judge Kang had something up his sleeves and was definitely up to no good, yet he couldn't tell. When he finally delivers a verdict (that yes, this was a case of professional negligence and not negligent homicide), Ga-On was crestfallen and frustrated because it carries a mere 5 year imprisonment maximum. But Kang turns the table and brings up the newly passed legislation which allows accumulative sentence which then resulted in 235 years of imprisonment.
This sounded very much like how some Korean netizens had previously wondered (online) why Korea couldn't have a sentencing system like the US where the years of imprisonment can go up to 100 years or 500 years. Again, this was like realising an alternative South Korea that many have perhaps tried imagining. Episode 1 ends with Judge Kang stepping down from his high seat when a victim's family member bowed deeply with her hands clasped, as though in prayer, and even kneeled to him. This corresponded well and tied perfectly into the religious/godlike imagery represented in the justice's robes which is reminiscent of the pope's robes and resembles a priest's robe, and the app they named DIKE or Diety of Justice (正義의 神). When Judge Kang hugs the old woman with a compassionate smile, teary eyed and full of empathy, he ends up yawning barely a minute into consoling the weeping woman. Ga-On witnesses this and realises, all of this must have been a gimmick after all. He had his hopes up when Judge Kang serves the sentence of 235 years. The episode ends.
I think this series is set to be a great one. (Just as Law School was amazing too!) It has tons of stuff to unpack, lots that goes into the cinematography and camerawork. While characters do seem a little more like caricatures rather than realistic people that are properly fleshed out in the narrative, there is still promise to push beyond these caricatures. I think there is also a lot in the imagery of dystopia and the constant bombardment of messages from the government (which is often the mainstay of dystopian fiction) which emphasises a certain narrative which they want the people to believe. For example, Kim Ga-On is travelling up the escalator when there were ads of the DIKE app, ads on electronic billboards on the justice system, paper posters plastered in the dark backalley where a high school girl is being dragged away by two men saying "The government will now create a safe South Korea". That last one is perhaps the most glaring one to me because when I was in Korea, it was repeated to me by different Korean individuals: "Your things are safe. No Korean will steal it. (Not sure about foreigners though!) You are safe. Crimes don't happen. I checked and there are no sexual offenders living in this neighbourhood." But... spycams can be anywhere. Men secretly follow women to their homes and try to break into them. Sexual harassment can happen anywhere. Robbery and theft can happen.
Personally, my paranoia and anxiety won't ever let me believe such words. No narrative, self-made or otherwise, can convince me enough to think that I am in a safe place. I would always have a nagging thought at the back of my mind telling me danger can be lurking just about anywhere. I think Koreans today do have high levels of confidence in their country. Most people do think it is safe to be walking around in the dead of night without any worry. (Again, I do not quite share the sentiment.) But this is a kind of self-made narrative because I also know my countrymen who travel to other countries like the UK and say "I feel absolutely safe walking the streets in the dead of night while I won't feel the same in my own country" when those are simply ideas they've planted into themselves through the mindset that [This country is better than my country and therefore safer.] There is absolutely no correlation between a "better" country and crime rates (or potential of becoming a victim of crime). Not to mention, being an Asian in a Western country sets you up as a likelier victim of hate crime...
So, I was saying.... This narrative of "safe Korea" is already existing in South Korea today. The need for mass surveillance or a spycam detecting task force in public toilets don't add up with a "safe country" image but the sentiment planted into the people seems to be strong despite all of this. However, Koreans do call South Korea "Hell Joseon". Youth unemployment can be a concern is a country like South Korea and a graying population, increasinly empty gray towns like the one mentioned in the series are all concerns which are ever-present in the public conscious. The mention of plauge and unemployment too must be a major concern now. In a rather similar vein, this narrative of DIKE or trial by the public through app voting creates a sentiment that people can take into their own hands and deliver justice. But what about the people at the margins of society who are homeless and do not own smartphones? What is this concept of democracy that places power in the hands of people? Is it a mere illusion or is power really in the hands of people?
..................................................................................................
(A side note on how the indicted chairman of the company responsible for mass poisoning of an entire town had brushed off concerns about a failing filtration system and the move of industrial plants to Southeast Asia. As a Southeast Asian, it is also something on my mind how South Korea has moved out of China and moved most of its plants to Southeast Asia for cheap labour. But what about the pollution here, the appallingly low wages they pay Southeast Asians (both white and blue collars!) in comparison to the few Korean expat managerial staff or engineers they station out here? I remember how I was at the hospital at 2 am and a small group of blue collar workers in their work uniform came in with their injured colleague; this can only mean they were at work past midnight due to some accident and we are still in the midst of the pandemic. What kinds of welfare and benefits are these blue collars provided with?)

The blame game
There is a vast difference between “I don’t think the show will have endgame Destiel” and “I’m going to throw large portions of fandom under the bus for my own unmastery of words, reporting, and editorialization improperly framing content to a large, varied audience.”
I’ve avoided sub blogging on this matter but it’s frankly out of hand at this point. Don’t expect endgame, that’s fine -- but not recognizing the error in the editorialization that caused the issue to begin with (and instead pitching it at meta authors rather than the pen that spurred it, when those meta authors were telling people “it isn’t what it looks like” to begin with) -- actually means it’s likely to happen again if you don’t introspect on what caused it.
In fact, meta fandom is pretty insular. The damage caused by the editorializing had far greater reach, and us flat-ass telling people to ignore the quote went largely unheard. Because the damage of that editorializing is far and beyond anything you can try to nerf dart blame onto the meta community for. And going out into spinouts of Wildly Missing The Point in Da Proof examples (and, in full irony, missing BLATANT IRONY AND SARCASM involved in the moments) just because you’re bitter -- that’s not gonna endear you to ANY audience. Not any audience you want, at least.
Look, people are going to be excited and see endgame Destiel potential whether or not there’s a meta fandom. Every fucking year GA trips into this fandom after binging the show on Netflix, already assume everybody thinks it’s a thing, and then are dumbstruck when they realize this is even in debate.
Being a reporter is hard. I get that. I even tried to be supportive and non-accusatory out of the gate and just explain where the editorialization colored content to the reader, which is literally part of the art of being a journalist. In actual news, it’s even an active tactic of persuasion. There’s psychology in how people read things. Understanding this is pretty fundamental to the craft.
In exchange, I’ve watched multiple people -- myself included, if indirectly -- get bussed over it, and that shit’s gonna stop. Writing big long bitter diatribes doesn’t really do anything, just shows you’re bitter -- and generally just turns you into a battering ram used by legitimate active premeditated assholes in the fandom. A former pro-Destiel writer is currently the new flag being used by antis to wave around and bash people on the heads with it. I hope the author is happy with that result. When it could have simply been like “Yeah, I guess my phrasing WAS a little leading, my bad.”
But that isn’t. That isn’t what happened.
I fully expect to get reblogged and argued with over it. And if that happens, I’ll flat ignore it, I’ll turn off notifications, I’ll let people wank into the wind, because this is all incredibly final.
Ship it without seeing endgame potential. Be as bitter as you want. But keep other people out of your bitterness and recognize where this toilet bowl spiral started -- and it has nothing to do with “not seeing endgame.”
Only bitter, ornery people want to follow bitter, ornery people. That’s where loss of follower count kicks in. The average person doesn’t want to sit and watch someone being bitter all day long. The only people who want to read that are people who want validation for their own bitterness and attitudes. Mind the kind of audience you’re tailoring. Currently, it’s the people flagging around your posts. That’s a bed someone makes for themselves. Either lay down in it or fix it.

[dropcap]H[/dropcap]appy May! I’m excited for warmer weather, AND this month’s talented and hardworking Creative Biz Spotlight — Miki from Black Tulip Shop!
Miki gave me a little bit of her time for an interview. I love getting to know other artists to see what drives them, and to see how they came to have such a collection of amazing work.
Read ~ Magical Girl Miki’s ~ interview below…
Hey, Miki! In your own words, please introduce yourself, and tell us why you do what you do.
Hi, my name is Miki and I run an Etsy store called black tulip shop. I make jewelry, charms, pouches, bags and doll accessories inspired by Japanese kawaii culture. I also sell vintage items that fits with the theme of the shop. I live in Atlanta, GA where there is a great indie craft scene, with my husband and two mischievous little cats (Roxy and Spike). I love collecting and making cute things and having the shop gives me a chance to share my love of cuteness with others.
Q: If a kid walked up to you asking for your advice and you only had a few minutes to give ‘em your best tip, what would it be?
A: It may be old fashioned but I would tell them if they really want something to work hard for it.
Q: If you had the chance to live during an artistic movement or fashion era in the past, which one would you choose?
A: Hmm, that’s a tough one but I would say 1950s/60s. There’s a lot of great pop and futuristic art and design that even by today’s standards are really neat and fun.
Q: What do you do to get into your creative zone?
Black Tulip Shop Kawaii strawberry milk bookmark paper clip.
A: Usually I go shopping for supplies to get into my creative zone. A lot of the times I see beads and fabric and can already tell what I want to make with it. The times I have been to Japan has been a big creative inspiration for me as well. The craft stores there are amazing and I can’t imagine another city in the world having the variety of shops that Japan has. Walking through Nippori (Fabric Town) with various fabric, trim and button shops or spending hours in a huge store like Yuzawaya looking at fabric, beads and drawing supplies is the best. There is cuteness everywhere there so it’s hard to not get inspired.
Q: How do you fit your creative work into your schedule? What days or time of the day do you usually work?
A: I feel like I work 24/7 but usually I work from about 9am-6pm Monday-Friday. Since I work from home it’s pretty easy to fit my work in between other things like housework and spending time with friends and family.
Q: What are your favorite things to work with (tools, materials, etc.)?
A: I like working with fabric a lot since you can make so much with it. As far as beading goes I love finding a good charm to work with or pretty pastel colored beads. I also have a thing for anything iridescent whether it’s fabric, vinyl or beads.
Kawaii Bento Bag by Black Tulip Shop
Pastel Kawaii Star Earrings by Black Tulip Shop
Kawaii Magical Kitty Eyeglass Case by Black Tulip Shop
Q: What are your biggest creative inspirations?
A: Like many other people the street styles and brands in Harajuku are a big inspiration. Also vintage fashion and accessories from the 40s, 50s, 60s and 80s like dresses and jewelry are amazing along with vintage toys.
Q: What was the most enjoyable thing you’ve ever done with your creative work?
A: Making custom items is great! A lot of the time you work with the customer to make a very specific item for themselves or a loved one and hearing back that it was perfect makes me really happy.
Q: Last but not least the most important question: What’s your favorite dinosaur?
A: Triceratops, they look kinda bad ass, like a battering ram with spikes.
Thank you for spending time with us, Miki!

DIZAJN I ERGONOMIJA
To međutim, nisu jedine razlike.
ZASLON
KAMERE
Dvije kamere straga i jedna sprijeda. To je naoružanje, kojim raspolaže Desire 12+. Straga imamo 13+2 MP s f/2.2 otvorom blende i faznim autofokusom glavne kamere. Pomoćna je tu radi bokeh efekata, odnosno zamućivanja pozadine. Snima 1080p video.
U idealnim uvjetima snima ok fotke i video. Selfie kamera je nešto bolja no na Desire 12.
Evo par primjera fotografija i videa snimljenih koristeći automatske postavke:

SOFTVER
PERFORMANSE I BATERIJA
HTC Desire 12+ pristojno vrti Real Racing 3
lijep dizajn i kvaliteta izrade
ugodan u ruci
prostran i moderan zaslon
solidne kamere
utor za microSD
dual SIM
čitač otisaka
vrlo dobra autonomija
FM Radio (kome je bitan)

Assassin’s Creed: Origins first impressions
Yes, once again it’s time for me to play 20 hours of a game and only be able to give a ‘first impressions’ review, because in this day and age if you’re not able to play a game like a full-time job then are you even playing at all?
I must admit though, for all their flaws as a developer and as a publisher, Ubisoft have, for the last few months at least, given me some of the most consistent gaming enjoyment that I’ve experienced in a while, and it’s due in no small part to the marked increase in quality in their recent releases. It started with Far Cry 5, which I will talk about once I’ve finished it, and continues with Assassin’s Creed: Origins, which is easily one of the top three games in the series.
However, (and we’re talking about Ubisoft here, so of course there’s a ‘however’) there’s something I want to talk about first, and that’s a little thing I call the ‘Ubisoft Enjoyment Curve’.
If the title isn’t self-explanatory enough, the UEC is a visual representation of my enjoyment when playing a Ubisoft game, and it’s a pattern that is consistent among most of their games in most of their franchises. If one were to do a shitty MSPaint drawing of it, it would look a little like this:
This particular mock-up pertains specifically to AC games, but generally speaking, the UEC tracks a boring tutorial followed by a sharp increase in enjoyment as the world opens up, followed by a plateau when one starts getting into the repetitive gameplay loop. This is followed by a sharp decrease in enjoyment as the loop gets tedious, ending on a low as the final battle underwhelms. My experiences with Ubisoft games tend to follow this exact same pattern every time because the company consistently manage to do certain specific things very well, and certain specific things very poorly. For example, no-one designs an open-world like Ubisoft. While the world of, say, The Witcher 3 is a stunning place filled with gorgeous visual detail, it’s still a collection of discrete zones that can only be travelled between via loading screens. Origins, however, is one enormous, stunning, and SEAMLESS representation of Hellenistic Egypt, and somehow it performs like a dream. When the game first offered me a mission to leave the starting village of Siwa and travel to a different city, I finished everything there was to be done because I was convinced that, like Assassin’s Creed 2, for example, I’d be transported to another self-contained city sandbox, cut off from the rest of the world. So imagine my surprise where I realised you could just ride from one end of the country to the other on horseback, and as soon as I was loaded into Alexandria, I could turn right around and walk straight back to Siwa if I wanted to. You can gaze across the deserts surrounding Giza and see the glorious lighthouse at Alexandria towering on the horizon miles in the distance, and if you want, you can make a beeline for it and rarely encounter stuttering and pop-in, with nary a loading screen at all. This technical sorcery is one of Ubi’s greatest strengths as a developer, and although, for example, Black Flag had attempted something like this in their open world, the fact remains that that world is a collection of islands, lacking even half the detail and landmass featured here. Even the most recent game before Origins - Syndicate - took place in the city of London alone. A large city, but much less a ‘world’ and more a ‘zone’. So once one slogs through the grind of the mandated Ubisoft tutorial (as if you’re not just playing practically the same game as you were ten years ago), the enjoyment spike that comes along with exploring the expanding world is dramatic.
But then, after a few hours of running round on an exotic virtual holiday, they hit you with the god-awful present-day missions. Now it’s not that I object to the meta-narrative - failing to adequately follow-up Desmond Miles’ storyline is actually one of the series’ greatest mistakes, in my opinion. The promise of that story, and in particular (SPOILERS) the stunning and fantastic anti-climax for Ezio Auditore at the end of his life’s search for the secrets of Eden, as the Ancients delivered their message through him and over hundreds of years of time to Desmond, was one of the main reasons I was so excited for the follow-up entries following Ezio’s retirement as a character. But it’s specifically because they’ve failed to give the player any reasonable incentive to care about the meta-narrative that these missions are so unbearable. I mean, there’s also next-to-nothing to do in them, but it’s unsurprising that a lack of compelling storytelling begets a lack of compelling gameplay. I genuinely think that they could have thrown that shit out entirely with this entry - I would have been more relieved than anything if they had - and while I can’t comment on how this particular story develops, there seems to be little, if anything, going on as far as I’ve played. It’s more engaging than the confusing, entirely cutscene-based meta-story of Syndicate, but still, the present-day portions of Origins that I’ve played so far take place in a tiny, relatively featureless environment that offer little more than an annoying distraction from the true wonders of the game.
After leaping back into the past, however, it isn’t long before the comfortable familiarity of the AC formula and the wonder of the game world begins to offer diminishing returns. Because once one has explored enough of the map, it becomes pretty clear that whatever changes Ubisoft have made for this entry are ultimately pretty superficial - Egypt may be beautiful to look at, but in many ways it’s like the pre-rendered backgrounds of old in that there’s little by way of interactivity here. At its core, this Assassin’s Creed game is fundamentally the same as that Assassin’s Creed game, and you’ve probably got another 50 hours ahead of you before you’ve finished with it. And while this plateau in enjoyment can hold out for 5, maybe 10 hours, eventually, always, the repetition of the gameplay and the lack of true content always gets the better of me, and rather than investing in what I’m doing, I start enjoying my time less and less. I stop listening to what the characters have to say and just perform side missions by rote, and I’ve noticed that, for all the talk of Origin’s side-missions being more developed than in other AC games, this is only superficially true, and it still falls into the old trap of cut-and-paste content. On the surface, it would like you to think that the old dog has learnt new tricks, but when you find yourself unlocking a cage and carrying a captive out of an enemy camp for the twelfth time you’ll see that Origins still embodies some of the longest-standing flaws of the series as a whole.
And it’s all the more annoying because the repetition in the side content doesn’t necessarily have to be such an issue, but as always, the busywork still ends up taking up an enormous amount of your time in-game, vastly outweighing the time spent engaging in any kind of story-related content, and it saps away a lot of the life the game might otherwise have.
So, with that said, what does the game do right?
The story begins in media res, and it does a fairly good job of catching the player up on the history of the main character - Bayek - and why he has you doing the things you’re doing. While it might initially felt like I’d skipped past interesting parts of a bigger story, I can’t help but feel like there is so much more to be revealed that I don’t know about yet, and this parallels the journey of Bayek himself, who begins the game equally ignorant as to how deep the conspiracy he has found himself embroiled in goes. For what I’ve seen, the game takes a rather hands-off approach to telling its story, as opposed to, say AC2, which leans into its historical figures and has a lot of fun with its fictionalised version of history. Origins opts instead to spend as little time as possible explaining its story via cutscenes, and throws the player into the doing rather than holding them up with the telling, and in my opinion it could have afforded to play with its history more. But again, I’m not sure how much of the story I’ve played so I can’t comment on how this changes later on.
The time period of the setting is absolutely inspired as well, and depicts Egypt when it was the point of intersection of three diverse cultures - the Greek, Egyptian, and Romans all meeting as civil war stirs between the armies of Cleopatra and her brother/husband (yeah) Ptolemy XIII. This incredible time in history lends the game an immense diversity of both architecture and people, and the player gets to experience the joy of interacting with these, and playing the lynchpin of the political machinations of some of the most fascinating figures ever to have lived.
Another area in which Origins excels over its previous games is the interaction between its various gameplay systems, and while it isn’t anywhere as detailed as say, something like Far Cry 2 in terms of emergent gameplay, it’s still a step up over previous entries. For example, I’ve seen soldiers affected by beserk darts crack open cages holding rebel prisoners, who have then gone on to cause extended chaos amongst the soldiers protecting a stronghold, leaving me free to slip in and out unnoticed. Sleep darts thrown into fires will explode in a cloud of sedative gas and knock out handfuls of people at a time. Poisoning corpses and wandering away can result in you returning to a dozen dead bodies strewn over the place as guards investigating dead comrades have carried disease back to their living counterparts. Tense battles can and will be interrupted by crocodiles or hippos racing in and devouring your enemies. Punt boats can be set on fire and sunk from under the people standing on top of them, or rammed and tipped, leaving their pilots swimming for their lives. Oil jars can be thrown into water, broken, and the spreading oil slick ignited. On multiple occasions I’ve avoided danger because the person who spotted me dropped dead on the spot with disease, or was attacked by a predator in the process of attacking me. I wish the game had gone farther with its fire mechanics, and I suppose in the grand scheme of things it feels a little half-hearted in terms of its implementation of some of these ideas, but still, it’s better than it has ever been.
Origins also has the tidiest implementation of its climbing mechanics of any AC game yet. There’s a far more definitive use of ‘press X to climb, press O to drop’ that leaves little room for you to be unsure as to whether you need to hit one or the other to scale that small ledge. The game is also much more forgiving in terms of which surface it will let you climb and where - as a result, Origins is much less a puzzle-climber than other games in the series, and it’s rare that you’ll end up getting stuck on something because the designers have simply decided that you’re not allowed to cling to that particular thing above your head. They also removed the infuriating restriction on jumping that was a particularly frustrating part of Syndicate - the one that completely stops you from leaping from ledges above a certain height - meaning that you’re free to leap to your death if you CHOOSE to, because this is 2018 and I should be able to make my characters commit suicide if I damn well want to. These movement tweaks open the way for more free-flowing experience, and allow for instinctive and reactive control by the player: if you’re chasing someone transporting resources and they disappear inside a stronghold, you don’t have to spend the next five minutes wandering around the perimeter looking for an entry point only to find that you can’t get down from the wall you just climbed - now you can just just take it in your stride and continue hunting your prey.
These small quality-of-life improvements make a big difference to the overall feeling of ‘tracking and attacking’ (trademark, me, 2018), particularly when combined with the overhauled combat. No-longer is the combat system a poor-man’s knockoff of the Arkham series; instead you have direct control over blocking, light and heavy attacks, dodging and parrying, and characters are free-moving with the ability to lock on. It’s a bit more button-mashy, but you don’t have to spend your time waiting for the enemy to attack; instead it encourages movement and pressing the initiative. You’re even able to equip up to four weapons, including two bows that operate as a stealthy and fully-featured replacement for the pistols/throwing knives that appeared in the previous games. In response to this, enemy awareness has been ramped up, meaning that even the quietest assassinations will alert any guard close enough to you, and you can and will be spotted fairly quickly if you creep without care. That said, even on hard, the game becomes easy as soon as you level up higher than the enemies around you, but you’re offered a menu option to make enemies level up with you, and for those that want the game to keep pushing them (and I’d say it’s necessary to hold off some of the tedium of the gameplay routine) I’d recommend it.
Lastly, I’d like to go into greater detail about the world design. From the gorgeous Mediterranean waters of Alexandria, through the verdant Nile Delta areas, to the desolate sands of the southern deserts, and the immense and haunting Giza pyramids, the game’s visuals are every bit the pinnacle of Ubisoft’s efforts. It can’t be overstated how amazing Origins looks, and there’s so much joy to be taken from simply standing and looking around, or touring the backstreets and bazaars and temples and cobbled carriageways. In a game like this it’s easy to get buried by the repetition and fail to see the forest for the trees, so it’s certainly a joy to snap out of that every now and then and just go for a walk and admire the level of detail on display. More than Syndicate with it’s rows and rows of similar buildings, or Black Flag and Rogue with their giant stretches of water, Origins feels like a world designed by hand and with care. Every surface and texture feels like it was placed with intention, and it gives you that very ‘Assassin’s Creed’ feeling in which you wonder just how close to the design the reality of the place actually was.
Collectively, my first impressions are skewed quite positive, although even now I’m finding myself falling prey to a fatigue common to my experience with these games. Taking the extra year for development has certainly done it some good - it’s clear that the ambition and quality in its presentation has increased with the increase in development time, and that a few fresh ideas have managed to penetrate the wall of executives that make all the decisions for this type of thing. But one shouldn’t be misled - Assassin’s Creed: Origins is still the same old Assassin’s Creed, and if there’s any core feature of the series that you despise, chances are you’re going to run into it here. That said, it still remains one of the best games they’ve made. It’s huge, detailed, gorgeous, open-ended, with visceral and bloody combat, a number of entertaining systems that interact to hilarious effect. When it works, it works really well - it’s fun. But it does suffer from the fact that the size and scale of the game means more faffing about with relatively meaningless busywork, and it’s this repetition that dulls the shine of the world around you. In some ways it feels more of a throwback to older AC games whilst still having some new ideas of its own, but when it comes down to it, it’s the latest AC game. So...get it if you like AC games, I guess? Because it’s the latest one.

( meta: languages. )
basically, all my muses are some form of bilingual and i've been thinking about this so here's a mini headcanon post regarding that:
annie: native speaker in english and korean although the latter, she was more shaky on until she did study abroad in seoul for medical school. she was also consistently learning spanish until the incident. these days, she thinks both in korean and english, like 50-50.
ga-ram: korean is his native language, but he can also speak English and Japanese– the latter he’s conversational, not fluent in though. Both, yohan encouraged him to take up as English is useful to know among foreigners and Japanese would give yohan access to connections in Japan… if he ends up with mara, he’ll probably start learning spanish too.
nell: english and code ( the language of ones and zeros). Technically she knows korean too as her online friend inspired her to learn korean…however since nell pushed herself to immerse herself in the language until recently, her speaking and listening comprehension is pretty bad…her reading of hangul, on the other hand is very good. myungdae and alfred have been giving her remedial korean classes to catch her up.
lamon: as a second-generation immigrant from thailand, English is his first language, but he grew up listening to his family speak thai…so while he speaks like a elementary schooler, his listening and comprehension skills are much better. when he’s older, he might actually try to learn the language, but in the meanwhile he’s currently struggling with spanish as many of his students and the parents speak it
aeri: your girl is fluent in korean, english, and french and learned those languages in that order. she wants to learn italian next as Milan is has been looking more and more attractive to move to these days–
ballister: in his modern verse, he grew up speaking urdu and then picked up English as teenager, which means his accent is a fun amalgamation of British and Pakistani…while now fluent in English, he does get self conscious about his accent ^^’
mana: speaks english and vietnamese with the southern dialect. Her reading skills in the latter isn’t nearly as good as her speaking and listening skills as she speaks vietnamese almost exclusively with her grandma and the elderly vietnamese people in her neighborhood. she refuses to speak vietnamese with someone using a northern dialect mostly bc that?? Does not sound like vietnamese to her 🥲
yoojin: korean is his first language and over the course of a thousand years, he’s picked multiple languages…although like with any skills, many of these languages he’s grown rather rusty with and the version he speaks may or maybe not be considered an antiquated version of the language 🥲 As of right now, he can speak korean, mandarin, cantonese, and english (conversationally)!! i have a feeling he does better with tonal languages in general.

Croatian, 29.FEB.2020 Om Sri Sai Ram 29. veljače 2020. Gorka stvar na jeziku čini cijeli jezik gorkim; kad osobine pohlepe i ljutnje uđu u srce, sjaj nestaje, tama dominira scenom, i čovjek postaje meta bezbrojnih patnji i gubitaka. Stoga oni koji teže doseći svetu prisutnost Gospoda, moraju razvijati određene navike, discipline i osobine. Prema Vahini, 56. poglavlje Uobičajeni način života neće vas voditi prema Bogu. Morate ga preoblikovati putem duhovne discipline. - Baba Sathya Sai Baba www.sathyasai.org #sathyasai #saibhakta #sathyasaibaba #saibaba #saimaa https://www.instagram.com/p/B9MkB1Kg4Gj/?igshid=wljn5x988vk

It can be hard to see the gradual improvement of most goods over time, but I think one way to get a handle on them is to look at their downstream effects: all the small ordinary everyday things which nevertheless depend on obscure innovations and improving cost-performance ratios and gradually dropping costs and new material and… etc. All of these gradually drop the cost, drop the price, improve the quality at the same price, remove irritations or limits not explicitly noticed, or so on.
It all adds up.
So here is a personal list of small ways in which my ordinary everyday daily life has been getting better since the late ’80s/early ’90s (as far back as I can clearly remember these things—I am sure the list of someone growing up in the 1940s would include many hassles I’ve never known at all).
When I think back, so many hassles have simply disappeared. I remember my desk used to be crowded with things like dictionaries and pencil sharpener, but between smartphones & computers, most of my desk space is now dedicated to cats. Ordinary life had a lot of hassles too, I remembered once I started thinking about it. These things rarely come up because so many of them are about removing irritations or creating new possibilities—dogs that do not bark, and ‘the seen and the unseen’—and how quickly we forget that the status quo was not always so. Limiting myself to my earliest relatively clear memories of everyday life in the 1990s, I still wound up making a decent-sized list. Now, imagine if I could have extended this back another decade. Then another decade. Then another few decades…
(For broader metrics of increase in well-being such as life expectancy, income, pollution, slavery, poverty etc, see Our World in Data, the Performance Curve Database, the work of Hans Rosling like Gapminder, Human Progress.org etc.)
Roughly divided by topic:
the Internet/human genetics/AI/VR are now actually things
electric cars will be ordinary things in 5–10 years; self-driving cars not long after that
not rewinding VHS tapes
not watching crummy VHS tapes, period
not making a dozen phone calls playing phone tag, to set up something as simple as a play date
hotels and restaurants provide public Internet access by default, without nickel-and-diming customers or travelers; this access is usually via WiFi
satellite Internet & TV are affordable & common for rural people
not worrying about running out of AOL hours
not being yelled at for tying up the phone line
USB cables mean that for connecting or recharging, we now only need to figure out ~10 different plugs instead of 1000+ (one for every pairwise device combo)
programmers able to assume users have 4GB RAM rather than 4MB RAM
not needing to know the difference between PLIP, SLIP, IRQ, TCP/IP, or PPP to get online
Linux X, WiFi, and laptops usually work
no longer needing to clean computer mice weekly thanks to laser mice
electronics prices keep falling to the point where people whine endlessly online if a top-end VR headset or smartphone costs less in real terms than a Nintendo NES did in 1983 ($1003071983) or a Sony Walkman cassette player in 1979 ($1504831979), and kids couldn’t even imagine having to pay $501131990 for a new copy of Super Mario Bros. 31—a far cry from paying $5 these days for a great PC game during a Steam sale.
hearing aids are a small fraction the size, have gone digital with multiple directional microphones (higher-quality, customizable, noise-reduction), halved or more in price, become water-resistant, and even do tricks like Bluetooth
wheeled luggage no longer expensive or rare, but cheap & ubiquitous
not getting lost while frantically driving down a freeway; or anywhere else, for that matter
most books and scientific papers can be downloaded conveniently and for free
search engines typically turn up the desired result in the first page, even if it’s a book or scientific paper; one doesn’t need to resort to ‘meta-search engines’ or enormous 20-clause Boolean queries
smartphones: far too much to list… (eg careless smartphone photographs are higher-quality than most film cameras from a few decades ago, particularly in niches like dark scenes)
spaced repetition has escaped the cognitive psychology labs
nuisance software patents have been expiring (eg GIF, arithmetic encoding, MP3)
catching the tail end of a cartoon on TV and being able to look it up instead of wondering for the rest of one’s life what it was about
having fansubs available for all anime (no longer do anime clubs watch raw anime and have to debate afterwards what the plot was! Yes, that’s actually how they’d watch anime back in the 1970s–1990s when fansubs were often unavailable)
everything is available subtitled, not just TV
most programs have a usable FLOSS equivalent and in some areas FLOSS is taken so for granted that new programmers are unaware they used to have to pay for even text editors/compilers or that Linux is Communism
we no longer need to strategize which emails to delete to save space
not worrying about Blockbuster or library fines
houses which are insulated and uniformly comfortably warm, rather than leaky and using heaters running constantly creating drafts and hot/cold spots
hot water heaters increasingly heat water on demand, and do not run out while shocking the bather
stoves which are increasingly induction-based and safe rather than fire hazards burners/gas
riding lawn mowers are affordable & common for rural people
power tools (such as drills, leaf blowers, or lawn mowers) are increasingly battery-powered, making them more reliable & quieter & less air-polluting
speaking of batteries: batteries are built-in—remember how advertisements always had to say “no batteries included”?—so no more mad scrambles at Christmas for AA or AAA batteries to power all the presents (which could easily add $5111990–$10231990 to the total cost!)
cars last longer and get better mileage
airplane flights no longer cost an appreciable fraction of your annual income2, and people can afford multiple trips a year.
coats are thinner, more comfortable, and warmer thanks to better forms of synthetic fiber and insulation
laser pointers are no longer exotic executive toys or for planetariums, they’re things you buy off eBay for $1 for your cat
LED lights are more energy-efficient, heat rooms less & are safer, smaller, turn on faster, and are brighter than incandescents or fluorescents
movie theater seats have become far more comfortable as movie theaters competed with DVDs/home-theaters & Internet & video games (and concession prices seem like they’ve increased less than inflation)
the European Union & single Euro currency make the EU easier to understand & travel in it much less tricky and expensive
we no longer have to worry about our car windows being smashed to steal our radios, or our GPSes
car security alarms no longer go off endlessly in parking lots
all cars have electrified power windows; I don’t remember the last time I had to physically crank down a car window
radio stations have minimal static
TVs no longer have rabbit ears that require regular adjustment
LASIK surgery has gone from an expensive questionable novelty to a cheap, routine, safe cosmetic surgery
teddy bears & other toys are much more cuddly and silky
clothing has become almost “too cheap to meter”; the idea of, say, darning socks is completely alien3, clothing companies routinely burn millions of pounds of clothes because it’s cheaper than the cost of selling them, and Africa is flooded by discards.
materials science has produced constant visible-yet-invisible improvements in textiles yielding, among other things, far better insulated (and cheaper) winter jackets: instead of choosing between winter coats which make you look like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man or freezing (and if you get wet, freezing anyway) or exotic ultra-expensive garments aimed at mountain climbers, you can now buy ordinary (and much cheaper) winter coats which are amazingly thin and work even better to keep you warm—so much so that you have to be careful to not buy too well-insulated a coat, lest you swelter at the slightest exertion and be placed between the Scylla of overheating & the Charybdis of opening your coat to the freezing air to cool.
it is now reasonably safe and feasible to live in a big city like NYC, Chicago, or DC
crime, violence, teen pregnancy, and abuse drug use in general kept falling, benefiting everyone (even those not prone to such things) through externalities
Nicotine gum & patches no longer require a doctor’s prescription to buy (although moral panics have produced retrogression on nicotine vaping fluid)
marijuana has been medicalized or legalized in many states
air quality in most places has continued to improve, forest cover has increased, and more rivers are safe to fish in
copyright terms have not been indefinitely extended again
board games have been revolutionized by the influx of German/European-style games, liberating us from the monopoly of Monopoly
shipping/logistics has become cheaper, faster, more reliable, and more convenient in every way:
USPS introduced self-adhesive stamps in the early 1990s, and by 2010, licking stamps was almost nonexistent
most people recognize rebates/coupons are scams, and the rise of discounters/warehouse stores/Internet shopping has largely obviated them
you can avoid ripoff mattress stores by ordering online, thanks to compact vacuum-compressed foam mattresses which can be shipped easily
the cost of shipping goods has plummeted
shipping speeds have dramatically improved for lower-cost tiers: consider Christmas shopping from a mail-order company or website in 1999 vs 2019—you used to have to order in early December to hope to get something by Christmas (25 December) without spending $30511999 extra on fast shipping, but now you can get free shipping as late as 19 December!
coffee/tea/alcohol:
decent loose-leaf tea widely available
microbrews/craft beers have revolutionized beer varieties & availability (similar things could be said of wine, cider, and mead)
McDonald’s coffee which doesn’t explode in one’s lap while trapped in a car and causing disfiguring third-degree burns
McDonald’s and Dunkin Donuts coffee, and mass market coffee in general, no longer taste like ‘instant char-fee’
Keurig & other coffee machines which heat the water separately from the coffee-making are increasingly common, especially in hotels; this means that tea drinkers (like myself) can make tea which doesn’t taste hopelessly like coffee due to ineradicable coffee contamination
fast food in general has gotten much better: much tastier, and we don’t worry about getting salmonella or E. coli from our burgers
even mass-market grocery stories like Walmart increasingly routinely stock an enormous variety of exotic foods, from sushi to goat cheese to kefir
‘meat’ is an accepted fad diet
sous vide cooker have gone from devices bought only by professional European chefs for thousands of dollars to a popular $70 kitchen gadget
restaurants have gone from smoking, to smoking sections, to non-smoking entirely; and smoking in public has become rare
fresh guacamole can be easily bought due to pressure pasteurization (“Pascalization”), avoiding the inexorable spoilage of regular guacamole and buying fresh guacamole from the supermarket only to forget about it for a day and discovering it’s ruined
tasteless mealy bitter-skinned “Red Delicious” apples are still dismayingly common, but now one can buy (in most supermarkets) far superior varieties of apples, such as Honeycrisp apples (beginning 1991) or SweeTango apples (beginning 2009)
you no longer need to cook sausages to death because trichinosis is now rare.
Brussels sprouts no longer taste quite so bad
Part of why I never got an SNES or Super Mario Bros 3, despite enjoying it a lot whenever I could play it with my friends.↩︎
Where do you think all the money came from for those pretty stewardesses & elaborate meals in those glamorous Pan Am flights? Even much more recently, that $2896561990 average airfare in 1990 is not quite so amusing when you inflation-adjust it to today.↩︎
Have you ever noticed how much time even ‘middle class’ mothers used to spend sewing up pants or darning socks or organizing family clothes banks even as recently as the 1970s or 1980s? Somewhere around then, mothers stopped teaching their daughters how to sew or make clothes—I think less because of any feminism and more because it no longer seems like a particularly worthwhile skill to learn, especially given pressure from other uses of time like sports or homework. My grandmother in the 1950s routinely made whole outfits—dresses and pants and socks—for her family, while my mother only sewed under considerable duress, and my sisters couldn’t use a sewing machine at all (until one of them took up jewelry as a hobby as an adult). When I’ve asked about other families, this has been a common pattern.↩︎

NOKIA 7 PLUS DIZAJN I ERGONOMIJA
Nokia 7 Plus dolazi u dvije boje kućišta – bakreno-crnoj i bakreno-bijeloj, a u obje izgleda vrlo lijepo.
Notifikacijske LED-ice nema.
Donji brid nosi USB C, glavni zvučnik i glavni mikrofon, a gornji 3.5 mm audio izlaz i još jedan mikrofon.
Straga Nokia 7 Plus ima po sredini smješteni ovalni modul dvostruke kamere, opet obrubljen bakrom. Strši van gabarita, a pored njega je i dvotonska LED bljeskalica.
Snima 4K videozapise.
Selfie kamera je također opremljena Zeiss optikom, a nudi 16 MP senzor, otvor blende f/2.0 i 1080p video.
Zajedno snimaju tzv. bothie uratke u slici i videu.

NOKIA 7 PLUS PERFORMANSE I BATERIJA
Integrirana baterija kapaciteta 3800 mAh osigurava korisnicima Nokie 7 Plus cijeli dan intenzivna korištenja, a za većinu puka i dva dana umjerenog korištenja. Podržava brzo punjenje ali ne i bežično. Ja bih navečer na one dane kad sam je baš zgazio testiranjem lovio preko 7 sati uključena zaslona s još barem 30% preostala kapaciteta.
NOKIA 7 PLUS OCJENA
Za tu lovu ponudit će vam prostran zaslon, upečatljiv dizajn, odličan dojam u ruci, solidne kamere, odlične performanse, natprosječnu autonomiju i čist Android.
vrhunska kvaliteta izrade i dojam u ruci
vrlo dobar zaslon
odlične performanse
vrlo dobre kamere
64 GB + utor za microSD
3.5 mm audio izlaz

Sebelumnya coba dilihat dulu spesifikasi singkatnya:
[su_table responsive=”yes”]
Rilis Maret 2020 Sistem Operasi realme UI, berdasarkan Android 10 Layar 6,6 inci dengan proteksi Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Resolusi 1080 x 2400 piksel, rasio 20:9 (kepadatan ~399 ppi) FHD+ Chipset Qualcomm SM7125 Snapdragon 720G (8 nm) GPU Adreno 618 RAM 8 GB Memory Internal 128 GB Memory External microSD Kamera Belakang 64 MP, 12 MP, 8 MP, 2 MP Kamera Depan 16 MP + 8 MP Slot Charger USB Type-C Baterai Non-removable Li-Po 4300 mAh

Spec lengkap silah browsing ya, kepanjangan nanti. 😀
Review Realme 6 Pro
Pembelian dan harga
Okehh berlanjut untuk review Realme 6 Pro pada first looknya ya. Kalo liat dari segi box sih ga menarik. Hahaha..
Hahahha..

#gallery-0-12 { margin: auto; } #gallery-0-12 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 50%; } #gallery-0-12 img { border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; } #gallery-0-12 .gallery-caption { margin-left: 0; } /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
